阐述了一种基于单块周期极化铌酸锂晶体级联三倍频实现440 nm蓝光输出的实验方案。根据周期极化铌酸锂晶体的Sellmeier方程以及倍频与和频的相位匹配条件,在一块周期极化铌酸锂晶体上设计了两段不同的极化周期,使其在同一工作温度下能分别实现倍频与和频,在先后经过倍频与和频后,实现级联三倍频输出。实验采用Nd: YAG产生的1319 nm光作为基频光,重频400 Hz,脉宽110 ns,横向和纵向光束质量因子分别为1.81和2.65。耦合进周期极化铌酸锂晶体后,出射光中检测到660 nm的红光和440 nm的蓝光。通过调整工作温度和入射基频光功率,得到2.4 mW的最大蓝光输出,此时工作温度55.5 ℃,基频光功率530 mW。实验结果验证了单块晶体实现级联三倍频440 nm蓝光输出的可行性。  相似文献

The sum-frequency generation (SFG) is theoretically studied in a quantum dot (QD) through the framework of the effective-mass approximation and compact density matrix approach. QD is spherical with the parabolic potential confinement, under applied electric field and in the presence of Rashba spin-orbit interaction (SOI). Using the computed energies and eigenkets, the second-order susceptibility of SFG has been also calculated as a function of radius of QD, spin–orbit interaction strength and the applied electric field. The effects of Rashba SOI strength, radius of QD and the applied electric field on the second-order of susceptibility coefficient are considered.  相似文献

We report a high-power, narrow linewidth and tunable quasi-continuous-wave (QCW) yellow laser system at 589.159?nm. The system is of a design employing single-pass sum-frequency generation (SFG) in a LBO crystal by mixing the 1064?nm with 1319?nm lines from a two diode-side-pumped Nd:YAG master oscillator-power amplifier (MOPA) laser system. With the pump power of 35?W at 1064?nm and 25?W at 1319?nm, a 7.5?W QCW output of the SFG yellow laser at 589.159?nm, which is the vacuum wavelength of a general sodium D2 line, is obtained with a linewidth less than 0.7?GHz and a beam-quality factor M 2=1.2. The wavelength of the laser can be precisely step-tuned from 589.148 to 589.167?nm with an increment of 0.13?pm by means of a temperature-controlled etalon.  相似文献

A novel wavelength conversion scheme based on cascaded sum-frequency generation (SFG) and difference-frequency generation (DFG) is proposed and demonstrated in a MgO-doped LiNbO3 quasi-phase-matched waveguide. In this scheme, two pump wavelengths are set outside the communication band. It is shown that the same conversion efficiency can be achieved by use of two pump sources with lower output power (P1, P2) in this scheme compared with the conventional cascaded wavelength conversion technique based on second-harmonic generation and DFG with a single higher-power pump beam (P = P1 + P2) that is due to the use of a larger SFG nonlinear coefficient. The results significantly influence the selection of a suitable nonlinear interaction scheme for practical applications.  相似文献

基于外腔的高效频率转换, 尤其是当系统运行在抽运不消耗近似机理下, 信号光可实现大于90%的转换, 因此无法通过信号光直接获得其到腔模频率锁定的误差信号. 本文通过对信号光调制、和频光解调的方法获得了该误差信号, 实现了双波长激光到外腔腔模的级联锁定. 实验中外部环形腔将1.3 W的1064 nm抽运光放大到约14.3 W. 当1583 nm信号光从10 μW变化到50 mW, 其到636 nm和频光的转化效率约为73%; 当从50 mW变化到295 mW时, 转换效率呈线性降低到60%, 最终获得了440 mW的636 nm激光.  相似文献

Infrared-visible sum-frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy is performed at different visible wavelengths between 450 and 650 nm in order to investigate the interaction between metallic substrates (Pt, Ag and Au) and 1-dodecanethiol self-assembled monolayers. We show that such measurements provide a means to study the electronic properties of metals as well as the interference phenomena between the SFG signals from the adsorbate and the substrate. The common features of the three interfaces are the vibration modes of the terminal methyl groups. However, these resonances appear as peaks for Pt (111) and as dips in the case of Ag (111). Their shape is not modified when the visible wavelength is tuned between 450 and 650 nm. Moreover, the metal sum-frequency generation contribution is slightly modified in that spectral range. For Au (111) samples, the sum-frequency generation spectrum drastically evolves with the visible wavelength: the peak resonant sum-frequency generation signal at 450 nm becomes rather dip-shaped at 650 nm. The non-linear response of gold is also enhanced when the wavelength associated with the sum-frequency process is close to 480 nm. These results are interpreted on the basis of the metal electronic properties that are responsible for the non-resonant contribution to the SFG signal. We report a type of quasi-phase-matched (QPM) Cerenkov third-harmonic generation (CTHG) in a periodic-poled LiTaO? waveguide. The CTHG results from a guided-to-guided second-harmonic generation cascaded with a guided-to-radiated sum-frequency generation (SFG) in the waveguide. In the guided-to-radiated SFG process, nonlinear interactions with participating and nonparticipating reciprocal vectors would lead to different CTHG radiations. In addition, the power and temperature detuning characters of QPM CTHG were studied. Theoretical predictions were in good agreement with experimental results.  相似文献

提出了一种新颖的宽频带钕玻璃激光三倍频技术组合激光工作模式(宽带激光与窄带激光混频)方案。数值模拟研究表明:利用窄线宽钕玻璃激光脉冲,可以缓解宽频带激光谐波转换过程中群速度失配对转换效率的影响,从而提高宽带钕玻璃激光的转换效率;并且该方案可以与目前使用成熟的双和频晶体方案结合,从而能支持目前钕玻璃激光装置能达到的最大带宽约5 nm的高效三倍频(理论上效率达约80%)。  相似文献

In this paper, we have studied the characteristics of second-order nonlinear interactions with band-overlapped type-I quasi-phase-matching (QPM) second harmonic generation (SHG) and sum-frequency generation (SFG), and predicted a blue-shift with a band-narrowing of their bands and a sunken response in the SFG curve, which are due to the phase-matching-dependent competition between band-overlapped SHG and SFG processes. This prediction is then verified by the experiment in an 18-mm-long bulk MgO-doped periodically poled lithium niobate crystal (MgO:PPLN) and may provide the candidate solution to output controlling for flexible broadcast wavelength conversion, channel-selective wavelength conversion and all-optical logic gates by cascaded QPM second-order nonlinear processes.  相似文献

We demonstrate rapid vibrational imaging based on sum frequency generation (SFG) microscopy with a collinear excitation geometry. Using the tunable picosecond pulses from a high-repetition-rate optical parametric oscillator, vibrationally selective imaging of collagen fibers is achieved with submicrometer lateral resolution. We furthermore show simultaneous SFG and second harmonic generation imaging to emphasize the compatibility of the microscope with other nonlinear optical modalities.  相似文献

Infrared-visible sum-frequency generation (SFG) spectra of the stretching region of carbon monoxide adsorbed on Ni(100) are measured as a function of overlayer coverage and substrate temperature. The frequency and linewidth of the CO vibrational resonance in SFG have a similar dependence on coverage and temperature to that observed in linear absorption and emission spectroscopies. The lineshape of the SFG resonance, however, is influenced by the nonlinear response of the underlying metal surface. A simple model indicates that the nonresonant response of the substrate is out of phase with respect to that of the resonant CO response.  相似文献

The nonlinear optical response arising from a model multilayer structure, i.e., Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films comprised of different numbers of per-protonated (H) and per-deuterated (D) fatty acid layers on solid substrates, has been evaluated by sum-frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy. The SFG signals depend significantly on the absolute polar orientation of the fatty acids in the individual layers and on the nonlinear optical response of the substrate. The SFG spectra on gold and fused quartz substrates demonstrate a totally different dependence on the number of the contributing H layers, which it is possible to analyze quantitatively. The results provide important information for understanding the origin of the nonlinear optical responses from ordered systems composed of multiple interfaces and therefore for extracting exact structural information about each interface from the observed SFG signals.  相似文献

We present sum-frequency generation (SFG) characteristics of CsB(3)O(5) crystal (CBO). The effective nonlinear-optical coefficient of CBO in the ultraviolet range is close to its maximum. High-efficiency SFG with a picosecond Nd:YAG laser with output wavelengths of 355 and 266 nm was achieved. Experiments showed that CBO can be used under high power density without damage to the crystal.  相似文献

A new scheme with non-collinear sum frequency generation (SFG) process of broadband third harmonic generation (THG) with two KDP crystals (one doubler and one mixer) using angular dispersion was proposed. The principle of broadband harmonic generation with non-collinear angular dispersion was presented. The comparison between the schemes of non-collinear and collinear SFG process was performed. The effects of the angular dispersion on the conversion efficiency, the pulse shape and the spectrum of the third harmonic field were discussed. The results show that, if proper angular dispersion is added to the fundamental and the second harmonic field outside the mixing KDP crystal, respectively, the broadband third harmonic conversion efficiency can be improved significantly. However, the difficulty of this scheme arises due to the requirement of two gratings with different angular dispersion outside the mixer. With the new scheme, it can be simpler that only one grating is needed to realize the broadband phase matching in the non-collinear SFG process. Although the fundamental and the second harmonic field inside the mixing crystal are non-collinear except the center wavelength, a blazing grating with proper angular dispersion for the fundamental field (twice as that for second harmonic field) can yield the well compensation for phase mismatching in the SFG process. Consequently, the conversion efficiency and the characteristics of the third harmonic field for the broadband third harmonic generation can be improved significantly.  相似文献

We report a simple method to realize all-optical dual-direction half-subtracter at 40 Gb/s based on sum-frequency generation (SFG) using only one periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguide. The SFG process generates the Borrow outputs and the combination of the outputs from PPLN after SFG results in the Difference. The operation performance of the proposed scheme is simulated, including eye diagrams, Q-factor, extinction ratio, and tunability. The transparency range of beta-BaB(2)O(4) (BBO) was expanded by means of cooling, and the resulting absorption coefficient at 193.4 nm was reduced to 0.29cm(-1) at 91 K from 1.39cm(-1) at 295 K. Further, generation of light at 186.0 nm (the measurement limit in air) by type I sum-frequency generation (SFG) based on fundamental (744-nm) and third-harmonic (248-nm) light from a Ti:sapphire laser was confirmed for cooled BBO. Calculations based on observed data for SFG wavelengths and phase-matching angles indicate a potential for cooled BBO to generate wavelengths as low as 181.7 nm.  相似文献

We combined sum-frequency generation (SFG) vibrational spectroscopy with coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) spectroscopy in one system to examine both surface and bulk structures of materials with the same geometry and without the need to move the sample. Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and polystyrene (PS) thin films were tested before and after plasma treatment. The sensitivities of SFG and CARS were tested by varying polymer film thickness and using a lipid monolayer.  相似文献

We present a novel procedure for vibrationally resolved sum-frequency generation (SFG) in which a broad-bandwidth IR pulse is mixed with a narrow-bandwidth visible pulse. The resultant SFG spectrum is dispersed with a spectrograph and detected in parallel with a scientific-grade CCD detector, permitting rapid and high signal-to-noise ratio data acquisition over a 400-cm(-1) spectral region without scanning the IR frequency. Application to the study of a self-assembled monolayer of octadecanethiol is discussed.  相似文献
