An AB- and AA-stacked bilayer graphene sheet(BLG) under an electric field is investigated by ab initio calculation.The interlayer distance between the two layers,band structures,and atomic charges of the system are investigated in the presence of different electric fields normal to the BLG.The AB- stacked BLG is able to tune the bandgap into 0.234 eV with the increase of the external electronic field to 1 V/nm,however,the AA-stacked BLG is not sensitive to the external electric field.In both the cases,the spacing between the BLG slightly change in terms of the electric field.The charges in the AB- stacked BLG are increased with the increase of the electric field,which is considered to be the reason that causes the bandgap opening in the AB- stacked BLG.  相似文献

采用紧束缚近似方法对锯齿状六边形硼磷烯量子点在平面电场和垂直磁场调控下的电子结构和光学性质进行了研究. 研究表明,硼磷烯量子点作为直接带隙半导体,在无外加电场和磁场作用时,能隙不随尺寸的改变而变化. 在平面电场调控下,能隙随电场强度的增加逐渐减小直至消失,平面电场方向几乎不会对硼磷烯量子点体系产生影响, 且随量子点尺寸的增大,能隙消失所需电场强度逐渐减小. 在垂直磁场调控下,表现为体态的能级在磁场作用下形成朗道能级,而能隙边缘处的朗道能级近似为一个平带,不随磁通量的改变而变化,态密度主要分布于朗道能级处. 另外,垂直磁场作用下的光吸收主要是由朗道能级之间的跃迁引起的.  相似文献

石墨烯在光电子学领域具有广泛应用,但石墨烯的吸收率较低限制了其在某些方面的应用。为了改善单层石墨烯的吸收特性,在前人研究的基础上,设计了石墨烯和光子晶体异质结构构成的复合结构。利用4×4传输矩阵法研究了外磁场、费米能量和设计波长等参数对石墨烯吸收特性的影响。结果表明,所设计的光学结构使石墨烯既保持了原有的宽吸收带,还增加了数目可调的窄吸收带。由于考虑到磁光效应,石墨烯的吸收特性表现出一定的磁圆二色性。对于各吸收带,通常情况下左旋圆偏振光的吸收率要大于右旋圆偏振光的吸收率。但调节外磁场和费米能量,可使各吸收带具有99%以上的吸收,在一定的条件下,还可实现近完美的100%吸收。研究结果为光电子学领域中基于石墨烯的相关器件的设计提供了参考。  相似文献

The electrodynamics of single-layer graphene is studied in the scaling regime. At any finite temperature, there is a weakly damped collective thermoplasma polariton mode whose dispersion and wavelength-dependent damping is determined analytically. The electric and magnetic fields associated with this mode decay exponentially in the direction perpendicular to the graphene layer, but, unlike the surface plasma polariton modes of metals, the decay length and the mode frequency are strongly temperature-dependent. This may lead to new ways of generation and manipulation of these modes.  相似文献

采用基于密度泛函理论的广义梯度近似(GGA),对不同尺寸(N=2—11)的单层正三角锯齿型石墨烯量子点(ZN -GNDs)的结构进行优化,得到与实验数据较好符合的晶格常数,进一步计算得到不同尺寸下体系的自旋多重度、磁矩、电子态密度以及自旋电子密度.结果表明:所有体系都呈现金属性,在尺寸较小的体系中量子尺寸效应对电子结构的影响比较明显;与单层石墨烯片一样,sp2杂化作用和非键态电子在量子点中仍起到非常重要的作用;费米能级上有自旋向上的电子分布,体系的 关键词: 石墨烯 量子点 电子结构 磁性  相似文献

The eigenequation for single-layer graphene in transverse electric and perpendicular magnetic fields is investigated at a critical value |E| = υ F B. The critical solutions are not bound states and contain two unknown constants. Different from the case of the “classical” Hall effect, the electric current in the direction perpendicular to the electric and magnetic fields could be positive or negative depending on the values of the unknown constants.  相似文献

We investigate the electronic properties of graphene nanoribbons with attachment of bearded bonds as a model of edge modification. The main effect of the addition of the beards is the appearance of additional energy subbands. The originally gapless armchair graphene nanoribbons become semiconducting. On the other hand, the originally semiconducting armchair graphene nanoribbons may or may not change to gapless systems depending on the width. With the inclusion of a transverse electric field, the band structures of bearded graphene nanoribbons are further altered. An electric field creates additional band-edge states, and changes the subband curvatures and spacings. Furthermore, the energy band symmetry about the chemical potential is lifted by the field. With varying width, the bandgap demonstrates a declining zigzag behavior, and touches the zero value regularly. Modifications in the electronic structure are reflected in the density of states. The numbers and energies of the density of state divergent peaks are found to be strongly dependent on the geometry and the electric field strength. The beard also causes electron transfer among different atoms, and alters the probability distributions. In addition, the electron transfers are modified by the electric field. Finally, the field introduces more zero values in the probability distributions, and removes their left–right symmetry.  相似文献

石墨烯因其奇特的能带结构和优异的物理性能而成为近年来大家研究的热点, 但是目前单层石墨烯的质量与尺寸制约了其实际应用的发展. 本文采用常压化学气相沉积(CVD)方法, 基于铜箔衬底, 利用甲烷作为碳源制备了高质量大面积的单层与多层石墨烯. 研究发现: 高温度、稀薄的甲烷浓度、较短的生长时间以及合适的气体流速是制备高质量、大面积石墨烯的关键. Raman光谱, 扫描电子显微镜、透射电子显微镜等表征结果表明: 制备的石墨烯主要为单层, 仅铜箔晶界处有少量多层石墨烯. 电学测试表明CVD制备的石墨烯在低温时呈现出较明显的类半导体特性; 薄膜电阻随外界磁场的增大而减小.  相似文献

Tunable terahertz plasmon in a graphene-based device with a grating serving as a top gate is studied. Transmission spectra exhibit a distinct peak in the terahertz region when the terahertz electric field is perpendicular to the grating fingers.Our results show that the extinction in the transmission of single-layer graphene shields beyond 80%. Electronic results further show that the graphene plasmon can be weakly adjusted by tuning the gate voltage. Theoretical calculation also implies that the plasmon frequency of graphene can fall into the terahertz region of 1–2 THz by improving the sustaining ability and capacitance of the top gate.  相似文献

Gap opening at the Dirac point of the single-layer graphene with periodic scalar and vector potentials has been theoretically investigated under the continuum model. The symmetry analysis indicates that the two-fold degeneracy at the Dirac point can be lifted when the potentials break both the chiral symmetry and the time-reversal symmetry. With the perturbation theory, we derive an analytical expression (gap equation) for gap opening at the Dirac point. Furthermore, the bandgap from the gap equation agrees well with the exact result, when the applied potentials are weak.  相似文献

We investigate the electronic structure of graphene ribbons under the competition between lateral electric and normal magnetic fields. The squeezing of quantum level spacings caused by either field is studied. Based on the knowledge of the dispersion under both fields, we analyze the electronic trajectories near the junctions of different electric and magnetic fields configurations. The junctions can split and join electron beams, and the conductance is quite robust against disorder near the junction interfaces. These junction devices can be used as bricks for building more complicated interference devices.  相似文献

We draw motivation from recent experimental studies and present a comprehensive study of magnetothermoelectric transport in a graphene monolayer within the linear response regime. We employ the modified Kubo formalism developed for thermal transport in a magnetic field. Thermopower as well as thermal conductivity as a function of the gate voltage of a graphene monolayer in the presence of a magnetic field perpendicular to the graphene plane is determined for low magnetic fields (~1 T) as well as high fields (~8 T). We include the effects of screened charged impurities on thermal transport. We find good qualitative and quantitative agreement with recent experimental work on the subject. In addition, in order to analyze the effects of modulation, which can be induced by various means, on the thermal transport in graphene, we evaluate the thermal transport coefficients for a graphene monolayer subjected to a periodic electric modulation in a magnetic field. The results are presented as a function of the magnetic field and the gate voltage.  相似文献

石墨烯是一种由单层碳原子紧密排列而形成的具有蜂窝状结构的二维晶体材料,特殊的结构赋予了其优异的性能,如高载流子迁移率、电导率、热导率、力学强度以及量子反常霍尔效应.由于石墨烯优异的特性,迅速激起了人们对石墨烯研究以及应用的热情.石墨烯沉积或转移到硅片后,其器件构建与集成和传统硅基半导体工艺兼容.基于石墨烯的硅基器件与硅基器件的有机结合,可以大幅度提高半导体器件的综合性能.随着石墨烯制备工艺和转移技术的优化,硅基底石墨烯器件将呈现出潜在的、巨大的实际应用价值.随着器件尺寸的纳米化,器件的发热、能耗等问题成为硅基器件与集成发展面临的瓶颈问题,石墨烯的出现为解决这些问题提供了一种可能的解决方案.本文综述了石墨烯作为场效应晶体管研究的进展,为解决石墨烯带隙为零、影响器件开关比的问题,采用了量子限域法、化学掺杂法、外加电场调节法和引入应力法.在光电器件研究方面,石墨烯可以均匀吸收所有频率的光,其光电性能也受到了广泛的关注,如光电探测器、光电调制器、太阳能电池等.同时,石墨烯作为典型的二维材料,其优越的电学性能以及超高的比表面积,使其作为高灵敏度传感器的研究成为纳米科学研究的前沿和热点领域.  相似文献

By performing density functional theory calculations we show that it is possible to make the electronic bandgap in bilayer graphene supported on hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) substrates tunable. We also show that, under applied electric fields, it is possible to insert states from h-BN into the bandgap, which generate a conduction channel through the substrate making the system metallic. In addition, we verify that the breakdown voltage strongly depends on the number of h-BN layers. We also show that both the breakdown voltage and the bandgap tuning are independent of the h-BN stacking order.  相似文献

A family of highly sensitive devices based on a graphene nanobridge and superconducting electrodes has been developed, manufactured, and examined. These devices can be used to create a graphene-based integral receiver. A cold-electron bolometer prototype with superconductor-insulator-normal metal tunnel junctions has been studied. Its response to a change in the temperature and external microwave radiation has been measured. A superconducting quantum interferometer with a graphene strip as a weak coupling between superconducting electrodes has been examined. The corresponding modulation of the voltage by a magnetic field at a given current has been measured. The effect of the gate voltage on the resistance of graphene has been analyzed for these samples. To confirm that graphene is single-layer, measurements with the reference samples were performed in high magnetic fields, displaying the half-integer quantum Hall effect.  相似文献

We report high magnetic field scanning tunneling microscopy and Landau level spectroscopy of twisted graphene layers grown by chemical vapor deposition. For twist angles exceeding ~3° the low energy carriers exhibit Landau level spectra characteristic of massless Dirac fermions. Above 20° the layers effectively decouple and the electronic properties are indistinguishable from those in single-layer graphene, while for smaller angles we observe a slowdown of the carrier velocity which is strongly angle dependent. At the smallest angles the spectra are dominated by twist-induced van Hove singularities and the Dirac fermions eventually become localized. An unexpected electron-hole asymmetry is observed which is substantially larger than the asymmetry in either single or untwisted bilayer graphene.  相似文献
