Active modal control simulation of vibro-acoustic response of a fluid-loaded plate is presented. The active modal control of the vibro-acoustic response is implemented using piezoelectric actuators/sensors. The active modal damping is added to the coupled system via negative velocity feedback. The feedback gain between the piezoelectric actuators/sensors for the modal control is obtained using the in-vacuo modal matrix and the incompressible fluid-loaded modal matrix. The modal control performance of structural vibration and acoustic radiation of a baffled plate is numerically studied. It is shown that the proposed method increases the modal damping ratio and achieves reduction in the mean square velocity and the sound power for given modes of the fluid-loaded plate.  相似文献

An efficient technique to estimate the vibration of and sound radiation from a stiffened fluid-loaded plate excited by a mechanical point force is presented. The process is based on the formulation in the wavenumber domain of the transversal displacement of the plate and of the acoustic pressure in the fluid domain. Analytical expressions can be easily obtained for these fields in the case of an infinite plate with stiffeners uniformly spaced. The approach consists then on using the discrete Fourier Transform to deduce the associated fields in the physical space. This transform necessitates truncation of the wavenumber domain and sampling of these wavenumber fields with adequate criterions to avoid loss of information and aliasing. These criterions are discussed in this paper concerning displacement point results on the plate and pressure point results in a part of the fluid domain “close to” the plate. This technique requires relatively small computing time and provides an efficient tool to analyse the vibro-acoustic behaviour of the stiffened plate, both, in the physical and the wavenumber spaces. A comparison between a case discussed in the literature and some examples are presented to illustrate the validity and interests of this approach.

An analytical method based on the modal expansion technique was developed to predict the vibro-acoustic response of both unidirectionally and bidirectionally stiffened flat panel. This paper presents the response to diffuse acoustic field (DAF) and turbulent boundary layer (TBL) excitations in terms of their joint acceptance. Numerical results for the dynamic and acoustic responses are compared with finite element method (FEM) and boundary element (BEM) results for stiffened panel with complex and eccentrically shaped stiffeners subject to point force excitation. A theoretical prediction of the transmission loss (TL) is also compared with laboratory measurements conducted on flat panels representing aircraft models as well as with hybrid statistical energy analysis (SEA)-FEM periodic model. The results confirm that the stiffened panel has the same acoustic response as the skin without stiffeners at frequencies where the structural wavelengths are equal to the spacing between the stiffeners. In addition, the transmission loss is lowered by the presence of the stiffeners at some particular region of frequencies below the critical frequency with respect to the unstiffened panel.  相似文献

This paper presents a new numerical model to investigate the vibro-acoustic behaviour of two laminated glass plates enclosing a thin viscothermal fluid cavity. The aim of this work is to develop an original five layer (two skins plies, two adhesive films and a core ply) laminated plate finite element by mixing Kirchhoff and Mindlin plate’s theory. The formulation is based on the theory that accounts for the transverse shear in the adhesive films and in the core. The acousto-elastic model is established in dimensionless appropriate form including the effects of viscosity and thermal conductivity of fluid and by taking into account the fluid-structure interaction. The discretization of the energy functional by finite element method gives after minimisation a symmetrical coupled matrix system in which the acoustic matrices are frequency dependent. Therefore, an iterative procedure is derived to determine the eigenmodes of the coupled system. The modal approach is adopted to determine the vibro-acoustic system’s response. Then, the validation of the new laminate finite element model is achieved by comparing the sandwich plate results against data obtained from literature. Subsequently, predicted responses, such as the vibration transmissibility and the transmission loss of the coupled system, for a given laminated double glazing under an imposed homogeneous pressure are presented and discussed. Numerical results show the importance of both lamination and viscothermal fluid effects on double glazing vibro-acoustic behaviour.  相似文献

A micro-perforated panel (MPP) with a backing cavity is a well known device for efficient noise absorption. This configuration has been thoroughly studied in the experimental conditions of an acoustic tube (Kundt tube), in which the MPP is excited by a normal incident plane wave in one dimension. In a more practical situation, the efficiency of MPP may be influenced by the vibro-acoustic behavior of the surrounding systems as well as excitation. To deal with this problem, a vibro-acoustic formulation based on the patch transfer functions (PTF) approach is proposed to model the behavior of a micro-perforated structure in a complex vibro-acoustic environment. PTF is a substructuring approach, which allows assembling different vibro-acoustic subsystems through coupled surfaces. Upon casting micro-perforations and the flexibility of the MPP under transfer function framework, the proposed PTF formulation provides explicit representation of the coupling between subsystems and facilitates physical interpretation. As an illustration example, application to a MPP with a backing cavity located in an infinite baffle is demonstrated. The proposed PTF formulation is finally validated through comparison with experimental measurements available in the literature.  相似文献

In Parts I and II of this series of papers, a practical simple “multi-mode theory”, based on the linearization of the non-linear algebraic equations, written on the modal basis, in the neighbourhood of each resonance, has been developed for beams and fully clamped rectangular plates.1 Simple explicit formulae have been derived, which allowed, via the so-called first formulation, direct calculation of the basic function contributions to the first three non-linear mode shapes of clamped-clamped and clamped-simply supported beams, and the two first non-linear mode shapes of FCRP. Also, in Part I of this series of papers, this approach has been successively extended, in order to determine the amplitude-dependent deflection shapes associated with the non-linear steady state periodic forced response2 of clamped-clamped beams, excited by a concentrated or a distributed harmonic force in the neighbourhood of the first resonance. This new approach has been applied in the present work to obtain the NLSSPFR formulation for FCRP, SSRP, and CCCSSRP, leading in each case to a non-linear system of coupled differential equations, which may be considered as a multi-dimensional form of the well-known Duffing equation. The single-mode assumption, and the harmonic balance method, have been used for both harmonic concentrated and distributed excitation forces, leading to one-dimensional non-linear frequency response functions of the plates considered. Comparisons have been made between the curves based on these functions, and the results available in the literature, showing a reasonable agreement, for finite but relatively small vibration amplitudes. A more accurate estimation of the FCRP non-linear frequency response functions has been obtained by the extension of the improved version of the semi-analytical model developed in Part I for the NLSSPFR of beams, to the case of FCRP, leading to explicit analytical expressions for the “multi-dimensional non-linear frequency response function”, depending on the forcing level, and the amplitude of the response induced in the range considered for the excitation frequency.  相似文献

The work proposed an optimization approach for structural sensor placement to improve the performance of vibro-acoustic virtual sensor for active noise control applications. The vibro-acoustic virtual sensor was designed to estimate the interior sound pressure of an acoustic-structural coupled enclosure using structural sensors. A spectral-spatial performance metric was proposed, which was used to quantify the averaged structural sensor output energy of a vibro-acoustic system excited by a spatially varying point source. It was shown that (i) the overall virtual sensing error energy was contributed additively by the modal virtual sensing error and the measurement noise energy; (ii) each of the modal virtual sensing error system was contributed by both the modal observability levels for the structural sensing and the target acoustic virtual sensing; and further (iii) the strength of each modal observability level was influenced by the modal coupling and resonance frequencies of the associated uncoupled structural/cavity modes. An optimal design of structural sensor placement was proposed to achieve sufficiently high modal observability levels for certain important panel- and cavity-controlled modes. Numerical analysis on a panel-cavity system demonstrated the importance of structural sensor placement on virtual sensing and active noise control performance, particularly for cavity-controlled modes.  相似文献

In order to theoretically predict and analyze the vibration response and acoustic radiation characteristics of a periodical orthogonally rib-stiffened plate, its vibro-acoustic equations of an underwater infinite model are established. The rib-stiffened plate is stimulated by a harmonic plane pressure.By using the Fourier transforms,Poisson's summation formula and space harmonic method, the structural vibration response and acoustic radiation pressure are expressed as functions of displacement harmonic components.Efficient semi-analytical methods are proposed in this work, and then approximate solutions for finite terms of the harmonic components are obtained by employing the truncation technique.Effects of the vibration response, rib spacing and torsional moment of the ribs on the radiation pressure are examined, and the validity of the present methods is also verified.Theoretical results show that the torsional moment of the ribs affects the modal frequencies of the stiffened plate, which should not be neglected in engineering applications with high precision requirement. With attachment of the ribs to the thin plate, its far field radiation pressure can be reduced in the low frequency range by adjusting rib spacing and cross sectional size of the ribs.  相似文献

This paper describes the modal interaction between a panel and a heavy fluid cavity when the panel is excited by a broad band force in a given frequency band. The dual modal formulation (DMF) allows describing the fluid–structure coupling using the modes of each uncoupled subsystem. After having studied the convergence of the modal series on a test case, we estimate the modal energies and the total energy of each subsystem. An analysis of modal energy distribution is performed. It allows us to study the validity of SEA assumptions for this case. Added mass and added stiffness effects of the fluid are observed. These effects are related to the non-resonant acoustic modes below and above the frequency band of excitation. Moreover, the role of the spatial coupling of the resonant cavity modes with the non-resonant structure modes is also highlighted. As a result, the energy transmitted between the structure and the heavy fluid cavity generally cannot be deduced from the SEA relation established for a light fluid cavity.  相似文献

This paper investigates the effects of finite dimensions on the vibro-acoustic response of orthogonally stiffened panels. Three types of excitations are considered: acoustical excitation, point force excitation and random excitation by a turbulent boundary layer. In each case, a spatially windowed periodic model is compared with a Rayleigh-Ritz model where the modes of the un-stiffened panel are used as the basis functions. The latter model accounts for the reflected wave field generated at the boundaries by assuming that the panel is simply supported. On the contrary, the windowed periodic model only accounts for finiteness on sound radiation (the assumption of an infinite periodic structure is used to calculate the panel response). Numerical studies show that when the bending wavelength becomes comparable or smaller than the stiffener spacing, the periodic model is able to reproduce the results obtained with the Rayleigh-Ritz model. To complement the study, the developed models are compared with numerical simulations (finite element method) and with experimental results.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to develop an efficient approach for vibro-acoustic analysis. Being simple and representative, an exited plate-acoustic system is selected as a validation case for the vibro-acoustic analysis as the system presents one two-dimensional statistical component (modal dense structure panel—plate) connected to the other component (deterministic acoustic volume—cavity) through the area junction over a surface domain, rather than at a line boundary. Potential industrial applications of the system vibro-acoustic analysis would be in acoustic modelling of vehicle body panels such as the cabin roof panel, and door panels for the boom noise analysis.A new deterministic-statistical analysis approach is proposed from a combination or hybrid of deterministic analysis and statistical energy analysis (SEA) approaches. General theory of the new deterministic-statistical analysis approach is introduced. The main advantage of the new deterministic-statistical analysis approach is its possibility in place of the time consuming Monte Carlo simulation. In order to illustrate and validate the new deterministic-statistical analysis approach, three approaches of the deterministic analysis, the statistical energy analysis and the new deterministic-statistical analysis are then applied to conduct the plate-acoustic system modelling, and their results will be compared. The vibro-acoustic energy coupling characteristic of the plate-acoustic system will be studied. The most suitable frequency range for the new approach will be identified in consideration of computational accuracy, information and speed.  相似文献

This work provides a general formulation to solve vibration problems for continuous systems with damping effects, including modal, transient, harmonic and spectrum response analyses. In modal analysis, the system eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions can be determined. The orthogonal relations of eigenfunctions are shown. For transient, harmonic and spectrum analyses, the generic force/actuator functions and response/sensing operators are introduced, respectively, and used to derive the system response. The time domain response is obtained for transient analysis, the frequency response function is derived for harmonic analysis and statistical quantities of response variables due to random excitation are determined in spectrum analysis. The solution for each type of analysis can be formulated and expressed in a concise format in terms of generic force/actuator and response/sensor mode shape functions. In particular, one-dimensional beam and two-dimensional plate vibration analyses are illustrated by following the developed generic formulation. This work provides the complete analytical solutions of four types of vibration analyses for continuous systems and can be applied to other engineering structures as well.  相似文献

In studying the sound transmission through panels, it is usual to consider a model based on an infinite panel. The sound transmission coefficient is defined as the ratio of transmitted power to incident power and must, therefore, be less than or equal to unity due to energy conservation. However, it is shown here that, for a finite panel, it is possible to find values of transmission coefficient that are greater than unity at certain frequencies due to the normalisation used for the incident power. This occurs at the fundamental resonance of the fluid-loaded panel. Example results are presented for a simple circular piston and then for a flexible rectangular panel and an explanation for this phenomenon is provided. In effect, the panel is excited by a sound field that is much larger than its own surface and attracts sound power from a wide region of the incident field. This result stands as an interesting test case for calculation methods where the occurrence of transmission coefficients greater than unity should not necessarily be seen as an error in the calculation.  相似文献

In the context of toroidal gyrokinetic simulations, it is shown that a hierarchy of damped modes is excited in the nonlinear turbulent state. These modes exist at the same spatial scales as the unstable eigenmodes that drive the turbulence. The larger amplitude subdominant modes are weakly damped and exhibit smooth, large-scale structure in velocity space and in the direction parallel to the magnetic field. Modes with increasingly fine-scale structure are excited to decreasing amplitudes. In aggregate, damped modes define a potent energy sink. This leads to an overlap of the spatial scales of energy injection and peak dissipation, a feature that is in contrast with more traditional turbulent systems.  相似文献

A generalized impulse response formulation to evaluate the harmonic pressure field of ultrasonic planar vibrators having axisymmetric nonuniform surface velocity distributions is presented. The harmonic pressure is expressed as a Fourier transform of a generalized impulse response which is a function of the spatially nonuniform velocity of the vibrator. A backward projection method is then developed to reconstruct the normal surface velocity of axisymmetric vibrators from harmonic field pressures using an angular spectrum or Hankel transform formulation. The numerical accuracy of the backward projection technique is evaluated using the impulse response formulation to evaluate the pressure fields for several velocity distributions on disk vibrators. Experiments were performed to reconstruct the velocity distributions over the surface of a uniformly driven piezoelectric ceramic disk and ceramic ring using farfield measurements of the complex pressure. The experimental results were in good agreement with theoretical results based on the electrode patterns of the transducers.  相似文献

The vibro-acoustic response of built-up structures, consisting of stiff components with low modal density and flexible components with high modal density, is sensitive to small imperfections in the flexible components. In this paper, the uncertainty of the response is considered by modeling the low modal density master system as deterministic and the high modal density subsystems in a nonparametric stochastic way, i.e., carrying a diffuse wave field, and by subsequently computing the response probability density function. The master system's mean squared response amplitude follows a singular noncentral complex Wishart distribution conditional on the subsystem energies. For a single degree of freedom, this is equivalent to a chi-square or an exponential distribution, depending on the loading conditions. The subsystem energies follow approximately a chi-square distribution when their relative variance is smaller than unity. The results are validated by application to plate structures, and good agreement with Monte Carlo simulations is found.  相似文献

Random wall-pressure fluctuations due to the turbulent boundary layer (TBL) are a feature of the air flow over an aircraft fuselage under cruise conditions, creating undesirable effects such as cabin noise annoyance. In order to test potential solutions to reduce the TBL-induced noise, a cost-efficient alternative to in-flight or wind-tunnel measurements involves the laboratory simulation of the response of aircraft sidewalls to high-speed subsonic TBL excitation. Previously published work has shown that TBL simulation using a near-field array of loudspeakers is only feasible in the low frequency range due to the rapid decay of the spanwise correlation length with frequency. This paper demonstrates through theoretical criteria how the wavenumber filtering capabilities of the radiating panel reduces the number of sources required, thus dramatically enlarging the frequency range over which the response of the TBL-excited panel is accurately reproduced. Experimental synthesis of the panel response to high-speed TBL excitation is found to be feasible over the hydrodynamic coincidence frequency range using a reduced set of near-field loudspeakers driven by optimal signals. Effective methodologies are proposed for an accurate reproduction of the TBL-induced sound power radiated by the panel into a free-field and when coupled to a cavity.  相似文献

The vibration of and sound radiation from an infinite, fluid-loaded, thick-plate assembly stiffened periodically with ribs are investigated numerically using finite-element analysis. First, numerical simulations are compared to the analytical solutions presented recently for this particular problem [Hull and Welch, J. Sound Vib. 329, 4192-4211 (2010)]. It is shown that the solutions reported in this reference are partially incorrect because the number of modes was not chosen correctly. Subsequently, the numerical model is used to study the effect of repeated and equally spaced void inclusions on the vibro-acoustic response of the system.  相似文献
