Burgers-type equations can describe some phenomena in fluids, plasmas, gas dynamics, traffic, etc. In this paper, an integrable hierarchy covering the lattice Burgers equation is derived from a discrete spectral problem. N-fold Darboux transformation (DT) and conservation laws for the lattice Burgers equation are constructed based on its Lax pair. N-soliton solutions in the form of Vandermonde-like determinant are derived via the resulting DT with symbolic computation, structures of which are shown graphically. Coexistence of the elastic-inelastic interaction among the three solitons is firstly reported for the lattice Burgers equation, even if the similar phenomenon for certern continuous systems is known. Results in this paper might be helpful for understanding some ecological problems describing the evolution of competing species and the propagation of nonlinear waves in fluids.  相似文献

To establish mass transport theory on nonlinear lattices, we formulate the Korteweg–deVries (KdV) equation and the Burgers equation using the flow variable representation so as to facilitate comparison with the Boltzmann equation and with the Cahn–Hilliard equation in classical statistical mechanics. We also study Toda lattice microdynamics using the Flaschka representation, and compare with the Liouville equation. Like the linear diffusion equation, the Boltzmann equation and the Liouville equation are to be solved for a distribution function, which is intrinsically probabilistic. Transport theory in linear systems is governed by the isotropic motions of the kinetic equations. In contrast, the KdV perturbation equation derived from the Toda lattice microdynamics expresses hydrodynamic mass transport. The KdV equation in hydrodynamics and the Burgers equation in thermodynamics do not involve a probability distribution function. The nonlinear lattices do not retain isotropy of the mass transport equations. In consequence, it is proposed that in the presence of hydrodynamic flows to the left, KdV wave propagation proceeds to the right. This basic property of the KdV system is extended to thermodynamics in the Burgers system. These features arise because linear systems are driven towards an equilibrium by molecular collisions, whereas the inhomogeneities of the nonlinear lattices are generated by the potential energy of interaction. Diffusion as expressed by the Burgers equation is governed not only by a chemical potential, but also by the Toda lattice potential energy.  相似文献

The modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) typed equations can be used to describe certain nonlinear phenomena in fluids, plasmas, and optics. In this paper, the discretized mKdV lattice equation is investigated. With the aid of symbolic computation, the discrete matrix spectral problem for that system is constructed. Darboux transformation for that system is established based on the resulting spectral problem. Explicit solutions are derived via the Darboux transformation. Structures of those solutions are shown graphically, which might be helpful to understand some physical processes in fluids, plasmas, and optics.  相似文献

This paper demonstrates that thermodynamically consistent lattice Boltzmann models for single-component multiphase flows can be derived from a kinetic equation using both Enskog's theory for dense fluids and mean-field theory for long-range molecular interaction. The lattice Boltzmann models derived this way satisfy the correct mass, momentum, and energy conservation equations. All the thermodynamic variables in these LBM models are consistent. The strengths and weaknesses of previous lattice Boltzmann multiphase models are analyzed.  相似文献

A quantum algorithm is presented for modeling the time evolution of a continuous field governed by the nonlinear Burgers equation in one spatial dimension. It is a microscopic-scale algorithm for a type-II quantum computer, a large lattice of small quantum computers interconnected in nearest neighbor fashion by classical communication channels. A formula for quantum state preparation is presented. The unitary evolution is governed by a conservative quantum gate applied to each node of the lattice independently. Following each quantum gate operation, ensemble measurements over independent microscopic realizations are made resulting in a finite-difference Boltzmann equation at the mesoscopic scale. The measured values are then used to re-prepare the quantum state and one time step is completed. The procedure of state preparation, quantum gate application, and ensemble measurement is continued ad infinitum. The Burgers equation is derived as an effective field theory governing the behavior of the quantum computer at its macroscopic scale where both the lattice cell size and the time step interval become infinitesimal. A numerical simulation of shock formation is carried out and agrees with the exact analytical solution.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel method, named the consistent Burgers equation expansion (CBEE) method, is proposed to solve nonlinear evolution equations (NLEEs) by the celebrated Burgers equation. NLEEs are said to be CBEE solvable if they are satisfied by the CBEE method. In order to verify the effectiveness of the CBEE method, we take (2+1)-dimensional Burgers equation as an example. From the (1+1)-dimensional Burgers equation, many new explicit solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional Burgers equation are derived. The obtained results illustrate that this method can be effectively extended to other NLEEs.  相似文献

A modified lattice hydrodynamic model of traffic flow is proposed by introducing the density difference between the leading and the following lattice. The stability condition of the modified model is obtained through the linear stability analysis. The results show that considering the density difference leads to the stabilization of the system. The Burgers equation and mKdV equation are derived to describe the density waves in the stable and unstable regions respectively. Numerical simulations show that considering the density difference not only could stabilize traffic flow but also makes the lattice hydrodynamic model more realistic.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of modified electron‐acoustic (mEA) shock waves in an unmagnetized, collisionless, relativistic, degenerate quantum plasma (containing non‐relativistic degenerate inertial cold electrons, both nonrelativistic and ultra‐relativistic degenerate hot electron and inertial positron fluids, and positively charged static ions) has been investigated theoretically. The well‐known Burgers type equation has been derived for both planar and nonplanar geometry by employing the reductive perturbation method. The shock wave solution has also been obtained and numerically analyzed. It has been observed that the mEA shock waves are significantly modified due to the effects of degenerate pressure and other plasma parameters arised in this investigation. The properties of planar Burgers shocks are quite different from those of nonplanar Burgers shocks. The basic features and the underlying physics of shock waves, which are relevant to some astrophysical compact objects (viz. non‐rotating white dwarfs, neutron stars, etc.), are briefly discussed. In this paper, the new exact solutions for some nonlinear partial differential equations are obtained within the newly established conformable derivative. We use the first integral method to establish the exact solutions for time-fractional Burgers’ equation, modified Burgers’ equation, and Burgers–Korteweg–de Vries equation. We report that this method is efficient and it can be successfully used to obtain new analytical solutions of nonlinear FDEs.  相似文献

This paper studies the coupled Burgers equation and the high-order Boussinesq–Burgers equation. The Hirota bilinear method is applied to show that the two equations are completely integrable. Multiple-kink (soliton) solutions and multiple-singular-kink (soliton) solutions are derived for the two equations.  相似文献

In this paper,we investigate a(2+1)-dimensional nonlinear equation model for Rossby waves in stratified fluids. We derive a forced Zakharov–Kuznetsov(ZK)–Burgers equation from the quasigeostrophic potential vorticity equation with dissipation and topography under the generalized beta effect, and by utilizing temporal and spatial multiple scale transform and the perturbation expansion method.Through the analysis of this model,it is found that the generalized beta effect and basic topography can induce nonlinear waves, and slowly varying topography is an external impact factor for Rossby waves.Additionally, the conservation laws for the mass and energy of solitary waves are analyzed.Eventually, the solitary wave solutions of the forced ZK–Burgers equation are obtained by the simplest equation method as well as the new modified ansatz method.Based on the solitary wave solutions obtained,we discuss the effects of dissipation and slowly varying topography on Rossby solitary waves.  相似文献

In this article, we study the (2+1)-extension of Burgers equation and the KP equation. At first, based on a known Bäcklund transformation and corresponding Lax pair, an invariance which depends on two arbitrary functions for (2+1)-extension of Burgers equation is worked out. Given a known solution and using the invariance, we can find solutions of the (2+1)-extension of Burgers equation repeatedly. Secondly, we put forward an invariance of Burgers equation which cannot be directly obtained by constraining the invariance of the (2+1)-extension of Burgers equation. Furthermore, we reveal that the invariance for finding the solutions of Burgers equation can help us find the solutions of KP equation. At last, based on the invariance of Burgers equation, the corresponding recursion formulae for finding solutions of KP equation are digged out. As the application of our theory, some examples have been put forward in this article and some solutions of the (2+1)-extension of Burgers equation, Burgers equation and KP equation are obtained.  相似文献

The generalized fractional Burgers equation is studied in this paper. Using the classical Lie symmetry method, all of the vector fields and symmetry reduction of the equation with nonlinearity are constructed. In particular,an exact solution is provided by using the ansatz method. In addition, other types of exact solution are obtained via the invariant subspace method. Finally, conservation laws for this equation are derived.  相似文献

In this paper,we extend the well-known direct method proposed by Clarkson and Kruskal for finding similarity reductions of partial differential equations. It follows that some new similarity reductions of the generalized Burgers equation, such as travelling wave reduction, logarithmic reduction, power reduction, rational fractional reduction, etc, are derived,in which some of these cannot be obtained solely by using the direct method. The similarity reductions obtained are interpreted by the nonclassical symmetry Lie group.  相似文献

It is well-known that incompressible turbulence is non-local in real space because sound speed is infinite in incompressible fluids. The equation in Fourier space indicates that it is non-local in Fourier space as well. However, the shell-to-shell energy transfer is local. Contrast this with Burgers equation which is local in real space. Note that the sound speed in Burgers equation is zero. In our presentation we will contrast these two equations using non-local field theory. Energy spectrum and renormalized parameters will be discussed.  相似文献

Even if numerical simulation of the Burgers’ equation is well documented in the literature, a detailed literature survey indicates that gaps still exist for comparative discussion regarding the physical and mathematical significance of the Burgers’ equation. Recently, an increasing interest has been developed within the scientific community, for studying non-linear convective–diffusive partial differential equations partly due to the tremendous improvement in computational capacity. Burgers’ equation whose exact solution is well known, is one of the famous non-linear partial differential equations which is suitable for the analysis of various important areas. A brief historical review of not only the mathematical, but also the physical significance of the solution of Burgers’ equation is presented, emphasising current research strategies, and the challenges that remain regarding the accuracy, stability and convergence of various schemes are discussed. One of the objectives of this paper is to discuss the recent developments in mathematical modelling of Burgers’ equation and thus open doors for improvement. No claim is made that the content of the paper is new. However, it is a sincere effort to outline the physical and mathematical importance of Burgers’ equation in the most simplified ways. We throw some light on the plethora of challenges which need to be overcome in the research areas and give motivation for the next breakthrough to take place in a numerical simulation of ordinary / partial differential equations.  相似文献

Some exact solutions of the Burgers equation and higher-order Burgers equation in (2+1) dimensions are obtained by using the extended homogeneous balance method. In these solutions there are solitary wave solutions, close formal solutions for the initial value problems of the Burgers equation and higher-order Burgers equation, and also infinitely many rational function solutions. All of the solutions contain some arbitrary functions that may be related to the symmetry properties of the Burgers equation and the higher-order Burgers equation in (2+1) dimensions.  相似文献

In this paper, starting from the careful analysis on the characteristics of the Burgers equation and the KdV equation as well as the KdV-Burgers equation, the superposition method is put forward for constructing the solitary wave solutions of the KdV-Burgers equation from those of the Burgers equation and the KdV equation. The solitary wave solutions for the KdV-Burgers equation are presented successfully by means of this method.  相似文献
