We report on a theoreticalanalysis of the effects of a converging pump field of Gaussian transverse profile on second harmonic generation in a periodic nonlinear material with quasi-phase-matching. The outputs of the centre intensity and the intensity flux for second harmonic generation are derived by simulation, based on the parameters of quasi-phase-mismatch, the waist and focus positions of the input pump beam. The results show that when the transverse profile of the pump field is taken into account, the quasi-phase-match value and focus position of input beam for maximal second harmonic generation flollow new criteria.  相似文献

研究了置于空气中的含缺陷的一维非线性光子晶体中二次谐波的产生.由于反射的二次谐波很强而不能忽略,缓变振幅近似在系统中是不适用的.本文提出了一种不采用缓变振幅近似来处理二次谐波产生问题的方法,并应用这种方法计算相关的二次谐波转换效率.结果表明:随着入射波角度的增加,缺陷模对应的波长将变短,并且通过调整基频波入射的角度,可以产生宽带宽并且高转换效率的二次谐波.这个方法适用于任何一维非均匀系统,可以简单方便地计算出二次谐波转换效率.  相似文献

Second harmonic generation is studied in structures containing nanoscale layers of transition metal chalcogenides that are two-dimensional semiconductors and deposited on a SiO2/Si substrate. The second harmonic generation intensity is calculated with allowance for multibeam interference in layers of dichalcogenide and silicon oxide. The coefficient of reflection from the SiO2-layer-based Fabry–Perot cavity is subsequently calculated for pump wave fields initiating nonlinear polarization at every point of dichalcogenide, which is followed by integration of all second harmonic waves generated by this polarization. Calculated second harmonic intensities are presented as functions of dichalcogenide and silicon oxide layer thicknesses. The dependence of the second harmonic intensity on the MoS2 layer thickness is studied experimentally in the layer of 2–140 nm. A good coincidence of the experimental data and numerical simulation results has been obtained.  相似文献

Semiorganic nonlinear optical material of dichloro(beta-alanine)cadmium(II) (DCBAC) have been synthesized and single crystals were grown by solvent evaporation method at room temperature. The lattice parameters of the grown crystals are determined by single crystal XRD. The modes of vibration of different molecular groups present in the sample were identified by the FTIR spectral analysis. Thermal stability of the crystal was investigated using thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The dielectric constants of the crystal were studied as a function of frequency and the results are discussed. The grown crystals are subjected to microhardness studies and the variation of the microhardness with the applied load is studied. The optical transmission spectra and second harmonic generation (SHG) were investigated to study its linear and nonlinear optical properties. The nonlinear optical (NLO) property of the crystal was confirmed by powder second harmonic generation (SHG) test. SHG efficiency is comparable to that of KDP.  相似文献

We study optical second harmonic generation (SHG) in planar waveguide structures composed of several layers with different dielectric constants. We develop a general formalism for the calculation of mode generation by a planar antenna embedded in the waveguide. As an application we consider a monolayer of high second-order susceptibility adsorbed at the interface between two layers of the waveguide structure. Periodic modulation of the nonlinear susceptibility allows phase matching leading to dramatically enhanced second harmonic intensities. We investigate the SHG-efficiency of various experimentally realizable geometries.  相似文献

This paper reports experimental and analytical results on optical second harmonic generation when a noncollinear arrangement is employed. The dependence of second harmonic power on crystal length, absorption, beam radius and the angle between the two fundamental waves is obtained. Double refraction of the crystal is taken into account, but the divergence and depletion of the fundamental waves are neglected. The results of the calculations are confirmed by experiments carried out with a KDP crystal in the near field of two intersecting TEM00 ruby laser beams.An extension of the theory to nonlinear interactions other than second harmonic generation - e.g. four-wave interaction - is possible.  相似文献

The nonlinear interaction of waves in a periodic structure placed into a magnetic field is considered. The structure is comprised of alternate semiconducting and insulating layers. The three-wave interaction technique is applied to studying the nonlinear processes. It is shown that nonlinear phenomena in media with translational symmetry and in homogeneous media differ. Conditions for the resonant interaction between the first and second harmonics are analyzed. It is found that the second harmonic is generated when the interacting first spatial harmonics both co-and counterpropagate, which is possible only in periodic structures. Resonance events improving the generation efficiency are discussed.  相似文献

Whereas the commonly used collinear quasi-phase-matched interaction is usually suitable for phase matching only a single nonlinear process, non-collinear interactions offer rich variety of phase matching possibilities, employing different elements of the nonlinear tensor, and various orders of quasi phase matching. By studying the dependence of the second harmonic process on the angle and the phase matching order in a periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal, we can non-destructively derive the duty cycle of the structure. The obtained duty cycle agrees well with surface scan measurements using an atomic force microscope. Furthermore, by proper selection of the non-collinear angle, we demonstrate simultaneous second harmonic generation of two cross polarized waves.  相似文献

The phase-matched second harmonic generation by periodic structures composed of laminae of nonlinear optical crystals has been studied experimentally. It is shown that the intensity of the second harmonic is approximately proportional to the square of the number of laminae under phase-matched condition, which is satisfied over a broad frequency range by the variation of the angle of incidence when a laminar structure with a period much larger than the coherence length is used.  相似文献

In the framework of a rheological model, a nonlinear dynamic equation of state of a microinhomogeneous medium containing nonlinear viscoelastic inclusions is derived. The frequency dependences of the effective nonlinear parameters are determined for the difference frequency and second harmonic generation processes in the case of a quadratic elastic nonlinearity. It is shown that the frequency dependence of the nonlinear elasticity of the medium is governed by the linear relaxation response of the inclusions at the primary excitation frequency, as well as by the relaxation of the inclusions at the nonlinear generation frequencies.  相似文献

A bandwidth microwave second harmonic generator is successfully designed using composite right/left-handed nonlinear transmission lines(CRLH NLTLs) in a GaAs monolithic microwave integrated circuit(MMIC) technology. The structure parameters of CRLH NLTLs, e.g. host transmission line, rectangular spiral inductor, and nonlinear capacitor,have a great impact on the second harmonic performance enhancement in terms of second harmonic frequency, output power, and conversion efficiency. It has been experimentally demonstrated that the second harmonic frequency is determined by the anomalous dispersion of CRLH NLTLs and can be significantly improved by effectively adjusting these structure parameters. A good agreement between the measured and simulated second harmonic performances of Ka-band CRLH NLTLs frequency multipliers is successfully achieved, which further validates the design approach of frequency multipliers on CRLH NLTLs and indicates the potentials of CRLH NLTLs in terms of the generation of microwave and millimeter-wave signal source.  相似文献

宽带光打靶可以有效降低激光等离子体相互作用过程中非线性效应。提出一种基于角色散的非共线匹配宽带三倍频方案,利用宽带基频与窄带二倍频的非共线和频产生宽带三倍频,和频过程中通过特殊设计的渐变光栅实现不同频率的基频光束以特定角度入射,补偿了波长差异引入的位相失配使得全波段满足位相匹配条件。理论模拟表明,采用KDP晶体Ⅱ类位相匹配,将中心波长为1058 nm、带宽10 nm的宽带基频光与526.5 nm的二倍频光进行非共线匹配和频,可以实现高效宽带三倍频转换。  相似文献

Benzimidazolium perchlorate (BDP) a novel organic nonlinear optical material has been grown by slow evaporation technique. Growth parameters such as metastable zone width and induction period were determined. The relative second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the material was investigated for the first time in the literature and was found to be 1.2 times higher than that of KDP. The grown crystals were subjected to X-ray diffraction, absorption spectrum, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, thermal behavior, CHN analysis, and micro hardness studies.  相似文献

A nonlinear dynamic state equation of waterlike porous material that contains a system of cylindrical capillaries partially filled with viscous liquid was received. It is shown that an acoustic nonlinearity of such media contains the relaxation elastic and inelastic components due to the nonlinear dependence of the capillary and viscous pressure in fluid on the capillary diameter. For the medium, theoretical study of such nonlinear phenomena as generation of the second harmonic and a difference frequency wave, self-demodulation of high-frequency pulses as well as the change in the propagation velocity and absorption coefficient of a test wave being under an action of static loading have been carried out. The frequency dependences of medium nonlinearity parameters for these processes were determined.  相似文献

简述了新型非线性晶体KABO的光学特性.根据相位匹配角公式、非线性有效系数公式、走离角公式和允许角公式,详细计算了KABO晶体倍频时的相位匹配角、非线性有效系数、倍频时谐波走离角、允许角随波长变化的理论曲线.特别是对LD泵浦掺钕的全固态激光器532 nm输出时,得到了KABO晶体采用I类相位匹配进行四倍频的相位匹配角、非线性有效系数、倍频时谐波走离角、允许角分别为:58.1°、0.254×10-12m/V、2.8°、1.8233 mrad·mm;并将该晶体与目前可应用于紫外倍频的晶体比较,在考虑走离效应的情况下,研究了四倍频转换效率随KABO晶体长度、基频光光斑半径的变化规律.  相似文献

In this work, the effect of a non-resonant intense laser field on the optical rectification and second and third harmonic generation in a Pöschl–Teller quantum well is theoretically investigated. In this regard, the coefficients of nonlinear optical rectification and second and third harmonic generation are obtained by using the compact-density matrix approach and an iterative method. Different values of the asymmetry parameters of the Pöschl–Teller potential as well as intense laser field strength have been considered. Numerical results presented for a typical GaAs quantum wells show that higher-order optical effects are considerably sensitive to intense laser field and can be adjusted by a correct choice of asymmetry parameters of the potential.  相似文献

The problem of nonlinear optical sum-frequency generation and second harmonic generation is solved by a method neglecting changes of statistics of generating radiations. It is shown here that the increase of fluctuation levels in subfrequency radiations reduces the total efficiency of the sum-frequency generation, whilst in the degenerate case the second harmonic generation is accelerated with an increasing fluctuation level in the fundamental radiation. Total efficiencies of real nonlinear processes are estimated at the end of the paper.  相似文献
