光子晶体光纤的弯曲损耗振荡特性分析 总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1
综合运用弯曲光纤的等效直光纤模型、全矢量频域有限差分法及各向异性完全匹配层吸收边界,计算了两种类型(折射率引导型和带隙型)光子晶体光纤(PCF)的弯曲损耗.通过数值模拟弯曲损耗随弯曲半径的变化关系,证实了两种光子晶体光纤均具有弯曲损耗振荡特性.进而分析了两种光子晶体光纤弯曲损耗振荡的产生机理并给出了与损耗峰对应的包层模式.结果表明,振荡的产生源于基模与包层模式的耦合,其中,折射率引导型光子晶体光纤的弯曲损耗振荡机理类似于传统双包层光纤,带隙型光子晶体光纤弯曲损耗振荡的产生则是两种不同类型的包层模式共同作用的结果. 相似文献

传统光纤包层中仅存在泄漏的倏逝波,能量较小,不利于包层传感的应用。增大包层中的能量,实现整体包层导光是提高光纤传感灵敏度的有效途径。从理论上分析了利用空芯带隙型光子晶体光纤(HC-PCF)包层进行导光的机理。在实验上选用带隙外的冷光源和激光对一种典型结构的HC-PCF进行了空气孔包层的导光实验,并利用折射率引导型光子晶体光纤和单模光纤进行对比实验。结果表明,带隙范围外光波在HC-PCF中传输时将不受禁带效应的约束泄露至包层中重新分布。包层中SiO2与空气孔的周期型结构将光波约束在高折射率介质中,实现HC-PCF整体空气孔包层中光波的稳定传输。PBG-PCF包层的整体导光在传感上有提高灵敏度的潜在价值。 相似文献

设计了一种基于混合导光型光子晶体光纤的波分解复用器,该波分解复用器同时具有折射率导光型光子晶体光纤和带隙导光型光子晶体光纤的特点,可用于稀疏型波分复用系统中.设计的稀疏型波分解复用器由一段三芯光子晶体光纤组成,通过填充不同折射率的材料.形成了混合导光型光子晶体光纤.根据耦合模原理,在临近的波导中,当传播常数相等时,模式之间发生强烈耦合.能量在波导之间交替.由于填充的材料折射率不同,使得光功率在两个小同的波长上发生耦合,构成了两个不同响应波长的光滤波器.通过选择合适的光纤长度,使得在光纤的输出端,不同波长的光从不同的波导输出,实现波分解复用的功能.采用全矢量有限元法分析了光纤传输特性,计算了不同波长光的耦合长度.采用光束传播法仿真发现,长度为4.3 mm的光纤能实现波长为1.31μm和1.55μm光的解复用. 相似文献

掺铒孔辅助导光光纤是由掺铒的高折射率纤芯、低折射率包层和少量的空气孔组成. 采用有限元法分析了掺铒孔辅助导光光纤的模式特性;给出了数值计算截止波长和模场直径的方法;提出了改进的平均粒子数反转度迭代算法来数值计算掺铒光纤放大器的增益和噪声系数. 研究空气孔对掺铒孔辅助导光光纤的截止波长、模场直径和放大器的增益系数的影响. 发现:减小相对孔芯距的值,可使截止波长向短波长移动,减小模场直径的值;当孔的相对大小较大时,截止波长、模场直径和增益的最大值基本上不随孔的相对大小的增大而改变. 最后,综合考虑掺铒光纤基模和二阶模的截止波长、与普通单模光纤的熔接损耗、放大器的增益和噪声系数等因素,优化设计了掺铒孔辅助导光光纤的四个结构参量——纤芯半径、纤芯与包层的折射率差、相对孔芯距和孔的相对大小.

长周期光纤光栅是在光纤纤芯中沿轴向形成折射率周期性调制的带阻型光纤器件。与光纤布拉格光栅不同,它表现为前向传播的纤芯基模与同向传播的各阶次包层模式在特定波长的耦合。研究了纤芯基模、包层模式(HE1t/EH1t)及其有效折射率随波长的变化,研究了纤芯基模与包层模式(HE1t/EH1t)的耦合系数。研究表明,纤芯基模与一阶低次包层模式的有效折射率随波长增大而减小,纤芯基模与HE1t产生的耦合系数远大于与EH1t的耦合系数,并且包层模式次数较低时,耦合系数随次数的升高而增加。这与以前的研究结果有所不同。 相似文献

A novel dispersion compensating fiber (DCF) with multiple windows is proposed, which is based on hybrid photonic crystal fibers. This type of DCF has a characteristic of multiple negative dispersion windows by the coupling between the hybrid guiding mode in the boundary of each band-gap of the core region and the index guiding mode in the cladding defect area. This is entirely different from the ordinary dual-core mechanism. The proposed DCF can compensate multiple dispersion wavelengths at the same time. 相似文献

We report the development of theory and experiment for the characterization of polarization maintaining photonic crystal fiber (PM PCF) from far field intensity measurements. In this specially designed photonic crystal fiber, the air hole diameters along orthogonal axes adjacent to the core region are different, and hence create an effective index difference between the two orthogonal polarization modes. From the experimental measurements of the far field radiation pattern, we obtain transmission characteristics of PM PCF in terms of mode field diameters (MFD), V-values along major and minor axes, mode field area, birefringence, core radius, effective refractive index of cladding and numerical apertures along major and minor axes of PM PCFs. It is shown that the experimentally obtained geometrical and wave guiding parameters of the PM PCF match with the manufacturer/simulation/scanning electron microscope (SEM) data within the experimental limits. 相似文献

We report synoptically an investigation of design, fabrication and characterization of a new all-solid photonic bandgap fiber. By introducing an index depressed layer around a high index core in every unit cell of photonic crystal cladding, a novel all-solid bandgap fiber is predicted to obtain low confinement and bend losses within low-order bandgaps. After optimizing the structure parameters, we fabricate a batch of rods used for cladding cells, select a pure-silica rod for core cell and an inner-hexagonal jacket tube. We demonstrate an all-solid bandgap fiber with the transmission loss as low as 2 dB/km at 1,310 nm and a bandwidth of over 700 nm within the first bandgap. The guiding properties are also measured, respectively, such as transmission spectrum, attenuation spectrum, bend loss, mode field intensity profile, and chromatic dispersion. 相似文献

Fiber in-line Mach-Zehnder interferometer constructed by selective infiltration of two air holes in photonic crystal fiber 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A fiber in-line Mach-Zehnder interferometer is fabricated through selective infiltrating of two adjacent air holes of the innermost layer in the solid core photonic crystal fiber, assisted by femtosecond laser micromachining. The liquid infiltrated has higher refractive index than that of the background silica, and, hence, the two rods created can support a guide mode with lower effective refractive index than that of silica. The interference is produced by the fiber fundamental mode and the guide mode. The free spectral range (FSR) of the interferometer is found to be dependent on the photonic crystal fiber length, and a large FSR corresponds to a short photonic crystal fiber length. Such an interferometer device is robust and exhibits extremely high temperature sensitivity (~7.3?nm/°C for the photonic crystal fiber length of 3.4?cm) and flexible operation capability. 相似文献

对光子晶体光纤包层3个空气孔之间节区的传光特性进行了分析, 对比了纤芯与包层节区传光的模场面积、非线性系数及色散特性, 得到光子晶体光纤包层节区具有小芯、高非线性的特点.在包层空气孔较大的情况下, 得到了双零色散曲线.根据色散曲线, 分析了色散波产生的相位匹配特性, 得到了色散波中心波长随抽运波长及功率的变化规律.制备出了所设计的光子晶体光纤, 实验得到了在可见光及红外大于300 nm的宽带色散波, 并给出了色散波随抽运波长及功率的变化规律.实验和理论分析结果一致, 为波长变换及超连续宽带光源的研究奠定了基础.

光纤结构设计、模间色散求解、光纤光栅模式耦合等问题的研究, 都需要对光纤纤芯及包层模的有效折射率进行精确计算. 本文以光纤三层结构模型为基础, 结合该模型下的模式本征方程, 使用截弦法求解了纤芯模有效折射率, 并将计算结果与COMSOL软件模拟的对应纤芯模的传输光场进行对比, 验证了计算结果正确.使用区间遍历算法对包层模有效折射率进行了求解, 与已有的传统方法相比, 该方法可以有效防止求解过程中根的遗漏、避免特征方程产生的奇点, 并能保证模式的正规性.本文采用Mathematica软件对求解过程进行仿真, 获得了纤芯模和包层模有效折射率与波长关系曲线.

A highly sensitive miniature photonic crystal fiber refractive index sensor based on field mode excitation is presented. The sensor is fabricated by melting one end of a photonic crystal fiber into a rounded tip and splicing and collapsing the other end with a single-mode fiber. The rounded tip is able to induce cladding mode excitation, which resulted in an additional phase delay. Linear response of 262.28 nm/refractive index unit in the refractive index range of 1.337 to 1.395 is obtained for the physical length of a 953 μm sensor. The sensor is also shown to be insensitive to environmental temperature. 相似文献

对2 m波段脉冲激光泵浦碲化物光子晶体光纤产生中红外超连续谱进行了数值研究。通过材料的拉曼增益谱间接求得了对应的拉曼响应函数;由光子晶体光纤的材料折射率和波导结构,通过COMSOL软件获得了碲化物光子晶体光纤中基模等效折射率,计算了相应的色散曲线和限制损耗 ;利用自适应的分步傅里叶算法,模拟了中心波长为1.96m、峰值功率为20 kW的50 fs脉冲光泵浦碲化物光子晶体光纤时超连续谱的产生,当光纤长度为6 cm时,产生的中红外超连续谱波长范围为1.0~4.5 m。 相似文献
