Thermal stability of Ag films in air prepared by thermal evaporation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The thermal stability of silver films in air has been studied. Pure Ag films, 250 nm in thickness, were prepared on glass substrates by thermal evaporation process, and subsequently annealed in air for 1 h at temperatures between 200 and 400 °C. The structure and morphology of the samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectra and atomic force microscopy. It is found that the crystallization enhances for the annealed films, and film surface becomes oxidized when annealing temperature is higher than 350 °C. The electrical and optical properties of the films were studied by van der Pauw method and spectrophotometer, respectively. Reflectance drops sharply as Ag films are annealed at temperatures above 250 °C. Film annealed at 250 °C has the maximum surface roughness and the minimum reflectance at 600 nm optical wavelength. Film annealed at 200 °C has the minimum resistivity, and resistivity increases with the increasing of the annealing temperature when temperature is above 200 °C. The results show that both oxidization on film surface and agglomeration of silver film result in infinite of electrical resistivity as the annealing temperature is above 350 °C.  相似文献

Ag2Cu2O3 films were deposited on glass substrates by reactive sputtering of a composite silver-copper target. The deposited films were annealed in air at 100, 200 and 300 °C. The structure of the films was studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), their surface morphology was characterised using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and their electrical resistivity at room temperature was measured using the four point probe method. The 100 °C annealing did not modify either the film structure or the film morphology. On the other hand, Ag2Cu2O3 films were partially decomposed into Ag and CuO after a 200 °C annealing. The decomposition was complete for a 300 °C annealing. The evolution of the film surface morphology as a function of the annealing temperature was discussed in connection to the evolution of the molar volume of the phases constituting the films.  相似文献

Tin oxide has been prepared by thermal oxidation of evaporated tin thin films onto pyrex glass substrates. Films oxidation was achieved in air at a temperature of 600 °C with varied duration from 20min to 3 h. Structural, optical and electrical properties of the films were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction, UV–vis spectroscopy and electrical resistivity measurements respectively. The X-ray analysis revealed the transformation of Sn into SnO2 with preferential orientation along (101) plans. No intermediate phases such as SnO and Sn3O4 were evidenced. It was also found that the SnO2 crystallites orientation changed with the annealing time due to the strain energy effect. Both band gap energy and electrical resistivity decrease with annealing time due to the crystalline quality improvement and films densification. We have noticed that oxidation at 600 °C for 3 h leads to transparent and conductive films with suitable properties for photovoltaic applications.  相似文献

Ag-doped ZnO (ZnO:Ag) thin films were grown on glass substrates by E-beam evaporation technique. The structural, electrical and optical properties of the films were investigated as a function of annealing temperature. The films were subjected to post annealing at different temperatures in the range of 350-650 °C in an air ambient. All the as grown and annealed films at temperature of 350 °C showed p-type conduction. The films lost p-type conduction after post annealing treatment temperature of above 350 °C, suggesting a narrow post annealing temperature window for the fabrication of p-type ZnO:Ag films. ZnO:Ag film annealed at 350 °C revealed lowest resistivity of 7.25 × 10−2 Ω cm with hole concentration and mobility of 5.09 × 1019 cm−3 and 1.69 cm2/V s, respectively. Observation of a free-to-neutral-acceptor (e,Ao) and donor-acceptor-pair (DAP) emissions in the low temperature photoluminescence measurement confirms p-type conduction in the ZnO:Ag films.  相似文献

We have prepared SrTiO3/BaTiO3 thin films with multilayered structures deposited on indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass by a sol-gel deposition and heating at 300-650 °C. The optical properties were obtained by UV-vis spectroscopy. The films show a high transmittance (approximately 85%) in the visible region. The optical band gap of the films is tunable in the 3.64-4.19 eV range by varying the annealing temperature. An abrupt decrease towards the bulk band gap value is observed at annealing temperatures above 600 °C. The multilayered film annealed at 650 ° C exhibited the maximum refractive index of 2.09-1.91 in the 450-750 nm wavelength range. The XRD and AFM results indicate that the films annealed above 600 ° C are substantially more crystalline than the films prepared at lower temperatures which were used to change their optical band gap and complex refractive index to an extent that depended on the annealing temperature.  相似文献

Tin oxide (SnO2) thin films (about 200 nm thick) have been deposited by electron beam evaporation followed by annealing in air at 350-550 °C for two hours. Optical, electrical and structural properties were studied as a function of annealing temperature. The as-deposited film is amorphous, while all other annealed films are crystalline (having tetragonal structure). XRD suggest that the films are composed of nanoparticles of 5-10 nm. Raman analysis and optical measurements suggest quantum confinement effects that are enhanced with annealing temperature. For instance, Raman peaks of the as-deposited films are blue-shifted as compared to those for bulk SnO2. Blue shift becomes more pronounced with annealing temperature. Optical band gap energy of amorphous SnO2 film is 3.61 eV, which increases to about 4.22 eV after crystallization. Two orders of magnitude decrease in resistivity is observed after annealing at 350-400 °C due to structural ordering and crystallization. The resistivity, however, increases slightly with annealing temperature above 400 °C, possibly due to improvement in stoichiometry and associated decrease in charge carrier density.  相似文献

ZnO thin films were grown using Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method on glass substrates at room temperature. Annealing temperatures and film thickness effect on the structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of the films were studied. For this as-deposited films were annealed at 200, 300, 400 and 500 °C for 30 min in oxygen atmosphere. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies showed that the films are covered well with glass substrates and have good polycrystalline structure and crystalline levels. The film thickness effect on band gap values was investigated and band gap values were found to be within the range of 3.49-3.19 eV. The annealing temperature and light effect on electrical properties of the films were investigated and it was found that the current increased with increasing light intensity. The resistivity values were found as 105 Ω-cm for as-deposited films from electrical measurements. The resistivity decreased decuple with annealing temperature and decreased centuple with light emission for annealed films.  相似文献

Highly transparent conductive Al2O3 doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films have been deposited on the glass substrate by pulsed laser deposition technique. The effects of substrate temperature and post-deposition annealing treatment on structural, electrical and optical properties of AZO thin films were investigated. The experimental results show that the electrical resistivity of films deposited at 240 °C is 6.1 × 10−4 Ω cm, which can be further reduced to as low as 4.7 × 10−4 Ω cm by post-deposition annealing at 400 °C for 2 h in argon. The average transmission of AZO films in the visible range is 90%. The optical direct band gap of films was dependent on the substrate temperature and the annealing treatment in argon. The optical direct band gap value of AZO films increased with increasing annealing temperature.  相似文献

A simple and reproducible method for the preparation of gold films on mica with large (typically 0.8-1.0 μm) atomically flat (1 1 1) terraces is described. The procedure involves thin gold film evaporation onto freshly cleaved mica substrates, followed by 1 min annealing at 650 °C under nitrogen. The annealed gold surfaces are compared to those of freshly evaporated gold films on mica using cyclic voltammetry and atomic force microscopy. Our results favorably compare to other published annealing techniques, with minimal equipment and time necessary to reproducibly obtain atomically flat gold terraces.  相似文献

Tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) films with 200 nm thickness were deposited on glass substrates by DC magnetron sputtering at room temperature. And they were annealed by rapid thermal annealing (RTA) method in vacuum ambient at different temperature for 60 s. The effect of annealing temperature on the structural, electrical and optical properties of ITO films was investigated. As the RTA temperature increases, the resistivity of ITO films decreases dramatically, and the transmittance in the visible region increases obviously. The ITO film annealed at 600 °C by RTA in vacuum shows a resistivity of 1.6 × 10−4 Ω cm and a transmittance of 92%.  相似文献

Nb-doped TiO2 (TNO) thin films were prepared by sol-gel dip-coating method with Nb content in a wide range of 0-20 at.%. The prepared films were preheated at 400 °C and then undertaken by two different post-annealing processes: (a) three times vacuum annealing and (b) multi-round annealing. The designed multi-round annealing was shown to be an effective way to improve the conductive properties of the films, compared to the traditional vacuum annealing process. The minimum resistivity reached approximately 0.5 Ω cm with Nb doping concentration around 12 at.%, and the carrier density increased with Nb-doping concentration until the critical point of 12 at.%, which might be the optimal doping content for our TNO films prepared by sol-gel method.  相似文献

Uniform, adherent, single phase samarium doped ceria films have been successfully deposited by spray pyrolysis technique for their application in solid oxide fuel cell. These films have been deposited at different substrate temperatures on glass substrate and subsequently heat treated in tube furnace. Effect of substrate temperature and annealing temperature on phase formation was studied with thermo-gravimetric analysis and differential temperature analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and energy dispersive X-ray analysis techniques. These studies showed the formation of single phase Ce0.8Sm0.2O1.9 films, at substrate temperature 400 °C and annealing temperature 550 °C. Electrical resistivity of the films, at room temperature was of the order of 107 Ω cm while at 400 °C it is found to be of the order of 101 Ω cm. This reveals the use of these films for making low temperature solid oxide fuel cells.  相似文献

Tin oxide (SnO2) thin films were deposited by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering on clean corning glass substrates. These films were then annealed for 15 min at various temperatures in the range of 100-500°C. The films were investigated by studying their structural and electrical properties. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results suggested that the deposited SnO2 films were formed by nanoparticles with average particle size in the range of 23-28 nm. XRD patterns of annealed films showed the formation of small amount of SnO phase in the matrix of SnO2. The initial surface RMS roughness measured with atomic force microscopy (AFM) was 25.76 nm which reduces to 17.72 nm with annealing. Electrical resistivity was measured as a function of annealing temperature and found to lie between 1.25 and 1.38 mΩ cm. RMS roughness and resistivity show almost opposite trend with annealing.  相似文献

Experimental investigations of the substrate deposition temperature and annealing temperature influence on aluminum films deposited on diamond substrates were conducted. Tests were performed at direct current and at 101.55 GHz. Minimum resistivity levels, near theoretical predictions, occurred for deposition temperatures in the range of 50–160°C and for peak annealing temperatures of 100–120°C. Both colder and hotter substrate temperatures resulted in larger resistivity levels.  相似文献

Zirconium doped zinc oxide thin films with enhanced optical transparency were prepared on Corning 1737 glass substrates at the substrate temperature of 400 °C by spray pyrolysis method for various doping concentrations of zirconium (IV) chloride in the spray solution. The X-ray diffraction studies reveal that the films exhibit hexagonal crystal structure with polycrystalline grains oriented along (0 0 2) direction. The crystalline quality of the films is found to be deteriorating with the increase of doping concentration and acquires amorphous state for higher concentration of 8 at.% in precursor solution. The average transmittance for 5 at.% (solution) zirconium doped ZnO film is significantly increased to ∼92% in the visible region of 500-800 nm. The room temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectra of films show a band edge between 3.41 and 3.2 eV and strong blue emission at 2.8 eV irrespective of doping concentration and however intensity increases consistently with doping levels. The vacuum annealing at 400 °C reduced the resistivity of the films significantly due to the coalescence of grains and the lowest resistivity of 2 × 10−3 Ω cm is observed for 3 at.% (solution) Zr doped ZnO films which envisages that it is a good candidate for stable TCO material.  相似文献

Indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) on glass substrate at room temperature. Structural, optical, and electrical properties of these films were analyzed in order to investigate its dependence on oxygen pressure, and rapid thermal annealing (RTA) temperature. High quality ITO films with a low resistivity of 3.3 × 10−4 Ω cm and a transparency above 90% were able to be formed at an oxygen pressure of 2.0 Pa and an RTA temperature of 400 °C. A four-point probe method, X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and UV-NIR grating spectrometer are used to investigate the properties of ITO films.  相似文献

Zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films were deposited on microscope glass substrates by sol-gel spin coating method. Zinc acetate (ZnAc) dehydrate was used as the starting salt material source. A homogeneous and stable solution was prepared by dissolving ZnAc in the solution of monoethanolamine (MEA). ZnO thin films were obtained after preheating the spin coated thin films at 250 °C for 5 min after each coating. The films, after the deposition of the eighth layer, were annealed in air at temperatures of 300 °C, 400 °C and 500 °C for 1 h. The effect of thermal annealing in air on the physical properties of the sol-gel derived ZnO thin films are studied. The powder and its thin film were characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) method. XRD analysis revealed that the annealed ZnO thin films consist of single phase ZnO with wurtzite structure (JCPDS 36-1451) and show the c-axis grain orientation. Increasing annealing temperature increased the c-axis orientation and the crystallite size of the film. The annealed films are highly transparent with average transmission exceeding 80% in the visible range (400-700 nm). The measured optical band gap values of the ZnO thin films were between 3.26 eV and 3.28 eV, which were in the range of band gap values of intrinsic ZnO (3.2-3.3 eV). SEM analysis of annealed thin films has shown a completely different surface morphology behavior.  相似文献

Ion bombardment induced mixing of Ta-Si films has been studied using 400 keV argon ions. Doses varied from 7×1014 to 1×1017 Ar+ cm–2 with post-bombardment anneals of 180–900 s at temperatures in the range 600–860 °C using radiant heating. Silicide uniformity and stoichiometry were determined using alpha backscattering spectrometry. Optimum fabrication parameters were determined with regard to subsequent material sheet resistivity, temperature coefficient of resistance and application as a temperature sensing material. Similar measurements were made on CoSi2 layers prepared by annealing ion bombarded samples and comparison with silicide films arising from purely thermal annealing was made.CoSi2 was found to be the more suitable material for temperature-sensor applications, showing a positive linear variation in sheet resistivity in the range 0–400 °C for samples which could be prepared simply and reproducibly.  相似文献

The influence of annealing (up to 900 °C) on the absorption edge and the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity of amorphous silicon (a-Si) thin layers prepared by cathode sputtering is reported. Up to 400 °C the changes by annealing on the above mentioned properties are explained by the decrease of the density of states within the mobility gap. At higher temperatures, two processes start to play role: the crystalization of the layer and the probable contamination, especially by oxygen. We thank Dr. M.Rozsíval for testing our samples by the electron diffraction.  相似文献

Poly-crystalline germanium (poly-Ge) thin films have potential for lowering the manufacturing cost of photovoltaic devices especially in tandem solar cells, but high crystalline quality would be required. This work investigates the crystallinity of sputtered Ge thin films on glass prepared by in situ growth and ex situ solid-phase crystallization (SPC). Structural properties of the films were characterized by Raman, X-ray diffraction and ultraviolet-visible reflectance measurements. The results show the transition temperature from amorphous to polycrystalline is between 255 °C and 280 °C for in situ grown poly-Ge films, whereas the transition temperature is between 400 °C and 500 °C for films produced by SPC for a 20 h annealing time. The in situ growth in situ crystallized poly-Ge films at 450 °C exhibit significantly better crystalline quality than those formed by solid-phase crystallization at 600 °C. High crystalline quality at low substrate temperature obtained in this work suggests the poly-Ge films could be promising for use in thin film solar cells on glass.  相似文献
