This work presents the optimum conditions of dissolution of copper in copper converter slag in sulphuric acid ferric sulphate mixtures in the presence and absence of ultrasound. The Taguchi method was used to determine the optimum conditions. The parameters investigated were the reaction temperature, acid concentration, ferric sulphate concentration and reaction time. The optimum conditions for the maximum dissolution of copper were determined as follows: reaction temperature, 65 °C; acid concentration, 0.2 M; ferric sulphate concentration, 0.15 M; reaction time 180 min. Under these conditions, extraction efficiency of copper, zinc, cobalt, and iron from slag were 89.28%, 51.32%, 69.87%, and 13.73%, respectively, in the presence of ultrasound, while they are 80.41%, 48.28%, 64.52%, and 12.16%, respectively, in the absence of ultrasound. As seen from the above results, it is clear that ultrasound enhances on the dissolution of Cu, Zn, Co and Fe in the slag.  相似文献

The effects of thiourea derivatives, namely N-methyl thiourea (MTU), N-propyl thiourea (PTU) and N-allyl thiourea (ATU) on the corrosion behaviour of iron in 1.0 M solution of HNO3 have been investigated in relation to the concentration of thiourea derivatives. The experimental data obtained using the techniques of weight loss, Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, EIS. The results showed that these compounds revealed a good corrosion inhibition, (ATU) being the most efficient and (MTU) the least. Computational studies have been used to find the most stable adsorption sites for thiourea derivatives. This information help to gain further insight about corrosion system, such as the most likely point of attack for corrosion on iron (1 1 0), the most stable site for thiourea derivatives adsorption and the binding energy of the adsorbed layer. The efficiency order of the inhibitors obtained by experimental results was verified by theoretical analysis.  相似文献

In the process of steel manufacture, up to ten millions of tons of sintering dust (SD) are produced annually in China, which contain noble metals such as Ag. Therefore, recovery of silver (Ag) from SD could be a potential economic and environmental activity. The purpose of this article is to generate information about reaction kinetics of silver leaching with thiourea from SD, comparing the conventional and ultrasonic-augment leaching. The effects of various control parameters such as the ultrasound power, particle size, leaching temperature and thiourea concentration on leaching rate of silver were studied. The results showed 89% silver recovery for conventional process against 95% for ultrasound assisted leaching. The ultrasonic wave increased the leaching rate and shorten the reaction time. The rate controlling step was analyzed using shrinking core model and the rate controlling step is identified to be the diffusion through the product layer in both conventional and ultrasonic-augment leaching processes. The activation energies were estimated to be 28.01 kJ/mol and 18.19 kJ/mol, and the reaction order were 0.89 and 0.71, respectively.  相似文献

This work reports experimental kinetic data of solvent-free glycerolysis of olive oil using a commercial immobilized lipase (Novozym 435) under the influence of ultrasound irradiation. The experiments were performed in a mechanically stirred reactor under ultrasound irradiation, evaluating the effects of temperature (50-70 °C), enzyme concentration (2.5-10 wt%) and glycerol to oil molar ratio (0.8:1-3:1). Results show that ultrasound-assisted lipase-catalyzed glycerolysis might be a potential alternative route to conventional methods, as high contents of reaction products, especially monoglycerides, were achieved at mild irradiation power supply (∼130 W) and temperature, in a relatively short reaction time (2 h) and low enzyme content (7.5 wt%). To completeness, two simplified kinetic modeling approaches, based on the ordered-sequential bi bi mechanism and reaction stoichiometry, were employed to represent the experimental data, thus allowing a better understanding of the reaction kinetics.  相似文献

Diacylglycerol oil has been increasingly recognized by its good nutritional properties and therefore, different technologies have been developed for obtaining it. The present work focuses on the diacylglycerol production by hydrolysis reaction of the palm oil using the PS IM and TL IM commercial lipases as biocatalysts under ultrasound irradiation. An experimental design (central composite rotatable design - CCRD) adopting surface response was applied as a tool to evaluate the optimal reaction conditions beyond a restrict number of experiments. Reactions were performed in an ultrasound equipment and different variables were investigated, such as temperature (30-55 °C), enzyme content (1-2 wt.% of oil mass), mechanical stirring (300-700 rpm) and reaction time. Both, PS IM and TL IM enzymes showed the best results after 1 h and 30 min of reaction under 30 °C and, applying 300 rpm as stirring. On these conditions, the diacylglycerol yield was around 34% and 39%, respectively; considering that 1% PS IM was applied for the first one and, 2% TL IM for the second one. Therefore, it was obtained good yield of a diacylglycerol-rich oil in shorter reaction times under sonication and soft conditions. The mathematic model proposed suggested a satisfactorily representation of the process and good correlation among the experimental results and the theoretical values predicted by the model equation were achieved.  相似文献

This study presents a high-efficient and cost-effective ultrasound-assisted strategy for one-bath one-step scouring and bleaching of cotton/spandex fabric using sodium percarbonate (SPC) and tetraacetylenediamine (TAED) couple. SPC plays both roles of pH regulator and H2O2 donor to initiate the peracetic acid (PAA) release from TAED. The significance and interaction effects of operating parameters (TAED concentration, temperature and time) on the WI (Whiteness Index) of fabrics were investigated through a central composite design. The bleaching mechanism was studied by exploring the relationship between WI and PAA and hydroxyl radical (HO·) concentrations. The mechanical and dyeing performances of treated fabrics were also evaluated. Results show that temperature exerted a significant impact on WI followed by TAED concentration and time. The PAA concentration decreased and HO· concentration increased upon the temperature rise. Both PAA and HO· were significant to upgrade WI and ultrasound was effective in enhancing their bleaching efficiency. The fabric treated only with 15 mmol/L TAED and 10 mmol/L SPC at 40 °C for 40 min under ultrasound could achieve a WI of 68.6 (43% higher than greige fabric), which was almost equivalent to that of the fabric treated at 60 °C without ultrasound. This verifies the contribution of ultrasound technology in reducing bleaching temperature for energy-saving purpose. Moreover, the treated fabric displayed less than 5% tensile strength loss, having a marginal impact on the apparel performance. The wettability of fabric was greatly improved leading to a good dyeing performance. Encouraging results demonstrate the high efficiency of the ultrasound-assisted pre-treatment process of cotton/spandex fabric, which contributes to the sustainable production of textiles.  相似文献

The sonochemical acceleration of bleaching of Rhodamine B by sodium hypochlorite has been studied using ultrasound intensities in the range 0-7 W cm(-2). Using a 20 kHz ultrasonic horn, it was shown that ultrasound could significantly shorten the treatment time and/or the concentration of hypochlorite required for the reaction. A number of intermediate species formed during the reaction have been identified. It was demonstrated that the same sonochemical reactions occur during the use of dental ultrasound instruments of the type used in endodontics where hypochlorite solutions act as disinfectants. Results showed pseudo-first order degradation kinetics for the degradation of Rhodamine B for both types of source. Both the distribution of cavitation and the resulting bleaching reactions were dependent on the design of the tips. The bleaching reaction can therefore be used to characterise the behaviour of dental instruments and aid in the optimisation of their performance.  相似文献

This work reports the transesterification of soybean oil with ethanol using two commercial immobilized lipases under the influence of ultrasound irradiation. The experiments were performed in an ultrasonic water bath, following a sequence of experimental designs to assess the effects of temperature, enzyme and water concentrations, oil to ethanol molar ratio and output irradiation power on the reaction yield. Results show that ultrasound-assisted lipase-catalyzed transesterification of soybean oil with ethanol might be a potential alternative route to conventional alkali-catalyzed method, as high reaction yields (∼90 wt.%) were obtained at mild irradiation power supply (∼100 W), and temperature (60 °C) in a relatively short reaction time, 4 h, using Lipozyme RM IM as catalyst. The repeated use of the catalyst under the optimum experimental condition resulted in a decay in both enzyme activity and product conversion after two cycles. The use of Novozym 435 led to lower conversions (about 57%) but the enzyme activity was stable after eight cycles of use, showing, however, a reduction in product conversion after the forth cycle.  相似文献

The intensity of optically stimulated luminescence may be decreased to a slow or medium component of its decay curve by optical bleaching, that is, by prolonged exposure of the luminescent sample to stimulating light. In this paper, we report on the influence of irradiation and measurement temperature on luminescence lifetimes as well as on the effect of measurement temperature on luminescence intensity in annealed natural quartz from Nigeria. Measurements were carried out in the slow component region using time-resolved optical stimulation at 470 nm on samples annealed at 500 and 600 °C. Luminescence lifetimes were determined from the resultant time-resolved luminescence spectra by analysing the portion of each spectrum after the stimulating light pulse of duration 11 μs. In preparatory tests, the influence of the duration of optical bleaching on lifetimes was investigated. It was found that lifetimes in samples annealed at 500 °C are independent of the duration of optical bleaching, whereas lifetimes in quartz annealed at 600 °C are affected, decreasing towards a constant value with duration of bleaching. Concerning measurements in the slow-component region, lifetimes were found to decrease with irradiation dose for samples annealed at either 500 or 600 °C. The temperature dependence of lifetimes in both sets of quartz is similar with lifetimes constant at about 36 μs between 20 and 120 °C, but decreasing consistently from then on to about 5 μs at 200 °C, the maximum measurement temperature used in experiments. The luminescence intensity was observed to typically go through a peak as the stimulation temperature was increased from 20 to 200 °C, following a brief initial decrease, a change better exemplified in the quartz annealed at 600 °C. The initial decrease in luminescence intensity is attributed to the dominance of optical stimulation over thermal stimulation. On the other hand, the subsequent change of luminescence intensity with temperature is discussed as evidence of thermal assistance to optical stimulation, initially with activation energy of 0.27±0.07 eV and of thermal quenching subsequently with activation energy equal to 0.93±0.23 eV for samples annealed at either 500 or 600 °C. The temperature dependence of lifetimes is explained as showing increased thermal effect on lifetimes with activation energy values within 0.83±0.01 eV. On the other hand, the influence of irradiation on lifetimes is accounted for in terms of an energy band model for quartz consisting of three luminescence centres and one non-radiative recombination centre.  相似文献

Degradation of the antibiotics amoxicillin in aqueous solution using sulphate radicals under ultrasound irradiation was investigated. The preliminary studies of optimal degradation methodology were conducted with only oxone (2KHSO5·KHSO4·K2SO4), cobalt activated oxone (oxone/Co2+), oxone + ultrasonication (oxone/US) and cobalt activated oxone + ultrasonication (oxone/Co2+/US). The chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency were in the order of oxone < oxone/Co2+ < oxone/US < oxone/Co2+/US for the amoxicillin solution. The variables considered for the effect of degradation were the temperature, the power of ultrasound, the concentration of oxone, as well as catalyst and the initial amoxicillin concentration. More than 98% of COD removal was achieved within 60 min under optimum operational conditions. Comparative analysis revealed that the sulfate radicals had the high oxidation potential and the use of ultrasound irradiation reduced the energy barrier of the reaction and increased the COD removal efficiency of organic pollutants. The degradation of amoxicillin follows the first-order kinetics.  相似文献

The possibility of reducing the temperature of conventional wool dyeing with an acid levelling dye using ultrasound was studied in order to reach exhaustion values comparable to those obtained with the standard procedure at 98 °C, obtaining dyed samples of good quality. The aim was to develop a laboratory method that could be transferred at industrial level, reducing both the energy consumption and fiber damage caused by the prolonged exposure to high temperature without the use of polluting auxiliary agents.Dyeings of wool fabrics were carried out in the temperature range between 60 °C and 80 °C using either mechanical or ultrasound agitation of the bath and coupling the two methods to compare the results. For each dyeing, the exhaustion curves of the dye bath were determined and the better results of dyeing kinetics were obtained with ultrasound coupled with mechanical stirring. Hence the corresponding half dyeing times, absorption rate constants according to Cegarra-Puente modified equation and ultrasonic efficiency were calculated in comparison with mechanical stirring alone. In the presence of ultrasound the absorption rate constants increased by at least 50%, at each temperature, confirming the synergic effect of sonication on the dyeing kinetics. Moreover the apparent activation energies were also evaluated and the positive effect of ultrasound was ascribed to the pre-exponential factor of the Arrhenius equation. It was also shown that the effect of ultrasound at 60 °C was just on the dye bath, practically unaffecting the wool fiber surface, as confirmed by the results of SEM analysis. Finally, fastness tests to rubbing and domestic laundering yielded good values for samples dyed in ultrasound assisted process even at the lower temperature. These results suggest the possibility, thanks to the use of ultrasound, to obtain a well equalized dyeing on wool working yet at 60 °C, a temperature process strongly lower than 98 °C, currently used in industry, which damages the mechanical properties of the fibers.  相似文献

The initial stages of iron silicide growth on the Si(1 0 0)2 × 1 surface during solid-phase synthesis were investigated by photoelectron spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation. The experiments were made on iron films of 1-50 monolayer (ML) thickness in the temperature range from room temperature to 750 °С. Our results support the existence of three stages in the Fe deposition on Si(1 0 0) at room temperature, which include formation of the Fe-Si solid solution, Fe3Si silicide and an iron film. The critical Fe dose necessary for the solid solution to be transformed to the silicide is found to be 5 ML. The solid-phase reaction was found to depend on the deposited metal dose. At 5 ML, the reaction begins at 60 °С, and the solid-phase synthesis leads to the formation of only metastable silicides (FeSi with the CsCl-type structure, γ-FeSi2 and α-FeSi2). A specific feature of this process is Si segregation on the silicide films. At a thickness of 15 ML and more, we observed only stable phases, namely, Fe3Si, ε-FeSi and β-FeSi2.  相似文献

Magnetic labeling of living cells creates opportunities for numerous biomedical applications. Here we describe an instantly cell magnetic labeling method based on ultrasound. We present a detailed study on the ultrasound performance of a simple and efficient labeling protocol for H-22 cells in vitro. High frequency focus ultrasound was investigated as an alternative method to achieve instant cell labeling with the magnetic particles without the need for adjunct agents or initiating cell cultures. Mean diameter of 168 nm dextran-T40 coated superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) nanoparticles were prepared by means of classical coprecipitation in solution in our laboratory. H-22 tumor cells suspended in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS, pH=7.2) were exposed to ultrasound at 1.37 MHz for up to 120 s in the presence of SPIOs. The cellular uptake of iron oxide nanoparticles was detected by prussion blue staining. The viability of cells was determined by a trypan blue exclusion test. At 2 W power and 60 s ultrasound exposure in presence of 410 μg/ml SPIOs, H-22 cell labeling efficiency reached 69.4±6.3% and the labeled cells exhibited an iron content of 10.38±2.43 pg per cell. Furthermore, 95.2±3.2% cells remained viable. The results indicated that the ultrasound protocol could be potentially applied to label cells with large-sized magnetic particles. We also calculated the shear stress at the 2 W power and 1.37 MHz used in experiments. The results showed that the shear stress threshold for ultrasonically induced H-22 cell reparable sonoporation was 697 Pa. These findings provide a quantitative guidance in designing ultrasound protocols for cell labeling.  相似文献

The use of ultrasound pre-processing treatment, compared to blanching, to enhance mechanical properties of non-starchy cell wall materials was investigated using carrot as an example. The mechanical properties of carrot tissues were measured by compression and tensile testing after the pre-processing treatment prior to and after retorting. Carrot samples ultrasound treated for 10 min at 60 °C provided a higher mechanical strength (P < 0.05) to the cell wall structure than blanching for the same time period. With the addition of 0.5% CaCl2 in the pre-treatment solution, both blanching and ultrasound treatment showed synergistic effect on enhancing the mechanical properties of retorted carrot pieces. At a relatively short treatment time (10 min at 60 °C) with the use of 0.5% CaCl2, ultrasound treatment achieved similar enhancement to the mechanical strength of retorted carrots to blanching for a much longer time period (i.e. 40 min). The mechanism involved appears to be related to the stress responses present in all living plant matter. However, there is a need to clarify the relative importance of the potential stress mechanisms in order to get a better understanding of the processing conditions likely to be most effective. The amount of ultrasound treatment required is likely to involve low treatment intensities and there are indications from the structural characterisation and mechanical property analyses that the plant cell wall tissues were more elastic than that accomplished using low temperature long time blanching.  相似文献

In current study the influence of ultrasound pre-treatment and drying conditions (microwave power, air temperature) was analysed by the means of drying kinetics, energy consumption and selected quality properties of dried parsley leaves. Ultrasound treatment (US) was compared with conventional treatment – steam blanching. In comparison to untreated material, ultrasound applied at 21 kHz, 12 W/g, contributed to significant reduction of the drying time up to 29.8%. Moreover, the energy expenditures were reduced maximally by 33.6% for parsley dried at 30 °C and 300 W. For this sample the colour retention was the highest, as well. In turn, steam treated parsley was dried maximally by 28.9% faster and thus specific energy consumption decreased to 72.0% of the value for intact leaves when 20 °C and 300 W were set. The influence of pre-drying treatment on the quality properties depended on the drying conditions. Pre-drying treatment (US, blanching) did not affect the lutein content significantly, whereas the most considerable increase of chlorophyll a and b resistance and their relative concentration (Chl a/b ratio) was achieved in US-treated leaves dried at 30 °C and 100 W. The utilisation of drying pre-treatment and dehydration parameters should be considered with respect to further utilisation of dried parsley leaves. Nonetheless, sonication is worth to be taken into account due to a significant reduction of energy expenditures and an improvement of resistance of bioactive components.  相似文献

Copper oxide thin films as solar selective absorbers were conveniently prepared by one-step chemical conversion method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-vis-NIR spectra and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra were employed to characterize the composition, structure and optical properties of thin films. The results indicated that the composition, structure and optical properties of thin films were greatly influenced by reaction temperature, time and concentration of NaOH. When reaction temperature was fixed at 40 °C, the as-prepared films consist of pure cubic Cu2O. The surface morphology of thin films was changed from square-like structure (reaction time ≤ 25 min) to porous belt-like structure (reaction time ≥ 30 min) with the elongation of reaction time. While for thin films prepared at 60 °C and 80 °C, single Cu2O was observed after 5 min reaction. When reaction time is longer than 5 min, CuO appears and the content of CuO is increasing with the elongation of reaction time. With the increase of reaction temperature, the belt-like structure was easily formed for 60 °C/10 min and 80 °C/5 min. Decreasing concentration of NaOH also could result in the formation of CuO and porous belt-like structure. Simultaneously, the film thickness is increasing with the increase of reaction time, temperature and concentration. Films containing CuO with belt-like structure exhibited high absorptance (>0.9), and the emissivity of films increased with elongation of reaction time. Combination of the composition, structure and optical properties, it can be deduced that the porous belt-like structure like as a light trap can greatly enhance absorbance (α), while the composition, thickness and roughness of thin films can greatly influence the emissivity (?). The highest photo-thermal conversion efficiency was up to 0.86 (α/? = 0.94/0.08) for thin films prepared at 80 °C/5 min, which proved that the CuOx thin films can be served as high performance solar selective absorbers.  相似文献

Nucleation, as an important stage of freezing process, can be induced by the irradiation of power ultrasound. In this study, the effect of irradiation temperature (−2 °C, −3 °C, −4 °C and −5 °C), irradiation duration (0 s, 1 s, 3 s, 5 s, 10 s or 15 s) and ultrasound intensity (0.07 W cm−2, 0.14 W cm−2, 0.25 W cm−2, 0.35 W cm−2 and 0.42 W cm−2) on the dynamic nucleation of ice in agar gel samples was studied. The samples were frozen in an ethylene glycol-water mixture (−20 °C) in an ultrasonic bath system after putting them into tubing vials. Results indicated that ultrasound irradiation is able to initiate nucleation at different supercooled temperatures (from −5 °C to −2 °C) in agar gel if optimum intensity and duration of ultrasound were chosen. Evaluation of the effect of 0.25 W cm−2 ultrasound intensity and different durations of ultrasound application on agar gels showed that 1 s was not long enough to induce nucleation, 3 s induced the nucleation repeatedly but longer irradiation durations resulted in the generation of heat and therefore nucleation was postponed. Investigation of the effect of ultrasound intensity revealed that higher intensities of ultrasound were effective when a shorter period of irradiation was used, while lower intensities only resulted in nucleation when a longer irradiation time was applied. In addition to this, higher intensities were not effective at longer irradiation times due to the heat generated in the samples by the heating effect of ultrasound. In conclusion, the use of ultrasound as a means to control the crystallization process offers promising application in freezing of solid foods, however, optimum conditions should be selected.  相似文献

Very stringent environmental regulations have limited the level of sulfur in diesel, therefore deep desulfurization of fuels is required. For that purpose, the frequently used industrial process is hydrodesulfurization (HDS) which enables effective elimination of sulfur compounds such as mercaptanes, thiols, sulfides, disulfides from diesel oil, but removal of thiophene sulfur compounds (benzothiophene, dibenzothiophene, 4,6 dimethyldibenzothiophene) is insufficient. Ultrasound assisted oxidative desulfurization (UAOD) as one of several new technologies enables performance under mild conditions without use of explosive hydrogen. A higher reactivity of thiophene sulfur compounds during UAOD also provides conversion into highly polar sulfoxides and sulfones that are easily removed by adsorption or extraction. Nowadays, different catalyst/oxidants systems are being studied to improve oxidation reaction efficiency and enhance the mass transfer in the interfacial region. In this paper, the effect of reaction temperature (40–70 °C) and oxidation time (5–150 min) for UAOD of model diesel fuel with a catalyst/oxidants system (acetic acid/hydrogen peroxide) was investigated in a 70 ml batch reactor. Furthermore, the effects of different initial concentrations of dibenzothiophene (DBT) and of ultrasound amplitude were additionally examined to achieve efficient sulfur removal. The obtained results indicated that temperature and US amplitude of 70 °C and 80% respectively were efficient for conversion of DBT (sulfur concentration up to 3976.86 ppm). The results indicate a rise in the yield of sulfones at higher temperatures and subsequent extraction with N,N-dimethylformamide conducted after the process of oxidation at different solvent/oil ratio revealed sulfur removal efficiency of 98.35%.  相似文献

The concentration of polyethylene glycol-300 was found to play a crucial role in the formation of nanoparticles in PbS-chemical bath deposition process. We report here an endeavor to set up a relation between the variation of lead sulfide (PbS) nanocrystalline thin film properties, grown by (CBD) process at room temperature on corning glass and Si(100) substrates, with amount fluctuations of polyethylene glycol-300 in the solution. The transmittance of the films, for a fixed reaction time, increased up to ∼ 80% with the increase of % polyethylene glycol-300 in the solution, indicating the formation of very thin films due to the decrease of reaction rate with the increase of the concentration of polyethylene glycol-300. The optical band gaps were found to strongly rely on the composition of the bath deposition and increase with the increase of the polyethylene glycol-300 amount in the solution. Particle sizes between 2.8 and 8.7 nm were obtained by varying the % of polyethylene glycol-300 from 0.2 to 1.5. The concentration of polyethylene glycol-300 not only affects the reaction rate but also the morphology of the obtained films. PbS nanoparticles were found to be oriented preferentially along the < 200> plane. The absorption shifts towards short wavelength indicating a blue-shifting as a consequence of quantum confinement.  相似文献

We report the deposition of thin zirconium dioxide films on Si(1 0 0) by a technique of ultraviolet-assisted injection liquid source chemical vapor deposition (UVILS-CVD) by using ultraviolet with 222 nm radiation. The alkoxide zirconium(IV) tert-butoxide (Zr[OC(CH3)3]4) was used as precursor while nitrous oxide was driven into the reaction chamber as an oxidizing agent. The ZrO2 films were deposited under various conditions and characterized by ellipsometry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The growth rate decreased with the increasing of substrate temperatures from 200 to 400 °C. Deposition rate of 20 nm/min was observed at a substrate temperature of 350 °C. There was a liner relation between the thicknesses of the films and deposition times. As a result the thicknesses can be accurately controlled by changing the number of drops of precursor introduced by the injection liquid source. The growth rate increased with the increasing concentrations of the precursor, nevertheless the trend stopped when the concentration exceeded 8.5%. The growth kinetics were also studied and the results were fit to a three-step kinetic model involving a photo chemical reaction, a reversible precursor absorption process and a following irreversible deposition reaction.  相似文献
