The thin films of materials based on In–Se are under study for their applicability in photovoltaic devices, solid-state batteries and phase-change memories. The amorphous thin films of In2Se3−xTex (x=0–1.5) and InSe were prepared by pulsed laser deposition method (PLD) using a KrF excimer laser beam (λ=248 nm, 0.5 J cm−2) from polycrystalline bulk targets. The compositions of films verified by energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) were close to the compositions of targets. The surfaces of PLD films containing small amount of droplets were viewed by optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The optical properties (transmittance and reflectance spectra, spectral dependence of index of refraction, optical gap, single-oscillator energy, dispersion energy, dielectric constant) of the films were determined. The values of index of refraction increased with increasing substitution of Te for Se in In2Se3 films, the values of the optical gap decreased with increasing substitution of Te for Se in In2Se3 films.  相似文献

Electrochromic molybdenum oxide (MoO3) thin films were prepared by electron beam evaporation technique using the dry MoO3 pellets. The films were deposited on glass and fluorine doped tin oxide (SnO2:F or FTO) coated glass substrates at different substrate temperatures like room temperature (RT, 30 °C), 100 °C and 200 °C. The influence of substrate temperature on the structural, surface morphological and optical properties of the films has been studied. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the films are having orthorhombic phase MoO3 (α-MoO3) with 〈1 1 0〉 preferred orientation. The laser Raman scattering spectrum shows the polycrystalline nature of MoO3 films deposited at 200 °C. The Raman-active band at 993 cm−1 is corresponding to Mo–O stretching mode that is associated with the unique character of the layered structure of orthorhombic MoO3. Needle—like morphology was observed from the SEM analysis. The energy band gap of MoO3 films was evaluated which lies between 2.8 and 2.3 eV depending on the substrate temperature and substrates. The decrease in band gap value with increasing substrate temperature is owing to the oxygen-ion vacancies. The absorption edge shift shows the coloration effect on the films.  相似文献

Semiconducting Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) material has been receiving a great technological interest in the photovoltaic industry because of its low-cost non-toxic constituents, ideal direct band gap as a absorber layer and high absorption coefficient. CZTS thin films have been successfully deposited onto the fluorine-doped tin oxide/glass (glass/FTO) substrates coated glass substrates using successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method and investigated for photoelectrochemical conversion (PEC) of light into electricity. The best solar cell sample showed an open-circuit voltage of 390 mV, a short-circuit current density of 636.9 μA/cm2, a fill factor of 0.62 and an efficiency of 0.396% under irradiation of 30 mW/cm2. Preliminary results obtained for solar cells fabricated with this material are promising.  相似文献

High quality solid electrolyte thin films was grown by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) using a high photon energy ArF excimer laser. Various amorphous thin films were successfully deposited on glass substrates from oxide targets; such as Li3PO4, LiBO2, Li2SiO3, Li2CO3, Li2SO4, Li2ZrO3, LiAlO2, Li2WO4 and Ohara glass ceramics. The morphology, optical property and ionic conductivity of these films were examined by optical microscope, UV–VIS spectroscopy and impedance analysis. Dramatic improvement of the film morphology was observed by using a high photon energy laser, while the broken film with many droplets was obtained by using lower ones. Ionic conductivity of the films was examined by impedance spectroscopy and dc polarization method. For example, an ionic conductivity of a Li3PO4 film was 4.6 × 10? 6 S cm? 1 at 25 °C with activation energy of 0.57 eV. Electronic conductivity measurements revealed that most of the films were pure lithium ion conductors, while a Li2WO4 film was a mixed conductor.  相似文献

Sb2S3 thin films prepared by electrodeposition on indium tin oxide coated glass substrate were irradiated with 150 MeV Ni11+ ions for various fluence in the range of 1011–1013 ions/cm2. The modifications in the structure, surface morphology and optical properties have been studied as a function of ion fluence. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicates a shift in the (2 4 0) peak position towards lower diffraction angle and a decrease in grain size with increase in ion fluence. Presence of microcracks due to irradiation induced grain splitting effect has been observed from the SEM micrograph at higher ion fluence. The optical absorbance spectrum revealed a shift in the fundamental absorption edge and the band gap energy increased from a value of 1.63 eV for as-deposited films to 1.80 eV for the films irradiated with 1013 ions/cm2.  相似文献

Modified chemical bath deposited (MCBD) bismuth sulphide (Bi2S3) thin films’ structural, optical and electrical properties are engineered separately by annealing in air for 1 h at 300 °C and irradiating with 100 MeV Au swift heavy ions (SHI) at 5 × 1012 ions/cm2 fluence. It is observed that the band gap of the films gets red shifted after annealing and irradiation from pristine (as deposited) films. In addition, there is an increase in the grain size of the films due to both annealing and irradiation, leading to the decrease in resistivity and increase in thermoemf of the films. These results were explained in the light of thermal spike model.  相似文献

Zinc oxide thin films have been obtained in O2 ambient at a pressure of 1.3 Pa by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) using ZnO powder target and ceramic target. The effect of temperature on structural and optical properties of ZnO thin films was investigated systematically by XRD, SEM, FTIR and PL spectra. The results show that the best structural and optical properties can be achieved for ZnO thin film fabricated at 700 °C using powder target and at 400 °C using ceramic target, respectively. The PL spectrum reveals that the efficiency of UV emission of ZnO thin film fabricated by using powder target is low, and the defect emission of ZnO thin film derived from Zni and Oi is high.  相似文献

In this study the structural and optical properties of lanthanum-doped BaSnO3 powder samples and thin films deposited on fused silica were investigaed using laser ablation. Under an oxygen pressure of 5×10−4 mbar, phase pure BaSnO3 films with a lattice constant of 0.417 nm and grain size of 21 nm were prepared at 630 °C. The band gap of BaSnO3 powder sample and thin films was calculated to be 3.36 eV and 3.67 eV, respectively. There was a progressive increase in conductivity for thin films of BaSnO3 doped with 0~7 at% of La. The highest conductivity, 9 Scm−1, was obtained for 7 at% La-doped BaSnO3. Carrier concentration, obtained from Burstein-Moss (B-M) shift, nearly matches the measured values except for 3 at% and 10 at% La-doped BaSnO3 thin films.  相似文献

(1 ? x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3xPbTiO3 (PMN–PT) thin films have been deposited on quartz substrates using pulsed laser deposition (PLD). Crystalline microstructure of the deposited PMN–PT thin films has been investigated with X-ray diffraction (XRD). Optical transmission spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy are used to characterize optical properties of the deposited PMN–PT thin films. The results show that the PMN–PT thin films of perovskite structure have been formed, and the crystalline and optical properties of the PMN–PT thin films can be improved as increasing the annealing temperature to 750 °C, but further increasing the annealing temperature to 950 °C may lead to a degradation of the crystallinity and the optical properties of the PMN–PT thin films. In addition, a weak second harmonic intensity (SHG) has been observed for the PMN–PT thin film formed at the optimum annealing temperature of 750 °C according to Maker fringe method. All these suggest that the annealing temperature has significant effect on the structural and optical properties of the PMN–PT thin films.  相似文献

Fe3+ doped δ-Bi2O3 thin films were prepared by sol–gel method on quartz glass substrate at room temperature and annealed at 800 °C. The thin films were then characterized for structural, surface morphological, optical and electrical properties by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical absorption measurements and d.c. two-probe, respectively. The XRD analyses revealed the formation δ-Bi2O3 followed by a mixture of Bi25FeO40 and Bi2Fe4O9. SEM images showed reduction in grain sizes after doping and the optical studies showed a direct band gap which reduced from 2.39 eV for pure δ-Bi2O3 to 1.9 eV for 10% Fe3+ doped δ-Bi2O3 thin film. The electrical conductivity measurement showed the films are semiconductors.  相似文献

Mo-doped In2O3 thin films have been prepared on glass substrates using an activated reactive evaporation method and systematically studied the effect of oxygen partial pressure on the structural, optical, electrical and photoluminescence properties of the films. The obtained films are highly transparent and conductive. The films exhibited the lowest electrical resistivity of 5.2 × 10−4 Ω cm, with an average optical transmittance of 90% in the visible region. An intensive photoluminescence emission peaks were observed at 415 and 440 nm.  相似文献

Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) technique was used to deposit the CuInS2/In2S3 multilayer thin film structure at room temperature. The as-deposited film was annealed at 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 °C for 30 min in nitrogen atmosphere and the annealing effect on structural, optical and photoelectrical properties of the film was investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and optical absorption spectroscopy were used for structural and optical studies. Current–Voltage (I–V) measurements were performed in dark environment and under 15, 30 and 50 mW/cm2 light intensity to investigate the photosensitivity of the structure. Also, the electrical resistivity of the film was determined in the temperature range of 300–470 K. It was found that annealing temperature drastically affects the structural, optical and photoelectrical properties of the CuInS2/In2S3 films.  相似文献

In this work, the pulsed electron beam deposition method (PED) is evaluated by studying the properties of ZnO thin films grown on c-cut sapphire substrates. The film composition, structure and surface morphology were investigated by means of Rutherford backscattering spectrometry, X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy. Optical absorption, resistivity and Hall effect measurements were performed in order to obtain the optical and electronic properties of the ZnO films. By a fine tuning of the deposition conditions, smooth, dense, stoichiometric and textured hexagonal ZnO films were epitaxially grown on (0001) sapphire at 700 °C with a 30° rotation of the ZnO basal plane with respect to the sapphire substrate. The average transmittance of the films reaches 90% in the visible range with an optical band gap of 3.28 eV. Electrical characterization reveals a high density of charge carrier of 3.4 × 1019 cm?3 along with a mobility of 11.53 cm²/Vs. The electrical and optical properties are discussed and compared to ZnO thin films prepared by the similar and most well-known pulsed laser deposition method.  相似文献

CuxZn1 ? xS (x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1) thin films were deposited on glass substrates using Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method at room temperature and ambient pressure. The copper concentration (x) effect on the structural, morphological and optical properties of CuxZn1 ? xS thin films was investigated. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies showed that all the films exhibit polycrystalline nature and are covered well with glass substrates. The crystalline and surface properties of the films improved with increasing copper concentration. The energy bandgap values were changed from 2.07 to 3.67 eV depending on the copper concentration. The refractive index (n), optical static and high frequency dielectric constants (εo, ε) values were calculated by using the energy bandgap values as a function of the copper concentration.  相似文献

Tungsten oxide (WO3) thin films were prepared by an electron beam deposition technique. Films were deposited onto fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO)-coated glass substrates maintained at 523 K. The as-deposited films were found to be amorphous and crystallized after annealing at 673 K. The electrochromic and optical properties, structure, and morphology are strongly dependent on the annealing conditions. Cyclic voltammetry (C-V) was carried out in the potential range −1 to +1 V. Before and after colouration, the films were characterized by measuring transmittance and reflectance. The colouration efficiencies at 630 nm are about 39.4 cm2 C−1 and 122.2 cm2 C−1 for amorphous and crystalline films, respectively. An investigation of self-bleaching for the coloured film revealed that the film fades gradually over time.  相似文献

This paper reports on the structural and optical properties of Co-doped TiO2 thin films grown onto (0001)Al2O3 substrates by non-reactive pulsed laser deposition (PLD) using argon as buffer gas. It is shown that by keeping constant the substrate temperature at as low as 310 °C and varying only the background gas pressure between 7 Pa and 70 Pa, it is possible to grow either epitaxial rutile or pure anatase thin films, as well as films with a mixture of both polymorphs. The optical band gaps of the films are red shifted in comparison with the values usually reported for undoped TiO2, which is consistent with n-type doping of the TiO2 matrix. Such band gap red shift brings the absorption edge of the Co-doped TiO2 films into the visible region, which might favour their photocatalytic activity. Furthermore, the band gap red shift depends on the films’ phase composition, increasing with the increase of the Urbach energy for increasing rutile content.  相似文献

A new approach of chemical bath deposition (CBD) of SnO2 thin films is reported. Films with a 0.2 μm thickness are obtained using the multi-dip deposition approach with a deposition time as little as 8–10 min for each dip. The possibility of fabricating a transparent conducting oxide layer of Cd2SnO4 thin films using CBD is investigated through successive layer deposition of CBD-SnO2 and CBD-CdO films, followed by annealing at different temperatures. High quality films with transmittance exceeding 80% in the visible region are obtained. Annealed CBD-SnO2 films are orthorhombic, highly stoichiometric, strongly adhesive, and transparent with an optical band gap of ~4.42 eV. Cd2SnO4 films with a band gap as high as 3.08 eV; a carrier density as high as 1.7 × 1020 cm?3; and a resistivity as low as 1.01 × 10?2 Ω cm are achieved.  相似文献

Undoped and Erbium (Er) doped zinc oxide (EZO) thin films were deposited on glass substrate by sol–gel method using spin coating technique with different doping concentration. EZO films were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), UV–VIS-NIR transmission and single beam z scan method under illumination of frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser. The deposited films were found to be well crystallized with hexagonal wurtzite structure having a preferential growth orientation along the ZnO (002) plane. A blue-shift was observed in the band gap of EZO films with increasing Er concentration. All the films exhibited a negative value of nonlinear refractive index (n2) at 532 nm which is attributed to the two photon absorption and weak free carrier absorption. Third order nonlinear optical susceptibility, χ(3) values of EZO films were observed in the remarkable range of 10? 6 esu. EZO (0.4 at.%) sample was found to be the best optical limiter with limiting threshold of 1.95 KJ/cm2.  相似文献

The effect of pulse amplitude on the ferroelectric and switching properties of pulsed laser deposited Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3 thin films has been studied. The structural and morphological analysis revealed that the films had a well crystallized perovskite phase and grain size of about 30–40 nm. A well saturated P–E hysteresis loop was observed with a remnant polarization (Pr)  4.8 μC/cm2 and a coercive field  100 kV/cm at a frequency of 1 kHz. The Pr has been found to be decreased only 4.3% after passing 8.0 × 108 cycles. The analysis of switching response with nucleation limited switching model reveals that characteristic switching time (t0) variance is due to the random distribution of the local electric fields. The peak value of polarization current and t0 exhibits exponential dependence on reciprocal of pulse amplitude.  相似文献

Beryllium-nitride (Be3N2) thin films were grown on silicon Si(1 1 1) substrates by pulsed laser deposition in a RIBER LDM-32 system, and characterized with in/ex situ XPS and SIMS. The structure of the films was analyzed with XRD. The films were further analyzed for surface topographic information with SEM and profilometry, and for optical properties with optical spectroscopy. It was observed that the material, prepared at room temperature and annealed at 700 °C for 2 h, had undergone a partial phase transition to a mixture of amorphous and crystalline phases, and the thin films showed a large anti-reflection window in the visible. Therefore, the annealed Be3N2 thin films would be potentially useful for stable electronic packaging with desired photonic features.  相似文献
