We discuss the effects of dissipation on the behavior of single photon transport in a system of coupled cavity arrays,with the two nearest cavities nonlocally coupled to a two-level atom.The single photon transmission amplitude is solved exactly by employing the quasi-boson picture.We investigate two different situations of local and nonlocal couplings,respectively.Comparing the dissipative case with the nondissipative one reveals that the dissipation of the system increases the middle dip and lowers the peak of the single photon transmission amplitudes,broadening the line width of the transport spectrum.It should be noted that the influence of the cavity dissipation to the single photon transport spectrum is asymmetric.By comparing the nonlocal coupling with the local one,one can find that the enhancement of the middle dip of single photon transmission amplitudes is mostly caused by the atom dissipation and that the reduced peak is mainly caused by the cavity dissipation,no matter whether it is a nonlocal or local coupling case.Whereas in the nonlocal coupling case,when the coupling strength gets stronger,the cavity dissipation has a greater effect on the single photon transport spectrum and the atom dissipation affection becomes weak,so it can be ignored.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate single-photon polarization conversion via scattering by an atom with Λ configuration coupled to a semi-infinite waveguide and discuss the two cases in which the Λ system is non-degenerated and degenerated. By applying the hard-wall boundary condition of the semi-infinite waveguide, it is found that singlephoton polarization conversion can be realized with unit probability for both cases under the ideal condition.Together with the polarization conversion, the frequency conversion of a single photon can also be realized with unit probability in the ideal case if the Λ system is not degenerated.  相似文献

In this talk, the interaction of a single photon injected to a single atom is studied, for which initially the photon is uncorrelated with the atom. The spontaneous emitted photon will then evolve to be entangled with the atom on their continuous kinetic variables (momentum) in the process of resonant scattering. We find the relations between the entanglement and their physical control parameters (such as the linewidth of the injected photon wave packet, and that of the atomic wave packet, etc. ), which indicates that high entanglement can be reached by broadening the scale of the atomic wave or squeezing the linewidth of the incident single-photon pulse.  相似文献

Photon scattering properties in one-dimensional waveguide side coupled to a nanocavity embedded in two atoms with dipole-dipole interaction (DDI) are investigated theoretically. The analytical expressions of the transmission and reflection amplitudes are deduced by using the real-space Hamiltonian. A method to determine the coupling strength of DDI is proposed. Realization of single photon switching by modulation the DDI is investigated. The influence of dissipations on the performance of the single photon switching are exhibited. An asymmetric Fano-type resonance, which can be controlled by the DDI, appears in the transmission spectrum.  相似文献

Optical refrigeration of semiconductors is encountering efficiency difficulties caused by nonradiative recombination and luminescence trapping. A commonly used approach for enhancing luminescence efficiency of a semiconductor device is coupling a lens with the device. We quantitatively study the effects of a coupling lens on optical refrigeration based on rate equations and photon recycling, and calculated cooling emciencies of different coupling mechanisms and of different lens materials. A GaAs/GalnP heterostructure coupled with a homo-epitaxial GalnP hemispherical lens is recommended.  相似文献

The quantum features of the temporal photon statistics of an exciton--cavity coupled system in a quantum-well semiconductor microcavity are investigated analytically. Under the secular approximation, if the nonlinear interactions, i.e. the exciton--exciton coupling and the phase-space filling, are much weaker than the exciton--photon interaction, the evolution of the Fano factor shows that the distribution of the photon numbers exhibits the feature of collapses--revivals (CRs), and the relevant revival time may be adjusted by several factors such as the total particle number, the detuning, and the nonlinear coupling strengths, etc. Especially, the ideal maximum antibunching with the minimum value 0 of the Fano factor occurs periodically for such a situation, with the dissipation of exciton--polariton being ignored.  相似文献

This paper studies the entanglement properties in a system of two dipole-dipole coupled two-level atoms resonantly interacting with a single-mode thermal field. The results show that, when the temperature of the cavity is high enough (corresponding to the large value of the mean photon number), the entanglement is greatly enhanced due to the initial atomic coherence. These results are helpful for controlling the atomic entanglement by changing the initial parameters of the system.  相似文献

The quantum electrodynamics(QED)in a spatially flat(1+3)-dimensional Friedmann-Lema?tre-Robertson-Walker(FLRW)space-time with a Milne-type scale factor is outlined focusing on the amplitudes of the allowed processes in the first order perturbations.The definition of the transition rates is reconsidered such that an appropriate angular behavior of the probability for creation of an electron-positron pair from a photon is obtained,which has a similar rate as the creation of a photon and an electron-positron pair from vacuum.It is shown that these processes are allowed only in the first order perturbations,since the photon emission or absorption by an electron or positron are forbidden.  相似文献

A scheme is presented for the generation of entangled states for two atoms trapped in two distant cavities. In the scheme each atom is resonantly coupled with the respective cavity mode and driven by a strong classical field. The detection of a photon decaying from the cavities and passing through a beam-splitter collapses the atoms to an entangled state. The required atom-field interaction time is very short and thus the decoherence effect is suppressed. Our scheme is within the reach of presently available cavity QED techniques.  相似文献

Based on coupled quantum dots,we present an interesting optical effect in a four-level loop coupled system.Both the two upper levels and the two lower levels are designed to be almost degenerate,which induces a considerable dipole moment.The terahertz wave is obtained from the low-frequency component of the photon emission spectrum.The frequency of the terahertz wave can be controlled by tuning the energy levels via designing the nanostructure appropriately or tuning the driving laser field.A terahertz wave with adjustable frequency and considerable intensity(100 times higher than that of the Rayleigh line) can be obtained.It provides an effective scheme for a terahertz source.  相似文献

We have calculated the intraband photon absorption coefficients of hot two-dimensional electrons interacting with polar-optical phonon modes in quantum wells. The dependence of the photon absorption coefficients on the photon wavelength λ is obtained both by using the quantum mechanical theory and by the balance-equation theory. It is found that the photon absorption spectrum displays a local resonant maximum, corresponding to LO energy, and the absorption peak vanishes with increasing the electronic temperature.  相似文献

Within the context of the Littlest Higgs model with T -parity, the heavy photon (AH) is supposed to be an ideal dark matter (DM) candidate. One direct proof of validity of the model is to produce the heavy photon at collider. In this paper, we investigate the associated production of a photon with heavy photon pair at the planned international e+e- linear collider (ILC),i.e., e+e-→ AHAHγ and show the distributions of the transverse momenta of the photon. The numerical results indicate that the heavy photon production rate could reach several fb at the low mass parameter space and the characteristic signal is a single high energetic photon and missing energy, carried by the heavy photons. All in all, it can be a good chance to observe the heavy photon via this process with the high yearly luminosity of the ILC.  相似文献

A source of quantum correlated photon pairs in the 155Onto telecom band obtained by a pumping 11 m photonic crystal fiber with lOps pulse trains is experimentally demonstrated. We investigate how the birefringence of the fiber influences the purity of the photon pairs. We also present the frequency correlation of the signal and idler photon pairs. The experimental results are useful for developing a compact source of photon pairs well suited for quantum communication.  相似文献

The properties of the two-mode mazer operating on V-type three-level atoms are studied. The effect of the oneatom pumping on the two modes of the cavity field in number-state is asymmetric, that is, the atom emits a photon into one mode with some probability and absorbs a photon from the other mode with some other probability. This effect makes the steady-state photon distribution and the steady-state photon statistics asymmetric for the two modes. The diagram of the probability currents for the photon distribution, given by the analysis of the master equation, reveals that there is no detailed balance solution for the master equation. The computations show that the photon statistics of one mode or both modes can be sub-Poissonian, that the two modes can have anticorrelation or correlation, that the photon statistics increases with the increase of thermal photons, and that the resonant position and strength of the photon statistics are influenced by the ratio of the two coupling strengths of the two modes. These properties are also discussed physically.  相似文献

We demonstrate the generation of non-classical photon pairs in a warm ~(87)Rb atomic vapor cell with no buffer gas or polarization preserving coatings via spontaneous four-wave mixing. We obtain the photon pairs with a 1/e correlation time of 40 ns and the violation of Cauchy–Schwartz inequality by a factor of 23±3. This provides a convenient and efficient method to generate photon pair sources based on an atomic ensemble.  相似文献

We investigate photon statistical properties of the multiple-photon-added two-mode squeezed coherent states(PATMSCS).We find that the photon statistical properties are sensitive to the compound phase involved in the TMSCS.Our numerical analyses show that the photon addition can enhance the cross-correlation and anti-bunching effects of the PATMSCS.Compared with that of the TMSCS,the photon number distribution of the PA-TMSCS is modulated by a factor that is a monotonically increasing function of the numbers of adding photons to each mode;further,that the photon addition essentially shifts the photon number distribution.  相似文献

The chaotic properties for six particles interacting by a monopole pairing force in a two-j shell model coupled with a deformed core are studied in the frame of particle-rotor model.The nearest-neighbor distribution of energy levels and spectral rigidity in the two-j shell are compared with those in the single-j case.The results show that the system is more regular in the two-j model than that in the single-j case.  相似文献

A hybrid system containing an asymmetrical waveguide coupled to a whispering-gallery resonator embedded with a two-level atom is designed to investigate single-photon transport properties. The transmission and reflection amplitudes are obtained via the discrete coordinates approach. Numerical simula, tion demonstrates that a tri- frequency photon attenuator is realized by controlling the couplings between the asymmetrical waveguide and the whispering-gallery resonator.
