We report measurement of heating rates of ~(40)Ca~+ ions confined in our home-made microscopic surface-electrode trap by a Doppler recooling method. The ions are trapped with approximately 800 μm above the surface, and are subjected to heating due to various noises in the trap. There are 3-5 ions involved to measure the heating rates precisely and efficiently. We show the heating rates in variance with the number and the position of the ions as well as the radio-frequency power, which are helpful for understanding the trap imperfection.  相似文献

We demonstrate theoretically and experimentally how changes of a terahertz(THz) beam induced by the sample affect the accuracy of the determination of THz dielectric properties in THz time-domain transmission spectroscopy(TDTS). We apply a Gaussian beam and the ABCD matrix formalism to describe the propagation of the THz beam in a focused beam setup. The insertion of the sample induces a focus displacement which is absent in the reference measurement without a sample. We show how the focus displacement can be corrected. The THz optical properties after focus displacement correction reported in this Letter are in quantitative agreement with those obtained using collimated beam THz–TDTS in previous work.  相似文献

The ~(10)Be/~7Be ratio is a sensitive tracer for the study of atmospheric transport, particularly with regard to stratosphere-troposphere exchange. Measurements with high accuracy and efficiency are crucial to ~7Be and ~(10)Be tracer studies. This article describes sample preparation procedures and analytical benchmarks for ~7Be and ~(10)Be measurements at the Xi'an Accelerator Mass Spectrometry(Xi'an-AMS) laboratory for the study of rainwater samples. We describe a sample preparation procedure to fabricate beryllium oxide(Be O) AMS targets that includes co-precipitation, anion exchange column separation and purification. We then provide details for the AMS measurement of ~7Be and ~(10)Be following the sequence BeO~-→Be~(2+)→Be~(4+) in the Xi'an- AMS. The ~(10)Be/~7Be ratio of rainwater collected in Xi'an is shown to be about 1.3 at the time of rainfall. The virtue of the method described here is that both ~7Be and ~(10)Be are measured in the same sample, and it is suitable for routine analysis of large numbers of rainwater samples by AMS.  相似文献

We have measured the cross section for π+π- production in two-photon collisions using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 85.9 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector. The f0(980) resonance is observed as a peak in the energy spectrum of the cross section. We also report preliminary results for γγ→π0π0 with two-photon center-of-mass energies ranging from 0.6 to 4.0 GeV, based on a 95 fb-1 data sample. We find at least four resonant structures including a peak from f0(980). In addition, there is evidence for Xc0 production. We also make a preliminary discussion of the angular dependence and cross section ratio of γγ→π+π- and γγ→π0π0.  相似文献

We established a method on measuring the D0-■ mixing parameter y for BESⅢ experiment at the BEPCⅡ e e-collider. In this method, the doubly tagged ψ(3770) → D0■ events, with one D decays to CP-eigenstates and the other D decays semileptonically, are used to reconstruct the signals. Since this analysis requires good e/π separation, a likelihood approach, which combines the dE/dx, time of flight and the electromagnetic shower detectors information, is used for particle identification. We estimate the sensitivity of the measurement of y to be 0.007 based on a 20 fb-1 fully simulated MC sample.  相似文献

Dark sector may couple to the Standard Model via one or more mediator particles.We discuss two types of mediators:the dark photon A’and the dark scalar mediatorΦ.The total cross-sections and various differential distributions of the processes e+e-→qqA’and e+e→qqφ(q=u,d,c,s and b quarks)are discussed.We focus on the study of the invisible due to the cleaner background at future e+e-colliders.It is found that the kinematic distributions of the two-jet system could be used to identify(or exclude)the dark photon and the dark scalar mediator,as well as to distinguish between them.We further study the possibility of a search for dark photons at a future CEPC experiment with s1/2=91.2 GeV and 240 GeV.With CEPC running at s1/2=91.2 GeV,it would be possible to perform a decisive measurement of the dark photon(20 GeV相似文献

We investigate the temperature dependence of the emission spectrum of a laser-induced semiconductor(Ge and Si) plasma. The change in spectral intensity with the sample temperature indicates the change of the laser ablation mass. The reflectivity of the target surface is reduced as the sample is heated, which leads to an increase in the laser energy coupled to the surface of the sample and eventually produces a higher spectral intensity.The spectral intensities are enhanced by a few times at high temperatures compared with the cases at low temperatures. The spectral intensity of Ge is enhanced by 1.5 times at 422.66 nm, and 3 times at589.33 nm when the sample temperature increases from 50°C to 300°C. We can obtain the same emission intensity by a more powerful laser or by less pulse energy with a higher sample temperature. Based on experimental observations we conclude that the preheated sample can improve the emission intensity of laser-induced semiconductor plasma spectroscopy.  相似文献

We develop a simple and practical scheme to apply sideband cooling to a cloud of rubidium atoms. A sample containing 4 × 10~(70) ~(87)Rb is trapped in a far red detuned optical lattice. Through optimizing the relevant parameters, i.e., laser detuning, magnetic field, polarization, and duration time, a temperature around 1.5 μK and phase space density close to 1/500 are achieved. Compared with polarization gradient cooling, the temperature decreases by around one order of magnitude. This technique could be used in high precision measurement such as atomic clocks and atom interferometer. It could also serve as a precooling means before evaporation cooling in a dipole trap, and may be a promising method of achieving quantum degeneracy with purely optical means.  相似文献

We present a sample of 4388 AGNs with available radio core-dominance parameters—defined as the ratio of the core flux densities to the extended ones, R = Score/Sext.—which includes 630 Fermi-detected AGNs from the fourth source catalog(4FGL) of the Fermi Large Area Telescope(Fermi/LAT);the rest are non-Fermi-detected AGNs. In our sample, 584 blazars are Fermi-detected and 1310 are not. The sample also contains other subclasses, such as Seyferts, Fanaroff-Riley I/II galaxies, and normal galaxies.We investigate various properties of the Fermi-detected and non-Fermi-detected AGNs by using core-dominance parameters,capitalizing on a previous study which showed that R is a good indicator of beaming. We then calculate radio spectral indices for the whole sample, and adopt γ-ray-photon indices for the Fermi AGNs from the 4FGL catalog to discuss the properties of different subclasses. We obtain a relation between the core-dominance parameters and the radio spectral indices for both Fermi and non-Fermi sources, assuming a two-component model in the radio band. Our previous study ruled out the assumption that the core-dominance parameters and radio spectral indices are quite different for different AGN subclasses. This holds not only for Fermi sources but also for non-Fermi sources. In particular, R is, on average, greater for the former AGNs than for the latter.In this study, we enlarge our sample with available values of R to 4388 AGNs, and the obtained conclusions are consistent with our previous study. We assume that the same two-component model holds for the γ-ray band as for the radio band, and therefore,adopt the same relation between the core-dominance parameters and the γ-ray-photon indices for Fermi AGNs. Our fitting results indicate that the γ-ray emissions of Fermi blazars originate mainly from the jet, and therefore, we conclude that the Fermi blazars are beamed.  相似文献

The performances of two liquid level sensors based on long-period fiber gratings are studied.The longperiod gratings(LPGs) have similar characteristics(length and period),but are fabricated with two photosensitive B-Ge co-doped fibers with different dopant concentrations.We investigate the temperature sensitivities of LPGs and exploit their refractive index sensitivity to implement liquid level measurement.By controlling fiber parameters,such as the dopant concentrations,the measurement sensitivity of a LPGbased fiber optic liquid level sensor can be improved.  相似文献

We report here the paraconductivity of ErBa_2Cu_(3-x)M_xO_(7-δ)(M=Zn, Fe) superconductors.The logarithmic plots of excess conductivityσand reduced temperatureCreveal two different exponents corresponding to crossover temperature as a result of shifting the order parameter from 2 to 3.The first exponent in the normal field region is close to1,in which the order parameter dimensionality(OPD)is 2.The second exponent in the critical field region is close to 0.5,in which the OPD is 3.The coherence length,interlayer coupling,interlayer separation and carrier concentration decrease with increasing doping content,and their values for Fe samples are different from those of Zn samples.While anisotropy is increased with increasing doping content,it is generally higher for a Zn sample than that for an Fe sample.We also estimate several physical parameters such as upper critical magnetic fields in the a–b plane and along the c axis(Baband Bc),and critical current density J at 0 K.Although Baband Bcare generally increased with doping content increasing,the value of Babis found to be twice more than that of Bc.A similar behavior is obtained for J(0 K)and its value is higher in the Fe sample than that in the Zn sample.These results are discussed in terms of oxygen deficiency,localization of carriers,and flux pinning,which are produced by doping.  相似文献

We carry out an ultra-low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment based on high-T c superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs). The measurement field is in a micro-tesla range (~10 μT-100 μT) and the experiment is conducted in a home-made magnetically-shielded-room (MSR). The measurements are performed by the indirect coupling method in which the signal of nuclei precession is indirectly coupled to the SQUID through a tuned copper coil transformer. In such an arrangement, the interferences of applied measurement and polarization field to the SQUID sensor are avoided and the performance of the SQUID is not destroyed. In order to compare the detection sensitivity obtained by using the SQUID with that achieved using a conventional low-noise-amplifier, we perform the measurements using a commercial room temperature amplifier. The results show that in a wide frequency range (~1 kHz-10 kHz) the measurements with the SQUID sensor exhibit a higher signal-to-noise ratio. Further, we discuss the dependence of NMR peak magnitude on measurement frequency. We attribute the reduction of the peak magnitude at high frequency to the increased field inhomogeneity as the measurement field increases. This is verified by compensating the field gradient using three sets of gradient coils.  相似文献

Natural xenon, contained in a ceil at a pressure of 6.5 atm, is frozen from 303 to 137 K on an WP-80SY NMR spectrometer. NMR signals of 129Xe atoms in gaseous, liquid and solid phases are measured at various temperatures, We found that the chemical shift of NMR signal of liquid 129Xe (expressed as ΔH) is directly proportional to the density of the sample with a coefficient of (4.73±0.05)×10-7; and the chemical shift of NMR signal of solid 129Xe (expressed as ΔH) is nearly proportional to the density of the sample with a coefficient of (5.00±0.08)×10-7.  相似文献

Motivated by the recently updated experimental measurement on Bˉd →μ+μ and B →πμ+μ decays by CDF and Belle collaborations,we revisit these decays,as well as B →ρμ+μ decay,within the Standard Model,and evaluate the effects of a family non-universal Z' boson.Under the constraint from B(B →πμ+μ),we find the ranges of the Z' couplings SμLμR 5.2 × 10 2 or DμLμR 8.1 × 10 2 are excluded.Within the allowed Z' parameters spaces,comparing with the SM predictions,we find that B(Bˉd →μ+μ),B(B →πμ+μ),and B(B →ρμ+μ) could be enhanced by a factor about 226%,245%,and 254%,respectively,by Z' contributions.However,they are hardly to be reduced.Furthermore,the zero crossing in the normalized forward-backward asymmetry spectrum of B →ρμ+μ decay at low dimuon mass always exists.  相似文献

We propose a deterministic generation and purification of decoherence-free spin entangled states with singlet-triplet spins in nanowire double quantum dots via resonator-assisted charge manipulation and measurement techniques. Each spin qubit corresponds to two electrons in a double quantum dot in the nanowire, with the singlet and one of the triplets as the decoherence-free qubit states. The logical qubits are immunized against the dominant source of decoherence-dephasing—while the influences of additional errors are shown by numerical simulations. We analyse the performance and stability of all required operations and emphasize that all techniques are feasible in current experimental conditions.  相似文献

The sensitivity of a transducer should be an important characteristic inthe field of NDT.But so far,no method for this measurement of the sensitivity of atransducer applied to the ultrasonic flaw detection is available.In this paper thetransducer is regarded as a plane source and the reciprocity parameter under thecondition of the far field is derived.We have calibrated the sensitivity of ultrasonictransducers with the reciprocity technique in the solid sample.The experimentsshow and confirm that the transmitting and receiving sensitivities of the transducerapplied to NDT can be exactly measured.The precision of the measurement is with-in ± 1dB under a certain coupling condition.  相似文献

We are exploring a generic strongly-interacting Electroweak Symmetry Breaking Sector(EWSBS) with the low-energy effective field theory for the four experimentally known particles(W_L~±,Z_l,h) and its dispersion-relation based unitary extension.In this contribution we provide simple estimates for the production cross-section of pairs of the EWSBS bosons and their resonances at proton-proton colliders as well as in a future e~-e~+(or potentially aμ~-μ~+) collider with a typical few-TeV energy.We examine the simplest production mechanisms,tree-level production through a W(dominant when quantum numbers allow) and the simple effective boson approximation(in which the electroweak bosons are considered as collinear partons of the colliding fermions).We exemplify with custodial isovector and isotensor resonances at 2 TeV,the energy currently being discussed because of a slight excess in the ATLAS 2-jet data.We find it hard,though not unthinkable,to ascribe this excess to one of these W_lW_l rescattering resonances.An isovector resonance could be produced at a rate smaller than,but close to earlier CMS exclusion bounds,depending on the parameters of the effective theory.The ZZ excess is then problematic and requires additional physics(such as an additional scalar resonance).The isotensor one(that would describe all charge combinations) has smaller cross-section.  相似文献

The accuracy of the background optical properties has a considerable effect on the quality of reconstructed images in near-infrared functional brain imaging based on continuous wave diffuse optical tomography(CW-DOT). We propose a region stepwise reconstruction method in CW-DOT scheme for reconstructing the background absorption and reduced scattering coefficients of the two-layered slab sample with the known geometric information. According to the relation between the thickness of the top layer and source– detector separation, the conventional measurement data are divided into two groups and are employed to reconstruct the top and bottom background optical properties, respectively. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can reconstruct the background optical properties of two-layered slab sample effectively. The region-of-interest reconstruction results are better than those of the conventional simultaneous reconstruction method.  相似文献

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a photonic approach to estimate the time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) and the angle-of-arrival (AOA) of a microwave signal. TDOA and AOA are estimated from the carrier power difference of the two outputs of the Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) using only one dualdrive 1 × 2 MZM. Experimentally, the TDOA of a microwave signal at 3 GHz from 27.78 to 166.67 ps is measured with maximum measurement errors of ± 2.24 ps; correspondingly, the AOA from 60°to 85.2°is measured with maximum measurement errors of ± 0.4° .  相似文献

In this paper, the effect of the intrinsic distribution of cosmological candles is investigated. We find that in the case of a narrow distribution the deviation of the observed modulus of sources from the expected central value can be estimated within a ceratin range. We thus introduce lower and upper limits of X2, X min2 and Xmax2 to estimate cosmological parameters by applying the conventional minimizing X2 method. We apply this method to a gamma-ray burst (GRB) sample as well as to a combined sample including this GRB sample and an SN Ia sample. Our analysis shows that: a) in the case of assuming an intrinsic distribution of candles of the GRB sample, the effect of the distribution is obvious and should not be neglected; b) taking into account this effect would lead to a poorer constraint of the cosmological parameter ranges. The analysis suggests that in the attempt of constraining the cosmological model with current GRB samples, the results tend to be worse than was previously anticipated if the mentioned intrinsic distribution does exist.  相似文献
