Ordered binary Co-Ni nanowire arrays with different components have successfully been fabricated by ac electrodeposition. The as-obtained nanowires exhibit a diameter of about 49.2 nm and aspect ratio of more than 30. A highly preferential orientation of the Co-Ni nanowires has been obtained by XRD. The magnetic properties of Co-Ni nanowire arrays determined by VSM are as the function of the Co-Ni components. The maximum value of coercivities perpendicular to the array is 2073 Oe. However, the magnetic properties of such nanowire arrays exhibited a bad thermal stability at the medium temperature of 200 °C.  相似文献

Metallic (Ni, Co, Cu and Fe) nanowires were fabricated by electrodeposition into anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template. In this work, we have studied the effect of the electrode potential on the microstructure and magnetic properties of nanowires. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results showed that the metal nanowires were single-crystal. Cu and Ni nanowires had the same orientation along the [2 2 0] direction, while Co had a preferred orientation along the [1 0 0] direction. Fe nanowires had a preferred orientation along the [2 0 0] direction. The growth mechanisms are probably due to the competition growth of the adjacent grains and the confinement of growth in the nano-sized hole of the AAO template. Results showed that single crystal or highly textured nanowires had better magnetic properties compared with that of polycrystal nanowires in terms of coercivity and squareness.  相似文献

The magnetization reversal of electrodeposited CoNi/Cu multilayer nanowires patterned in an array using a hole template has been investigated. The reversal mode is found to depend on the CoNi layer thickness t(CoNi); with increasing t(CoNi) a transition occurs from coherent rotation to a combination of coherent and incoherent rotation at around t(CoNi)=51 nm. The reversal mode has been identified using the magnetic hysteresis loops measured at room temperature for CoNi/Cu nanowires placed at various angles between the directions of the nanowire axis and external fields using a vibrating sample magnetometer. The nanowire samples have a diameter of ∼250 nm and constant Cu layer thickness of 4.2 nm with various t(CoNi) ranging from 6.8 nm to 7.5 μm. With increasing t(CoNi), the magnetic easy axis moves from the direction perpendicular to nanowires to that parallel to the nanowires at around t(CoNi)=51 nm, indicating a change in the magnetization reversal mode. The reversal mode for the nanowires with thin disk-shaped CoNi layers (t(CoNi)=6.8, 12 and 17 nm) is of a coherent rotation type, while that for long rod-shaped CoNi layers (t(CoNi)=150 nm, 1.0, 2.5 and 7.5 μm) can be consistently explained by a combination of coherent rotation and a curling mode. The effects of dipole–dipole interactions between nanowires and between adjacent magnetic layers in each nanowire on the reversal process have been discussed.  相似文献

Ni nanowire arrays with different diameters have now been extended to directly fabricate in porous anodic alumina oxide (AAO) templates on Ti/Si substrate by direct current (DC) electrodeposition. An aluminum film is firstly sputter-deposited on a silicon substrate coated with a 300 nm Ti film. AAO/Ti/Si substrate is synthesized by a two-step electrochemical anodization of the aluminum film on the Ti/Si substrate and then used as template to grow Ni nanowire arrays with different diameters. The coercivity and the squareness in parallel direction of Ni nanowires with about 10 nm diameters are 664 Oe and 0.90, respectively. The Ni nanowire arrays fabricated on AAO/Ti/Si substrates should lead to practical applications in ultrahigh-density magnetic storage devices because of the excellent properties.  相似文献

The Fe14.5Co16.5Ni55B15 and the Fe13Co15.5Ni51.5B20 ferromagnetic nanowires were deposited using the electrochemical deposition method. The structure of these nanowires was investigated using X-ray diffraction. Squid magnetometer was used to investigate the magnetic behavior. The hysteresis loops of 50 μm long nanowire arrays were studied as a function of boron concentration, nanowire diameter and field orientation. The competition between shape anisotropy and magnetostatic interactions played a vital role in determining the magnetic field necessary to saturate an array. The decrease in coercive field (Hc) and the squareness (SQ) of the hysteresis loop from 100 to 200 nm wire diameter for both types of compositions suggests the formation of multidomains in the nanowire.  相似文献

Orientation control and the magnetic properties of single crystalline Co nanowires fabricated by electrodeposition have been systematically investigated. It is found that the orientation of Co nanowires can be effectively controlled by varying either the current density or the pore diameter of AAO templates. Lower current density or small diameter is favorable for forming the (1 0 0) texture, while higher current values or larger diameter leads to the emergence and enhancement of (1 1 0) texture of Co nanowires. The mechanism for the manipulated growth characterization is discussed in detail. The orientation of Co nanowires has a significant influence on the magnetic properties, resulting from the competition between the magneto-crystalline and shape anisotropy of Co nanowires. This work offers a simple method to manipulate the orientation and magnetic properties of nanowires for future applications.  相似文献

BaFe12O19 nanowire arrays having single magnetic domain size (≤460 nm) in anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates were prepared by sol-gel and self-propagating high-temperature synthesis techniques. The diameter of the nanowire arrays is approximately 70 nm and the length is about 2-4 μm. The specimens were characterized using X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometer, field emission scan electron microscope, atomic force microscopy and microwave vector network analyzer. The magnetic properties of BaFe12O19 nanowire arrays embedded in AAO templates were measured by VSM with a field up to 1274 KA/m at room temperature. The results indicate that the nanowire arrays exhibit large saturation magnetization and high coercivity in the range of 6000 Oe and an obvious magnetic anisotropy with the easy magnetizing axis along the length of the nanowire arrays, probably due to the shape anisotropy and magneto-crystalline anisotropy. Finally the microwave absorption properties of the nanowires were discussed.  相似文献

Spinel CoFe2O4 nanowire arrays were synthesized in nanopores of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template using aqueous solution of cobalt and iron nitrates as precursor. The precursor was filled into the nanopores by vacuum impregnation. After heat treatment, it transformed to spinel CoFe2O4 nanowires. The structure, morphology and magnetic properties of the sample were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The results indicate that the nanowire arrays are compact. And the individual nanowires have a high aspect ratio, which are about 80 nm in diameter and 10 μm in length. The nanowires are polycrystalline spinel phase. Magnetic measurements indicate that the nanowire arrays are nearly magnetic isotropic. The reason is briefly discussed. Moreover, the temperature dependence of the coercive force of the nanowire arrays was studied.  相似文献

Not only vertically aligned ZnO nanowires but also horizontally aligned ZnO nanowires have been successfully grown on the annealed (0 0 0 1) c-cut and (1 1 2 0) a-cut sapphire substrates, respectively using catalyst-free nanoparticle-assisted pulsed-laser ablation deposition (NAPLD). The as-synthesized ZnO nanowires exhibit an ultraviolet emission at around 390 nm and the absent green emission under room temperature. The single ZnO nanowire was collected in the electrode gap by dielectrophoresis (DEP). Under the optical pumping, the single ZnO nanowire exhibited UV emission at around 390 nm with several sharp peaks whose energy spacings are almost constant, which greatly differs from the broad UV emission of the film with many nanowires, suggesting ZnO nanowires as candidates for laser media. The single ZnO nanowire showed polarized photoluminescence (PL). The as-synthesized ZnO nanowires could find many interesting applications in short-wavelength light-emitting diode (LED), laser diode and gas sensor.  相似文献

A method for fabricating aligned nanowire arrays on surfaces is shown. Gold and segmented Au/Ni/Au nanowires of high aspect ratio have been prepared by template electrosynthesis, and functionalized with charged short alkanethiols that can be ionized in aqueous solutions. Different distributions of funtionalized nanowires could be obtained on large surfaces from nanowire aqueous suspensions, avoiding aggregation due to electrical repulsion. Due to the high magnetic anisotropy of segmented Au/Ni/Au nanowires chaining of aligned nanowires could be obtained by applying a low magnetic field. While electrostatics favours side wire interactions due to the high aspect ratio, concurrent electrostatics and applied magnetic field yields end‐to‐end interaction and linear alignment without bifunctionalization. In this work, the magnetic and microstructural properties of CoPt nanowires are presented as a function of the electrolyte pH and current density during electrodeposition into anodized alumina templates. CoPt nanowires of high aspect ratio have been prepared using electrolyte pH values in the range from 2 to 6. The as-made samples exhibit a face centered cubic (fcc) structure with soft magnetic properties which transform into the face centered tetragonal (fct) L10 phase after thermal treatment. Different pH values of the electrolyte during electrodeposition lead to significantly different microstructures and, therefore, different magnetic properties. The CoPt nanowires prepared at high pH value are composed of fcc nanorods of about 25 nm in length. Thermal annealing of these samples leads to a preferred (0 0 1) orientation (along the direction perpendicular to the direction of nanowires) which increases with annealing time. On the other hand, the CoPt nanowires prepared at lower pH value are composed of uniform fcc nanograins with the size ∼2−3 nm. Magnetization curves for the later sample are virtually identical in both directions indicating an isotropic behavior.  相似文献

Co nanowire arrays with three typical diameters of 20, 50 and 120 nm have been fabricated into anodic alumina oxide templates using an ac electrodeposition method. It is found that the crystal texture of the Co nanowires depends on the pH value of the deposition electrolyte. X-ray diffraction results show that the (1 0 0) texture appears at pH 6.2, while the diffraction peaks of (1 0 0) and (1 0 1) appear at pH 6.4 with the diameter of 20 nm. In addition, the (0 0 2), (1 0 0) and (1 0 1) peaks appear with an increase of pH value for the nanowire arrays with diameters of 50 and 120 nm, respectively. Magnetic measurements indicate the effect of structure on the magnetic properties of the nanowire arrays, which depend strongly on the different diffraction peaks, as adjusted by the pH value.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of self-assembly cobalt nanowire arrays formed in anodic porous alumina template were investigated by nanosize imaging method and macroscopic magnetic measurement. We have successfully made a wire-by-wire observation of magnetization reversal of a cobalt nanowire array using magnetic force microscopy with a home-made FePt tip. The nanowires in this medium have uniaxial anisotropy with easy axis along the wire due to the large aspect ratio of the wires (30 nm in diameter and 300 nm in length). Considering the nanowires as single-domain structures, we can obtain the average DC demagnetization curve from nanosize images by calculating the number of wires in each magnetized direction, and the results agreed well with the DC demagnetization curve measured by macroscopic measurement. The magnetostatic field between wires was evaluated by a new nanosize imaging method. Macroscopic measurement shows that reversible magnetization occurs in this medium. Nanosize images of the remanent and saturated states prove that the reversible magnetization processes mainly take place inside individual wires and reversed wires induced by magnetostatic field just give a little contribution to the reversible magnetization.  相似文献

Upon deposition of silicon onto the (1 1 0) surface of a silver crystal we have grown massively parallel one-dimensional Si nanowires. They are imaged in scanning tunnelling microscopy as straight, high aspect ratio, nanostructures, all with the same characteristic width of 16 Å, perfectly aligned along the atomic troughs of the bare surface. Low energy electron diffraction confirms the massively parallel assembly of these self-organized nanowires. Photoemission reveals striking quantized states dispersing only along the length of the nanowires, and extremely sharp, two-components, Si 2p core levels. This demonstrates that in the large ensemble each individual nanowire is a well-defined quantum object comprising only two distinct silicon atomic environments. We suggest that this self-assembled array of highly perfect Si nanowires provides a simple, atomically precise, novel template that may impact a wide range of applications.  相似文献

Arrays of iron nanowires prepared by the method of galvanic filling of polymer track-etched membrane pores (matrix synthesis) under different electrolysis modes and electrolyte temperatures have been studied. The conditions of the synthesis have been analyzed. The optimal composition and electrolyte temperature have been found. The phase composition and magnetic properties of nanowires have been studied using the methods of electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, elemental energy-dispersive microanalysis, and Mössbauer spectroscopy. The average nanowire diameter is 100–200 nm. The length varies from 6 to 10 μm. The surface density is ~108 cm?2 at the average distance to each other of about 1 μm. It has been established that the basis of nanowires is formed by the metal iron nanocomposite that manifests the magnetic properties of bulk α-Fe. It has been found that the preferred orientation of the magnetization inside the iron nanowires arises for an array prepared at a potential of ?750 mV.  相似文献

FePt and FePt/Ag multilayered nanowires were fabricated by a pulseplating technique in nanoporous anodic alumina templates. The effect of Ag layers on the chemical ordering of FePt was investigated. It is found that the ordering rate of FePt is enhanced by introducing Ag layers in the FePt nanowire during post-deposition annealing. Measurements of the structure and magnetic properties of FePt 5 nm/Ag 1 nm multilayered nanowires reveal that the disorder-order transformation temperature of FePt is lowered to 350 °C. The possible reason for the enhancement in the ordering of FePt by introducing the Ag layers in the FePt nanowire is discussed.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline thin films of CdS have been grown onto flexible plastic and titanium substrates by a simple and environmentally benign chemical bath deposition (CBD) method at room temperature. The films consist of clusters of CdS nanoparticles. The clusters of CdS nanoparticles in the films were successfully converted into nanowire (NW) networks using chemical etching process. The possible mechanism of the etching phenomenon is discussed. These films were examined for their structural, surface morphological and optical properties by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and UV-vis spectrophotometry techniques, respectively. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) investigations were carried out using cell configuration as n-CdS/(1 M NaOH + 1 M Na2S + 1 M S)/C. The film of nanowires was found to be hexagonal in structure with the preferential orientation along the (0 0 2) plane. The nanowires have widths in the range of 50-150 nm and have lengths of the order of a few micrometers. Optical studies reveal that the CdS nanowires have value of band gap 2.48 eV, whereas it is 2.58 eV for nanoparticles of CdS. Finally, we report on the ideality of junction improvement of PEC cells when CdS nanoparticles photoelectrode converted into nanowires photoelectrode.  相似文献

Ultrafine nanowires of Fe-Co with a diameter around 15 nm have been fabricated by electrodeposition method using anodic porous alumina as a template. The alloy nanowires were in the form of arrays and consisting of polycrystalline structures. They showed obvious shape anisotropy parallel to the axis of nanowires and the perpendicular coercivity (Hc) was found to be 2576.8 Oe which is higher than any coercivity value reported in the literature. The effects of critical factors such as heat treatment and temperature of annealing on the structure and magnetic properties of the ultrafine nanowire arrays were studied and discussed.  相似文献

A crossover effect in the magnetic reversal mechanism within arrays of Nickel nanowires whose diameter varies from 15 to 100 nm is observed around 50 nm. Hysteresis loops and FMR measurements confirm that nanowire diameter controls effectively the nanowire easy axis as well as the magnetization reversal mechanism. This might be very interesting for spintronic devices based on current-induced domain motion such as non-volatile magnetic memory elements (MRAM) and low Ohmic loss devices.  相似文献

We report the measurement of the electrical resistivity of a vertical single Ni nanowire. A vertical array of Ni nanowires was fabricated on a Si substrate by electrodeposition using a nanoporous alumina template. The Ni nanowires possessed a face-centered-cubic polycrystalline structure. A voltage-applied atomic force microscope was used to make a nanometer-scale point contact on top of the vertical grown single Ni nanowire. The measured resistance was 1.1 MΩ for a nanowire with length of 3 μm and diameter of 20 nm.  相似文献
