In this work, we use the finite-difference time-domain method in conjunction with a genetic algorithm to design photonic crystal power beam splitters based upon a typical planar photonic crystal waveguide with corrugated surfaces or gratinglike surfaces covered behind the termination. Considering a power detector placed at different locations in the output field, we have obtained several beam splitters designs with different splitting angles. These beam splitters have high splitting efficiency and power intensity in the propagation direction.  相似文献

鉴于在微观领域光波的缩束对实现光电集成的重要意义,提出了基于硅纳米线波导的两级光子晶体缩束器。其中一级压缩基于W5型和W1型光子晶体波导间的高效耦合。二级压缩则由宽为0.1μm,长为3.06μm的纳米线波导和W1型光子晶体波导构成,通过二者的高效耦合实现光束压缩。当W1型光子晶体波导和纳米线波导间介质柱的半径为0.04μm时,对于1550nm波长的电磁波,缩束器的通光效率可达93.4%,压缩比为16.08,出射光束半峰全宽仅为0.148μm。  相似文献

The optical channel drop filters (CDFs) based on photonic crystals (PCs) are believed to be the essential components for compact photonic integrated circuits and WDM systems. One of the promising designs for a PC-CDF is based on the photonic crystal ring resonators (PCRRs). In this study, different parameters of a PCRR based CDF is optimized by using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) method in conjunction with the numerical method of two-dimensional (2D) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) in a square lattice dielectric-rod 2D-PC. Hence a PC-CDF with ideal drop efficiency, large free spectral range (FSR) and acceptable quality factor will be proposed.  相似文献

In this work, the beam splitter with two input ports and two output ports in two-dimensional photonic crystals is studied through the finite-difference time-domain method. The beam splitter consists of two orthogonally cross line defects. The diameter of the two diagonal air holes at the intersection of the two line defects was modified. The input light can be identically divided into the two output ports. The beam splitters can be applied in the photonic crystal Mach-Zehnder interferometers or photonic crystal optical switches.  相似文献

A novel implementation of a dispersion-based beam splitter in a photonic crystal (PhC) is proposed. The beam splitter consists of two periodic structures: a nonchannel dispersion-guiding region and a splitting structure operating inside the photonic bandgap. The dispersion-guiding PhC structure is used to route the optical wave by exploiting the dispersion properties of the lattice. An arbitrary power ratio between the output beams can be achieved by varying the parameters of the splitting structure. Within the studied range of splitting structures, high output power was observed and verified experimentally.  相似文献

光子晶体波导分束器是集成光学电路的重要组成元件。设计一种线缺陷1×4光子晶体分束器,用时域有限差分法研究其特性。实验结果表明:输出端的透射传输特性随入射光的波长和分支的几何形状有关,并且入射波分别相等地流入4个输出端口。为了减少1×4分束器在3个Y型分支区的反射,通过调节分支区的可调介质柱的半径R,可使每个输出端口输出较高的透射率。  相似文献

填充率渐变引起的能带结构和等频面结构的变化是填充率渐变型波状结构二维(2D)光子晶体(PC)产生光路转弯现象的根本原因,由于TM模和TE模在能带结构上存在差异,光路转弯现象就具有明显的偏振选择特性,能够实现归一化频率a/λ为0.29~0.33的偏振分束。利用时域有限差分(FDTD)法模拟了TM模的U型转弯波导,发现出射光位置对入射波长和入射角的变化很敏感,位移变化量分别达到0.38μm/10 nm和0.29μm/(°)。利用TM模的U型转弯波导构建了新型的平行平面谐振腔,并指出由填充率渐变型波状结构二维光子晶体和一维多层薄膜构成的混合结构在光分束和抑制光束发散方面的作用及其在平行平面谐振腔中的潜在应用。  相似文献

We propose an ultracompact high-efficiency polarizing beam splitter that operates over a wide wavelength range and is based on a hybrid photonic crystal and a conventional waveguide structure. Within a small area (15 microm x 10 microm), this polarizing beam splitter separates TM- and TE-polarized modes into orthogonal output waveguides. Results of simulations with the two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method show that 99.3% of TM-polarized light is deflected by the photonic crystal structure (with a 28.0-dB extinction ratio), whereas 99.0% of TE-polarized light propagates through the structure (with a 32.2-dB extinction ratio). Wave vector diagrams are employed to explain the operation of a polarizing beam splitter. Tolerance analysis reveals a large tolerance to fabrication errors.  相似文献

We report on the incoherent beam combination of the four narrow-linewidth fiber amplifier chains running at different wavelengths. Each main amplifier stage consists of a large-mode-area photonic crystal fiber delivering more than 2 kW of optical power. The four output beams are spectrally combined to a single beam with an output power of 8.2 kW using a polarization-independent dielectric reflective diffraction grating mainly preserving the beam quality of the individual fiber amplifiers.  相似文献

We demonstrate single higher-order transverse mode operation of a radially polarized Nd:YAG laser by using a polarization-selective and reflectivity-modulated output coupler. A narrow annular region with low reflectivity fabricated in a photonic crystal mirror behaves so as to select a higher-order transverse mode of a cylindrically symmetric laser beam. A double-ring-shaped radially polarized TM(02) mode beam is stably generated.  相似文献

结合能带图和等频图分析,基于光子晶体自准直和光子带隙效应,设计了一种紧凑、高效的全光子晶体马赫-曾德尔(MZ)干涉仪.相应的光分束器和反射镜均由缺陷结构的光子晶体实现.讨论了干涉仪的输出机理,并与时域有限差分法(FDTD)模拟结果进行了比较.结果分析表明可以把MZ干涉仪作为一种气体、液体微型探测器.可在集成光学中起到重要的作用. 关键词: 光子晶体 自准直 MZ干涉仪  相似文献

将五光子晶体单模波导平行、邻近放置构成定向耦合器,依据自映像原理,数值分析了输入光场对称入射时,该系统中光的传播行为.基于此结构,设计了1×3光分束器,其器件长度可短至14.26μm.仅仅通过对称地改变耦合区中两个介质柱的有效折射率,使光场在横向发生重新分布,便可实现输出能量的均分或自由分配.通过非对称地改变耦合区中的一个介质柱,可实现3个输出端的输出能量的自由分配.该光分束器具有微小尺寸和各输出端输出能量的比例可自由调制的特点,在未来集成光回路中具有广泛的应用价值.  相似文献

基于波导间能量耦合效应的光子晶体功率分束器具有结构紧凑、带宽较宽、弯曲损耗低、分光角度大和不受外界电磁场干扰等优点.本文利用时域有限差分方法,理论研究了二维三角晶格光子晶体耦合波导的功率分束特性,设计得出了一种能够在宽频谱范围内针对不同频率区间实现不同分光比的功能器件.在此基础上通过改变耦合区介质柱形状以及输出分支波导与能量耦合波导的连接位置,最终针对三个相邻频率范围内的入射光信号,较好地实现了三均分、二均分、单一输出通道这3种能量分配输出模式.该功能器件具有透过率对比度高、结构紧凑等特性,对于发展全光功能器件在大规模全光复杂集成领域内的实际应用具有一定的促进作用.  相似文献

光子晶体是一种具有光子带隙的新型人工材料,利用其具有控制和限制光子运动的特性可以制成新颖的光学器件。利用硅基二维光子晶体,提出了一种4端口耦合器。采用时域有限差分法作为研究工具,TM模作为研究对象,从理论上分析了这种器件的特性。在不同的耦合长度下研究光在输出端的功率透射率。结果表明选择适当的耦合长度可以使光在器件中呈现不同的状态。进一步研究表明,通过改变器件内部介质柱的半径,可以改变光在输出端的输出功率。从而证实了这种器件不仅具有波长选择性,而且具有潜在的可调节性,这些特性使得这种器件在全光开关的应用上具有潜在的优势。  相似文献

An InGaAs sub-monolayer (SML) quantum dot photonic crystal vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (QD PhC-VCSEL) for fiber-optic applications is first time demonstrated. The active region of the device contains 3 InGaAs SML QD layers. Each of the InGaAs SML QD layer is formed by alternate deposition of InAs (<1 ML) and GaAs. Single fundamental mode CW output power of 3.8 mW at 28 mA has been achieved in the 990 nm range, with a threshold current of 0.9 mA. Side-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) larger than 35 dB has been demonstrated over entire current operation range. The beam profile study of the PhC-VCSEL indicates that the laser beam is well confined by the photonic crystal structure of the device. The divergence angle of the devices remains almost unchanged with increasing current.  相似文献

A tunable power splitter is proposed in a two-dimensional photonic crystal with a line defect composed of two rows rods, whose refractive index can be controlled artificially. This device is working at a self-collimation frequency. The finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulations show that the beam splitting ratio is a function of the refractive index of line defect. If the index varies from 3.0 to 3.5, the beam intensity of one output port decreases from 87.2% (normalized by the input beam) to 0 while the intensity of the other output port increases from 8.98% to 100% monotonically. The coupling between the self-collimation mode and the defect mode is used to explain the working mechanism.  相似文献

Photonic graphene, possesses a honeycomb-like geometric structure, provides a superior platform for simulating photonic bandgap, Dirac physics, and topological photonics. Here, the photonic graphene with reconfigurable geometric structures is demonstrated in a 5S1/2 − 5P3/2 − 5D5/2 cascade-type 85Rb atomic ensembles. A strong hexagonal-coupling field, formed by the interference of three identical coupling beams, is responsible for optically inducing photonic graphene in atomic vapor. The incident weak probe beam experiences discrete diffraction, and the observed pattern at the output plane of vapor cell exhibits a clear hexagonal intensity distribution. The complete photonic graphene geometries from transversely stretched to longitudinally stretched are conveniently constructed by varying the spatial arrangement of three coupling beams, and the corresponding diffraction patterns are implemented theoretically and experimentally to map these distorted geometric structures. Moreover, the distribution of lattice sites intensity in photonic graphene is further dynamically adjusted by two-photon detuning and the coupling beams power. This work paves the way for further investigation of light transport and graphene dynamics.  相似文献

We demonstrate experimentally a transition from nonlinear beam trapping to defocusing in a two-dimensional periodic photonic structures by varying the modulation depth of the lattice. The observed effect illustrates the fundamental crossover from discrete to cw transport mechanisms. At the threshold modulation, the output beam is highly sensitive to refractive index and power variations, which can be potentially applied for high-sensitivity refractive index or temperature sensing.  相似文献

为了提高GaN基发光二极管(LED)的外量子效率,在蓝宝石衬底制作了二维光子晶体.衬底上的二维光子晶体结构采用激光全息技术和感应耦合等离子体(ICP)干法刻蚀技术制作,然后采用金属氧化物化学气相沉积(MOCVD)技术在图形蓝宝石衬底(PSS)上生长2μm厚的n型GaN层,4层量子阱和200nm厚的p型GaN层,形成LED结构.衬底上制作的二维光子晶体为六角晶格结构,晶格常数为3.8μm,刻蚀深度为800nm.LED器件光强输出测试结果显示,在PSS上制作的LED(PSS-LED)的发光强度普遍高于蓝宝石平 关键词: 全息 发光二极管 图形蓝宝石衬底 外量子效率  相似文献

Novel three-dimensional porous carbon network (3D-PC) anode was developed by a facile in situ NaCl-template method utilizing citric acid as carbon source. The synthesis process involves the dissolution of NaCl and citric acid in deionized water, citric acid coated on NaCl template during freeze-drying process, carbonization of the composites, and removal of the template with water. The resultant 3D-PC presents high electrical conductivity, large specific surface area, sufficient active sites, large interlayer distance, and high mechanical flexibility, which are contributed to the efficient Na-storage. Therefore, the 3D-PC anode displays enhanced rate performance of 101 mAh g?1 at 1000 mA g?1 and extremely long cycle life of 138 mAh g?1 after 2000 cycles at 200 mA g?1. The unique synthesis strategy coupled with the excellent Na-storage performance ensures 3D-PC a promising anode material for low-cost sodium-ion batteries.  相似文献
