Nitrogen-doped titanium oxide (TiOxNy) films were prepared with ion-assisted electron-beam evaporation. The nitrogen (N) incorporated in the film is influenced by the N2 flux modulated by the N2 flow rate through an ion gun. The TiOxNy films have the absorption edge of TiO2 red-shifted to 500 nm and exhibit visible light-induced photocatalytic properties in the surface hydrophilicity and the degradation of methylene blue. The structures and states of nitrogen in the films are investigated by X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and related to their visible light-induced photocatalytic properties. The results indicate that the substitutional N in anatase TiO2 can induce visible light photocatalysis. The substitutional N is readily doped by the energetic nitrogen ions from the ion gun. The best photocatalytic activity is obtained at the largest N loading about 5.6 at.%, corresponding to the most substitutional N in anatase TiO2. The film exhibits the degradation of methylene blue with a rate-constant (k) about 0.065 h−1 and retaining 7° water contact angle on the surface under visible light illumination.  相似文献

In this study, TiO2−xNx/TiO2 double layers thin film was deposited on ZnO (80 nm thickness)/soda-lime glass substrate by a dc reactive magnetron sputtering. The TiO2 film was deposited under different total gas pressures of 1 Pa, 2 Pa, and 4 Pa with constant oxygen flow rate of 0.8 sccm. Then, the deposition was continued with various nitrogen flow rates of 0.4, 0.8, and 1.2 sccm in constant total gas pressure of 4 Pa. Post annealing was performed on as-deposited films at various annealing temperatures of 400, 500, and 600 °C in air atmosphere to achieve films crystallinity. The structure and morphology of deposited films were evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The chemical composition of top layer doped by nitrogen was evaluated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Photocatalytic activity of samples was measured by degradation of Methylene Blue (MB) dye. The optical transmittance of the multilayer film was also measured using ultraviolet-visible light (UV-vis) spectrophotometer. The results showed that by nitrogen doping of a fraction (∼1/5) of TiO2 film thickness, the optical transmittance of TiO2−xNx/TiO2 film was compared with TiO2 thin film. Deposited films showed also good photocatalytic and hydrophilicity activity at visible light.  相似文献

A series of Ti1−xMoxO2−yNy samples were prepared by using sol-gel method and characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. All Ti1−xMoxO2−yNy samples are anatase phase. It is found that Mo, N mono-doping can increase visible light absorption, while (Mo + N) co-doping can greatly enhance absorption in whole visible region. Results of our first-principles band structure calculations reveal that (Mo + N)-doping, especially passivated co-doping can increase the up-limit of dopant concentration and create more impurity bands in the band gap of TiO2, which leads to a greatly increase of its visible-light absorption without a decrease of its redox potential. It reveals that (Mo + N) co-doped TiO2 is promising for a photocatalyst with high photocalystic activity under visible light.  相似文献

In this paper, the effective method for nitrogen-doped TiO2−xNx photocatalyst coated on hollow glass microbeads is described, which uses titanium tetraisopropoxide [Ti(iso-OC3H7)4] as the raw materials and gaseous ammonia as a heat treatment atmosphere. The effects of heat treatment temperature and time on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2−xNx/beads are studied. The photocatalyst is characterized by the UV-vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that when the TiO2−xNx/beads is heated at 650 °C for 5 h, the photocatalytic activity of the TiO2−xNx/beads is the best. Compared with TiO2, the photoabsorption wavelength range of nitrogen-doped TiO2−xNx red shifts of about 60 nm, and the photoabsorption intensity increases as well. The photocatalytic activity of the TiO2−xNx/beads is higher than that of the TiO2/beads under visible light irradiation. The presence of nitrogen neither influences on the transformation of anatase to rutile, nor creates new crystal phases. When the TiO2−xNx/beads is heated at 650 °C for 5 h, the amount of nitrogen-doped is 0.53 wt.% in the TiO2−xNx. As the density of TiO2−xNx/beads prepared is lower than 1.0 g/cm3, it may float on water surface and use broader sunlight spectrum directly.  相似文献

The effect of N2 treatment on the photocatalytic activity of Pt0/TiO2 was investigated. The results showed that after treatment at 500 °C in N2, 70% of the photocatalytic activity of 1.0 wt.% Pt0/TiO2 was lost by the evaluation of photocatalytic oxidation reaction of C3H6. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Ar+ ion sputtering tests revealed that in the course of high-temperature N2 treatment, the size of Pt0 particles on TiO2 increases and a strong interaction between metal and support, i.e. Pt0 particles encapsulated by TixOy, happens, which are the reasons for the deactivation of Pt0/TiO2 photocatalyst treated by high-temperature N2.  相似文献

In this paper, WxTi1−xO2 solid solutions (x = 0.000, 0.005, 0.010, 0.015, and 0.020) microspheres were synthesized with an aerosol-assisted flow synthesis method. The resulting samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), nitrogen sorption, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectrum (DRS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activities of the as-prepared catalysts were measured by the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation (λ ≥ 420 nm). All the solid solutions exhibited higher photocatalytic activities than pure TiO2 and the W0.015Ti0.985O2 solid solution possessed the highest photocatalytic activity. The degradation constant of RhB on W0.015Ti0.985O2 solid solution catalyst was about 15 times of that of the pure TiO2 and 25 times of that of Degussa P25, respectively. This study provides an effective method to prepare visible light photocatalysts on a large scale.  相似文献

Hf1−xSixOy is an attractive candidate material for high-k dielectrics. We report in this work the deposition of ultra-thin Hf1−xSixOy films (0.1 ≤ x ≥ 0.6) on silicon substrate at 450 °C by UV-photo-induced chemical vapour deposition (UV-CVD) using 222 nm excimer lamps. Silicon(IV) and hafnium(IV) organic compounds were used as the precursors. Films from around 5 to 40 nm in thickness with refractive indices from 1.782 to 1.870 were grown. The deposition rate was found to be of 6 nm/min at a temperature of 450 °C. The physical, interfacial and electrical properties of hafnium silicate (Hf1−xSixOy) thin films were investigated by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, ellipsometry, FT-IR, C-V and I-V measurements. XRD showed that they were basically amorphous, while Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), clearly revealed Hf-O-Si absorption in the photo-CVD deposited Hf1−xSixOy films. Surface and interfacial properties were analysed by TEM and XPS. It is found that carbon content in the films deposited by UV-CVD is very low and it also decreases with increasing Si/(Si + Hf) ratio, as low as about 1 at.% at the Si/(Si + Hf) ratio of 60 at.%.  相似文献

Nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide (TiO2−xNx) thin films have been prepared by pulse laser deposition on quartz glass substrates by ablated titanium dioxide (rutile) target in nitrogen atmosphere. The x value (nitrogen concentration) is 0.567 as determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements. UV-vis spectroscopy measurements revealed two characteristic deep levels located at 1.0 and 2.5 eV below the conduction band. The 1.0 eV level is attributable to the O vacancy state and the 2.5 eV level is introduced by N doping, which contributes to narrowing the band-gap by mixing with the O2p valence band. The enhanced degradation efficiency in a broad visible-light range was observed from the degradation of methylene blue and methylene orange by the TiO2−xNx film.  相似文献

Novel Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films with visible light photocatalytic activity were synthesized from the Pd and InVO2 co-doped TiO2 sol via sol-gel method. The photocatalytic activities of Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films were investigated based on the oxidative decomposition of methyl orange in aqueous solution. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy (UV-vis). The results indicate that the Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films are compact, uniform and consist of sphere nanoparticles with diameters about 80-100 nm. The UV-vis spectra show that the Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films extend the light absorption spectrum toward the visible region. XPS results reveal that doped Pd exist in the form of metallic palladium. The photocatalytic experiments demonstrate that Pd doping can effectively enhance the photocatalytic activities of InVO4-TiO2 thin films in decomposition of aqueous methyl orange under visible light irradiation. It has been confirmed that Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films could be excited by visible light (E < 3.2 eV) due to the existence of the Pd and InVO4 doped in the films.  相似文献

TiO2 hollow nanospheres were prepared using silicon oxide as a template. N-doped titanium oxide hollow spheres, TiO2−xNx were synthesized by reacting TiO2 hollow spheres with thiourea at 500 °C. XRD and XPS data showed that oxygen was successfully substituted by nitrogen through the nitrogen-doping reaction, and finally N-doped TiO2 hollow spheres were formed. The N-doped TiO2 hollow spheres showed new absorption shoulder in visible light region so that they were expected to exhibit photocatalytic activity in the visible light. The photocatalytic activity of N-doped TiO2 hollow spheres under visible light was similar to that of normal spherical TiO2−xNx in spite of the structural difference.  相似文献

Silver nanorods with average diameters of 120-230 nm and aspect ratio of 1.7-5.0 were deposited on the surface of TiO2 films by photoelectrochemical reduction of Ag+ to Ag under UV light. The composite films prepared on soda-lime glass substrates were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results show that the TiO2 film after UV irradiation in AgNO3 solution is composed of anatase phase TiO2 and metallic silver with face centered cubic structure. Other compounds cannot be found in the final films. The maximum deposition content of silver particles on the surface of TiO2 film was obtained with the AgNO3 concentration of 0.1 M. The kinetic growth rates of silver particles can be controlled by photocatalytic activity of TiO2 films. The studies suggest that the growth rates of silver particles increase with the enhancement of photocatalytic activity of TiO2 films. The maximum growth rate of silver particles loaded on TiO2 films can be up to 0.353 nm min−1 among samples 1#, 2# and 3#, while the corresponding apparent rate constant of TiO2 is 1.751 × 10−3 min−1.  相似文献

We deposit ternary WCxNy thin films on Si (1 0 0) substrates at 500 °C using direct current (DC) reactive magnetron sputtering in a mixture of CH4/N2/Ar discharge, and explore the effects of substrate bias (Vb) on the intrinsic stress, preferred orientation and phase transition for the obtained films by virtue of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and selective area electron diffraction (SAED). We find that with increasing the absolute value of Vb up to 200 V the carbon (x) and nitrogen (y) atom concentrations of WCxNy films keep almost constant with the values of 0.75 and 0.25, respectively. The XPS and SAED results, combined with the density-functional theory (DFT) calculations on the electronic structure of WC0.75N0.25, show our obtained WCxNy films are single-phase of carbonitrides. Furthermore, we find that the compressive stress sharply increases with increasing the absolute value of Vb, which leads to a pronounced change in the preferred orientation and phase structure for the film, in which a phase transition from cubic β-WCxNy to hexagonal α-WCxNy occurs as Vb is in the range of −40 to −120 V. In order to reveal the relationship between the stress and phase transition as well as preferred orientation, the DFT calculations are used to obtain the elastic constants for β-WCxNy and α-WCxNy. The calculated results show that the preferred orientation is dependent on the competition between strain energy and surface energy, and the phase transition can be attributed to a decrease in the strain energy.  相似文献

TiO2 and TiNxOy thin films grown by low pressure metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (LP-MOCVD) on top of Si(0 0 1) substrate were characterized by X-ray multiple diffraction. X-ray reflectivity analysis of TiO2[1 1 0] and TiNO[1 0 0] polycrystalline layers allowed to determine the growth rate (−80 Å/min) of TiO2 and (−40 Å/min) of TiNO films. X-ray multiple diffraction through the Renninger scans, i.e., ?-scans for (0 0 2)Si substrate primary reflection is used as a non-conventional method to obtain the substrate lattice parameter distortion due to the thin film conventional deposition, from where the information on film strain type is obtained.  相似文献

Hydrogenated amorphous SiC films (a-Si1−xCx:H) were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering technique on p-type Si(1 0 0) and corning 9075 substrates at low temperature, by using 32 sprigs of silicon carbide (6H-SiC). The deposited a-Si1−xCx:H film was realized under a mixture of argon and hydrogen gases. The a-Si1−xCx:H films have been investigated by scanning electronic microscopy equipped with an EDS system (SEM-EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), secondary ions mass spectrometry (SIMS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UV-vis-IR spectrophotometry, and photoluminescence (PL). XRD results showed that the deposited film was amorphous with a structure as a-Si0.80C0.20:H corresponding to 20 at.% carbon. The photoluminescence response of the samples was observed in the visible range at room temperature with two peaks centred at 463 nm (2.68 eV) and 542 nm (2.29 eV). In addition, the dependence of photoluminescence behaviour on film thickness for a certain carbon composition in hydrogenated amorphous SiC films (a-Si1−xCx:H) has been investigated.  相似文献

The mesoporous N, S-codoped TiO2(B) nanobelts are synthesized via hydrothermal synthesis and post-treatment, and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), N2 adsorption-desorption measurements (BET), X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS). The results show that the prepared samples are mesoporous structured and exhibit stronger absorption in the visible light region with red shift in the absorption edge. The photocatalytic activity of N, S-codoped mesoporous TiO2(B) nanobelts is evaluated by the photocatalytic photodegradation of potassium ethyl xanthate (KEX) under visible light irradiation. It is found that the photocatalytic activity of the prepared samples increases with increasing the molar ratio of thiourea to Ti (R). At R = 3, the photocatalytic activity of the N, S-codoped TiO2(B) sample TBLTS-3 reaches a maximum value. With further increasing R, the photocatalytic activity of the sample decreases. The high photocatalytic activity of N, S-codoped TiO2(B) nanobelts can be attributed to the balance between strong absorption in visible light region and low recombination rate of electron/hole pairs.  相似文献

Nitrogen-doped TiO2 (N-TiO2) nanoparticles have been successfully prepared via a direct and simple hydrothermal reaction of a commercial Degussa P25 with triethanol amine as solvent and nitrogen source. As-prepared N-TiO2 was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), ultraviolet-visible light (UV-vis) absorption spectra, electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. The results confirm that hydrothermal reaction is an effective way to incorporate nitrogen into the TiO2 lattice, especially nitrogen substitute for titanium. The nitrogen concentration in TiO2 can be as high as 21% (molar ratio), which is described as Ti1−yO2−xNx+y (in this paper, x=0.36, y=0.27, i.e., Ti0.73O1.64N0.63). The chemical statuses of N have been assigned to N-Ti-O and O-N-O in the TiO2 lattice as identified by XPS. Photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange has been carried out in both UV-vis (simulated solar light) and the visible region (λ>400 nm). N-TiO2 exhibits higher activity than the Degussa P25 TiO2 photocatalyst, particularly under visible-light irradiation. This study has developed a promising and practical pathway to new nitrogen-doped photocatalysts.  相似文献

Increasing environmental pollution caused by the volatile organic compounds due to their toxicity makes their removal imperative. So it is crucial to develop processes which can degrade these compounds effectively. The paper demonstrates that the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 toward the decomposition of gaseous benzene in a batch reactor can be greatly enhanced by loading TiO2 onto the surface of CexZr1−xO2 (x ≥ 0.25) using sol-gel technology. This research investigated the relationship between x amount and the photocatalytic activity of TiO2. The prepared photocatalysts were characterized by BET, XRD, UV-vis diffuse reflectance and XPS analyses. The specific surface area of photocatalyst decreases as x decreases. XRD results reveal the no peaks of titania were detected. Among the five catalysts prepared, only the binding energy values of Ti2p3/2 of TiO2/Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 shift toward lower value. The order of photocatalytic activity is TiO2/Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 > TiO2/Ce0.75Zr0.25O2 > TiO2/CeO2 ≈ TiO2/Ce0.25Zr0.75O2 > TiO2/ZrO2 ≈ TiO2. The mechanism role of Ceria-Zirconia mixed oxides in photocatalytic reaction was speculated.  相似文献

We describe the growth and properties of well-defined epitaxial TiO2−xNx rutile for the first time. A mixed beam of atomic N and O radicals was prepared in an electron cyclotron resonance plasma source and Ti was supplied from a high-temperature effusion cell or an electron beam evaporator, depending on the required flux. A very high degree of structural quality is generally observed for films grown under optimized anion-rich conditions. N substitutes for O in the lattice, but only at the ∼1 at.% level, and is present as N3−. Epitaxial growth of TiO2 and TiO2−xNx rutile prepared under anion-rich conditions is accompanied by Ti indiffusion, leading to interstitial Ti (Tii), which is a shallow donor in rutile. Our data strongly suggest that Tii donor electrons compensate holes associated with substitutional N2− (i.e., Ti(III) + N2− → Ti(IV) + N3−), leading to highly resistive or weakly n-type, but not p-type material. Ti 2p core-level line shape analysis reveals hybridization of N and Ti, as expected for substitutional N. Ti-N hybridized states fall in the gap just above the VBM, and extend the optical absorption well into the visible.  相似文献

In order to improve visible light photocatalytic activities of the nanometer TiO2, a novel and efficient Cr,S-codoped TiO2 (Cr-TiO2-S) photocatalyst was prepared by precipitation-doping method. The crystalline structure, morphology, particle size, and chemical structure of Cr-TiO2-S were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) techniques, respectively. Results indicate that the doping of Cr and S, cause absorption edge shifts to the visible light region (λ > 420 nm) compare to the pure TiO2, reduces average size of the TiO2 crystallites, enhances desired lattice distortion of Ti, promotes separation of photo-induced electron and hole pair, and thus improves pollutant decomposition under visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic activities of Cr-TiO2-S nanoparticles were evaluated using the photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) as probe reaction under the irradiation of UV and visible light and it was observed that the Cr-TiO2-S photocatalyst shows higher visible photocatalytic activity than the pure TiO2. The optimal Cr-TiO2-S concentration to obtain the highest photocatalytic activity was 5 mol% for both of Cr and S.  相似文献

Ge1−xCx films deposited by using a medium frequency magnetron sputtering technique (MFMST) were analyzed with X-ray photoelectron and Raman spectroscopy. The deposited Ge1−xCx films consist of C, Ge, GeC and GeOy. The GeC content in the Ge1−xCx films linearly decreases, and the C content linearly increases with increasing deposition temperature from 150 to 350 °C. The GeC content decreases from 11.6% at a substrate bias of 250 V to a lowest value of 9.6% at 350 V, then increases again to 10.4% at 450 V. While the C content increases from 49.0% at the bias of 250 V to a largest value of 58.0% at 350 V and then maintains this level at 450 V. It is found that selecting a bias parameter seems more effective than deposition temperature if we want to obtain a higher content of GeC in the deposited films. In addition, a new method is presented in this paper to estimate the changes of GeC content in the Ge1−xCx films by observing the shifts of Ge-Ge LO phonon peak in Raman spectra for the Ge1−xCx films. The related mechanism is also discussed in this paper.  相似文献
