The post-corundum phase transition has been investigated in Ti2O3 on the basis of synchrotron X-ray diffraction in a diamond anvil cell and transmission electron microscopy. The new polymorph of Ti2O3 was found at about 19 GPa and 1850 K, and this phase was stable even at about 40 GPa. A new polymorph of Ti2O3 can be indexed on a Pnma orthorhombic cell, and the unit-cell parameters are a=7.6965 (19) Å, b=2.8009 (9) Å, c=7.9300 (23) Å, V=170.95 (15) Å3 at 19 GPa, and a=7.8240 (2) Å, b=2.8502 (1) Å, c=8.1209 (3) Å, V=181.10 (1) Å3 at ambient conditions. The Birch–Murnaghan equation of state yields K 0=206 (3) GPa and K0=4 (fixed) for corundum phase, and K 0=296 (4) GPa and K0=4 (fixed) for the post-corundum phase. The molar volume decreases by 12% across the phase transition at around 20 GPa. The structural identification was carried out on a recovered sample by the Rietveld method, and a new polymorph of Ti2O3 can be identified as Th2S3-type rather than U2S3-type structure. The transition from corundum-type to Th2S3-type structure accompanies the drastic change of the form of polyhedron: from TiO6 octahedron in the corundum-type to TiO7 polyhedron in the Th2S3-type structures.  相似文献

The synthesis of sodium hexatitanate from sodium trititanate was characterized by Raman spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The structural evolution from trititanate to hexatitanate was studied using Raman spectra, XRD and HRTEM techniques. It was found that the Raman bands at 279 cm−1 corresponding to very long Ti O bonds and at 883 cm−1 corresponding to the very short Ti O bonds decrease in intensity and finally disappear during the transition from sodium trititanate to sodium hexatitanate. The band at 922 cm−1 corresponding to an intermediate‐length Ti O bond was observed to become stronger with the increase in temperature, indicating that there is no terminal oxygen atom in the crystal structure of Na2Ti6O13 and that all the oxygen atoms become linearly coordinated by two titanium atoms. Furthermore, the TiO6 octahedron in Na2Ti6O13 are more regular because the very long (2.2 Å) or very short (1.7 Å) Ti O bonds disappear. It is revealed that the phase transition from trititanate to hexatitanate is a step‐by‐step slipping process of the TiO6 octahedral slabs with the loss of sodium cations, and a new phase with formula Na1.5H0.5Ti3O7 has been discovered as an intermediate phase to interlink Na2Ti3O7 and Na2Ti6O13. Green-emitting phosphor Na2Ba2Si2O7:Eu2+ has been synthesized by a conventional high-temperature solid-state reaction. The phase structure and luminescence properties are characterized by the X-ray powder diffraction, diffuse reflectance spectra, photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra, temperature-dependent emission spectra, respectively. It can be efficiently excited in the wavelength range of 325–400 nm and consists of a strong broad green band centered at about 501 nm, which is ascribed to 4f66s05d1 → 4f76s25d0 transition of Eu2+. The critical quenching concentration of Eu2+ in the Na2Ba2Si2O7 host is about 0.8 mol % and corresponding quenching behavior is ascribed to be electric dipole–dipole interaction. Furthermore, the phosphor has good thermal stability property, and the activation energy for thermal quenching is calculated as 0.34 eV.  相似文献

Pressure-induced structural changes on nano-crystalline La0.8Sr0.2Mn0.8Fe0.2O3 were studied using high-pressure Mössbauer spectroscopy and high-pressure X-ray diffraction. Mössbauer measurements up to 10 GPa showed first order transition at 0.52 GPa indicating transformation of Fe4?+? to high spin Fe3?+?, followed by another subtle transition at 3.7 GPa due to the convergence of two different configurations of Fe into one. High-pressure X-ray diffraction measurements carried up to 4.3 GPa showed similar results at 0.6 GPa as well as 3.6 GPa. Attempts were made to explain the changes at 0.6 GPa by reorientation of grain/grain boundaries due to uniaxial stress generated on the application of pressure. Similarly variation at 3.6 GPa can be explained by orthorhombic to monoclinic transition.  相似文献

Eu3+-doped Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 (Eu:NBT) single crystals were grown by a top-seeded solution growth method. Photoluminescence emission and excitation spectra of Eu:NBT were investigated. The two transitions in 7F0 → 5D0 excitation spectra reveal that Eu3+ ions were incorporated into two adjacent crystallographic sites in NBT, i.e., Bi3+ and Na+ sites. The former has a symmetrical surrounding, while the later has a disordered environment, which was confirmed by decay curve measurements. The dielectric dispersion behavior was depressed and the piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties were improved after Eu doping.  相似文献

We have observed the effects of phonon mode softening at the ferroelectric transition in Eu0.5Ba0.5TiO3 by 151Eu Mössbauer spectroscopy. Both Eu2+ and Eu3+ spectral components are observed in the relative area ratio of 90% : 10% and both show a decrease in subspectral area at the transition, centred at 175 K, due to phonon mode softening. Surprisingly, the temperature dependence of the f-factor shows a much stronger response in the Eu3+ component than in the Eu2+ one. Preliminary analysis of neutron powder diffraction data rules out the possibility that some of the europium might be located on titanium sites.  相似文献

Nanocrystal samples (particle size about 90 nm) of Eu3+-doped rutile titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanocrystals (rutile Eu3+/TiO2 nanocrystals) were synthesized by the sol–gel method with hydrothermal treatment. The pressure effect on photoluminescence (PL) and Raman spectra of the rutile Eu3+/TiO2 nanocrystals was investigated with a diamond anvil cell under hydrostatic pressure condition. Raman spectra of the samples at high pressures indicated that the critical pressure for the transition from the rutile phase to a new baddeleyite-type phase was between 10 and 14.2 GPa. The position of Raman bands shifted to high wavenumbers and the PL intensity of 5D 07F 2 transition of Eu3+ decreased down to zero with the increase of pressure before the phase transition occurred. After releasing the pressure, the rutile phase was not recovered and a α-PbO2-type phase was observed at ambient pressure.  相似文献

In the present article, the role of charge compensator ions (R+?=?Li+, Na+ and K+) in europium-doped strontium aluminate (SrAl2O4:Eu3+) phosphors was synthesized by the high-temperature, solid-state reaction method. The crystal structures of sintered phosphors were in a monoclinic phase with space group P21. The trap parameters which are mainly activation energy (E), frequency factor (s) and order of the kinetics (b) were evaluated by using the peak shape method. The calculated trap depths are in the range from 0.76 to 0.84?eV. Photoluminescence measurements showed that the phosphor exhibited emission peak with good intensity at 595?nm, corresponding to 5D07F1 (514?nm) orange emission and weak 5D07F2 (614?nm) red emission. The excitation spectra monitored at 595?nm show a broad band from 220 to 320?nm ascribed to O–Eu charge-transfer state transition and the other peaks in the range of 350–500?nm originated from f–f transitions of Eu3+ ions. The strongest band at 394?nm can be assigned to 7F05L6 transition of Eu3+ ions due to the typical f–f transitions within Eu3+ of 4f6 configuration. The latter lies in near ultraviolet (350–500?nm) emission of UV LED. CIE color chromaticity diagram and thermoluminescence spectra confirm that the synthesized phosphors would emit an orange-red color. Incorporating R+?=?Li+, Na+ and K+ as the compensator charge, the emission intensity of SrAl2O4:Eu3+ phosphor can be obviously enhanced and the emission intensity of SrAl2O4:Eu3+ doping Li+ is higher than that of Na+ or K+ ions.  相似文献

The superconductivity of solid oxygen in ζ phase was investigated by first-principles calculations based on the density functional theory. Using a monoclinic C2/m structure, we calculated the superconducting transition temperature by the Allen–Dynes formula and obtained 2.4 K at 100 GPa for the effective screened Coulomb repulsion constant μ* of 0.13. The transition temperature slowly decreases with increasing pressure and becomes 1.3 K at 200 GPa. The phonon analysis shows that the electron–phonon coupling is dominantly enhanced by the intermolecular vibrations of O2 rather than the intramolecular ones. The phonon modes showing the strong electron–phonon coupling were found to be concentrated in the phonon frequency range of 100–150 cm?1 at around the M-point in the Brillouin zone.  相似文献

Thermal processes can lead to the creation of photoluminescence centers in sol–gel derived Zr5Ti7O24:Eu3+ (ZT:Eu3+) systems. Photosensitivity starts with heat treatments at 700 °C in air. The photoluminescence excitation occurs in the 225–550 nm range. The emission spectra covers the 550–700 nm range and consist of several sharp lines associated with transitions between the stark components of the excited states of the 4f 6 configuration to the 7 F j states of the Eu3+ ion. The crystalline structure of the compound was obtained by X-ray diffraction techniques and is associated with a space group Pbcn. The thermal treatments in the 700–960 °C range have corresponding effects on both, the crystalline parameters and the optical properties of the europium ions. Time-resolved experiments were performed and the results are presented and discussed in order to get a better understanding of the effects of the thermal treatments on the Eu3+ transition lifetimes.  相似文献

Polymer composite comprising polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and potassium hexatitante (K2Ti6O13) was synthesized by solution casting. The effect of K2Ti6O13 on surface, thermal, and electrical properties of polymer composite were investigated. The addition of K2Ti6O13 with polymer leads to thermal degradation and transition of polymer composite from semi-crystalline to amorphous phase. The optimum results of contact angle for different loading wt% of K2Ti6O13 were directly correlated with the surface morphology. Our experimental results confirmed the incorporation of K2Ti6O13 in polymer by SEM micrographs. The evaluated dielectric properties (ε' = 424; tan δ = 2.14 at 130 °C and 100 Hz frequency for 20 wt% loading of K2Ti6O13) for polymer composite are higher in compared to pure polymer. The enhancement in dielectric constant and changing the surface properties of polymer composite can be used for the development of electrochemical storage device applications.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The structural properties of pyrochlore Eu2Zr2O7 under high pressure have been studied by using Raman spectroscopy and in situ angle-dispersive X-ray diffraction (ADXRD). The results of Raman spectra indicate that Eu2Zr2O7 undergoes a reversible structural change around 21.2?GPa. The results of Rietveld refinements from in situ ADXRD data indicate that the ordered pyrochlore structure (Fd-3m) transforms to the defect-cotunnite structure (Pnma) at 26.5?GPa. The phase transition is irreversible and the transformation process is mainly induced by the accumulations of anti-site defects of the cation sublattice and Frenkel defects on the anion sublattice. Besides, the <Zr–O> bonds should play a more important role than the <Eu–O> bonds in the process of the phase transformation.  相似文献

The excitation spectra of M (M=Si4+, Ti4+) and Eu3+ co-doped BaZr(BO3)2, BaZrO3:Eu and La2Zr2O7:Eu in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) regions of 110-300 nm are investigated and the host-lattice absorption are characterized. The result indicated that BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+ phosphor has a strong absorption under the VUV excitation, and in the host-lattice excitation, the strong band at 130-160 nm could be due to the BO3 atomic groups; the band at 160-180 nm is related to the excitation of Ba-O; 180-200 nm corresponds to the charge transfer (CT) transition of Zr-O. The band at 200-235 nm due to the CT band of Eu3+-O2− and a bond valence study explained the observed weak CT band of Eu3+-O2− in the excitation spectra of BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+. The emission results show that Si4+ can sensitize luminescence in the host of BaZr(BO3)2:Eu but Ti4+ has no improvement effect on luminescence.  相似文献

Red long-lasting phosphor Y2O2S:Eu3+, Zn2+, Ti4+ nanotubes were prepared by hydrothermal method. Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence and thermoluminescence spectra (TL) were used to characterize the long-lasting phosphor. XRD investigation revealed that the product synthesised under 750 °C for 6 h was a pure phase of Y2O2S. SEM observation showed that the sulfuretted phosphor inherited the tube-like shape from the precursor. Under 325 nm UV excitation, the result indicated the strongest red-emission lines at 627 nm, corresponded to the transition from 5D0 to 7F2 level of Eu3+ ion. Both the afterglow decay curves and TL curves revealed that the phosphor had efficient luminescent and excellent long-lasting properties.  相似文献

A detailed study on the structural deformation of trititanate nanofibers after the adsorption of divalent strontium (Sr) and barium (Ba) cations was conducted by using Raman spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It was found that the Raman bands at 309 cm−1 corresponding to very long Ti O bonds (2.2 Å) and at 883 cm−1 corresponding to the very short Ti O bonds (1.7 Å) decreased in intensity after the adsorption of Ba2+ and Sr2+ cations. Additionally, the band at 922 cm−1 corresponding to an intermediate length Ti O bond was observed to weaken with the adsorption of divalent cations, indicating that the TiO6 octahedra in Na2Ti3O7 are more regular. These results suggest that the active sodium (Na+) cations in Na2Ti3O7 should be located at the corner of the TiO6 octahedral slabs, i.e. the plane (003). This was further confirmed by a large decrease of diffraction intensity of the plane (003) observed in the XRD pattern. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Eu3+ (8 mol%) activated gadolinium oxide nanorods have been prepared by hydrothermal method without and with surfactant, cityl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB). Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) studies reveal that the as-formed product is in hexagonal Gd(OH)3:Eu phase and subsequent heat treatment at 350 and 600 °C transforms the sample to monoclinic GdOOH:Eu and cubic Gd2O3:Eu phases, respectively. The structural data and refinement parameters for cubic Gd2O3:Eu nanorods were calculated by the Rietveld refinement. SEM and TEM micrographs show that as-obtained Gd(OH)3:Eu consists of uniform nanorods in high yield with uniform diameters of about 15 nm and lengths of about 50-150 nm. The temperature dependent morphological evolution of Gd2O3:Eu without and with CTAB surfactant was studied. FTIR studies reveal that CTAB surfactant plays an important role in converting cubic Gd2O3:Eu to hexagonal Gd(OH)3:Eu. The strong and intense Raman peak at 489 cm−1 has been assigned to Ag mode, which is attributed to the hexagonal phase of Gd2O3. The peak at ∼360 cm−1 has been assigned to the combination of Fg and Eg modes, which is mainly attributed to the cubic Gd2O3 phase. The shift in frequency and broadening of the Raman modes have been attributed to the decrease in crystallite dimension to the nanometer scale as a result of phonon confinement.  相似文献

TiO2 Nano rods can be used as dye-sensitized solar cells, various sensors and photocatalysts. These nanorods are synthesized by a hydrothermal corrosion process in NaOH solution at 200°C using TiO2 powder as the source material. In the present work, the synthesis of TiO2 nanorods in anatase, rutile and Ti7O13 phases and synthesis of TiO2 nanorods by incorporating SiO2 dopant, using the sol–gel method and alkaline corrosion are reported. The morphologies and crystal structures of the TiO2 nanorods are characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) study. The obtained results show not only an aggregation structure at high calcination temperatures with spherical particles but also Ti–O–Si bonds having four-fold coordination with oxygen in SiO4 − .  相似文献

The refined cell parameters obtained from synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction data for the rhombohedral phase at ambient pressure are a=6.109 (2) Å and α=60.3 (1)°. The pressure-dependent synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction studies show a phase transition around 8.44±1 GPa, where it transforms from rhombohedral structure to a monoclinic structure. The lattice parameters obtained for the monoclinic phase at a pressure of 15±1 GPa are a=5.91 (2) Å, b=6.25 (3) Å and c=8.22 (1) Å with monoclinic angle, β=88 (1)°.  相似文献

A series of hexaborides La1?xEuxB6 (x=0.0–1.0) were synthesized under a pressure of 3.5 GPa and at a temperature of 1600C using La2O3, Eu2O3 and amorphous boron as the starting materials. The products were characterized by X‐ray Diffraction (XRD) and Mössbauer spectroscopy. XRD data analysis shows that all samples crystallize in a cubic CsCl‐type structure, and the cell volume increases with x. Room temperature 151Eu Mössbauer measurements reveal that Eu ions in all samples are in the divalent state, except for the x=1.0 sample where a small amount of Eu3+ ions was detected. The quadrupole splitting of the Eu2+ ions is positive. Eu ions were reduced from trivalent to divalent during the high‐pressure and ‐temperature processes. The isomer shifts of the Eu2+ ions are all smaller than ?12.5 mm/s, suggesting that there is no valence fluctuation in the samples. The hexaborides doped by divalent Eu are not metallic.  相似文献

Abstract

Luminescence spectra from Eu3 + ion in B-type (monoclinic) 2O3 powder have been recorded at room temperature as a function of pressure using a diamond anvil cell. Changes in the spectral pattern of the Eu3 + ion emission at about 4 GPa indicated that a phase transition to the A-type (hexagonal) structure had taken place. Upon release of the applied pressure, the B-type structure was regained with hysteresis. The spectral shifts with pressure have been used to study the effect of pressure on the spin-orbit interaction of the 4f electrons in the Ed + ion. The relationship between the relative changes in the spin-orbit coupling constant, ζ4f, and the volume accompanying the phase transition is also discussed.  相似文献
