In this paper we consider a class of symmetric Cantor sets in R. Under certain separation condition we determine the exact packing measure of such a Cantor set through the computation of the lower density of the uniform probability measure supported on the set. With an additional restriction on the dimension we give also the exact centered Hausdorff measure by computing the upper density.  相似文献

In this note it is shown that the sum of two homogeneous Cantor sets is often a uniformly contracting self-similar set and it is given a sufficient condition for such a set to be of Lebesgue measure zero (in fact, of Hausdorff dimension less than one and positive Hausdorff measure at this dimension).

In this work, we will establish new results on the boundedness, existence and uniqueness of the solutions to a class of doubly perturbed neutral stochastic functional equations with Markovian switching and Poisson jumps. Most of the existing results use a singly perturbed model and a global Lipschitz condition, but in this work the doubly perturbed model has been studied and the coefficients of equations are non-Lipschitz. For homogeneous one-dimensional Cantor sets, which are not necessarily self-similar, we show under some restrictions that the Euler exponent equals the quantization dimension of the uniform distribution on these Cantor sets. Moreover for a special sub-class of these sets we present a linkage between the Hausdorff and the Packing measure of these sets and the high-rate asymptotics of the quantization error.  相似文献

Motivated by Mandelbrot's [The Fractal Geometry of Nature, Freeman, San Francisco, 1983] idea of referring to lacunarity of Cantor sets in terms of departure from translation invariance, we study the properties of these translation sets and show how they can be used for a classification purpose. This first paper of a series of two will be devoted to set up the fundamental properties of Hausdorff measures of those intersection sets. Using the triadic expansion of the shifting number, we determine the fractal structure of intersection of triadic Cantor sets with their translates. We found that the Hausdorff measure of these sets forms a discrete spectrum whose non-zero values come only from those shifting numbers with a finite triadic expansion. We characterize this set of shifting numbers by giving a partition expression of it and the steps of its construction from a fundamental root set. Finally, we prove that intersection of Cantor sets with their translates verify a measure-conservation law with scales. The second paper will take advantage of the properties exposed here in order to utilize them in a classification context. Mainly, it will deal with the use of the discrete spectrum of measures to distinguish two Cantor-like sets of the same fractal dimension.  相似文献

It is proved that, under standard conditions (in particular the convexity of the velocity set), the boundedness of the individual solutions of a contingent equation implies the uniform boundedness of the solutions, and consequently the boundedness of the reachable sets. This result is used to obtain an existence theorem in optimal control theory. By means of an example, it is shown that the convexity condition cannot be omitted.  相似文献

In this paper we consider some families of random Cantor sets on the line and investigate the question whether the condition that the sum of Hausdorff dimension is larger than one implies the existence of interior points in the difference set of two independent copies. We prove that this is the case for the so called Mandelbrot percolation. On the other hand the same is not always true if we apply a slightly more general construction of random Cantor sets. A class of ultrametric Cantor sets (C, d u ) introduced recently (S. Raut and D. P. Datta, Fractals 17, 45–52 (2009)) is shown to enjoy some novel properties. The ultrametric d u is defined using the concept of relative infinitesimals and an inversion rule. The associated (infinitesimal) valuation which turns out to be both scale and reparametrization invariant, is identified with the Cantor function associated with a Cantor set $ \tilde C $ \tilde C , where the relative infinitesimals are supposed to live in. These ultrametrics are both metrically as well as topologically inequivalent compared to the topology induced by the usual metric. Every point of the original Cantor set C is identified with the closure of the set of gaps of $ \tilde C $ \tilde C . The increments on such an ultrametric space is accomplished by following the inversion rule. As a consequence, Cantor functions are reinterpreted as locally constant functions on these extended ultrametric spaces. An interesting phenomenon, called growth of measure, is studied on such an ultrametric space. Using the reparametrization invariance of the valuation it is shown how the scale factors of a Lebesgue measure zero Cantor set might get deformed leading to a deformed Cantor set with a positive measure. The definition of a new valuated exponent is introduced which is shown to yield the fatness exponent in the case of a positive measure (fat) Cantor set. However, the valuated exponent can also be used to distinguish Cantor sets with identical Hausdorff dimension and thickness. A class of Cantor sets with Hausdorff dimension log3 2 and thickness 1 are constructed explicitly.  相似文献

We consider quasi-self-similar measures with respect to all real numbers on a Cantor dust. We define a local index function on the real numbers for each quasi-self-similar measure at each point in a Cantor dust, The value of the local index function at the real number zero for all the quasi-self-similar measures at each point is the weak local dimension of the point. We also define transformed measures of a quasi-self-similar measure which are closely related to the local index function. We compute the local dimensions of transformed measures of a quasi-self-similar measure to find the multifractal spectrum of the quasi-self-similar measure, Furthermore we give an essential example for the theorem of local dimension of transformed measure. In fact, our result is an ultimate generalization of that of a self- similar measure on a self-similar Cantor set. Furthermore the results also explain the recent results about weak local dimensions on a Cantor dust.  相似文献

We introduce the notion of partial uniform boundedness of solutions with partially controlled initial conditions in the general case, that is, the case in which the part of variables with respect to which the boundedness of solutions is studied is a subset of the part of variables with respect to which the initial conditions are controlled. We obtain a criterion for the partial uniform boundedness of solutions with partly controlled initial conditions. We introduce the notion of partial total boundedness of solutions with partly controlled initial conditions. We obtain a sufficient condition for the partial total boundedness of solutions with partly controlled initial conditions.  相似文献
