In this paper we investigate finite rank operators in the Jacobson radical of Alg( ), where are nests. Based on the concrete characterizations of rank one operators in Alg( ) and , we obtain that each finite rank operator in can be written as a finite sum of rank one operators in and the weak closure of equals Alg( ) if and only if at least one of is continuous.  相似文献

A subsemigroup S of a semigroup Q is a straight left order in Q and Q is a semigroup of straight left quotients of S if every qQ can be written as for some with a b in Q and if, in addition, every element of S that is square cancellable lies in a subgroup of Q. Here a denotes the group inverse of a in some (hence any) subgroup of Q. If S is a straight left order in Q, then Q is necessarily regular; the idea is that Q has a better understood structure than that of S. Necessary and sufficient conditions exist on a semigroup S for S to be a straight left order. The technique is to consider a pair of preorders on S. If such a pair satisfies conditions mimicking those satisfied by on a regular semigroup, and if certain subsemigroups of S are right reversible, then S is a straight left order. The conditions required for to satisfy are somewhat lengthy. In this paper we aim to circumvent some of these by specialising in two ways. First we consider only fully stratified left orders, that is, the case where (certainly the most natural choice for ) and the other is to insist that S be abundant, that is, every -class and every -class of S contains an idempotent. Our results may be used to show that the monoid of endomorphisms of a hereditary basis algebra of finite rank is a fully stratified straight left order. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Given a unital C*-algebra and a right C*-module over , we consider the problem of finding short smooth curves in the sphere = {x ∈ : 〈x, x〉 = 1}. Curves in are measured considering the Finsler metric which consists of the norm of at each tangent space of . The initial value problem is solved, for the case when is a von Neumann algebra and is selfdual: for any element x 0 ∈ and any tangent vector ν at x 0, there exists a curve γ(t) = e tZ (x 0), Z ∈ , Z* = −Z and ∥Z∥ ≤ π, such that γ(0) = x 0 and (0) = ν, which is minimizing along its path for t ∈ [0, 1]. The existence of such Z is linked to the extension problem of selfadjoint operators. Such minimal curves need not be unique. Also we consider the boundary value problem: given x 0, x 1 ∈ , find a curve of minimal length which joins them. We give several partial answers to this question. For instance, let us denote by f 0 the selfadjoint projection Ix 0x 0, if the algebra f 0 f 0 is finite dimensional, then there exists a curve γ joining x 0 and x 1, which is minimizing along its path.   相似文献

The concepts of an annihilator and a relative annihilator in an autometrized l-algebra are introduced. It is shown that every relative annihilator in a normal autometrized l-algebra is an ideal of and every principal ideal of is an annihilator of . The set of all annihilators of forms a complete lattice. The concept of an I-polar is introduced for every ideal I of . The set of all I-polars is a complete lattice which becomes a two-element chain provided I is prime. The I-polars are characterized as pseudocomplements in the lattice of all ideals of containing I.  相似文献

Let ABCDE be a pentagon inscribed in a circle. It is proved that if is a C4-generic smooth convex planar oval with four vertices (stationary points of curvature), then there are two similarities φ such that the quadrangle φ(ABCD) is inscribed in and the point φ(E)lies inside , as well as two similarities ψ such that the quadrangle ψ(ABCD) is inscribed in and ψ(E)lies outside . Itisalsoprovedthatif n is odd, then any smoothly embedded circle γ ↪ ℝn contains the vertices of an equilateral (n + 1)-link polygonal line lying in a hyperplane of ℝn. If H is a Hopf algebra with bijective antipode and α, βAut Hopf (H), we introduce a category , generalizing both Yetter-Drinfeld modules and anti-Yetter-Drinfeld modules. We construct a braided T-category having all the categories as components, which, if H is finite dimensional, coincides with the representations of a certain quasitriangular T-coalgebra DT(H) that we construct. We also prove that if (α, β) admits a so-called pair in involution, then is isomorphic to the category of usual Yetter-Drinfeld modules . In the paper isometries in pseudo MV-algebras are investigated. It is shown that for every isometry f in a pseudo MV-algebra = (A, ⊕, , , 0, 1) there exists an internal direct decomposition of with commutative such that and for each xA. On the other hand, if is an internal direct decomposition of a pseudo MV-algebra = (A, ⊕, , , 0, 1) with commutative, then the mapping g: AA defined by is an isometry in and .   相似文献

Let be a disjoint iteration group on the unit circle , that is a family of homeomorphisms such that F v1F v2 = F v1+v2 for v 1, v 2V and each F v either is the identity mapping or has no fixed point ((V, +) is a 2-divisible nontrivial Abelian group). Denote by the set of all cluster points of {F v (z), vV} for . In this paper we give a general construction of disjoint iteration groups for which .  相似文献

We consider the moduli space r of polygons with fixed side lengths in five-dimensional Euclidean space. We analyze the local structure of its singularities and exhibit a real-analytic equivalence between r and a weighted quotient of n-fold products of the quaternionic projective line 1 by the diagonal PSL(2, )-action. We explore the relation between r and the fixed point set of an anti-symplectic involution on a GIT quotient Gr(2, 4) n /SL(4, ℂ). We generalize the Gel'fand—MacPherson correspondence to more general complex Grassmannians and to the quaternionic context, and realize our space r as a quotient of a subspace in the quaternionic Grassmannian Gr(2, n) by the action of the group Sp(1) n . We also give analogues of the Gel'fand—Tsetlin coordinates on the space of quaternionic Hermitean marices and briefly describe generalized action—angle coordinates on r .  相似文献

Let be a complex unital Banach algebra. An element a ∈ is said to be Hermitian if ‖exp(ita)‖ = 1 for all t ∈ ℝ. In the case of the algebra of bounded linear operators in a Hilbert space, this Hermitian property agrees with the ordinary self-adjointness. If a ∈ is Hermitian, then ‖a‖ = |a|, where |a| denotes the spectral radius of a. A function F: ℝ → ℂ is called a universal symbol if ‖F(a)‖ = | F(a)| for every and all Hermitian a ∈ . We characterize universal symbols in terms of positive-definite functions.  相似文献

Denseness of holomorphic functions attaining their numerical radii   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
For two complex Banach spaces X and Y, (B X; Y) will denote the space of bounded and continuous functions from B X to Y that are holomorphic on the open unit ball. The numerical radius of an element h in (B X; X) is the supremum of the set
. We prove that every complex Banach space X with the Radon-Nikodym property satisfies that the subset of numerical radius attaining functions in (B X; X) is dense in (B X; X). We also show the denseness of the numerical radius attaining elements of in the whole space, where is the subset of functions in which are uniformly continuous on the unit ball. For C(K) we prove a denseness result for the subset of the functions in (B C(K); C(K)) which are weakly uniformly continuous on the closed unit ball. For a certain sequence space X, there is a 2-homogenous polynomial P from X to X such that for every R > e, P cannot be approximated by bounded and numerical radius attaining holomorphic functions defined on RB X . If Y satisfies some isometric conditions and X is such that the subset of norm attaining functions of (B X; ℂ) is dense in (B X; ℂ), then the subset of norm attaining functions in (B X; Y) is dense in the whole space. Let be the set of nonnegative integers and the ring of integers. Let be the ring of N × N matrices over generated by the following two matrices: one obtained from the identity matrix by shifting the ones one position to the right and the other one position down. This ring plays an important role in the study of directly finite rings. Calculation of invertible and idempotent elements of yields that the subrings generated by them coincide. This subring is the sum of the ideal consisting of all matrices in with only a finite number of nonzero entries and the subring of generated by the identity matrix. Regular elements are also described. We characterize all ideals of , show that all ideals are finitely generated and that not all ideals of are principal. Some general ring theoretic properties of are also established.  相似文献

Furstenberg family and chaos   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
A Furstenberg family F is a family, consisting of some subsets of the set of positive integers, which is hereditary upwards,i.e.A■B and A∈F imply B∈F.For a given system (i.e.,a pair of a complete metric space and a continuous self-map of the space) and for a Furstenberg family F, the definition of F-scrambled pairs of points in the space has been given, which brings the well-known scrambled pairs in Li-Yorke sense and the scrambled pairs in distribution sense to be F-scrambled pairs corresponding respectively to suitable Furstenberg family F.In the present paper we explore the basic properties of the set of F-scrambled pairs of a system. The generically F-chaotic system and the generically strongly F-chaotic system are defined.A criterion for a generically strongly F-chaotic system is showed.  相似文献

We are interested in partially ordered sets with Int isomorphic to Int . We are going to show that they correspond to couples of binary relations on A satisfying some conditions. If is a directed partially ordered set, the only with Int isomorphic to Int are corresponding to direct decompositions of ( denotes the dual of . We introduce the notion of a generalized interval exchange induced by a measurable k-partition of [0,1). can be viewed as the corresponding restriction of a nondecreasing function on ℝ with . A is called λ-dense if λ(A i ∩(a, b))>0 for each i and any 0≤ a< b≤1. We show that the 2–3 Furstenberg conjecture is invalid if and only if there are 2 and 3 λ-dense partitions A and B of [0,1), such that . We give necessary and sufficient conditions for this equality to hold. We show that for each integer m≥2, such that 3∤2m+1, there exist 2 and 3 non λ-dense partitions A and B of [0,1), corresponding to the interval exchanges on 2m intervals, for which and commute.  相似文献

We prove that there exists a finite von Neumann algebra so that for every 1 < p < 2, the Haagerup L p -space associated with embeds isomorphically into .
