We introduce a variation of the proof for weak approximations that is suitable for studying the densities of stochastic processes which are evaluations of the flow generated by a stochastic differential equation on a random variable that may be anticipating. Our main assumption is that the process and the initial random variable have to be smooth in the Malliavin sense. Furthermore, if the inverse of the Malliavin covariance matrix associated with the process under consideration is sufficiently integrable, then approximations for densities and distributions can also be achieved. We apply these ideas to the case of stochastic differential equations with boundary conditions and the composition of two diffusions.

This paper focuses on Pearson diffusions and the spectral high-order approximation of their related Fokker–Planck equations. The Pearson diffusions is a class of diffusions defined by linear drift and quadratic squared diffusion coefficient. They are widely used in the physical and chemical sciences, engineering, rheology, environmental sciences and financial mathematics. In recent years diffusion models have been studied analytically and numerically primarily through the solution of stochastic differential equations. Analytical solutions have been derived for some of the Pearson diffusions, including the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck, Cox–Ingersoll–Ross and Jacobi processes. However, analytical investigations and computations for diffusions with so-called heavy-tailed ergodic distributions are more difficult to perform. The novelty of this research is the development of an accurate and efficient numerical method to solve the Fokker–Planck equations associated with Pearson diffusions with different boundary conditions. Comparisons between the numerical predictions and available time-dependent and equilibrium analytical solutions are made. The solution of the Fokker–Planck equation is approximated using a reduced basis spectral method. The advantage of this approach is that many models for pricing options in financial mathematics cannot be expressed in terms of a stochastic partial differential equation and therefore one has to resort to solving Fokker–Planck type equations.  相似文献

We survey recent effort in establishing the hydrodynamic limits and the fluctuation limits for a class of interacting diffusions in domains. These systems are introduced to model the transport of positive and negative charges in solar cells. They are general microscopic models that can be used to describe macroscopic phenomena with coupled boundary conditions, such as the popula- tion dynamics of two segregated species under competition. Proving these two types of limits represents establishing the functional law of large numbers and the functional central limit theorem, respectively, for the empirical measures of the spatial positions of the particles. We show that the hydrodynamic limit is a pair of deterministic measures whose densities solve a coupled nonlinear heat equations, while the fluctuation limit can be described by a Gaussian Markov process that solves a stochastic partial differential equation.  相似文献

We analyze the effect of nonlinear boundary conditions on an advection-diffusion equation on the half-line. Our model is inspired by models for crystal growth where diffusion models diffusive relaxation of a displacement field, advection is induced by apical growth, and boundary conditions incorporate non-adiabatic effects on displacement at the boundary. The equation, in particular the boundary fluxes, possesses a discrete gauge symmetry, and we study the role of simple, entire solutions, here periodic, homoclinic, or heteroclinic relative to this gauge symmetry, in the global dynamics.  相似文献

Abstract

The article presents a novel variational calculus to analyze the stability and the propagation of chaos properties of nonlinear and interacting diffusions. This differential methodology combines gradient flow estimates with backward stochastic interpolations, Lyapunov linearization techniques as well as spectral theory. This framework applies to a large class of stochastic models including nonhomogeneous diffusions, as well as stochastic processes evolving on differentiable manifolds, such as constraint-type embedded manifolds on Euclidian spaces and manifolds equipped with some Riemannian metric. We derive uniform as well as almost sure exponential contraction inequalities at the level of the nonlinear diffusion flow, yielding what seems to be the first result of this type for this class of models. Uniform propagation of chaos properties w.r.t. the time parameter is also provided. Illustrations are provided in the context of a class of gradient flow diffusions arising in fluid mechanics and granular media literature. The extended versions of these nonlinear Langevin-type diffusions on Riemannian manifolds are also discussed.  相似文献

Summary We study the asymptotic expansion in small time of the solution of a stochastic differential equation. We obtain a universal and explicit formula in terms of Lie brackets and iterated stochastic Stratonovich integrals. This formula contains the results of Doss [6], Sussmann [15], Fliess and Normand-Cyrot [7], Krener and Lobry [10], Yamato [17] and Kunita [11] in the nilpotent case, and extends to general diffusions the representation given by Ben Arous [3] for invariant diffusions on a Lie group. The main tool is an asymptotic expansion for deterministic ordinary differential equations, given by Strichartz [14].  相似文献

In this article we study (possibly degenerate) stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with irregular (or discontinuous) coefficients, and prove that under certain conditions on the coefficients, there exists a unique almost everywhere stochastic (invertible) flow associated with the SDE in the sense of Lebesgue measure. In the case of constant diffusions and BV drifts, we obtain such a result by studying the related stochastic transport equation. In the case of non-constant diffusions and Sobolev drifts, we use a direct method. In particular, we extend the recent results on ODEs with non-smooth vector fields to SDEs.  相似文献

We define heavy-tailed fractional reciprocal gamma and Fisher–Snedecor diffusions by a non-Markovian time change in the corresponding Pearson diffusions. Pearson diffusions are governed by the backward Kolmogorov equations with space-varying polynomial coefficients and are widely used in applications. The corresponding fractional reciprocal gamma and Fisher–Snedecor diffusions are governed by the fractional backward Kolmogorov equations and have heavy-tailed marginal distributions in the steady state. We derive the explicit expressions for the transition densities of the fractional reciprocal gamma and Fisher–Snedecor diffusions and strong solutions of the associated Cauchy problems for the fractional backward Kolmogorov equation.  相似文献

We study the approximation of stochastic differential equations on domains. For this, we introduce modified Itô–Taylor schemes, which preserve approximately the boundary domain of the equation under consideration. Assuming the existence of a unique non-exploding solution, we show that the modified Itô–Taylor scheme of order γ has pathwise convergence order γ ? ε for arbitrary ε > 0 as long as the coefficients of the equation are sufficiently differentiable. In particular, no global Lipschitz conditions for the coefficients and their derivatives are required. This applies for example to the so called square root diffusions.

We study the limiting behavior of the empirical measure of a system of diffusions interacting through their ranks when the number of diffusions tends to infinity. We prove that under certain assumptions the limiting dynamics is given by a McKean–Vlasov evolution equation. Moreover, we show that the evolution of the cumulative distribution function under the limiting dynamics is governed by the generalized porous medium equation with convection. The implications of the results for rank-based models of capital distributions in financial markets are also explained.  相似文献

We define an operator which extends classical differentiation from smooth deterministic functions to certain stochastic processes. Based on this operator, we define a procedure which associates a stochastic analog to standard differential operators and ordinary differential equations. We call this procedure stochastic embedding. By embedding Lagrangian systems, we obtain a stochastic Euler–Lagrange equation which, in the case of natural Lagrangian systems, is called the embedded Newton equation. This equation contains the stochastic Newton equation introduced by Nelson in his dynamical theory of Brownian diffusions. Finally, we consider a diffusion with a gradient drift, a constant diffusion coefficient and having a probability density function. We prove that a necessary condition for this diffusion to solve the embedded Newton equation is that its density be the square of the modulus of a wave function solution of a linear Schrödinger equation. Summary We consider two classes of measure-valued diffusion processes; measure-valued branching diffusions and Fleming-Viot diffusion models. When the basic space is R 1, and the drift operator is a fractional Laplacian of order 1<α≦2, we derive stochastic partial differential equations based on a space-time white noise for these two processes. The former is the expected one by Dawson, but the latter is a new type of stochastic partial differential equation.  相似文献

Focusing on stochastic systems arising in mean-field models, the systems under consideration belong to the class of switching diffusions, in which continuous dynamics and discrete events coexist and interact. The discrete events are modeled by a continuous-time Markov chain. Different from the usual switching diffusions, the systems include mean-field interactions. Our effort is devoted to obtaining laws of large numbers for the underlying systems. One of the distinct features of the paper is the limit of the empirical measures is not deterministic but a random measure depending on the history of the Markovian switching process. A main difficulty is that the standard martingale approach cannot be used to characterize the limit because of the coupling due to the random switching process. In this paper, in contrast to the classical approach, the limit is characterized as the conditional distribution (given the history of the switching process) of the solution to a stochastic McKean–Vlasov differential equation with Markovian switching.  相似文献

We propose a model of inter-bank lending and borrowing which takes into account clearing debt obligations. The evolution of log-monetary reserves of banks is described by coupled diffusions driven by controls with delay in their drifts. Banks are minimizing their finite-horizon objective functions which take into account a quadratic cost for lending or borrowing and a linear incentive to borrow if the reserve is low or lend if the reserve is high relative to the average capitalization of the system. As such, our problem is a finite-player linear–quadratic stochastic differential game with delay. An open-loop Nash equilibrium is obtained using a system of fully coupled forward and advanced-backward stochastic differential equations. We then describe how the delay affects liquidity and systemic risk characterized by a large number of defaults. We also derive a closed-loop Nash equilibrium using a Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman partial differential equation approach.  相似文献

In this paper we obtain the forward equations associated with the evolution of the density, if it exists, of reflected diffusions on the positive orthant with jumps which form a marked point process whose random jump measure possesses a stochastic intensity. These results generalize the so-called generalized Dynkin equations for piecewise deterministic jump processes due to Davis. We then consider the stationary case where the existence of a stochastic intensity is not needed. The techniques are based on local times and the use of random jump measures. We discuss the application of these results to problems arising in queuing and storage processes as well as stationary distributions of diffusions with delayed and jump reflections at the origin. This research was supported in part by the Quebec-France Cooperative Research Program and by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada under Grant OGP 0042024.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with processes which are max-plus counterparts of Markov diffusion processes governed by Ito sense stochastic differential equations. Concepts of max-plus martingale and max-plus stochastic differential equation are introduced. The max-plus counterparts of backward and forward PDEs for Markov diffusions turn out to be first-order PDEs of Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman type. Max-plus additive integrals and a max-plus additive dynamic programming principle are considered. This leads to variational inequalities of Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman type.  相似文献

We give a formula of expanding the solution of a stochastic differential equation (abbreviated as SDE) into a finite Itô-Wiener chaos with explicit residual. And then we apply this formula to obtain several inequalities for diffusions such as FKG type inequality, variance inequality and a correlation inequality for Gaussian measure. A simple proof for Houdré-Kagan's variance inequality for Gaussian measure is also given.  相似文献
