We consider the numerical approximations of the complex amplitude in a coupled bayriver system in this work. One half-circumference is introduced as the artificial boundary in the open sea, and one segment is introduced as the artificial boundary in the river if the river is semi-infinite. On the artificial boundary a sequence of high-order artificial boundary conditions are proposed. Then the original problem is solved in a finite computational domain, which is equivalent to a variational problem. The numerical approximations for the original problem are obtained by solving the variational probiem with the finite element method. The numerical examples show that the artificial boundary conditions given in this work are very effective.  相似文献

In this paper,the numerical solutions of heat equation on 3-D unbounded spatial do-main are considered. n artificial boundary Γ is introduced to finite the computationaldomain.On the artificial boundary Γ,the exact boundary condition and a series of approx-imating boundary conditions are derived,which are called artificial boundary conditions.By the exact or approximating boundary condition on the artificial boundary,the originalproblem is reduced to an initial-boundary value problem on the bounded computationaldomain,which is equivalent or approximating to the original problem.The finite differencemethod and finite element method are used to solve the reduced problems on the finitecomputational domain.The numerical results demonstrate that the method given in thispaper is effective and feasible.  相似文献

This paper discusses the numerical solution of Burgers' equation on unbounded do-mains. Two artificial boundaries are introduced and boundary conditions are obtained onthe artificial boundaries, which are in nonlinear forms. Then the original problem is re-duced to an equivalent problem on a bounded domain. Finite difference method is appliedto the reduced problem, and some numerical examples are given to show the effectivenessof the new approach.  相似文献

Summary. In this paper we consider the numerical simulations of the incompressible materials on an unbounded domain in . A series of artificial boundary conditions at a circular artificial boundary for solving incompressible materials on an unbounded domain is given. Then the original problem is reduced to a problem on a bounded domain, which be solved numerically by a mixed finite element method. The exact boundary condition on a spherical artificial boundary is derived for thethree-dimensional exterior problem of linear elasticity in this paper. After this bound-ary condition is imposed on the artificial boundary, a reduced problem only defined in abounded domain is obtained. A series of approximate problems with increasing accuracycan be derived if one truncates the series term in the variational formulation, which isequivalent to the reduced problem. An error estimate is presented to show how the errordepends on the finite element discretization and the accuracy of the approximate problem.In the end, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the performance of the proposedmethod.  相似文献

The numerical solution of the heat equation in unbounded domains (for a 1D problem‐semi‐infinite line and for a 2D one semi‐infinite strip) is considered. The artificial boundaries are introduced and the exact artificial boundary conditions are derived. The original problems are transformed into problems on finite domains. The space semi‐discretization by finite element method and the full approximation by the implicit‐explicit Euler's method are presented. The solvability of the full discretization schemes is analyzed. Computational examples demonstrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the algorithms. In this paper, we represent a new numerical method for solving the steady-state Stokes equations in an unbounded plane domain. The technique consists in coupling the boundary integral and the finite element methods. An artificial smooth boundary is introduced separating an interior inhomogeneous region from an exterior one. The solution in the exterior domain is represented by an integral equation over the artificial boundary. This integral equation is incorporated into a velocitypressure formulation for the interior region, and a finite element method is used to approximate the resulting variational problem. This is studied by means of an abstract framework, well adapted to the model problem, in which convergence results and optimal error estimates are derived. Computer results will be discussed in a forthcoming paper.  相似文献

The numerical solution of the heat equation on a strip in two dimensions is considered. An artificial boundary is introduced to make the computational domain finite. On the artificial boundary, an exact boundary condition is proposed to reduce the original problem to an initial‐boundary value problem in a finite computational domain. A difference scheme is constructed by the method of reduction of order to solve the problem in the finite computational domain. It is proved that the difference scheme is uniquely solvable, unconditionally stable and convergent with the convergence order 2 in space and order 3/2 in time in an energy norm. This paper addresses the finite element method for the two-dimensional time-dependent Schrödinger equation on an infinite strip by using artificial boundary conditions. We first reduce the original problem into an initial-boundary value problem in a bounded domain by introducing a transparent boundary condition, then fully discretize this reduced problem by applying the Crank-Nicolson scheme in time and a bilinear or quadratic finite element approximation in space. This scheme, by a rigorous analysis, has been proved to be unconditionally stable and convergent, and its convergence order has also been obtained. Finally, two numerical examples are given to verify the accuracy of the scheme.  相似文献

A variational approach to the numerical modelling of forced lateral motions of an Euler–Bernoulli elastic beam is developed for a number of linear boundary conditions using the method of integrodifferential relations. A class of linear boundary actions is considered. A family of quadratic functionals, connecting the displacement field of points of the beam with the bending-moment functions in the cross section and the momentum density is proposed. Variational formulations of the original initial-boundary value problem on the motion of the beam are given and the necessary conditions for the functionals introduced to be stationary are analysed. The integral and local quality characteristics of the admissible approximate solutions are determined. The relation between the variational problems, formulated for the beam model, with the classical Hamilton–Ostrogradskii variational principles is demonstrated. An algorithm for constructing approximate systems of ordinary differential equations is developed, the solution of which yields stationary (minimum) values of the functionals introduced on a specified set of displacement fields, moments and momenta. Examples of calculations of the displacements for an elastic beam and an analysis of the quality of the numerical solutions obtained are presented.  相似文献

本文讨论由Helmholtz方程描述的扩散问题的自然边界元法与有限元法的组合.取一个圆作为公共边界,用Fourier展开建立边界积分方程,将无界区域上的问题化为有界区域上的非局部边值问题.在变分方程中公共边界上的未知量只包含函数本身而不包含其法向导数,从而减少了未知数的数目,并且边界元剐度矩阵只有极少量不同的元素,有利于数值计算.这种组台方法优越于建立在直接边界元法基础上的组合方法.文中证明了变分解的唯一性,数值解的收敛性和误差估计.最后讨论了数值技术并给出一个算倒.  相似文献

In this paper, a new domain decomposition method based on the natural boundary reduction, which solves wave problems over an unbounded domain, is suggestted. An circular artificial boundary is introduced. The original unbounded domain is divided into two subdomains, an internal bounded region and external unbounded region outside the artificial boundary. A Dirichlet-Neumann(D-N) alternating iteration algorithm is constructed. We prove that the algorithm is equavilent to preconditional Richardson iteration method. Numerical studies are performed by finite element method. The numerical results show that the convergence rate of the discrete D-N iteration is independent of the finite element mesh size.  相似文献
