Area Integral Functions and H Functional Calculus for Sectorial Operators on Hilbert Spaces

Area integral functions are introduced for sectorial operators on Hilbert spaces. We establish the equivalence relationship between the square and area integral functions. This immediately extends McIntosh/Yagi's results on H^∞ functional calculus of sectorial operators on Hilbert spaces to the case when the square functions are replaced by the area integral functions.

A note on Marcinkiewicz integral operators

This paper is primarily concerned with proving the L^p boundedness of Marcinkiewicz integral operators with kernels belonging to certain block spaces. We also show the optimality of our condition on the kernel for the L² boundedness of the Marcinkiewicz integral.     

Composition of variable co-efficient singular integral operators

In this paper we give a formula for composition of two singular integral operators with variable co-efficients by explicitly calculating the lower order terms. Also we discuss the boundedness of the lower order terms inL ^p-spaces.     

Approximation by Nonlinear Multivariate Sampling Kantorovich Type Operators and Applications to Image Processing

In this article, we study a nonlinear version of the sampling Kantorovich type operators in a multivariate setting and we show applications to image processing. By means of the above operators, we are able to reconstruct continuous and uniformly continuous signals/images (functions). Moreover, we study the modular convergence of these operators in the setting of Orlicz spaces L ^?(? ⁿ ) that allows us to deal the case of not necessarily continuous signals/images. The convergence theorems in L ^p (? ⁿ )-spaces, L ^αlog ^β L(? ⁿ )-spaces and exponential spaces follow as particular cases. Several graphical representations, for the various examples and image processing applications are included.     

The Estimates for Sharp Maximal Functions of Multilinear Strongly Singular Integral Operators

In this paper, the author obtains that the multilinear operators of strongly singular integral operators and their dual operators are bounded from some L^p（R^n） to L^p（R^n） when the m-th order derivatives of A belong to L^p（R^n） for r large enough. By this result, the author gets the estimates for the Sharp maximal functions of the multilinear operators with the m-th order derivatives of A being Lipschitz functions. It follows that the multilinear operators are （L^p, L^p）-type operators for 1 〈 p 〈 ∞.     

Maximal theorems of Menchoff-Rademacher type in non-commutative Lq-spaces

Estimates for maximal functions provide the fundamental tool for solving problems on pointwise convergence. This applies in particular for the Menchoff-Rademacher theorem on orthogonal series in L₂[0,1] and for results due independently to Bennett and Maurey-Nahoum on unconditionally convergent series in L₁[0,1]. We prove corresponding maximal inequalities in non-commutative L_q-spaces over a semifinite von Neumann algebra. The appropriate formulation for non-commutative maximal functions originates in Pisier's recent work on non-commutative vector valued L_q-spaces.

An abstract transmission problem in a thin layer, I: Sharp estimates

We study an elliptic transmission problem in Banach spaces. The problem is considered on the juxtaposition of two intervals, one of which of small length δ, and models physical phenomena in media constituted by two parts with different physical characteristics. We obtain results of existence, uniqueness, maximal regularity and optimal dependence on the parameter δ for Lp solutions of the problem. The main tools of our approach are impedance and admittance operators (i.e. Dirichlet-to-Neumann and Neumann-to-Dirichlet operators) and H^∞ functional calculus for sectorial operators in Banach spaces.     

Properties of representations of operators acting between spaces of vector-valued functions

A well-known result going back to the 1930s states that all bounded linear operators mapping scalar-valued L ¹-spaces into L ^∞-spaces are kernel operators and that in fact this relation induces an isometric isomorphism between the space of such operators and the space of all bounded kernels. We extend this result to the case of spaces of vector-valued functions. A recent result due to Arendt and Thomaschewski states that the local operators acting on L ^p -spaces of functions with values in separable Banach spaces are precisely the multiplication operators. We extend this result to non-separable dual spaces. Moreover, we relate positivity and other order properties of the operators to corresponding properties of the representations.     

On the behavior of some two-variable p-adic L-functions

We give some p-adic integral representations for the two-variable p-adic L-functions introduced recently by G. Fox. For powers of the Teichmüller character, we use the integral representation to extend the L-function to a larger domain, in which it is a meromorphic function in the first variable and an analytic element in the second. These integral representations imply systems of congruences for the generalized Bernoulli polynomials, improving previous results of Fox, Gunaratne, and the author; they also lead to generalizations of some formulas of Diamond and of Ferrero and Greenberg for p-adic L-functions in terms of the p-adic gamma and log gamma functions.     

On multipliers on compact Lie groups

In this note we announce L ^p multiplier theorems for invariant and noninvariant operators on compact Lie groups in the spirit of the well-known Hörmander-Mikhlin theorem on ? ⁿ and its versions on the torus $\mathbb{T}^n$ . Applications to mapping properties of pseudo-differential operators on L ^p -spaces and to a priori estimates for nonhypoelliptic operators are given.     

Representation of preference orderings on Lp -spaces by integral functionals: discounting,continuity and TAS utility

This paper presents an axiomatic approach in a continuous time framework for representing preference orderings on L^p -spaces in terms of integral functionals. We show that if preference orderings on L^p -spaces satisfy continuity, separability, sensitivity, substitutability, additivity and lower boundedness, then there exists a utility function for the preference orderings such that the utility function is an integral functional with an upper semicontinuous integrand satisfying the growth condition. Moreover, if the preference orderings satisfy the continuity with respect to the weak topology of L^p -spaces, then the integrand is a concave integrand. L p -regularity for parabolic operators with unbounded time-dependent coefficients

We establish the maximal regularity for nonautonomous Ornstein–Uhlenbeck operators in L ^p -spaces with respect to a family of invariant measures, where ${p \in (1, +\infty)}We establish the maximal regularity for nonautonomous Ornstein–Uhlenbeck operators in L ^p -spaces with respect to a family of invariant measures, where p ? (1, +￥){p \in (1, +\infty)} . This result follows from the maximal L ^p -regularity for a class of elliptic operators with unbounded, time-dependent drift coefficients and potentials acting on L^p(\mathbbR^N ){L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^{N} )} with Lebesgue measure.     

Vector-valued Littlewood-Paley-Stein theory for semigroups

We develop a generalized Littlewood-Paley theory for semigroups acting on L^p-spaces of functions with values in uniformly convex or smooth Banach spaces. We characterize, in the vector-valued setting, the validity of the one-sided inequalities concerning the generalized Littlewood-Paley-Stein g-function associated with a subordinated Poisson symmetric diffusion semigroup by the martingale cotype and type properties of the underlying Banach space. We show that in the case of the usual Poisson semigroup and the Poisson semigroup subordinated to the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup on Rⁿ, this general theory becomes more satisfactory (and easier to be handled) in virtue of the theory of vector-valued Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators.     

A pointwise ergodic theorem for contractions in \mathbb{L}_p (ℋ)-spaces

We consider L _p -spaces of measurable functions ranging in a Hilbert space and single out a class of contractions on such spaces for which the pointwise ergodic theorem holds.     

The homogeneous dirichlet problem for quasilinear anisotropic degenerate parabolic-hyperbolic equation with L initial value

The aim of this paper is to prove the well-posedness (existence and uniqueness) of the L^p entropy solution to the homogeneous Dirichlet problems for the anisotropic degenerate parabolic-hyperbolic equations with L^p initial value. We use the device of doubling variables and some technical analysis to prove the uniqueness result. Moreover we can prove that the L^p entropy solution can be obtained as the limit of solutions of the corresponding regularized equations of nondegenerate parabolic type.     

Complete convergence theorems for L-mixingales

Sufficient conditions for the complete convergence for the partial sums and the random selected partial sums of L^p-mixingales are given. Necessary conditions are also discussed.     

Kato's square root problem in Banach spaces

Let L be an elliptic differential operator with bounded measurable coefficients, acting in Bochner spaces Lp(Rn;X) of X -valued functions on Rn. We characterize Kato's square root estimates and the H^∞-functional calculus of L in terms of R-boundedness properties of the resolvent of L, when X is a Banach function lattice with the UMD property, or a noncommutative Lp space. To do so, we develop various vector-valued analogues of classical objects in Harmonic Analysis, including a maximal function for Bochner spaces. In the special case X=C, we get a new approach to the Lp theory of square roots of elliptic operators, as well as an Lp version of Carleson's inequality.     

Necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of rough B-fractional integral operators in the Lorentz spaces

In this paper, the necessary and sufficient conditions are found for the boundedness of the rough B-fractional integral operators from the Lorentz spaces Lp,s,γ to Lq,r,γ, 1<p<q<∞, 1?r?s?∞, and from L1,r,γ to Lq,∞,γ≡WLq,γ, 1<q<∞, 1?r?∞. As a consequence of this, the same results are given for the fractional B-maximal operator and B-Riesz potential.
