In this paper, we consider the global existence of weak solutions for a two‐component μ‐Camassa–Holm system in the periodic setting. Global existence for strong solutions to the system with smooth approximate initial value is derived. Then, we show that the limit of approximate solutions is a global‐in‐time weak solution of the two‐component μ‐Camassa–Holm system. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We consider a weakly dissipative modified two‐component Dullin–Gottwald–Holm system. The existence of global weak solutions to the system is established. We first give the well‐posedness result of viscous approximate problem and obtain the basic energy estimates. Then, we show that the limit of the viscous approximation solutions is a global weak solution to the system. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study the Dirichlet problem for the stationary Oseen equations around a rotating body in an exterior domain. Our main results are the existence and uniqueness of weak and very weak solutions satisfying appropriate Lq‐estimates. The uniqueness of very weak solutions is shown by the method of cut‐off functions with an anisotropic decay. Then our existence result for very weak solutions is deduced by a duality argument from the existence and estimates of strong solutions. From this and interior regularity of very weak solutions, we finally establish the complete D1,r‐result for weak solutions of the Oseen equations around a rotating body in an exterior domain, where 4/3<r <4. Here, D1,r is the homogeneous Sobolev space.  相似文献

This paper presents the Galerkin approximation of the optimization problem of a system governed by non‐linear second‐order evolution equation where a non‐linear operator depends on derivative of the state of the system. The control is acting on a non‐linear equation. After giving some results on the existence of optimal control we shall prove the existence of the weak and strong condensation points of a set of solutions of the approximate optimization problems. Each of these points is a solution of the initial optimization problem. Finally we shall give a simple example using the obtained results. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study the existence and uniqueness of strong solutions for the equations of non‐homogeneous asymmetric fluids. We use an iterative approach and we prove that the approximate solutions constructed by this method converge to the strong solution of these equations. We also give bounds for the rate of convergence. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This contribution deals with measure‐valued solutions to two types of nonlinear partial differential equations for which, in general, the results on the existence of classical or weak solutions fail. These are the potential equation for transonic flow and the associated unsteady problem (forward–backward diffusion equation). The solutions are constructed by an iteration scheme (Katchanov method) and additional time discretization (Rothe method) in the second case. The existence is proved in the sense of spatial gradient Young measures. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a three‐dimensional planetary geostrophic viscous model of the gyre‐scale mid‐latitude ocean. We show the global existence and uniqueness of the weak and strong solutions to this model. Moreover, we establish the existence of a finite‐dimensional global attractor to this dissipative evolution system. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The existence of weak solutions is studied to the initial boundary problem of a nonlocal epitaxial thin film growing equation modeling epitaxial thin film growth. We adopt the method of parabolic regularization. After establishing some necessary uniform estimates on the approximate solutions, we prove the existence of weak solutions.  相似文献

We analyze the two‐dimensional parabolic‐elliptic Patlak‐Keller‐Segel model in the whole Euclidean space ?2. Under the hypotheses of integrable initial data with finite second moment and entropy, we first show local‐in‐time existence for any mass of “free‐energy solutions,” namely weak solutions with some free‐energy estimates. We also prove that the solution exists as long as the entropy is controlled from above. The main result of the paper is to show the global existence of free‐energy solutions with initial data as before for the critical mass 8π/χ. Actually, we prove that solutions blow up as a delta Dirac at the center of mass when t → ∞ when their second moment is kept constant at any time. Furthermore, all moments larger than 2 blowup as t → ∞ if initially bounded. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

In this work, Exp‐function method is used to solve three different seventh‐order nonlinear partial differential KdV equations. Sawada–Kotera–Ito, Lax and Kaup–Kupershmidt equations are well known and considered for solve. Exp‐function method can be used as an alternative to obtain analytic and approximate solutions of different types of differential equations applied in engineering mathematics. Ultimately this method is implemented to solve these equations and convenient and effective solutions are obtained. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This article introduces the notion of weak‐type solutions for systems of equations from the theory of inelastic deformations, assuming that the considered model is of monotone type (for the definition see [Lecture Notes in Mathematics, 1998, vol. 1682]). For the boundary data associated with the initial‐boundary value problem and satisfying the safe‐load condition the existence of global in time weak‐type solutions is proved assuming that the monotone model is rate‐independent or of gradient type. Moreover, for models possessing an additional regularity property (see Section 5) the existence of global solutions in the sense of measures, defined by Temam in Archives for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, 95 : 137, is obtained, too. The three‐dimensional motion of an incompressible inviscid fluid is classically described by the Euler equations but can also be seen, following Arnold [1], as a geodesic on a group of volume‐preserving maps. Local existence and uniqueness of minimal geodesics have been established by Ebin and Marsden [16]. In the large, for a large class of data, the existence of minimal geodesics may fail, as shown by Shnirelman [26]. For such data, we show that the limits of approximate solutions are solutions of a suitable extension of the Euler equations or, equivalently, are sharp measure‐valued solutions to the Euler equations in the sense of DiPerna and Majda [14]. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

This work investigates the existence of globally Lipschitz continuous solutions to a class of initial-boundary value problem of quasilinear wave equations. Applying the Lax's method and generalized Glimm's method, we construct the approximate solutions of initial-boundary Riemann problem near the boundary layer and perturbed Riemann problem away from the boundary layer. By showing the weak convergence of residuals for the approximate solutions, we establish the global existence for the derivatives of solutions and obtain the existence of global Lipschitz continuous solutions of the problem.  相似文献

This paper deals with an adaptation of the Poincaré‐Lindstedt method for the determination of periodic orbits in three‐dimensional nonlinear differential systems. We describe here a general symbolic algorithm to implement the method and apply it to compute periodic solutions in a three‐dimensional Lotka‐Volterra system modeling a chain food interaction. The sufficient conditions to make secular terms disappear from the approximate series solution are given in the paper.  相似文献

We consider the blowup of solutions of the initial boundary value problem for a class of non‐linear evolution equations with non‐linear damping and source terms. By using the energy compensation method, we prove that when p>max{m, α}, where m, α and p are non‐negative real numbers and m+1, α+1, p+1 are, respectively, the growth orders of the non‐linear strain terms, damping term and source term, under the appropriate conditions, any weak solution of the above‐mentioned problem blows up in finite time. Comparison of the results with the previous ones shows that there exist some clear condition boundaries similar to thresholds among the growth orders of the non‐linear terms, the states of the initial energy and the existence and non‐existence of global weak solutions. The existence of global‐in‐time classical solutions to the Cauchy problem for incompressible nonlinear isotropic elastodynamics for small initial displacements is proved. Solutions are constructed via approximation by slightly compressible materials. The energy for the approximate solutions remains uniformly bounded on a time scale that goes to infinity as the material approaches incompressibility. A necessary component to the long‐time existence of the approximating solution is a null or linear degeneracy condition, inherent in the isotropic case, which limits the quadratic interaction of the shear waves. The proof combines energy and decay estimates based on commuting vector fields and a compactness argument. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献
