Notion of metrically regular property and certain types of point-based approximations are used for solving the nonsmooth generalized equation f(x)+F(x)?0,where X and Y are Banach spaces,and U is an open subset of X,f:U→Y is a nonsmooth function and F:X■Y is a set-valued mapping with closed graph.We introduce a confined Newton-type method for solving the above nonsmooth generalized equation and analyze the semilocal and local convergence of this method.Specifically,under the point-based approximation of f on U and metrically regular property of f+F,we present quadratic rate of convergence of this method.Furthermore,superlinear rate of convergence of this method is provided under the conditions that f admits p-point-based approximation on U and f+F is metrically regular.An example of nonsmooth functions that have p-point-based approximation is given.Moreover,a numerical experiment is given which illustrates the theoretical result. 相似文献

We prove that - under certain conditions - measurable solutions $f$ of the functional equation $f(x)=h(x,y,f(g_{1}(x,y)),\ldots,f(g_{n}(x,y))),\quad(x,y)\in D \subset \mathbb{R}^{s} \times \mathbb{R}^{l}$ are continuous, even if $1\le l\le s$. As a tool we introduce new classes of functions which - roughly speaking - interpolate between continuous and Lebesgue measurable functions. In this paper we consider the nonlinear operator equation $\lambda x=Lx+G(\lambda,x)$ where $L$ is a closed linear operator of $X-›X, X$ is a real Banach Space, with a simple eigenvalue $\lambda_0\neq 0$. We discretize its Liapunov-Schmidt bifurcation equation instead of the original nonlinear operator equation and estimate the approximating order of our approximate solution to the genuine solution. Our method is more convenient and more accurate. Meanwhile we put forward several abstract Newton-type iterative schemes, which are more efficient for practical computation, and get the result of their super-linear convergence. 相似文献

For solving the generalized equation $f(x)+F(x) \ni 0$ , where $f$ is a smooth function and $F$ is a set-valued mapping acting between Banach spaces, we study the inexact Newton method described by $$\begin{aligned} \left( f(x_k)+ D f(x_k)(x_{k+1}-x_k) + F(x_{k+1})\right) \cap R_k(x_k, x_{k+1}) \ne \emptyset , \end{aligned}$$ where $Df$ is the derivative of $f$ and the sequence of mappings $R_k$ represents the inexactness. We show how regularity properties of the mappings $f+F$ and $R_k$ are able to guarantee that every sequence generated by the method is convergent either q-linearly, q-superlinearly, or q-quadratically, according to the particular assumptions. We also show there are circumstances in which at least one convergence sequence is sure to be generated. As a byproduct, we obtain convergence results about inexact Newton methods for solving equations, variational inequalities and nonlinear programming problems. 相似文献

We present a local convergence analysis for higher order methods in order
to approximate a locally unique solution of an equation in a Banach space setting. In
earlier studies, Taylor expansions and hypotheses on higher order Fréchet-derivatives
are used. We expand the applicability of these methods using only hypotheses on the
first Fréchet derivative. Moreover, we obtain a radius of convergence and computable
error bounds using Lipschitz constants not given before. Numerical examples are also

In this paper, we consider two versions of the Newton-type method for solving a nonlinear equations with nondifferentiable
terms, which uses as iteration matrices, any matrix from B-differential of semismooth terms. Local and global convergence
theorems for the generalized Newton and inexact generalized Newton method are proved. Linear convergence of the algorithms
is obtained under very mild assumptions. The superlinear convergence holds under some conditions imposed on both terms of
equation. Some numerical results indicate that both algorithms works quite well in practice.

In this paper, the robustness of the orbit structure is investigated for a partially hyperbolic endomorphism f on a compact manifold M. It is first proved that the dynamical structure of its orbit space(the inverse limit space) M~f of f is topologically quasi-stable under C~0-small perturbations in the following sense: For any covering endomorphism g C~0-close to f, there is a continuous map φ from M~g to Multiply form -∞ to ∞ M such that for any {y_i }_(i∈Z) ∈φ(M~g), y_(i+1) and f(y_i) differ only by a motion along the center direction. It is then proved that f has quasi-shadowing property in the following sense: For any pseudo-orbit {x_i }_(i∈Z),there is a sequence of points {y_i }_(i∈Z) tracing it, in which y_(i+1) is obtained from f(y_i) by a motion along the center direction. 相似文献

For any given matrix $A∈\mathbb{C}^{n×n}$, a preconditioner $t_U(A)$ called the superoptimal preconditioner was proposed in 1992 by Tyrtyshnikov. It has been shown that $t_U(A)$ is an efficient preconditioner for solving various structured systems, for instance, Toeplitz-like systems. In this paper, we construct the superoptimal preconditioners for different functions of matrices. Let $f$ be a function of matrices from$\mathbb{C}^{n×n}$ to$\mathbb{C}^{n×n}$. For any $A∈\mathbb{C}^{n×n}$, one may construct two superoptimal preconditioners for $f(A)$: $t_U(f(A))$ and $f(t_U(A))$. We establish basic properties of $t_U(f(A))$) and $f(t_U(A))$ for different functions of matrices. Some numerical tests demonstrate that the proposed preconditioners are very efficient for solving the system $f(A)x=b$. 相似文献

It is discussed in this paper that under what conditions, for a continuous domain L, there is a Scott continuous self-mapping f : L → L such that the set of fixed points fix(f) is not continuous in the ordering induced by L. For any algebraic domain L with a countable base and a smallest element, the problem presented by Huth is partially solved.
