This paper studies the Galois images of constacyclic codes over Fqm of length relatively prime to q, and determines when those images are equal and when they intersect only at the zero codeword. The subfield subcodes and trace codes of constacyclic codes are also determined.  相似文献

Cyclic codes and their various generalizations, such as quasi-twisted (QT) codes, have a special place in algebraic coding theory. Among other things, many of the best-known or optimal codes have been obtained from these classes. In this work we introduce a new generalization of QT codes that we call multi-twisted (MT) codes and study some of their basic properties. Presenting several methods of constructing codes in this class and obtaining bounds on the minimum distances, we show that there exist codes with good parameters in this class that cannot be obtained as QT or constacyclic codes. This suggests that considering this larger class in computer searches is promising for constructing codes with better parameters than currently best-known linear codes. Working with this new class of codes motivated us to consider a problem about binomials over finite fields and to discover a result that is interesting in its own right.  相似文献

We present a new approach to the theory of cyclic and constacyclic codes and generalize the theory to cover the family of additive (not necessarily linear) cyclic codes. The approach is based on the action of the Galois group (cyclotomic cosets). The conventional representation of cyclic codes as ideals in a factor ring of the polynomial ring is not needed.  相似文献

Duals of constacyclic codes over a finite local Frobenius non-chain ring of length 4, the length of which is relatively prime to the characteristic of the residue field of the ring are determined. Negacyclic codes of length 2s over the Galois ring GR(2a,m) are linearly ordered under set-theoretic inclusion,i.e.,they are the ideals <(x + 1)i>,0 ≤ i ≤ 2sa,of the chain ring GR(2a,m)[x]/.This structure is used to obtain the symbol-pair distances of all such negacyclic codes.Among others,for the special case when the alphabet is the finite field F2m (i.e.,a =1),the symbol-pair distance distribution of constacyclic codes over F2m verifies the Singleton bound for such symbol-pair codes,and provides all maximum distance separable symbol-pair constacyclic codes of length 2s over F2m.  相似文献

Galois inner product is a generalization of the Euclidean inner product and Hermitian inner product. The theory on linear codes under Galois inner product can be applied in the constructions of MDS codes and quantum error-correcting codes. In this paper, we construct Galois self-dual codes and MDS Galois self-dual codes from extensions of constacyclic codes. First, we explicitly determine all the Type II splittings leading to all the Type II duadic constacyclic codes in two cases. Second, we propose methods to extend two classes of constacyclic codes to obtain Galois self-dual codes, and we also provide existence conditions of Galois self-dual codes which are extensions of constacyclic codes. Finally, we construct some (almost) MDS Galois self-dual codes using the above results. Some Galois self-dual codes and (almost) MDS Galois self-dual codes obtained in this paper turn out to be new.  相似文献

Polycyclic codes are a powerful generalization of cyclic and constacyclic codes. Their algebraic structure is studied here by the theory of invariant subspaces from linear algebra. As an application, a bound on the minimum distance of these codes is derived which outperforms, in some cases, the natural analogue of the BCH bound.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the notion of λ-constacyclic codes over finite rings R for arbitrary element λ of R. We study the non-invertible-element constacyclic codes (NIE-constacyclic codes) over finite principal ideal rings (PIRs). We determine the algebraic structures of all NIE-constacyclic codes over finite chain rings, give the unique form of the sets of the defining polynomials and obtain their minimum Hamming distances. A general form of the duals of NIE-constacyclic codes over finite chain rings is also provided. In particular, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the dual of an NIE-constacyclic code to be an NIE-constacyclic code. Using the Chinese Remainder Theorem, we study the NIE-constacyclic codes over finite PIRs. Furthermore, we construct some optimal NIE-constacyclic codes over finite PIRs in the sense that they achieve the maximum possible minimum Hamming distances for some given lengths and cardinalities.  相似文献

Over finite local Frobenius non-chain rings with nilpotency index 3 and when the length of the codes is relatively prime to the characteristic of the residue field of the ring, the structure of the dual of γ-constacyclic codes is established and the algebraic characterization of self-dual γ-constacyclic codes, reversible γ-constacyclic codes and γ-constacyclic codes with complementary dual are given. Using ideas from the cohomology of finite groups, an isomorphism is established between a group ring and the direct sum of twisted group rings. This gives a decomposition of a group ring code into twisted group ring codes. In the abelian case the twisted group ring codes are (multi-dimensional) constacyclic codes. We use the decomposition to prove that, with respect to the Euclidean inner product, there are no self-dual group ring codes when the group is the direct product of a 2-group and a group of odd order, and the ring is a field of odd characteristic or a certain modular ring. In particular, there are no self-dual abelian codes over the rings indicated. Extensions of these results to non-Euclidean inner products are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Linear equivalence between perfect codes is defined. This definition gives the concept of general perfect 1-error correcting binary codes. These are defined as 1-error correcting perfect binary codes, with the difference that the set of errors is not the set of weight one words, instead any set with cardinality n and full rank is allowed. The side class structure defines the restrictions on the subspace of any general 1-error correcting perfect binary code. Every linear equivalence class will contain all codes with the same length, rank and dimension of kernel and all codes in the linear equivalence class will have isomorphic side class structures.  相似文献

Generalizing even-like duadic cyclic codes and Type-II duadic negacyclic codes, we introduce even-like (i.e., Type-II) and odd-like duadic constacyclic codes, and study their properties and existence. We show that even-like duadic constacyclic codes are isometrically orthogonal, and the duals of even-like duadic constacyclic codes are odd-like duadic constacyclic codes. We exhibit necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of even-like duadic constacyclic codes. In this paper we present new results on the approximate parallel construction of Huffman codes. Our algorithm achieves linear work and logarithmic time, provided that the initial set of elements is sorted. This is the first parallel algorithm for that problem with the optimal time and work. Combining our approach with the best known parallel sorting algorithms we can construct an almost optimal Huffman tree with optimal time and work. This also leads to the first parallel algorithm that constructs exact Huffman codes with maximum codeword length H in time O(H) with n/logn processors, if the elements are sorted.  相似文献

In this paper we give a construction of T-shift synchronization codes, i.e. block codes capable of correcting synchronization shifts of length at most T in either direction (left or right). We prove lower and upper bounds on the maximal cardinality of such codes. An infinite number of the constructed codes turn out to be asymptotically optimal.  相似文献
