This is a survey on the recent progress in the theory of finite groups with factorizations and around it,done by the author and his coauthors,and this has no pretensions to cover all topics in this wide area of research.In particular,we only touch the great consequences of the fundamental paper of Liebeck,Praeger and Saxl on maximal factorizations of almost simple finite groups for the theory of groups with factorizations.In each case the reader can find additional references at the end of Section 1.Some of the methods of investigation can be used to obtain information about finite groups in general,nilpotent algebras and related nearrings.  相似文献

The author carries out a detailed study of p-blocks with normal metacyclic defect groups provided that p is odd and the defect groups are splitting and nonabelian.In particular,the author constructs all the irreducible ordinary and modular characters in this type of blocks.As a by-product,k(B) and l(B) are obtained.  相似文献

Let A be a subgroup of a group G and X a nonempty subset of G. A is said to be X-semipermutable in G if A has a supplement T in G such that A is X-permutable with every subgroup of T. Let G be a finite group. Fix a prime divisor p of IGI and a Sylow p-subgroup P of G, let d be the smallest generator number of P and Ma(P) denote a family of maximal subgroups P1, P2 , Pd of P satisfying ∩^di=1 Pi = Ф(P), the Frattini subgroup of P. In this paper, we shall investigate the influence of s-conditional permutability of the members of some fixed .Md(P) on the structure of finite groups. Let G be a finite group,and H a subgroup of G.H is called s-permutably embedded in G if each Sylow subgroup of H is a Sylow subgroup of some s-permutable subgroup of G.In this paper,we use s-permutably embedding property of subgroups to characterize the p-supersolvability of finite groups,and obtain some interesting results which improve some recent results.  相似文献

In this paper,we study oriented surfaces of R3 in the context of Laguerre geometry.We construct Laguerre invariants on the non-Dupin developable surfaces,which determine the surfaces up to a Laguerre transformation.Finally,we classify the Laguerre homogeneous surfaces in R3 under the Laguerre transformation groups.  相似文献

In this paper, a theory of isomorphisms of fuzzy groups is put forward. First, a new definition of isomorphisms of fuzzy groups is proposed and compared with the corresponding ones given in other related papers. Next, some basic properties of this kind of isomorphisms are roughly examined. Then, as the main results of this paper, two basic isomorphism theorems for fuzzy groups are establised. Finally, presenting applications of these theorems, we point out that for any given t-norm T∈■_(ss)∪■_H∪■_F∪■_Y)/{Min}, every T-fuzzy group is isomorphic to a Prod-fuzzy or T_m-fuzzy group, where ■_(ss), ■_H, ■_F and ■_Y denote the Schweizer-Sklar, Hamacher, Frank and Yager families of t-norms, respectively.  相似文献

The degree pattern of a finite group has been introduced in [18].A group M is called k-fold OD- characterizable if there exist exactly k non-isomorphic finite groups having the same order and degree pattern as M .In particular,a 1-fold OD-characterizable group is simply called OD-characterizable.It is shown that the alternating groups A m and A m+1 ,for m = 27,35,51,57,65,77,87,93 and 95,are OD-characterizable,while their automorphism groups are 3-fold OD-characterizable.It is also shown that the symmetric groups S m+2 ,for m = 7,13,19,23,31,37,43,47,53,61,67,73,79,83,89 and 97,are 3-fold OD-characterizable.From this,the following theorem is derived.Let m be a natural number such that m 100.Then one of the following holds: (a) if m = 10,then the alternating groups A m are OD-characterizable,while the symmetric groups S m are OD- characterizable or 3-fold OD-characterizable;(b) the alternating group A 10 is 2-fold OD-characterizable;(c) the symmetric group S 10 is 8-fold OD-characterizable.This theorem completes the study of OD-characterizability of the alternating and symmetric groups A m and S m of degree m 100.  相似文献

Let G be a locally compact group and let F be a closed subgroup of G × G. Pier introduced the notion of F-amenability which gives a new classification of groups. This concept generalizes the concept of amenability and inner amenability for locally compact groups. In this paper, among other things, we extend some standard results for amenable groups to F-amenable groups and give various characterizations for F-amenable groups. A sequence of characterizations of F-amenable groups is given here by developing the well-known Flner's conditions for amenable locally compact groups. Several characterizations of inner amenability are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the concept of sse-embedded subgroups of finite groups and present some new characterizations of solubility of finite groups using the sse-embedding property of subgroups. On a group, constant functions and left translations by group elements map left cosets into left cosets for every subgroup. We determine classes of groups for which this property of preserving cosets characterizes constants and translations, e.g., finite non-abelian groups that are perfect, partitioned, primitive, or generated by elements of prime order p. For certain classes of groups we construct other coset-preserving functions, in particular, power endomorphisms and functions defined in terms of the subgroup lattice.  相似文献

For any integer n ≠ 0,1, a group G is said to be “n-Bell” if it satisfies the identity [x n ,y] = [x,y n ]. It is known that if G is an n-Bell group, then the factor group G/Z 2(G) has finite exponent dividing 12n 5(n ? 1)5. In this article we show that this bound can be improved. Moreover, we prove that every n-Bell group is n-nilpotent; consequently, using results of Baer on finite n-nilpotent groups, we give the structure of locally finite n-Bell groups. Finally, we are concerned with locally graded n-Bell groups for special values of n.  相似文献
