We give some p-adic integral representations for the two-variable p-adic L-functions introduced recently by G. Fox. For powers of the Teichmüller character, we use the integral representation to extend the L-function to a larger domain, in which it is a meromorphic function in the first variable and an analytic element in the second. These integral representations imply systems of congruences for the generalized Bernoulli polynomials, improving previous results of Fox, Gunaratne, and the author; they also lead to generalizations of some formulas of Diamond and of Ferrero and Greenberg for p-adic L-functions in terms of the p-adic gamma and log gamma functions.  相似文献

Parahoric restriction is the parahoric analogue of Jacquet’s functor. The group GSp(4, F) of symplectic similitudes of genus two over a local number field F/? p has five conjugacy classes of parahoric subgroups. For each we determine the parahoric restriction of the non-cuspidal irreducible smooth representations of GSp(4, F) in terms of explicit character values.  相似文献

Let F0 be a non-archimedean local field, of residual characteristic different from 2, and let G be a unitary, symplectic or orthogonal group defined over F0. In this paper, we prove some fundamental results towards the classification of the representations of G via types [8]. In particular, we show that any positive level supercuspidal representation of G contains a semisimple skew stratum, that is, a special character of a certain compact open subgroup of G. The intertwining of such a stratum has been calculated in [19].  相似文献

Let F be a totally real field, G a connected reductive group over F, and S a finite set of finite places of F. Assume that G(F ?? ?) has a discrete series representation. Building upon work of Sauvageot, Serre, Conrey-Duke-Farmer and others, we prove that the S-components of cuspidal automorphic representations of $G\left( {\mathbb{A}_F } \right)$ are equidistributed with respect to the Plancherel measure on the unitary dual of G(F S ) in an appropriate sense. A few applications are given, such as the limit multiplicity formula for local representations in the global cuspidal spectrum and a quite flexible existence theorem for cuspidal automorphic representations with prescribed local properties. When F is not a totally real field or G(F ?? ?) has no discrete series, we present a weaker version of the above results.  相似文献

Let G be a unitary group over ℚ, associated to a CM-field F with totally real part F +, with signature (1, 1) at all the archimedean places of F +. Under certain hypotheses on F +, we show that Jacquet-Langlands correspondences between certain automorphic representations of G and representations of a group G′ isomorphic to G except at infinity can be realized in the cohomology of Shimura varieties attached to G and G′.  相似文献

Following D. Manderscheid, we describe the supercuspidal representations of the n-fold metaplectic cover [`(SL2(F))]\overline {SL_2(F)}, where F is a p-adic field with (p, 2n) = 1. We prove a "Frobenius formula" for the character of a supercuspidal representation of [`(SL2(F))]\overline {SL_2(F)}. Using this formula, we obtain a character relation between corresponding supercuspidal representations of [`(SL2(F))]\overline {SL_2(F)} and of SL2(F)> in the case n = 2.  相似文献

Let F be a non-Archimedean local field and D a central F-division algebra of dimension n2, n?1. We consider first the irreducible smooth representations of D× trivial on 1-units, and second the indecomposable, n-dimensional, semisimple, Weil-Deligne representations of F which are trivial on wild inertia. The sets of equivalence classes of these two sorts of representations are in canonical (functorial) bijection via the composition of the Jacquet-Langlands correspondence and the Langlands correspondence. They are also in canonical bijection via explicit parametrizations in terms of tame admissible pairs. This paper gives the relation between these two bijections. It is based on analysis of the discrete series of the general linear group GLn(F) in terms of a classification by extended simple types.  相似文献

Let F be a p-adic field. If n is a natural number relatively prime to p, then all the irreducible n-dimensional Galois representations are parametrized by admissible characters. This parametrization is used to determine which of these characters are real-valued, and among the real-valued representations to distinguish the orthogonal representations from the symplectic representations.  相似文献

Let π and π′ be unitary automorphic cuspidal representations of GL_n(A_E) and GL_m(A_F), and let E and F be solvable Galois extensions of Q of degrees ? and ?′, respectively. Using the fact that the automorphic induction and base change maps exist for E and F, and assuming an invariance condition under the actions of the Galois groups, we attach to the pair(π, π′) a Rankin-Selberg L-function L(s, π×E,Fπ′) for which we prove a prime number theorem. This gives a method for comparing two representations that could be defined over completely different extensions, and the main results give a measure of how many cuspidal components the two representations π and π′ have in common when automorphically induced down to the rational numbers. The proof uses the structure of the Galois group of the composite extension EF and the character groups attached to the fields via class field theory. The second main theorem also gives an indication of when the base change of π up to the composite extension EF remains cuspidal.  相似文献

Let V be an indefinite quadratic space over a number field F and U be a nondegenerate subspace of V. Suppose that M is a lattice on V, and that N is a lattice on U which is represented by M locally everywhere. The main result of this paper is a necessary and sufficient condition for which there exists a representation of N by M that approximates a given family of local representations. This is applied to determine when the variety of representations of U by V has strong approximation with respect to a finite set of primes of F that contains all the archimedean primes.  相似文献

Let K/F be a quadratic extension of p-adic fields. We show that a generic irreducible representation of GL(n, K) is distinguished if and only if its Rankin-Selberg Asai L-function has an exceptional pole at zero. We use this result to compute Asai L-functions of principal series representations of GL(2, K), hence completing the computation of these functions for generic representations of this group.  相似文献

Let C be a smooth curve in P2 given by an equation F=0 of degree d. In this paper we consider elementary transformations of linear pfaffian representations of C. Elementary transformations can be interpreted as actions on a rank 2 vector bundle on C with canonical determinant and no sections, which corresponds to the cokernel of a pfaffian representation. Every two pfaffian representations of C can be bridged by a finite sequence of elementary transformations. Pfaffian representations and elementary transformations are constructed explicitly. For a smooth quartic, applications to Aronhold bundles and theta characteristics are given.  相似文献

In this paper a general theory of operator-valued Bessel functions is presented. These functions arise naturally in representation theory in the context of metaplectic representations, discrete series, and limits of discrete series for certain semi-simple Lie groups. In general, Bessel functions Jλ are associated to the action by automorphisms of a compact group U on a locally compact abelian group X, and are indexed by the irreducible representations λ of U that appear in the primary decomposition of the regular representation of U on L2(X). Then on the λ-primary constituent of L2(X), the Fourier transform is described by the Hankel transform corresponding to Jλ. More detailed information is available in the case in which (U, X) is an orthogonal transformation group which possesses a system of polar coordinates. In particular, when X=Fk×n,F a real finite-dimensional division algebra, with k ? 2n and O(k, F), the representations λ of U are induced in a certain sense from representations π of GL(n, F). This leads to a characterization of Jλ as a reduced Bessel function defined on the component of 1 in GL(n, F) and to the connection between metaplectic representations and holomorphic discrete series for the group of biholomorphic automorphisms of the Siegel upper half-plane in the complexification of Fn × n.  相似文献

Let G be the unramified unitary group in three variables defined over a p-adic field F with p ≠ 2. In this paper, we investigate local newforms for irreducible admissible representations of G. We introduce a family of open compact subgroups {K n } n≥0 of G to define the local newforms for representations of G as the K n -fixed vectors. We prove the existence of local newforms for generic representations and the multiplicity one property of the local newforms for admissible representations.  相似文献
