Let G be a finite group and let p be a fixed prime number. Let B be a p-block of G with defect group D. In this paper, we give results on 3-blocks with abelian defect groups isomorphic to Z3m ×Z3n. We are particularly interested in the number of irreducible ordinary characters and the number of irreducible Brauer characters in the block. We calculate two important block invariants k(B) and l(B) in this case.  相似文献

Let G be a graph and let its maximum degree and maximum average degree be denoted byΔ(G) and mad(G), respectively. A neighbor sum distinguishing k-edge colorings of graph G is a proper k-edge coloring of graph G such that, for any edge uv ∈ E(G), the sum of colors assigned on incident edges of u is different from the sum of colors assigned on incident edges of v. The smallest value of k in such a coloring of G is denoted by χ'∑≠(G). Flandrin et al. proposed the following conjecture thatχ'∑(G) ≤Δ(G) + 2 for any connected graph with at least 3 vertices and G≠C_5. In this paper, we prove that the conjecture holds for a normal graph with mad(G) 37/12 and Δ(G) ≥ 7.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group and K a field of characteristic zero.It is well-known that if K is a splitting field for G,then G is abelian if and only if any irreducible representation of G has degree 1.In this paper,we generalize this result to the case that K is an arbitrary field of characteristic zero(that is,K need not be a splitting field for G),and we also obtain the orthogonality relations of irreducible K-characters of G in this case.Our results generalize some well-known theorems.  相似文献

A partial order on the set of the prime knots can be defined by the existence of a surjective homomorphism between knot groups. In the previous paper, we determined the partial order in the knot table. In this paper, we prove that 31 and 41 are minimal elements. Further, we study which surjection a pair of a periodic knot and its quotient knot induces, and which surjection a degree one map can induce.  相似文献

Let G be a graph. The Hosoya index Z(G) of a graph G is defined to be the total number of its matchings. In this paper, we characterize the graph with the smallest Hosoya index of bicyclic graphs with given pendent vertices. Let З be a complete set of Sylow subgroups of a finite group G, that is, З contains exactly one and only one Sylow p-subgroup of G for each prime p. A subgroup of a finite group G is said to be З-permutable if it permutes with every member of З. Recently, using the Classification of Finite Simple Groups, Heliel, Li and Li proved tile following result: If the cyclic subgroups of prime order or order 4 iif p = 2) of every member of З are З-permutable subgroups in G, then G is supersolvable. In this paper, we give an elementary proof of this theorem and generalize it in terms of formation.  相似文献

The degree(vertex) graph Γ(G) attached to G is a character degree graph.Its vertices are the degrees of the nonlinear irreducible complex characters of G, and different vertices m, n are adjacent if the greatest common divisor(m, n) 1. In this paper, we consider a singular nth order three-point boundary value problem with sign changing nonlinearity. By the method of lower solution and topology degree theorem, we investigate the existence of positive solutions to the above problem. In this paper, we are concerned with the existence of a second-order differential equation with m-point boundary conditions on the half line. The existence results are proved by the Leray-Scha¨uder point theorem in a special Banach space. Green function plays an important role in the proof and its discussion is very interesting. Let G be a finite simple graph with adjacency matrix A, and let P(A) be the convex closure of the set of all permutation matrices commuting with A. G is said to be compact if every doubly stochastic matrix which commutes with A is in P(A). In this paper, we characterize 3-regular compact graphs and prove that if G is a connected regular compact graph, G - v is also compact, and give a family of almost regular compact connected graphs.  相似文献

Let G be a graph of order n with minimum degree δ(G)≥n/2+1. Faudree and Li(2012) conjectured that for any pair of vertices x and y in G and any integer 2≤k≤n/2, there exists a Hamiltonian cycle C such that the distance between x and y on C is k. In this paper, we prove that this conjecture is true for graphs of sufficiently large order. The main tools of our proof are the regularity lemma of Szemer′edi and the blow-up lemma of Koml′os et al.(1997).  相似文献
