In this article we study the Gevrey regularization effect for the spatially inhomogeneous Boltzmann equation without angular cut-off.This equation is partially elliptic in the velocity direction and degenerates in the spatial variable.We consider the nonlinear Cauchy problem for the fluctuation around the Maxwellian distribution and prove that any solution with mild regularity will become smooth in the Gevrey class at positive time with the Gevrey index depending on the angular singularity.Our proof relies on the symbolic calculus for the collision operator and the global subelliptic estimate for the Cauchy problem of the linearized Boltzmann operator. 相似文献

In this paper, we prove the persistence of hyperbolic lower dimensional invariant tori for Gevrey-smooth perturbations of partially integrable Hamiltonian systems under Riissmann's nondegeneracy condition by an improved KAM iteration, and the persisting invariant tori are Gevrey smooth, with the same Gevrey index as the Hamiltonian. 相似文献

In §8.3 of our paper ``Duality and Flat Base Change on Formal Schemes" some important results concerning localization and preservation of coherence by basic duality functors were based on the false statement that any closed formal subscheme of an open subscheme of the completion of a relative projective space is an open subscheme of a closed formal subscheme of . In this note, the said results are provided with solid foundations.

Given a formal map of the form terms, we give tree expansion formulas and associated algorithms for the D-Log of and the formal flow . The coefficients that appear in these formulas can be viewed as certain generalizations of the Bernoulli numbers and the Bernoulli polynomials. Moreover, the coefficient polynomials in the formal flow formula coincide with the strict order polynomials in combinatorics for the partially ordered sets induced by trees. Applications of these formulas to the Jacobian Conjecture are discussed.

The formal power series[formula]is transcendental over (X) whentis an integer ≥ 2. This is due to Stanley forteven, and independently to Flajolet and to Woodcock and Sharif for the general case. While Stanley and Flajolet used analytic methods and studied the asymptotics of the coefficients of this series, Woodcock and Sharif gave a purely algebraic proof. Their basic idea is to reduce this series modulo prime numbersp, and to use thep-Lucas property: ifn = ∑nipiis the basepexpansion of the integern, then[equation]The series reduced modulopis then proved algebraic over p(X), the field of rational functions over the Galois field p, but its degree is not a bounded function ofp.
