In this paper, we introduce a new extension of the power Lindley distribution, called the exponentiated generalized power Lindley distribution. Several mathematical properties of the new model such as the shapes of the density and hazard rate functions, the quantile function, moments, mean deviations, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves and order statistics are derived.Moreover, we discuss the parameter estimation of the new distribution using the maximum likelihood and diagonally weighted least squares methods. A simulation study is performed to evaluate the estimators. We use two real data sets to illustrate the applicability of the new model. Empirical findings show that the proposed model provides better fits than some other well-known extensions of Lindley distributions.  相似文献

In this paper a new probability density function with bounded domain is presented. The new distribution arises from the generalized Lindley distribution proposed by Zakerzadeh and Dolati (2010). This new distribution that depends on two parameters can be considered as an alternative to the classical beta distribution. It presents the advantage of not including any special function in its formulation. After studying its most important properties, some useful results regarding insurance and inventory management applications are obtained. In particular, in insurance, we suggest a special class of distorted premium principles based on this distribution and we compare it with the well-known power dual premium principle. Since the mean of the new distribution can be normalized to give a simple parameter, this new model is appropriate to be used as a regression model when the response is bounded, being therefore an alternative to the beta regression model recently proposed in the statistical literature.  相似文献

The maximum angle condition of J. L. Synge was originally introduced in interpolation theory and further used in finite element analysis and applications for triangular and later also for tetrahedral finite element meshes. In this paper we present some of its generalizations to higher-dimensional simplicial elements. This article deals with the progressively first failure censored Lindley distribution. Maximum likelihood and Bayes estimators of the parameter and reliability characteristics of Lindley distribution based on progressively first failure censored samples are derived. Asymptotic confidence intervals based on observed Fisher information and bootstrap confidence intervals of the parameter are constructed. Bayes estimators using non-informative and gamma informative priors are derived using importance sampling procedure and Metropolis–Hastings (MH) algorithm under squared error loss function. Also, HPD credible intervals based on importance sampling procedure and MH algorithm for the parameter are constructed. To study the performance of various estimators discussed in this article, a Monte Carlo simulation study is conducted. Finally, a real data set is studied for illustration purposes.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce some quadrature rules for the Henstock integral of fuzzy-number-valued mappings by giving error bounds for mappings of bounded variation and of Lipschitz type. This study analyses the implications of JefferyLindley’s paradox and Global Financial Crisis (GFC) for the operational aspect of macroeconomic policy coordination for financial stability. Using a Bayesian Vector Auto-regressive model and data from Jan 1985 to June 2016, our key findings suggest that the claim of macroeconomic policy interaction, interdependence and significance of coordinated policy operations for the financial stability holds its ground. The argument in the support for policy coordination for financial stability was found to be robust against the Jeffreys–Lindley’s paradox and in the Post-GFC era. A profound practical, operational and philosophical implication of this study is the positive aspects of Jeffreys–Lindley’s paradox and the possibility of employing the Frequentist and Bayesian estimation techniques as complementing rather competing frameworks.

Nonlinear generalizations of integrable equations in one dimension, such as the Korteweg–de Vries and Boussinesq equations with p-power nonlinearities, arise in many physical applications and are interesting from the analytic standpoint because of their critical behavior. We study analogous nonlinear p-power generalizations of the integrable Kadomtsev–Petviashvili and Boussinesq equations in two dimensions. For all p ≠ 0, we present a Hamiltonian formulation of these two generalized equations. We derive all Lie symmetries including those that exist for special powers p ≠ 0. We use Noether’s theorem to obtain conservation laws arising from the variational Lie symmetries.
