Perturbations by analytic discs along generating CR-submanifolds of Cn are considered. In the case all partial indices of a closed pathp in a generating CR-fibration {M(ξ)}ξ∈∂D are greater or equal to −1 we can completely parametrize all small holomorphic perturbations of the pathp along the fibration {M(ξ)}ξ∈∂D . In this case we also study the geometry of perturbations by analytic discs and their relation to the conormal bundle of the fibration.  相似文献

For a complete Riemannian manifold M with compact boundary ∂M denote by $\Cut$ the cut locus of $\f M$ in M. The rolling radius of M is roll(M)≔ dist(∂M, ? M ). Let Focal(∂M) be the focal distance of ∂M in M. Then conditions are given that imply the equality roll(M)= Focal(∂M). This generalizes Blaschke's rolling theorem from bounded convex domains in Euclidean space to more general Euclidean domains and to Riemannian manifolds with boundary. An extension of a classical theorem of Rellich to the exterior of a closed proper convex cone is proved: Let Γ be a closed convex proper cone inR n and −Γ′ be the antipodes of the dual cone of Γ. Let be a partial differential operator with constant coefficients inR n, whereQ(ζ)≠0 onR niΓ′ andP i is an irreducible polynomial with real coefficients. Assume that the closure of each connected component of the set {ζ∈R niΓ′;P j(ζ)=0, gradP j(ζ)≠0} contains some real point on which gradP j≠0 and gradP j∉Γ∪(−Γ). LetC be an open cone inR n−Γ containing both normal directions at some such point, and intersecting each normal plane of every manifold contained in {ξ∈R n;P(ξ)=0}. Ifu∈ℒ′∩L loc 2 (R n−Γ) and the support ofP(−i∂/∂x)u is contained in Γ, then the condition implies that the support ofu is contained in Γ.  相似文献

In this short note we consider an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold (M, g) of constant scalar curvature S = n(n − 1)c and show that the presence of a nontrivial conformal vector field ξ on M forces S to be positive. Then we show that an appropriate control on the energy of ξ makes M to be isometric to the n-sphere S n (c).  相似文献

We study the natural almost CR structure on the total space of a subbundle of hyperquadrics of the tangent bundle T(M) over a semi-Riemannian manifold (M, g) and show that if the Reeb vector ξ of an almost contact Riemannian manifold is a CR map then the natural almost CR structure on M is strictly pseudoconvex and a posteriori ξ is pseudohermitian. If in addition ξ is geodesic then it is a harmonic vector field. As an other application, we study pseudoharmonic vector fields on a compact strictly pseudoconvex CR manifold M, i.e. unit (with respect to the Webster metric associated with a fixed contact form on M) vector fields X ε H(M) whose horizontal lift X↑ to the canonical circle bundle S1 → C(M) → M is a critical point of the Dirichlet energy functional associated to the Fefferman metric (a Lorentz metric on C(M)). LeM be a (2m+2)-dimensional Riemannian manifold with two structure vector fieldsξ r (r=2m+1, 2m+2) and letη r =ξ r b be their corresponding covectors (or Pfaffians). These vector fields define onM a 2-almost contact structure. If the 2-formϕ=η 2m+1η 2m+2 is harmonic, then, following S. Tachibana [12],M is a Tachibana manifold and in this caseM is covered with 2 families of minimal submanifolds tangent toD ={ξ r} and its complementary orthogonal distributionD . On such a manifold a canonical eigenfunction α of the Laplacian is associated. Since the corresponding eingenvalue is negative,M cannot be compact. Any horizontal vector fieldX orthogonal to α# is a skew-symmetric Killing vector field (see [6]). Next, we assume that the Tachibana manifoldM under consideration is endowed with a framedf-structure defined by an endomorphism ϕ of the tangent bundleTM. We study the asymptotic behavior of a set of random vectors ξi, i = 1,..., m, whose coordinates are independent and identically distributed in a space of infinitely increasing dimension. We investigate the asymptotics of the distribution of the random vectors, the consistency of the sets M m(n) = ξ1,..., ξm and X nλ = x ∈ X n: ρ(x) ≤ λn, and the mutual location of pairs of vectors. Given an open bounded connected subset Ω of ℝn, we consider the overdetermined boundary value problem obtained by adding both zero Dirichlet and constant Neumann boundary data to the elliptic equation −div(A(|∇u|)∇u)=1 in Ω. We prove that, if this problem admits a solution in a suitable weak sense, then Ω is a ball. This is obtained under fairly general assumptions on Ω and A. In particular, A may be degenerate and no growth condition is required. Our method of proof is quite simple. It relies on a maximum principle for a suitable P-function, combined with some geometric arguments involving the mean curvature of ∂Ω.  相似文献

In this article, we prove that when the spectrum of the weighted Laplacian \trianglem{\triangle_{\mu}} has a positive lower bound λ1(M) > 0 and the m(m > n)-dimensional Bakry-émery curvature is bounded from below by -\fracm-1m-2l1(M){-\frac{m-1}{m-2}\lambda_1(M)}, then M splits isometrically as R × N whenever it has two ends with infinite weighted volume, here N is an (n − 1)-dimensional compact manifold.  相似文献

Let (M n ,g) be a compact Riemannian manifold with Ric ≥−(n−1). It is well known that the bottom of spectrum λ 0 of its universal covering satisfies λ 0≤(n−1)2/4. We consider a (2m + 3)-dimensional Riemannian manifold Mr, ηr, g ) endowed with a vertical skew symmetric almost contact 3-structure. Such manifold is foliated by 3-dimensional submanifolds of constant curvature tangent to the vertical distribution and the square of the length of the vertical structure vector field is an isoparametric function. If, in addition, Mr, ηr, g ) is endowed with an f -structure φ, M, turns out to be a framed fCR-manifold. The fundamental 2-form Ω associated with φ is a presymplectic form. Locally, M is the Riemannian product of two totally geodesic submanifolds, where is a 2m-dimensional Kaehlerian submanifold and is a 3-dimensional submanifold of constant curvature. Summary The paper treats elliptic operators of the form L(ɛ∂1, ..., ɛ∂n), where L is a polynomial in a variables of order 2m1, and ɛ is a small parameter. Solutionsu ɛ of Lu=0 in a half space satisfyng conditions Bj(ɛ∂1, ɛ∂2, ..., ɛ∂n)u=ɛγjϕj(x)(j=1, ..., m1) on the boundary are constructed and estimated using H?lder norms, Poisson kernels, and an elaborate potential theory.
