Sunto In questo lavoro si considera il problema di Cauchy per l'equazione di filtrazione ∂u/∂t=∂ 2 ϕ(u)/∂x 2 nella regioneR×(0,T],0<T<∞. Sotto opportune ipotesi sulla funzione ϕ(u) si determina una stima dell'incremento temporale della soluzione u(x, t) (intesa nel senso debole). Nel caso politropico (ϕ(u)=um), quando m>2 si trova in particolare un comportamento h?lderiano di u(x, t) rispetto a t con l'esponente1/(m−1); viene anche dimostrato che questo esponete è effettivamente assunto da una particolare soluzione, per cui la stima ottenuta è la migliore possibile.

We study the natural almost CR structure on the total space of a subbundle of hyperquadrics of the tangent bundle T(M) over a semi-Riemannian manifold (M, g) and show that if the Reeb vector ξ of an almost contact Riemannian manifold is a CR map then the natural almost CR structure on M is strictly pseudoconvex and a posteriori ξ is pseudohermitian. If in addition ξ is geodesic then it is a harmonic vector field. As an other application, we study pseudoharmonic vector fields on a compact strictly pseudoconvex CR manifold M, i.e. unit (with respect to the Webster metric associated with a fixed contact form on M) vector fields X ε H(M) whose horizontal lift X↑ to the canonical circle bundle S1 → C(M) → M is a critical point of the Dirichlet energy functional associated to the Fefferman metric (a Lorentz metric on C(M)). The Blow-up Locus of Heat Flows for Harmonic Maps   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
Abstract Let M and N be two compact Riemannian manifolds. Let u k (x, t) be a sequence of strong stationary weak heat flows from M×R + to N with bounded energies. Assume that u ku weakly in H 1, 2(M×R +, N) and that Σt is the blow-up set for a fixed t > 0. In this paper we first prove Σt is an H m−2-rectifiable set for almost all tR +. And then we prove two blow-up formulas for the blow-up set and the limiting map. From the formulas, we can see that if the limiting map u is also a strong stationary weak heat flow, Σt is a distance solution of the (m− 2)-dimensional mean curvature flow [1]. If a smooth heat flow blows-up at a finite time, we derive a tangent map or a weakly quasi-harmonic sphere and a blow-up set ∪t<0Σt× {t}. We prove the blow-up map is stationary if and only if the blow-up locus is a Brakke motion. This work is supported by NSF grant  相似文献

With respect to that metric, the volume of a rectifiable section σ: MB is the mass of the image σ(M) as a rectifiable n-current in B. Theorem 1. We investigate a problem of approximation of a large class of nonlinear expressionsf(x, u, ∇u), including polyconvex functions. Hereu: Ω→R m , Ω⊂R n , is a mapping from the Sobolev spaceW 1,p . In particular, whenp=n, we obtain the approximation by mappings which are continuous, differentiable a.e. and, if in additionn=m, satisfy the Luzin condition. From the point of view of applications such mappings are almost as good as Lipschitz mappings. As far as we know, for the nonlinear problems that we consider, no natural approximation results were known so far. The results about the approximation off(x, u, ∇u) are consequences of the main result of the paper, Theorem 1.3, on a very strong approximation of Sobolev functions by locally weakly monotone functions. Circularm-functions are introduced on smooth manifolds with boundary. We study the distribution of their critical circles and construct an example of a four-dimensional manifoldM 4 with boundary ∂M 4 that satisfies the condition ξ(∂M 4)=ξ(M 4,∂M 4)=0 but does not contain any circularm-function. We prove that a manifold with boundaryM n (n≥5) such that ξ(∂M n , ∂M n )=0 always contains a circularm-function without critical points in the interior manifold. We consider a variational problem with an integrandF:R n ×R×R n R that isZ-periodic in the firstn+1 variables and satisfies certain growth-conditions. By a recent result of Moser, there exist for every α∈R n minimal solutionsu:R n R minimising ƒF(x, u(x), u x (x)) dx with respect to compactly supported variations ofu and such that sup |u(x)-αx|<∞. Given such a minimal solutionu we define the average action (whereB r is ther-ball around 0∈R n ) and show thatM(α) is indeed independent of the minimal solutionu satisfying sup |u(x)-αx|<∞. We describe the additive preservers of idempotence from JJ to Mm(R) when 2 is a unit of R. The Evens-Lu-Weinstein representation (Q A , D) for a Lie algebroid A on a manifold M is studied in the transitive case. To consider at the same time non-oriented manifolds as well, this representation is slightly modified to (Q A or , Dor) by tensoring by orientation flat line bundle, Q A or =QAor (M) and D or=D⊗∂ A or . It is shown that the induced cohomology pairing is nondegenerate and that the representation (Q A or , Dor) is the unique (up to isomorphy) line representation for which the top group of compactly supported cohomology is nontrivial. In the case of trivial Lie algebroid A=TM the theorem reduce to the following: the orientation flat bundle (or (M), ∂ A or ) is the unique (up to isomorphy) flat line bundle (ξ, ∇) for which the twisted de Rham complex of compactly supported differential forms on M with values in ξ possesses the nontrivial cohomology group in the top dimension. Finally it is obtained the characterization of transitive Lie algebroids for which the Lie algebroid cohomology with trivial coefficients (or with coefficients in the orientation flat line bundle) gives Poincaré duality. In proofs of these theorems for Lie algebroids it is used the Hochschild-Serre spectral sequence and it is shown the general fact concerning pairings between graded filtered differential ℝ-vector spaces: assuming that the second terms live in the finite rectangular, nondegeneration of the pairing for the second terms (which can be infinite dimensional) implies the same for cohomology spaces.  相似文献

This paper deals with the strongly coupled parabolic system ut = v^m△u, vt = u^n△v, (x, t) ∈Ω × (0,T) subject to nonlinear boundary conditions 偏du/偏dη = u^αv^p, 偏du/偏dη= u^qv^β, (x, t) ∈ 偏dΩ × (0, T), where Ω 包含 RN is a bounded domain, m, n are positive constants and α,β, p, q are nonnegative constants. Global existence and nonexistence of the positive solution of the above problem are studied and a new criterion is established. It is proved that the positive solution of the above problem exists globally if and only if α 〈 1,β 〈 1 and (m +p)(n + q) ≤ (1 - α)(1 -β).  相似文献

Perturbations by analytic discs along generating CR-submanifolds of Cn are considered. In the case all partial indices of a closed pathp in a generating CR-fibration {M(ξ)}ξ∈∂D are greater or equal to −1 we can completely parametrize all small holomorphic perturbations of the pathp along the fibration {M(ξ)}ξ∈∂D . The paper deals with the so-called M-transform, which maps divergence-free vector fields in Ω T := {x ∈ Ω| dist(x, ∂Ω) < T}, Ω ⊂⊂ \mathbbR \mathbb{R} 3, to the space of transversal fields. The latter space consists of vector fields in Ω T tangential to the equidistant surfaces of the boundary ∂Ω. In papers devoted to the dynamical inverse problem for the Maxwell system, in the framework of the BC-method, the operator M T was defined for T < T ω, where T ω depends on the geometry of Ω. This paper provides a generalization for arbitrary T. It is proved that M T is partially isometric, and its intertwining properties are established. Bibliography: 6 titles.  相似文献

Under certain assumptions on a, there exists a G-limit b, which we characterize by means of multiscale techniques for r > 0, r ≠ 1. Let R be a ring and β×α(R) (? β×α(R)) the set of all β × α full (row finite) matrices over R where α and β ≥ 1 are two cardinal numbers. A left R-module M is said to be “injective relative” to a matrix A ? ? β×α(R) if every R-homomorphism from R (β) A to M extends to one from R (α) to M. It is proved that M is injective relative to A if and only if it is A-pure in every module which contains M as a submodule. A right R-module N is called flat relative to a matrix A ?  β×α(R) if the canonical map μ: N? R (β) A → N α is a monomorphism. This extends the notion of (m, n)-flat modules so that n-projectivity, finitely projectivity, and τ-flatness can be redefined in terms of flatness relative to certain matrices. R is called left coherent relative to a matrix A ?  β×α(R) if R (β) A is a left R-ML module. Some results on τ-coherent rings and (m, n)-coherent rings are extended.  相似文献

Let M be the closed, simply connected, 4-manifold with nonnegative sectional curvature, called a nonnegatively curved 4-manifold, with an effective and isometric Z m -action for a positive integer m ≧ 617. Assume that Z m acts trivially on the homology of M. The goal of this short paper is to prove that if the fixed point set of any nontrivial element of Z m has at most one two-dimensional component, then M is homeomorphic to S 4, # i l =1S 2 × S 2, l = 1, 2, or # j k = 1 ± CP 2, k = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The main strategy of this paper is to give an upper bound of the Euler characteristic χ(M) under the homological assumption of a Z m -action as above by using the Lefschetz fixed point formula.  相似文献
