A model of the thermal-diffusion convection of a binary mixture when there is a non-linear dependence of the buoyancy force on the temperature and concentration is considered. An invariant solution, which describes the steady flow of the mixture in a plane vertical layer, is constructed and investigated. The effect of non-linearity of the buoyancy force on the type of flow is examined.  相似文献

Fully developed laminar flow in a straight heated rotating pipe which includes the influence of both, coriolis force and buoyancy force, has been considered analytically. The numerical modelling of surface water waves generated by a moving underwater landslide on irregular bottom is considered. The non-linear shallow water model is used with taking into account bottom mobility. The equations are obtained for an underwater landslide movement under the action of gravity force, buoyancy force, friction force and water resistance force. The predictor-corrector scheme [5], preserving the monotonicity of the numerical solution profiles in a linear case, is used on adaptive grids. The scheme is validated on the problem with a known analytical solution. The analysis is done for the dependencies of wave regimes on bottom slope, initial landslide depth, its length and width. The similarity solution for the unsteady laminar incompressible boundary layer flow of a viscous electrically conducting fluid in stagnation point region of an impulsively rotating and translating sphere with a magnetic field and a buoyancy force gives a system of non-linear partial differential equations. These non-linear differential equations are analytically solved by applying a newly developed method, namely the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The analytic solutions of the system of non-linear differential equations are constructed in the series form. The convergence of the obtained series solutions is carefully analyzed. Graphical results are presented to investigate the influence of the magnetic parameter, buoyancy parameter and rotation parameter on the surface shear stresses and surface heat transfer. It is noted that the behavior of the HAM solution for the surface shear stresses and surface heat transfer is in good agreement with the numerical solution given in reference [H. S. Takhar, A. J. Chamkha, G. Nath, Unsteady laminar MHD flow and heat transfer in the stagnation region of an impulsively spinning and translating sphere in the presence of buoyancy forces, Heat Mass Transfer 37 (2001) 397].  相似文献

The steady laminar boundary layer flow along a vertical stationary heated plate is studied taking into account the viscous dissipation of the fluid. The results are obtained with the numerical solution of the boundary layer equations. Both upward and downward flow is considered for the isothermal and uniform flux case. It is found that the interaction between the viscous heating and the buoyancy force has a strong influence on the results.  相似文献

The problem of the mixed convection boundary-layer flow past an isothermal vertical circular cylinder is considered in both the cases when the buoyancy forces aid and oppose the development of the boundary layer. A series solution is obtained, valid near the leading edge, and this is extended by a numerical solution of the full equations, which in the aiding case, becomes inaccurate downstream. An approximate solution is also derived which gives a good estimate for the heat transfer near the leading edge and has the correct asymptotic form well downstream. In the opposing case, the boundary layer is seen to separate at a finite distance downstream, with, for moderate values of the buoyancy parameter, the numerical solution indicating a regular behaviour near separation.  相似文献

The free motion of a thin cylindrical body is investigated based on a previously derived expression for the radiation force acting on moving point sources in a stratified fluid. The fundamental equations of motion are derived, the limits of applicability of the approximation used are indicated and the results of calculations of typical trajectories of a body which begins to move with a specified velocity from a position of neutral buoyancy at an angle to the horizon are presented. Calculations of the trajectory of motion of a thin cylindrical body in a stratified fluid when the total radiation force is taken into account show that the effect of the lateral component of this force is considerable and leads not only to quantitative corrections but also to qualitative effects (for example, to an increase in the oscillations of the body and a change in its direction of motion). The results obtained pertain both to the motion of solids in fluids and to the translational motion of vortex dipoles in weakly stratified media.  相似文献

The steady flow in a parallel plate channel rotating with an angular velocity Ω and bounded below by a permeable bed is analysed under the effect of buoyancy force. On the porous bed the boundary condition of Beavers and Joseph is applied and an exact solution of the governing equations is found. The solution in dimensionless form contains four parameters: The permeability parameterσ 2, the Grashof numberG, the rotation parameterK 2 and a dimensionless constantα. The effects of these parameters, specially,σ 2, G andK 2, on the slip velocities and velocity distributions are studied. For largeK 2, there arise thin boundary layers on the walls of the channel.  相似文献

We consider the Oberbeck-Boussinesq problem with an extra coupling, establishing a suitable relation between the velocity and the temperature. Our model involves a system of equations given by the transient Navier-Stokes equations modified by introducing the thermo-absorption term. The model involves also the transient temperature equation with nonlinear diffusion. For the obtained problem, we prove the existence of weak solutions for any N?2 and its uniqueness if N=2. Then, considering a low range of temperature, but upper than the phase changing one, we study several properties related with vanishing in time of the velocity component of the weak solutions. First, assuming the buoyancy forces field extinct after a finite time, we prove the velocity component will extinct in a later finite time, provided the thermo-absorption term is sublinear. In this case, considering a suitable buoyancy forces field which vanishes at some instant of time, we prove the velocity component extinct at the same instant. We prove also that for non-zero buoyancy forces, but decaying at a power time rate, the velocity component decay at analogous power time rates, provided the thermo-absorption term is superlinear. At last, we prove that for a general non-zero bounded buoyancy force, the velocity component exponentially decay in time whether the thermo-absorption term is sub or superlinear.  相似文献

In this article, based on the T-weakly continuous theory, we prove the existence of global weak solution of the 2D incompressible Marangoni problem, which is modelled by the Boussinesq equations omitting effect of buoyancy. We study a system of partial differential equations describing the steady flow of a heat conducting incompressible fluid in a bounded three dimensional domain, where the right-hand side of the momentum equation includes the buoyancy force. In the present work we prove the existence of a weak solution under both the smallness and a sign condition on physical parameters α0 and α1 which appear on the right hand side.  相似文献

The spatial stability properties of a mixed convection boundary layer developing over a heated horizontal plate is studied here under linear and quasi-parallel flow assumption. The main aim of the present work is to find out if there is a critical buoyancy parameter that would indicate the importance of heat transfer in destabilizing mixed convection boundary layers, when the buoyancy effect is given by Boussinesq approximation. The undisturbed flow used here is that given by the similarity solution of [ 1 ] that implies the wall temperature to vary as the inverse square root of the distance from the leading edge of the plate. The stability of this flow has been investigated by using the compound matrix method (CMM)—that allows finding all the modes in the chosen range in the complex wave number plane for spatial stability analysis. Presented neutral curves for mixed convection boundary layer show the existence of two types of disturbances present simultaneously, for large buoyancy parameter. One notices very unstable high-frequency mode when the buoyancy parameter exceeds the above-mentioned critical value. This unstable thermal mode is in addition to the hydrodynamic mode of isothermal flow given by corresponding similarity profile. The calculated critical buoyancy parameter is shown to qualitatively match with experimental results.  相似文献

The correctness of a setting the initial-boundary value problem is discussed for the one-dimensional motion of an emulsion in a field of micro-accelerations and thermocapillary forces with the heat conductivity depending on concentration and with nonzero buoyancy. We prove the local solvability in time of the problem with zero velocities of both phases at both ends of the interval and zero concentration flow at one of its ends. Also, we establish the uniqueness of the classical solution on the interval of existence.  相似文献

In this paper, the dynamic response of an Euler-Bernoulli beam and string system traversed by a constant moving force is considered. The force is moving with a constant velocity on the top beam. The complex system is finite, simply supported, parallel one upon the other and continuously coupled by a linear Winkler elastic element. The classical solution of the response of a beam-string system subjected to a force moving with a constant velocity has a form of an infinite series. The main goal of this paper is to show that in the considered case the aperiodic part of the solution can be presented in a closed, analytical form instead of an infinite series. The presented method of finding the solution in a closed, analytical form is based on the observation that the solution of the system of partial differential equations in the form of an infinite series is also a solution of an appropriate system of ordinary differential equations. We investigate the effect of buoyancy on the upper-branch linearstability characteristics of an accelerating boundary-layerflow. The presence of a large thermal buoyancy force significantlyalters the stability structure. As the factor G (which is relatedto the Grashof number of the flow, and defined in Section 2)becomes large and positive, the flow structure becomes two layeredand disturbances are governed by the Taylor-Goldstein equation.The resulting inviscid modes are unstable for a large componentof the wavenumber spectrum, with the result that buoyancy isstrongly destabilizing. Restabilization is encountered at sufficientlylarge wavenumbers. For G large and negative the flow structureis again two layered Disturbances to the basic flow are nowgoverned by the steady Taylor—Goldstein equation in themajority of the boundary layer, coupled with a viscous walllayer. The resulting eigenvalue problem is identical to thatfound for the corresponding case of lower-branch Tollmien—Schlichtingwaves, thus suggesting that the neutral curve eventually becomesclosed in this limit.  相似文献

论证了张力腿平台(TLP)在波浪作用下发生有限振幅运动时,所受惯性力、粘性力、浮力等载荷不仅与波浪场有关,还与瞬时响应有关,是响应的非线性函数;张力腿拉力也是各自由度位移的非线性函数.所以分析TLP受力时必须考虑平台的瞬时加速度、速度和位移,在瞬时位置建立运动方程.据此推导出TLP发生有限振幅运动时的外力计算公式,建立了TLP 6自由度有限振幅运动非线性控制方程.其中考虑了由6自由度有限位移引起的多种非线性因素,如各自由度之间的耦合、瞬时湿表面、瞬时位置等;还包括自由表面效应、粘性力等因素引起的非线性.用数值方法求解所得到的非线性运动方程.对典型平台ISSC TLP进行了数值分析,求得该平台在规则波作用下的6自由度运动响应.用退化到线性范围的解与已有解进行了对比,吻合良好.数值结果表明,综合考虑非线性因素后响应有明显改变.  相似文献

A surface tension driven flow in the liquid vicinity of an air bubble on a heated wall is studied experimentally. The liquid flow caused by the temperature gradient along the surface of the bubble is termed thermocapillary convection. The surface tension force and the buoyancy force oppose one another. The measurement technique is the 3D particle tracking velocity and thermometry, 3D PTV/T, using thermochromic liquid crystals and digital image processing. The mixed convection boundary layer on a horizontal plate is considered for the two separate cases when there is a uniform free stream with the plate held fixed and when there is no outer flow but the plate is moving continuously with a uniform velocity along its length. In both cases we assume that power law temperature distribution on the plate which enables the governing equations to be reduced to similarity form. For the first problem we consider the range of buoyancy parameter for which there are dual solutions, showing how these dual solutions arise from a bifurcation and how the lower branch of solutions terminate as the buoyancy parameter tends to zero. For the second problem we show that there is a unique solution for all positive values of the buoyancy parameter and that for negative values the solution terminates at a singular solution with algebraic decay.
Zusammenfassung Die Grenzschicht an einer horizontalen Platte mit gemischter Konvektion wird für zwei Fälle untersucht: Für eine ruhende Platte bei gleichförmiger Außenströmung und für eine Platte, die sich kontinuierlich mit konstanter Geschwindigkeit in ihrer eigenen Ebene bewegt, ohne Außenströmung. Für beide Fälle wählen wir ein Potenzgesetz für die Temperaturverteilung entlang der Wand, für welche die Grundgleichungen eine Ähnlichkeitslösung zulassen. In der ersten Problemstellung betrachten wir einen Bereich des Auftriebsparameters, für den zweifache Lösungen existieren. Wir zeigen, wie diese doppelten Lösungen aus einer Bifurkation entstehen und wie der untere Lösungszweig endet, wenn der Auftriebsparameter gegen Null strebt. Für die zweite Problemstellung zeigen wir, daß eine eindeutige Lösung existiert für alle positiven Werte des Auftriebsparameters und daß für negative Werte eine singuläre Lösung mit algebraischem Zerfall erreicht wird.

An analysis is performed to study the unsteady mixed convection flow of a viscous incompressible micropolar fluid adjacent to a heated vertical surface in the presence of viscous dissipation when the buoyancy force assists or opposes the flow. The flow of the fluid and subsequent heat transfer from the stretching surface is investigated with the aid of appropriate transformation variables. The effect of the governing parameters on the flow and heat transfer characteristics as well as the local skin friction coefficient, wall couple stress and the heat transfer rate are thoroughly examined.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors first consider the global well-posedness of 3-D Boussinesq system, which has variable kinematic viscosity yet without thermal conductivity and buoyancy force, provided that the viscosity coefficient is sufficiently close to some positive constant in L∞and the initial velocity is small enough in B_(3,1)~0(R~3). With some thermal conductivity in the temperature equation and with linear buoyancy force θe3 on the velocity equation in the Boussinesq system, the authors also prove the global well-posedness of such system with initial temperature and initial velocity being sufficiently small in L~1(R~3)and B_(3,1)~0(R~3) respectively.  相似文献
