An important problem in a given dynamical system is to determine the existence of a homoclinic orbit. We improve the results of Qin and Xiao [Nonlinearity, 20 (2007), 2305–2317], who present some sufficient conditions for the existence of a homoclinic/heteroclinic orbit for the generalized H´enon map. Moreover, an algorithm is presented to locate these homoclinic orbits.  相似文献

Melnikov method and detection of chaos for non-smooth systems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We extend the Melnikov method to non-smooth dynamical systems to study the global behavior near a non-smooth homoclinic orbit under small time-periodic perturbations. The definition and an explicit expression for the extended Melnikov function are given and applied to determine the appearance of transversal homoclinic orbits and chaos. In addition to the standard integral part, the extended Melnikov function contains an extra term which reflects the change of the vector field at the discontinuity. An example is discussed to illustrate the results.  相似文献

Invariant manifold play an important role in the qualitative analysis of dynamical systems, such as in studying homoclinic orbit and heteroclinic orbit. This paper focuses on stable and unstable manifolds of hyperbolic singular points. For a type of n-dimensional quadratic system, such as Lorenz system, Chen system, Rossler system if n = 3, we provide the series expression of manifolds near the hyperbolic singular point, and proved its convergence using the proof of the formal power series. The expressions can be used to investigate the heteroclinic orbits and homoclinic orbits of hyperbolic singular points.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the dynamical behavior for a 4-dimensional reversible system near its heteroclinic loop connecting a saddle-focus and a saddle. The existence of infinitely many reversible 1-homoclinic orbits to the saddle and 2-homoclinic orbits to the saddle-focus is shown. And it is also proved that, corresponding to each 1-homoclinic (resp. 2-homoclinic) orbit F, there is a spiral segment such that the associated orbits starting from the segment are all reversible 1-periodic (resp. 2-periodic) and accumulate onto F. Moreover, each 2-homoclinic orbit may be also accumulated by a sequence of reversible 4-homoclinic orbits.  相似文献

We prove a number of identities relating the sofic entropy of a certain class of non-expansive algebraic dynamical systems, the sofic entropy of the Wired Spanning Forest and the tree entropy of Cayley graphs of residually finite groups. We also show that homoclinic points and periodic points in harmonic models are dense under general conditions.  相似文献

We analyze the continuation and bifurcation of homoclinic orbits near a given degenerate homoclinic orbit. We show that the existence of such degenerate homoclinic orbit is a codimension three phenomenon, and that generically the set of parametervalues at which a nearby homoclinic exists forms a codimension one surface which shows a singularity of Whitney umbrella type at the critical parametervalue. The line of self-intersecting points of such surface corresponds to systems which have two nearby homoclinics.  相似文献

Slowly varying Hamiltonian systems, for which action is a well-known adiabatic invariant, are considered in the case where the system undergoes a saddle center bifurcation. We analyze the situation in which the solution slowly passes through the nonhyperbolic homoclinic orbit created at the saddle-center bifurcation. The solution near this homoclinic orbit consists of a large sequence of homoclinic orbits surrounded by near approaches to the autonomous nonlinear nonhyperbolic saddle point. By matching this solution to the strongly nonlinear oscillations obtained by averaging before and after crossing the homoclinic orbit, we determine the change in the action. If one orbit comes sufficiently close to the nonlinear saddle point, then that one saddle approach instead satisfies the nonautonomous first Painlevé equation, whose stable manifold of the unstable saddle (created in the saddle-center bifurcation) separates solutions approaching the stable center from those involving sequences of nearly homoclinic orbits.  相似文献

We present a method for the study of dynamical systems based on the notion of quantity of information. Measuring the quantity of information of a string by using data compression algorithms, it is possible to give a notion of orbit complexity of dynamical systems. In compact ergodic dynamical systems, entropy is almost everywhere equal to orbit complexity. We have introduced a new compression algorithm called CASToRe which allows a direct estimation of the information content of the orbits in the 0-entropy case. The method is applied to a sporadic dynamical system (Manneville map).  相似文献

In this paper the dynamical behaviors of a predator-prey system with Holling Type-Ⅳfunctionalresponse are investigated in detail by using the analyses of qualitative method,bifurcation theory,and numericalsimulation.The qualitative analyses and numerical simulation for the model indicate that it has a unique stablelimit cycle.The bifurcation analyses of the system exhibit static and dynamical bifurcations including saddle-node bifurcation,Hopf bifurcation,homoclinic bifurcation and bifurcation of cusp-type with codimension two(ie,the Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation),and we show the existence of codimension three degenerated equilibriumand the existence of homoclinic orbit by using numerical simulation.  相似文献

Transversal homoclinic orbits of maps are known to generate a Cantor set on which a power of the map conjugates to the Bernoulli shift on two symbols. This conjugacy may be regarded as a coding map, which for example assigns to a homoclinic symbol sequence a point in the Cantor set that lies on a homoclinic orbit of the map with a prescribed number of humps. In this paper we develop a numerical method for evaluating the conjugacy at periodic and homoclinic symbol sequences in a systematic way. The approach combines our previous method for computing the primary homoclinic orbit with the constructive proof of Smale's theorem given by Palmer. It is shown that the resulting nonlinear systems are well conditioned uniformly with respect to the characteristic length of the symbol sequence and that Newton's method converges uniformly too when started at a proper pseudo orbit. For the homoclinic symbol sequences an error analysis is given. The method works in arbitrary dimensions and it is illustrated by examples. We study the main bifurcations of multidimensional diffeomorphisms having a nontransversal homoclinic orbit to a saddle-node fixed point. On a parameter plane we build a bifurcation diagram for single-round periodic orbits lying entirely in a small neighborhood of the homoclinic orbit. Also, a relation of our results to the well-known codimension one bifurcations of a saddle fixed point with a quadratic homoclinic tangency and a saddle-node fixed point with a transversal homoclinic orbit is discussed.  相似文献

The homoclinic bifurcations in four dimensional vector fields are investigated by setting up a local coordinates near the homoclinic orbit. This homoclinic orbit is non-principal in the meanings that its positive semi-orbit takes orbit flip and its unstable foliation takes inclination flip. The existence, nonexistence, uniqueness and coexistence of the 1-homoclinic orbit and the 1-periodic orbit are studied. The existence of the twofold periodic orbit and three-fold periodic orbit are also obtained.  相似文献

This homoclinic orbit is principal but its stable and unstable foliations take inclination flip. The existence, nonexistence, and uniqueness of the 1-homoclinic orbit and 1-periodic orbit are studied. The existence of the two-fold 1 -periodic orbit and three-fold 1 -periodic orbit are also obtained. It is indicated that the number of periodic orbits bifurcated from this kind of homoclinic orbits depends heavily on the strength of the inclination flip.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors develop new global perturbation techniques for detecting the persistence of transversal homoclinic orbits in a more general nondegenerated system with action-angle variable. The unperturbed system is assumed to have saddle-center type equilibrium whose stable and unstable manifolds intersect in one dimensional manifold, and does not have to be completely integrable or near-integrable. By constructing local coordinate systems near the unperturbed homoclinic orbit, the conditions of existence of transversal homoclinic orbit are obtained, and the existence of periodic orbits bifurcated from homoclinic orbit is also considered.  相似文献

Bifurcations of a degenerate homoclinic orbit with orbit flip in high dimensional system are studied. By establishing a local coordinate system and a Poincaré map near the homoclinic orbit, the existence and uniqueness of 1–homoclinic orbit and 1–periodic orbit are given.
