In this paper we first introduce the concept of compatible mappings of type (B) and compare these mappings with compatible mappings and compatible mappings of type (A) in Saks spaces. In the sequel, we derive some relations between these mappings. Secondly, we prove a coincidence point theorem and common fixed point theorem for compatible mappings of type (B) in Saks spaces.  相似文献

In 1940 S.M. Ulam proposed the famous Ulam stability problem. In 1941 D.H. Hyers solved this problem for additive mappings subject to the Hyers condition on approximately additive mappings. In this paper we generalize the Hyers result for the Ulam stability problem for Jensen type mappings, by considering approximately Jensen type mappings satisfying conditions weaker than the Hyers condition, in terms of products of powers of norms. This process leads to a refinement of the well-known Hyers-Ulam approximation for the Ulam stability problem. Besides we introduce additive mappings of the first and second form and investigate pertinent stability results for these mappings. Also we introduce approximately Jensen type mappings and prove that these mappings can be exactly Jensen type, respectively. These stability results can be applied in stochastic analysis, financial and actuarial mathematics, as well as in psychology and sociology.  相似文献

In this paper, we first study the relationship between weakly contractive mappings and weakly Kannan mappings. Further, we discuss characterizations of metric completeness which are connected with the existence of fixed points for mappings. Especially, we show that a metric space is complete if it has the fixed point property for Kannan mappings.

Summary In this paper we consider several classes of mappings related to the class of contraction mappings by introducing a convexity condition with respect to the iterates of the mappings. Several fixed point theorems are proved for such mappings. Further, in a similar way we consider a related class of mappings satisfying a convexity condition with respect to diameters of bounded sets. In the last part we consider classes of mappings on PM- spaces (probabilistic metric spaces of K. Menger) and some fixed point theorems are given for such classes.  相似文献

The paper deals with the theory of space mappings. For a generalization of quasiregular mappings important for the investigation of the Sobolev and other known classes of mappings, we propose a simple condition satisfied by all mappings of this kind and only by these mappings. On the basis of conditions of divergence of the integrals, we establish sufficient conditions for the normality of the families of the analyzed classes of mappings and solve the problem of removing isolated singularities. Some applications of the obtained results to mappings from the Sobolev class are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish the equivalence between the existence of zeros for set-valued mappings and the solvability of variational inequality, under some conditions involving the generalized projection operator. Basing on this result, we obtain some existence theorems of zeros for quasimonotone set-valued mappings. In this paper we extend and generalize several known estimates for homogeneous polynomials and multilinear mappings on Banach spaces. In this paper, we prove a strong convergence theorem by the hybrid method for a family of nonexpansive mappings which generalizes Nakajo and Takahashi's theorems [K. Nakajo, W. Takahashi, Strong convergence theorems for nonexpansive mappings and nonexpansive semigroups, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 279 (2003) 372-379], simultaneously. Furthermore, we obtain another strong convergence theorem for the family of nonexpansive mappings by a hybrid method which is different from Nakajo and Takahashi. Using this theorem, we get some new results for a single nonexpansive mapping or a family of nonexpansive mappings in a Hilbert space.  相似文献

In this paper, the class of nonspreading mappings in Banach spaces is introduced. This class contains the recently introduced class of firmly nonexpansive type mappings in Banach spaces and the class of firmly nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces. Among other things, we obtain a fixed point theorem for a single nonspreading mapping in Banach spaces. Using this result, we also obtain a common fixed point theorem for a commutative family of nonspreading mappings in Banach spaces. Received: 10 August 2007  相似文献

In 1941 D.H. Hyers solved the well-known Ulam stability problem for linear mappings. In 1951 D.G. Bourgin was the second author to treat the Ulam problem for additive mappings. In 1982-2005 we established the Hyers-Ulam stability for the Ulam problem of linear and nonlinear mappings. In 1998 S.-M. Jung and in 2002-2005 the authors of this paper investigated the Hyers-Ulam stability of additive and quadratic mappings on restricted domains. In this paper we improve our bounds and thus our results obtained, in 2003 for Jensen type mappings and establish new theorems about the Ulam stability of additive mappings of the second form on restricted domains. Besides we introduce alternative Jensen type functional equations and investigate pertinent stability results for these alternative equations. Finally, we apply our recent research results to the asymptotic behavior of functional equations of these alternative types. These stability results can be applied in stochastic analysis, financial and actuarial mathematics, as well as in psychology and sociology.  相似文献

In 1941 Hyers solved the well-known Ulam stability problem for linear mappings. In 1951 Bourgin was the second author to treat this problem for additive mappings. In 1982-1998 Rassias established the Hyers-Ulam stability of linear and nonlinear mappings. In 1983 Skof was the first author to solve the same problem on a restricted domain. In 1998 Jung investigated the Hyers-Ulam stability of more general mappings on restricted domains. In this paper we introduce additive mappings of two forms: of “Jensen” and “Jensen type,” and achieve the Ulam stability of these mappings on restricted domains. Finally, we apply our results to the asymptotic behavior of the functional equations of these types.  相似文献
