In this article we study asymptotic properties of solutions to first order linear neutral differential equations with variable coefficients and constant delays. Results are stated in terms of the solution to a characteristic equation. By doing this, we extend some of the results obtained for delay equations in [J.G. Dix, Ch.G. Philos, I.K. Purnaras, An asymptotic property of solutions to linear non-autonomous delay differential equations, Electron. J. Differential Equations 2005 (2005) 1-9] to neutral equations.  相似文献

In this work, we consider the existence of nonoscillatory solutions of variable coefficient higher order nonlinear neutral differential equations. Our results include as special cases some well-known results for linear and nonlinear equations of first, second and higher order. We use the Banach contraction principle to obtain new sufficient conditions for the existence of nonoscillatory solutions.  相似文献

We give spectral and algebraic coefficient criteria (necessary and sufficient conditions) as well as sufficient algebraic coefficient conditions for the Lyapunov asymptotic stability of solutions to systems of linear deterministic or stochastic delay difference equations with continuous time under white noise coefficient perturbations for the case in which all delay ratios are rational. For stochastic systems, mean-square asymptotic stability is studied. The Lyapunov function method is used. Our criteria on algebraic coefficients and our sufficient conditions are stated in terms of matrix Lyapunov equations (for deterministic systems) and matrix Sylvester equations (for stochastic systems).  相似文献

In this work, sufficient conditions are established for a class of nonlinear second order neutral impulsive differential equations to have oscillatory solutions with nonpositive neutral coefficient. We obtain conditions for the exponential stability of the zero solution of linear periodic systems of differential equations of the neutral type with several constant delays, which are stated in terms of a Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional of a special form. The basic results are overviewed concerning the formulation of nonlinear elasticity equations in the form of symmetric hyperbolic systems in long-time studies performed under the direction of the first author. The underlying principles developed in those studies are stated, and some inaccuracies and errors are corrected. We introduce a new abstract model of functional differential equations, which we call abstract degenerate neutral differential equations, and we study the existence of strict solutions. The class of problems and the technical approach introduced in this paper allow us to generalize and extend recent results on abstract neutral differential equations. In this paper the asymptotieal stability in p-moment of neutral stochastic differential equations with discrete and distributed time-varying delays is discussed. The authors apply the fixed-point theory rather than the Lyapunov functions. We give a sufficient condition for asymptotical stability in p-moment when the coefficient functions of equations are not required to be fixed values. This paper is concerned with the oscillatory behavior of a class of third-order noonlinear variable delay neutral functional dynamic equations on time scale. By using the generalized Riccati transformation and inequality technique, we establish some new oscilla- tion criteria for the equations. Our results extend and improve some known results, but also unify the oscillation of third-order nonlinear variable delay functional differential equations and functional difference equations with a nonlinear neutral term. The oscillation of certain third-order nonlinear variable delay functional dynamic equations with nonlinear neutral on time scales is discussed in this article. By using the generalized Riccati transformation and a lot of inequality techniques, some new oscillation criteria for the equations are established. Many of the results are new for the corresponding third-order difference equations and differential equations are as special cases. We establish some new criteria for the oscillation of second-order Emden–Fowler neutral delay differential equations. We study the case of superlinear and the case of sublinear equations subject to various conditions. The results obtained show that the presence of a neutral term in a differential equation can cause or destroy oscillatory properties. Several examples are provided to illustrate the relevance of new theorems.  相似文献
