Generalized Invexity and Generalized Invariant Monotonicity   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8  
In this paper, several kinds of invariant monotone maps and generalized invariant monotone maps are introduced. Some examples are given which show that invariant monotonicity and generalized invariant monotonicity are proper generalizations of monotonicity and generalized monotonicity. Relationships between generalized invariant monotonicity and generalized invexity are established. Our results are generalizations of those presented by Karamardian and Schaible.  相似文献

New concepts of relative monotonicity were introduced in Konnov (Oper Res Lett 28:21–26, 2001a) which extend the usual ones. These concepts enable us to establish new existence and uniqueness results for variational inequality problems over product sets. This paper presents first-order characterizations of new (generalized) monotonicity concepts. Specialized results are obtained for the affine case.   相似文献

Known as well as new types of monotone and generalized monotone maps are considered. For gradient maps, these generalized monotonicity properties can be related to generalized convexity properties of the underlying function. We establish connections between some concepts of generalized monotonicity for set-valued maps introduced earlier and some notions of generalized convexity. Moreover, a notion of pseudomonotonicity for set-valued maps is introduced; it is shown that, if a function f is continuous, then its pseudoconvexity is equivalent to the pseudomonotonicity of its generalized subdifferential in the sense of Clarke and Rockafellar.  相似文献

Generalized convex functions preserve many valuable properties of mathematical programming problems with convex functions. Generalized monotone maps allow for an extension of existence results for variational inequality problems with monotone maps. Both models are special realizations of an abstract equilibrium problem with numerous applications, especially in equilibrium analysis (e.g., Blum and Oettli, 1994). We survey existence results for equilibrium problems obtained under generalized convexity and generalized monotonicity. We consider both the scalar and the vector case. Finally existence results for a system of vector equilibrium problems under generalized convexity are surveyed which have applications to a system of vector variational inequality problems. Throughout the survey we demonstrate that the results can be obtained without the rigid assumptions of convexity and monotonicity.  相似文献

This paper addresses the question of the generalized monotonicity of a separable product of operators. We extend the results of an earlier paper to the case where the operators are not continuous and multivalued. We establish two global bounds measuring the distance from any vector to the solution set of the co-coercive variational inequality. In this paper, we obtain some stability results for parametric weak generalized Ky Fan Inequality with set-valued mappings. Under new assumptions, which are weaker than the assumption of C-strict monotonicity, we provide sufficient conditions for the lower semicontinuity of the solution maps to two classes of parametric weak generalized Ky Fan Inequalities in Hausdorff topological vector spaces. We show that harmonic maps from 2-dimensional Euclidean polyhedra to arbitrary NPC spaces are totally geodesic or constant depending on a geometric and combinatorial condition of the links of the 0-dimensional skeleton. Our method is based on a monotonicity formula rather than a codimension estimate of the singular set as developed by Gromov–Schoen or the mollification technique of Korevaar–Schoen.   相似文献

We consider a nonlinear complementarity problem defined by a continuous but not necessarily locally Lipschitzian map. In particular, we examine the connection between solutions of the problem and stationary points of the associated Fischer–Burmeister merit function. This is done by deriving a new necessary optimality condition and a chain rule formula for composite functions involving continuous maps. These results are given in terms of approximate Jacobians which provide the foundation for analyzing continuous nonsmooth maps. We also prove a result on the global convergence of a derivative-free descent algorithm for solving the complementarity problem. To this end, a concept of directional monotonicity for continuous maps is introduced.  相似文献

We study a generalized functional related to the pullback metrics (3). We derive the first variation formula which yield stationary maps. We introduce the stress–energy tensor which is naturally linked to conservation law and yield the monotonicity formula via the coarea formula and the comparison theorem in Riemannian geometry. A version of this monotonicity inequalities enables us to derive some Liouville type results. Also, we investigate the constant Dirichlet boundary value problems and the generalized Chern type results for tension field equation with respect to this functional.  相似文献

In this paper, we study some concepts of generalized differentials for set-valued maps and introduce some new ones. In particular we first focus on the concept of Generalized Differential Quotients, briefly GDQs. It is shown that minimal GDQs are unique for scalar single-valued functions, then GDQs are compared with contingent and Dini derivatives, finally some other results characterizing GDQs are given. A new definition of generalized differentiation theory is presented, namely weak GDQs that are a modification of GDQs. We clarify the relationships with other concepts of generalized differentiability: Clarke generalized Jacobians, path-integral generalized differentials and Warga derivate containers. Finally, some applications of GDQs end the paper.   相似文献

We extend the concept of R-subcommuting maps due to Shahzad[17,18] to the case of non-starshaped domain and obtain a common fixed point result for this class of maps on non-starshaped domain in the setup of p-normed spaces. As applications, we establish noncommutative versions of various best approximation results for generalized I-nonexpansive maps on non-starshaped domain. Our results unify and extend that of Al-Thagafi, Dotson, Habiniak,Jungck and Sessa, Latif, Sahab, Khan and Sessa and Shahzad.  相似文献
