For the nonlinear degenerate parabolic equations, how to find an appropriate boundary value condition to ensure the well-posedness of weak solution has been an interesting and challenging problem. We show that an ε-approximate solution of the cost-constrainedK-commodity flow problem on anN-nodeM-arc network,G can be computed by sequentially solving O(K(? ?2+logGK) logGM log (G? ?1 GK)) single-commodity minimum-cost flow problems on the same network. In particular, an approximate minimum-cost multicommodity flow can be computed in $\tilde O$ (G? ?2 GKNM) running time, where the notation Õ(·) means “up to logarithmic factors”. This result improves the time bound mentioned by Grigoriadis and Khachiyan [4] by a factor ofM/N and that developed more recently by Karger and Plotkin [8] by a factor of? ?1. We also provide a simple $\tilde O$ (NM)-time algorithm for single-commodity budget-constrained minimum-cost flows which is $\tilde O$ (? ?3) times faster than the algorithm developed in the latter paper.  相似文献

Necessary and sufficient conditions for the regularity andq-regularity of (0,1,...,m–2,m) interpolation on the zeros of (1–x 2)P n –2/(,) (x) (,>–1) in a manageable form are established, whereP n –2/(,) (x) stands for the (n–2)th Jacobi polynomial. Meanwhile, the explicit representation of the fundamental polynomials, when they exist, is given. Our goal in this article is to complete the study of the behavior of solutions of the equation in the title when the parameter p is positive and the initial conditions are arbitrary positive numbers. Our main focus is the case 0 < p < 1. We will show that in this case, all solutions which do not monotonically converge to the equilibrium have a subsequence which converges to p and a subsequence which diverges to infinity. For the sake of completeness, we will also present the results (which were previously known) with alternative proofs for the case p = 1 and the case p > 1.  相似文献

In this paper we prove that the equation (2 n – 1)(6 n – 1) = x 2 has no solutions in positive integers n and x. Furthermore, the equation (a n – 1) (a kn – 1) = x 2 in positive integers a > 1, n, k > 1 (kn > 2) and x is also considered. Let n be a positive odd integer. In this paper, combining some properties of quadratic and quartic diophantine equations with elementary analysis, we prove that if n > 1 and both 6n 2 ? 1 and 12n 2 + 1 are odd primes, then the general elliptic curve y 2 = x 3+(36n 2?9)x?2(36n 2?5) has only the integral point (x, y) = (2, 0). By this result we can get that the above elliptic curve has only the trivial integral point for n = 3, 13, 17 etc. Thus it can be seen that the elliptic curve y 2 = x 3 + 27x ? 62 really is an unusual elliptic curve which has large integral points.  相似文献

In this paper we consider families of distinct ovals in the plane, with the property that certain subfamilies have stabbing lines (transversals). Our main result says that if any k member of the family can be stabbed by a line avoiding all the other ovals and k is large enough, then the family consists of at most k+1 ovals. For any n4 we show a family of n ovals, whose n–2 element subfamilies have, but the n–1 element subfamilies do not have, transversals.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to study the weight space L p(x),ω for 0 < p(x) < 1 as well as the topology of this space. Embeddings between different Lebesgue spaces with variable exponent of summability are established.
