广义幂级数环的Morita对偶   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
刘仲奎 《数学学报》2005,48(2):397-402
设A,B是有单位元的环, (S,≤)是有限生成的Artin的严格全序幺半群, AMB是双模.本文证明了双模[[AS,≤]][MS,≤][[BS,≤]]定义一个Morita对偶当且仅当 AMB定义一个Morita对偶且A是左noether的,B是右noether的.因此A上的广 义幂级数环[[AS,≤]]具有Morita对偶当且仅当A是左noether的且具有由双模AMB 诱导的Morita对偶,使得B是右noether的.  相似文献

In this article, we characterize several properties of commutative noetherian local rings in terms of the left perpendicular category of the category of finitely generated modules of finite projective dimension. As an application, we prove that a local ring is regular if (and only if) there exists a strong test module for projectivity having finite projective dimension. We also obtain corresponding results with respect to a semidualizing module.  相似文献

Abstract

For a (left and right) noetherian semilocal ring R we analyse a regularity concept (called weak regularity) based on the equation gld R = dim R. Examples are regular Cohen-Macaulay orders over a regular local ring, localized enveloping algebras of finite dimensional Lie algebras, and the regular rings classified in Rump (2001b). We prove that weakly regular rings are Auslander-regular and Macaulay.  相似文献

A result of Ginn and Moss asserts that a left and right noetherian ring with essential right socle is left and right artinian. There are examples of right finitely embedded rings with ACC on left and right annihilators which are not artinian. Motivated by this, it was shown by Faith that a commutative, finitely embedded ring with ACC on annihilators (and square-free socle) is artinian (quasi-Frobenius). A ring R is called right minsymmetric if, whenever k R is a simple right ideal of R, then R k is also simple. In this paper we show that a right noetherian right minsymmetric ring with essential right socle is right artinian. As a consequence we show that a ring is quasi-Frobenius if and only if it is a right and left mininjective, right finitely embedded ring with ACC on right annihilators. This extends the known work in the artinian case, and also extends Faith's result to the non-commutative case.  相似文献

A new homological dimension, called G*-dimension, is defined for every finitely generated module M over a local noetherian ring R. It is modeled on the CI-dimension of Avramov, Gasharov, and Peeva and has parallel properties. In particular, a ring R is Gorenstein if and only if every finitely generated R-module has finite G*-dimension. The G*-dimension lies between the CI-dimension and the G-dimension of Auslander and Bridger. This relation belongs to a longer sequence of inequalities, where a strict inequality in any place implies equalities to its right and left. Over general local rings, we construct classes of modules that show that a strict inequality can occur at almost every place in the sequence.  相似文献

We introduce for any Grothendieck category the notion of stable localizing subcategory, as a localizing subcategory that can be written as an intersection of localizing subcategories defined by indecomposable injectives. A Grothendieck category in which every localizing subcategory is stable is called a locally stable category. As a main result we give a characterization of these categories in terms of the local stability of a localizing subcategory and its quotient category. The locally coirreducible categories (in particular, the categories with Gabriel dimension) and the locally noetherian categories are examples of locally stable categories. We also present some applications to the category of modules over a left fully bounded noetherian ring, to the category of comodules over a coalgebra and to the category of modules over graded rings.  相似文献

A right module M over a ring R is said to be retractable if Hom R (M, N) ≠ 0 for each nonzero submodule N of M. We show that M ? R RG is a retractable RG-module if and only if M R is retractable for every finite group G. The ring R is (finitely) mod-retractable if every (finitely generated) right R-module is retractable. Some comparisons between max rings, semiartinian rings, perfect rings, noetherian rings, nonsingular rings, and mod-retractable rings are investigated. In particular, we prove ring-theoretical criteria of right mod-retractability for classes of all commutative, left perfect, and right noetherian rings.  相似文献

The origin of Gelfand rings comes from [9] where the Jacobson topology and the weak topology are compared. The equivalence of these topologies defines a regular Banach algebra. One of the interests of these rings resides in the fact that we have an equivalence of categories between vector bundles over a compact manifold and finitely generated projective modules over C(M), the ring of continuous real functions on M [17].These rings have been studied by R. Bkouche (soft rings [3]) C.J. Mulvey (Gelfand rings [15]) and S. Teleman (harmonic rings [19]).Firstly we study these rings geometrically (by sheaves of modules (Theorem 2.5)) and then introduce the ?ech covering dimension of their maximal spectrums. This allows us to study the stable rank of such a ring A (Theorem 6.1), the nilpotence of the nilideal of K0(A) - The Grothendieck group of the category of finitely generated projective A-modules - (Theorem 9.3), and an upper limit on the maximal number of generators of a finitely generated A-module as a function of the afore-mentioned dimension (Theorem 4.4).Moreover theorems of stability are established for the group K0(A), depending on the stable rank (Theorems 8.1 and 8.2). They can be compared to those for vector bundles over a finite dimensional paracompact space [18].Thus there is an analogy between finitely generated projective modules over Gelfand rings and ?ech dimension, and finitely generated projective modules over noetherian rings and Krull dimension.  相似文献

Elements of the universal (von Neumann) regular ring T(R) of a commutative semiprime ring R can be expressed as a sum of products of elements of R and quasi-inverses of elements of R. The maximum number of terms required is called the regularity degree, an invariant for R measuring how R sits in T(R). It is bounded below by 1 plus the Krull dimension of R. For rings with finitely many primes and integral extensions of noetherian rings of dimension 1, this number is precisely the regularity degree.

For each n ≥ 1, one can find a ring of regularity degree n + 1. This shows that an infinite product of epimorphisms in the category of commutative rings need not be an epimorphism.

Finite upper bounds for the regularity degree are found for noetherian rings R of finite dimension using the Wiegand dimension theory for Patch R. These bounds apply to integral extensions of such rings as well.  相似文献

An associative ring R, not necessarily with an identity element, is called semilocal if R modulo its Jacobson radical is an artinian ring. It is proved that if the adjoint group of a semilocal ring R is locally supersoluble, then R is locally Lie-supersoluble and its Jacobson radical is contained in a locally Lie-nilpotent ideal of finite index in R.  相似文献

We discuss the following three questions concerning multiplicative filtrations on commutative rings: (1) Must every filtration with finite power type be an AP-filtration? (2) Is the intersection of two AP-filtrations always an AP-filtration?, and (3) Does the multiplicity limit for a module of finite type with respect to a O-dimensional filtration on a noetherian ring always exist? We give examples to show that all three questions have in general negative answers for noetherian rings. However, in case of Dedekind domains the questions all have affirmative answers.  相似文献

The following dichotomy is established: A finitely generated, complex Dedekind domain that is not commutative is a simple ring. Weaker versions of this dichotomy are proved for Dedekind prime rings and hereditary noetherian prime rings.

A ring R is called left “GF-closed”, if the class of all Gorenstein flat left R-modules is closed under extensions. The class of left GF-closed rings includes strictly the one of right coherent rings and the one of rings of finite weak dimension.

In this article, we investigate the Gorenstein flat dimension over left GF-closed rings. Namely, we generalize the fact that the class of all Gorenstein flat left modules is projectively resolving over right coherent rings to left GF-closed rings. Also, we generalize the characterization of Gorenstein flat left modules (then of Gorenstein flat dimension of left modules) over right coherent rings to left GF-closed rings. Finally, using direct products of rings, we show how to construct a left GF-closed ring that is neither right coherent nor of finite weak dimension.  相似文献

In this paper it is proved that a variety generated by a finite algebraic system with finitely many operations is finitely axiomatizable, provided that the variety is congruence modular and residually small. This result is an extension to congruence modular varieties of a well known theorem for congruence distributive varieties, due to K. A. Baker. Also, under somewhat less restrictive hypotheses, (which are satisfied by finite groups and rings) it is proved that a finite algebraic system belongs to a finitely axiomatizable locally finite variety.Research supported by National Science Foundation Grant No. DMS-8302295.Presented by George Gratzer.  相似文献

Abstract

A commutative ring R is said to satisfy property (P) if every finitely generated proper ideal of R admits a non-zero annihilator. In this paper we give some necessary and sufficient conditions that a ring satisfies property (P). In particular, we characterize coherent rings, noetherian rings and Π-coherent rings with property (P).  相似文献

Before his death, Auslander announced that every finitely generated module over a local Gorenstein ring has a minimal Cohen–Macaulay approximation. Yoshimo extended Auslander's result to local Cohen–Macaulay rings admitting a dualizing module.Over a local Gorenstein ring the finitely generated maximal Cohen–Macaulay modules are the finitely generated Gorenstein projective modules so in fact Auslander's theorem says finitely generated modules over such rings have Gorenstein projective covers. We extend Auslander's theorem by proving that over a local Cohen–Macaulay ring admitting a dualizing module all finitely generated modules of finite G-dimension (in Auslander's sense) have a Gorenstein projective cover. Since all finitely generated modules over a Gorenstein ring have finite G-dimension, we recover Auslander's theorem when R is Gorenstein.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A Gorenstein module over a local ring R is a maximal Cohen–Macaulay module of finite injective dimension. We use existence of Gorenstein modules to extend a result due to S. Ding: A Cohen–Macaulay ring of finite index, with a Gorenstein module, is Gorenstein on the punctured spectrum. We use this to show that a Cohen–Macaulay local ring of finite Cohen–Macaulay type is Gorenstein on the punctured spectrum. Finally, we show that for a large class of rings (including all excellent rings), the Gorenstein locus of a finitely generated module is an open set in the Zariski topology.  相似文献
