The application of an identity operator for Saigo’s fractional calculus operators is shown by evaluating the limit of an indeterminate form. Its special case yields the result which has been used as an infinitesimal generator in the semigroup theory. Also, an identity operator for the recently introduced multi-dimensional fractional operators (due to Srivastava and Raina [8]) is discussed.  相似文献

We study the rate of convergence of a sequence of linear operators that converges pointwise to a linear operator. Our main interest is in characterizing the slowest type of pointwise convergence possible. This is a continuation of the paper Deutsch and Hundal (2010) [14]. The main result is a “lethargy” theorem (Theorem 3.3) which gives useful conditions that guarantee arbitrarily slow convergence. In the particular case when the sequence of linear operators is generated by the powers of a single linear operator, we obtain a “dichotomy” theorem, which states the surprising result that either there is linear (fast) convergence or arbitrarily slow convergence; no other type of convergence is possible. The dichotomy theorem is applied to generalize and sharpen: (1) the von Neumann–Halperin cyclic projections theorem, (2) the rate of convergence for intermittently (i.e., “almost” randomly) ordered projections, and (3) a theorem of Xu and Zikatanov.  相似文献

Boundary value problems for pseudodifferential operators (with orwithout the transmission property) are characterised as a substructureof the edge pseudodifferential calculus with constant discreteasymptotics. The boundary in this case is the edge and the inner normalthe model cone of local wedges. Elliptic boundary value problems fornoninteger powers of the Laplace symbol belong to the examples as wellas problems for the identity operator in the interior with a prescribednumber of trace and potential conditions. The purpose of this paper is to study the convergence of a path that begins at the unique fixed point of a strongly pseudo-contractive operator defined on a closed and convex subset of a reflexive Banach space and converges to a fixed point of a pseudo-contractive mapping. Primarily, it is proven that a convex combination of these two operators is indeed strongly pseudo-contractive under the weakly inward condition. This fact generalizes a result of Barbu for accretive operators.

We present and analyze a nonconforming domain decomposition approximation for a hypersingular operator governed by the Helmholtz equation in three dimensions. This operator appears when considering the corresponding Neumann problem in unbounded domains exterior to open surfaces. We consider small wave numbers and low‐order approximations with Nitsche coupling across interfaces. Under appropriate assumptions on mapping properties of the weakly singular and hypersingular operators with Helmholtz kernel, we prove that this method converges almost quasioptimally, that is, with optimal orders reduced by an arbitrarily small positive number. This paper gives the concepts of finite dimensional irreducible operators((FDI) operators)and infinite dimensional irreducible operators((IDI) operators). Discusses the relationships of(FDI)operators,(IDI) operators and strongly irreducible operators((SI) operators) and illustrates some properties of the three classes of operators. Some sufficient conditions for the finite-dimensional irreducibility of operators which have the forms of upper triangular operator matrices are given. This paper proves that every operator with a singleton spectrum is a small compact perturbation of an(FDI) operator on separable Banach spaces and shows that every bounded linear operator T can be approximated by operators in(Σ FDI)(X) with respect to the strong-operator topology and every compact operator K can be approximated by operators in(Σ FDI)(X) with respect to the norm topology on a Banach space X with a Schauder basis, where(ΣFDI)(X) := {T∈B(X) : T=Σki=1Ti, Ti ∈(FDI), k ∈ N}.  相似文献

We use the method of the conjugate operator to prove a limiting absorption principle and the absence of the singular continuous spectrum for discrete Schrödinger operators. We also obtain local decay estimates. Our results apply to a large class of perturbating potentials V decaying arbitrarily slowly to zero at infinity.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss stability problems for a class of discrete-time evolution operators generated by linear positive operators acting on certain ordered Banach spaces. Our approach is based upon a new representation result that links a positive operator with the adjoint operator of its restriction to a Hilbert subspace formed by sequences of Hilbert–Schmidt operators. This class includes the evolution operators involved in stability and optimal control problems for linear discrete-time stochastic systems. The inclusion is strict because, following the results of Choi, we have proved that there are positive operators on spaces of linear, bounded and self-adjoint operators which have not the representation that characterize the completely positive operators. As applications, we introduce a new concept of weak-detectability for pairs of positive operators, which we use to derive sufficient conditions for the existence of global and stabilizing solutions for a class of generalized discrete-time Riccati equations. Finally, assuming weak-detectability conditions and using the method of Lyapunov equations we derive a new stability criterion for positive evolution operators.  相似文献

In recent years the coincidence of the operator relations equivalence after extension (EAE) and Schur coupling (SC) was settled for the Hilbert space case. For Banach space operators, it is known that SC implies EAE, but the converse implication is only known for special classes of operators, such as Fredholm operators with index zero and operators that can in norm be approximated by invertible operators. In this paper we prove that the implication EAE ? SC also holds for inessential Banach space operators. The inessential operators were introduced as a generalization of the compact operators, and include, besides the compact operators, also the strictly singular and strictly co-singular operators; in fact they form the largest ideal such that the invertible elements in the associated quotient algebra coincide with (the equivalence classes of) the Fredholm operators.  相似文献

In this study, the new back controlled (BCSO) selection operator for genetic algorithm (GA) is presented. In the first stage, six existing operators and the BCSO were applied to the traveling salesman and space truss benchmark problems. An analysis of the results of the benchmark problems was made for each of the seven selection operators. In the second stage, the BCSO, the Roulette Wheel, dominant selection the hybrid II and operators were used to determine the fittest beam section has been used. In this stage, the cost of beam for a 18.3 m span developed by Mid-Atlantic States Pre-stressed Concrete Committee for Economic Fabrication and using a genetic algorithm the cost of a beam using BCSO were compared. It was determined that the beam produced using the proposed BCSO selection operator would be lower than those obtained with the existing selection operators. Also the determined beam cost is compares favourably with the average cost of a beam sold by the precast industry in the USA.  相似文献

We investigate the deviation of an interpolated operator from a given operator ideal by establishing formulae for the ideal measure of the interpolated operator in terms of the ideal measures of restrictions of the operator. We consider the heat operator of a Bismut superconnection for a family of generalized Dirac operators defined along the leaves of a foliation with Hausdorff graph. We assume that the strong Novikov–Shubin invariants of the Dirac operators are greater than three times the codimension of the foliation. We compute the t asymptotics associated to a rescaling of the metric by 1/t and show that the heat operator converges to the Chern character of the index bundle of the operator. Combined with previous results, this gives a general families index theorem for such operators.  相似文献

In this paper, a method of numerical solution to the dominant eigenvalue problem for positive integral operators is presented. This method is based on results of the theory of positive operators developed by Krein and Rutman. The problem is solved by Monte Carlo method constructing random variables in such a way that differences between results obtained and the exact ones would be arbitrarily small. This paper is devoted to the study of strong convergence in inexact proximal like methods for finding zeroes of maximal monotone operators in Banach spaces. Convergence properties of proximal point methods in Banach spaces can be summarized as follows: if the operator have zeroes then the sequence of iterates is bounded and all its weak accumulation points are solutions. Whether or not the whole sequence converges weakly to a solution and which is the relation of the weak limit with the initial iterate are key questions. We present a hybrid proximal Bregman projection method, allowing for inexact solutions of the proximal subproblems, that guarantees strong convergence of the sequence to the closest solution, in the sense of the Bregman distance, to the initial iterate.  相似文献

This paper firstly discusses the existence of strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces. It shows that there exist strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces with w*-separable dual. It also gives some properties of strongly irreducible operators on Banach spaces. In particular, if T is a strongly irreducible operator on an infinite-dimensional Banach space, then T is not of finite rank and T is not an algebraic operator. On Banach spaces with subsymmetric bases, including infinite-dimensional separable Hilbert spaces, it shows that quasisimilarity does not preserve strong irreducibility. In addition, we show that the strong irreducibility of an operator does not imply the strong irreducibility of its conjugate operator, which is not the same as the property in Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

Every well-bounded operator on a reflexive Banach space is of type (B), and hence has a nice integral representation with respect to a spectral family of projections. A longstanding open question in the theory of well-bounded operators is whether there are any nonreflexive Banach spaces with this property. In this paper we extend the known results to show that on a very large class of nonreflexive spaces, one can always find a well-bounded operator which is not of type (B). We also prove that on any Banach space, compact well-bounded operators have a simple representation as a combination of disjoint projections.

Starting with the well‐ known Bernstein operators, in the present paper, we give a new generalization of the bivariate type. The approximation properties of this new class of bivariate operators are studied. Also, the extension of the proposed operators, namely, the generalized Boolean sum (GBS) in the Bögel space of continuous functions is given. In order to underline the fact that in this particular case, GBS operator has better order of convergence than the original ones, some numerical examples are provided with the aid of Maple soft. Also, the error of approximation for the modified Bernstein operators and its GBS‐type operator are compared.  相似文献
