The degree of freedom of a closed mechanism is the dimension of a subset M of R n , M being the inverse image of the unity by the closure function f : (q 1, ..., q n ) f(q 1, ..., q n ), where q 1, ..., q n are the articular coordinates. We first study the regular points for the mapping f from R n into the Lie group of displacements and, second, study the singularities of the mapping f. The classical theory of mechanisms considers, often implicitly, that f is a subimmersion. Here, the calculations are made in a larger case, up to second order, and the results are then slightly different. The case of such classical mechanisms as Bennett, Bricard, and Goldberg mechanisms, justify the considerations of this more general framework and the example of a Bricard mechanism is chosen as an application of the method.  相似文献

We address the topology of the set of singularities of a solution to a Hamilton–Jacobi equation. For this, we will apply the idea of the first two authors (Cannarsa and Cheng, Generalized characteristics and Lax–Oleinik operators: global result, preprint, arXiv:1605.07581, 2016) to use the positive Lax–Oleinik semi-group to propagate singularities.  相似文献

In this paper we establish the convergence of the Vlasov-Poisson-Boltzmann system to the incompressible Euler equations in the so-called quasi-neutral regime. The convergence is rigorously proved for time intervals on which the smooth solution of the Euler equations of the incompressible fluid exists. The purpose of this study was to gain insight into 30, first year calculus students’ understanding of the relationship between the concept of vertex of a quadratic function and the concept of the derivative. APOS (action-process-object-schema) theory was applied as a guiding framework of analysis on student written work, think-aloud and follow up group interviews. Students’ personal meanings of the vertex, including misconceptions, were explored, along with students’ understanding to solve problems pertaining to the derivative of a quadratic function. Results give evidence of students’ weak schema of the vertex, lack of connection between different problem types and the importance of linguistics in relation to levels of APOS theory. A preliminary genetic decomposition was developed based on the results. Future research is suggested as a continuation to improve student understanding of the relationship between the vertex of quadratic functions and the derivative.  相似文献

In this paper we analyze the sensitivity of the p distance Weber problem to the value of p. We consider each power p to be in a range and not necessarily the same for each demand point. We find the set of possible optimal locations when p is in a given range. We also find the location that minimizes the expected cost, and find the Expected Value of Perfect Information. For a system of identical Bose particles sitting at integer energy levels with the probabilities of microstates given by a multiplicative measure with ≥ 2 degrees of freedom, we estimate the probability of the sequence of occupation numbers to be close to the Bose–Einstein distribution as the total energy tends to infinity. We show that a convergence result earlier proved by A.M. Vershik [Functional Anal. Appl. 30 (2), 95–105 (1996)] is a corollary of our theorems.  相似文献

We consider the Ostrovsky equation, which contains nonlinear dispersive effects. We prove that as the diffusion parameter tends to zero, the solutions of the dispersive equation converge to discontinuous weak solutions of the Ostrovsky–Hunter equation. The proof relies on deriving suitable a priori estimates together with an application of the compensated compactness method in the LpLp setting.  相似文献

We consider the Erlang loss system, characterized by N servers, Poisson arrivals and exponential service times, and allow the arrival rate to be a function of N. We discuss representations and bounds for the rate of convergence to stationarity of the number of customers in the system, and display some bounds for the total variation distance between the time-dependent and stationary distributions.
