Phase relationships, thermal expansion and electrical properties of Mg1 − xFexO (x = 0.1-0.45) cubic solid solutions and Fe3 − x − yMgxCryO4 ± δ (x = 0.7-0.95; y = 0 or 0.5) spinels were studied at 300-1770 K in the oxygen partial pressure range from 10 Pa to 21 kPa. Increasing iron content enlarges the spinel phase stability domain at reduced oxygen pressures and elevated temperatures. The total conductivity of the spinel ceramics is predominantly n-type electronic and is essentially p(O2)-independent within the stability domain. The computer simulations using molecular dynamics technique confirmed that overall level of ion diffusion remains low even at high temperatures close to the melting point. Temperature dependencies of the total conductivity in air exhibit a complex behavior associated with changing the dominant defect-chemistry mechanism from prevailing formation of the interstitial cations above 1370-1470 K to the generation of cation vacancies at lower temperatures, and with kinetically frozen cation redistribution in spinel lattice below 700-800 K. The average thermal expansion coefficients of the spinel ceramics calculated from dilatometric data in air vary in the range (9.6-10.0) × 10− 6 K− 1 at 300-500 K and (13.2-16.1) × 10− 6 K− 1 at 1050-1370 K. Mg1 − xFexO solid solutions undergo partial decomposition on heating under oxidizing and mildly reducing conditions, resulting in the segregation of spinel phase and conductivity decrease.  相似文献

Na1−xLixNbO3 ceramics with composition 0.05≤x≤0.30 were prepared by solid-state reaction method and sintered in the temperature range 1100-1150 °C. These ceramics were characterised by X-ray diffraction as well as dielectric permittivity measurements and Raman spectroscopy. Dielectric properties of ceramics belonging to the whole composition domain were investigated in a broad range of temperatures from 300 to 750 K and frequencies from 0.1 to 200 kHz. The Rietveld refinement powder X-ray diffraction analysis showed that these ceramics have a single phase of perovskite structure with orthorhombic symmetry for x≤0.15 and two phases coexistence of rhombohedral and orthorhombic above x=0.20. The evolution of the permittivity as a function of temperature and frequency showed that these ceramics Na1−xLixNbO3 with composition 0.05≤x≤0.15 present the classical ferroelectric character and the phase transition temperature TC increases as x content increases. The polarisation state was checked by pyroelectric and piezoelectric measurements. For x=0.05, the piezoelectric coefficient d31 is of 2pC/N. The evolution of the Raman spectra was studied as a function of temperatures and compositions. The results of the Raman spectroscopy study confirm our dielectric measurements, and they indicate clearly the transition from the polar ferroelectric phase to the non-polar paraelectric one.  相似文献

Complex impedance spectroscopy (CIS) technique has been utilized to investigate the intra- and intergranular contributions to the impedance in pristine and wolframium (tungsten, W) -substituted strontium bismuth tantalate [SrBi2(Ta1−xWx)2O9 (SBTW); x=0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1 and 0.2] ceramics as a function of temperature and frequency. CIS studies reveal that the electrical relaxation process was temperature dependent and non-Debye type. The temperature dependence of the relaxation time was found to obey the Arrhenius law. DC conductivity of the studied samples obtained from the CIS data decreased for W content upto x=0.05, followed by a subsequent increase with x>0.05. Electrical conductivity data including the typical values of the activation energies at high temperature indicated that the conductivity in the studied ceramics was essentially due to the contribution of doubly ionized oxygen vacancies to the conduction process.  相似文献

Bi1+xCexFeO3 (Ce–BFO) for x=0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.15 monophasic ceramic samples were successfully synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction routes. The influences of Ce doping on structural, dielectric, ferroelectric, leakage current and capacitive properties of BiFeO3 ceramics were investigated intensively. At higher concentrations of x (x=0.1 and 0.15) the samples showed good crystallinity with almost impurity free phases. No structural phase transformation took place after partial doping of Ce ions and all ceramic bulk samples remain in their rhombohedral structure with space group R3c. The dielectric behavior of the samples improved significantly and the ferroelectric hysteresis loops changed their shape from rounded to a strongly nonlinear typical ferroelectric feature mainly originating from the domain switching and became enhanced with increase in doping concentration of cerium (Ce). Experimental results also suggested that partial doping of higher valence, smaller ionic radius Ce ions in BiFeO3 forces the reduction of oxygen vacancies, resulting in a great suppression of leakage current. It is found that the sharp capacitance peak/discontinuity present in the CV characteristics of Ce–BFO for different Ce doping concentrations is directly associated with the polarization reversal. Incorporation of excess bismuth in the presence of Ce in BiFeO3 is expected to compensate Bi loss during high temperature sintering and caused structural distortion which also favors enhancement of ferroelectric properties in Ce-doped BFO.  相似文献

Effects of BiFeO3 (BFO) content on the microstructure and electrical properties of Ba0.85Ca0.15Ti0.90Zr0.10O3 (BCTZ) ceramics prepared by normal sintering in air were investigated. A stable solid solution is formed between BCTZ and BFO. The grain size gradually becomes smaller, and the ceramics become denser with increasing the BFO content. The Curie temperature, dielectric constant, and dielectric loss of BCTZ ceramics decrease simultaneously with the introduction of BFO. Moreover, the remanent polarization reaches a maximum at x = 0.2 mol%, and the coercive field continuously increases with increasing the BFO content due to the introduction of BFO with a higher coercive field. Improved piezoelectric properties (d33 ∼ 405 pC/N and kp ∼ 0.44) are demonstrated for the BCTZ ceramic with x = 0.2 mol%.  相似文献

Magnetoresistance (MR) and magnetization (dc and ac) measurements have been carried out on the manganites, (La0.7−2xEux)(Ca0.3Srx)MnO3 (0.05≤x≤0.15), in the temperature range of 5-320 K. At 5 K, an unusually large MR of almost 98% is observed in the x=0.15 sample, nearly up to fields of 4-5 T. This large high-field MR occurs in the metallic region, far below the insulator-metal transition temperature, and does not vary linearly with applied field. The unusual magnetoresistance is explained in the light of various possibilities such as phase segregation, cluster spin-glass behavior, etc.  相似文献

The thermoelectric properties of Bi intercalated compounds BixTiS2 have been investigated at the temperatures from 5 to 310 K. The results indicate that Bi intercalation into TiS2 leads to substantial decrease of its electrical resistivity (one order low for x=0.05 and two orders low for x=0.15, 0.25 at 300 K) and lattice thermal conductivity (22, 115 and 158% low at 300 K for x=0.05, 0.15 and 0.25, respectively). Specially, the figure of merit, ZT, of lightly intercalated compound Bi0.05TiS2 has been improved at all temperatures investigated, and specifically reaches 0.03 at 300 K, which is about twice as large as that of TiS2.  相似文献

Solid solutions of bismuth layered (Bi2O3)(BaxMo1−xO3) (0.2≤x≤0.8, x is in step of 0.2) ceramics were prepared by conventional solid-state reaction of the constitutive oxides at optimized temperatures with a view to study its electrical properties. Powder X-ray diffraction has been employed for physical characterization and an average grain size of ∼16 to 22 nm was obtained. XRD study reveals the single phase structure of the samples. Dielectric properties such as dielectric constant (ε′), dielectric loss (tanδ) and ac electrical conductivity (σac) of the prepared ceramics sintered at various temperatures in the frequency range 101–107 Hz have been studied. A strong dispersion observed in the dielectric properties shows the relaxor type behavior of the ceramic. The presence of maxima in the dielectric permittivity spectra indicates the ferroelectric behavior of the samples. Impedance plots (Cole–Cole plots) at different frequencies and temperatures were used to analyze the electric behavior. The value of grain resistance increases with the increase in Ba ion concentration. The conductivity mechanism shows a frequency dependence, which can be ascribed to the space charge mainly due to the oxygen vacancies. The relaxation observed for the M″ (ω) or Z″ (ω) curves is correlated to both localized and long range conduction. A single ‘master curve’ for the normalized plots of all the modulus isotherms observed for a given composition indicates that the conductivity relaxation is temperature independent.  相似文献

We have studied the effect of Fe substitution on magnetic and magnetocaloric properties in La0.7Sr0.3Mn1−xFexO3 (x=0.05, 0.07, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20) over a wide temperature range (T=10-400 K). It is shown that substitution by Fe gradually decreases the ferromagnetic Curie temperature (TC) and saturation magnetization up to x=0.15 but a dramatic change occurs for x=0.2. The x=0.2 sample can be considered as a phase separated compound in which both short-range ordered ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases coexist. The magnetic entropy change (−ΔSm) was estimated from isothermal magnetization curves and it decreases with increase of Fe content from 4.4 J kg−1 K−1 at 343 K (x=0.05) to 1.3 J kg−1 K−1 at 105 K (x=0.2), under ΔH=5 T. The La0.7Sr0.3Mn0.93Fe0.07O3 sample shows negligible hysteresis loss, operating temperature range over 60 K around room temperature with refrigerant capacity of 225 J kg−1, and magnetic entropy of 4 J kg−1 K−1 which will be an interesting compound for application in room temperature refrigeration.  相似文献

Four manganite samples of the series, (La1/3Sm2/3)2/3SrxBa0.33−xMnO3, with x=0.0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.33, were investigated by X-band (∼9.5 GHz) electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) in the temperature range 4-300 K. The temperature dependences of EPR lines and linewidths of the samples with x=0.0, 0.1 and 0.2, containing Ba2+ ions, exhibit similar behavior, all characterized by the transition temperatures (TC) to ferromagnetic states in the 110-150 K range. However, the sample with x=0.33 (containing no Ba2+ ions) is characterized by a much higher TC=205 K. This is due to significant structural changes effected by the substitution of Ba2+ ions by Sr2+ ions. There is an evidence of exchange narrowing of EPR lines near Tmin, where the linewidth exhibits the minimum. Further, a correlation between the temperature dependence of the EPR linewidth and conductivity is observed in all samples, ascribed to the influence of small-polaron hopping conductivity in the paramagnetic state. The peak-to-peak EPR linewidth was fitted to ΔBpp(T)=ΔBpp,min+A/Texp(−Ea/kBT), with Ea=0.09 eV for x=0.0, 0.1 and 0.2 and Ea=0.25 eV for x=0.33. From the published resistivity data, fitted here to σ(T)∝1/T exp(−Eσ/kBT), the value of Eσ, the activation energy, was found to be Eσ=0.18 eV for samples with x=0.0, 0.1 and 0.2 and Eσ=0.25 eV for the sample with x=0.33. The differences in the values of Ea and Eσ in the samples with x= 0.0, 0.1and 0.2 and x=0.33 has been ascribed to the differences in the flip-flop and spin-hopping rates. The presence of Griffiths phase for the samples with x=0.1 and 0.2 is indicated; it is characterized by coexistence of ferromagnetic nanostructures (ferrons) and paramagnetic phase, attributed to electronic phase separation.  相似文献

Transport properties and non-stoichiometry of La1−xCaxW1/6O2 and La1−yW1/6O2 (x=0, 0.005, 0.05; y=0.05, 0.1) have been characterized by means of impedance spectroscopy, the EMF-technique, H+/D+ isotope exchange, and thermogravimetry in the temperature range 300-1200 °C as a function of oxygen partial pressure and water vapor partial pressure. The materials exhibit mixed ionic and electronic conductivities; n- and p-type electronic conduction predominate at high temperatures under reducing and oxidizing conditions, respectively. Protons are the major ionic charge carrier under wet conditions and predominates the conductivity below ∼750 °C. The maximum in proton conductivity is observed for LaW1/6O2 with values reaching 3×10−3 S/cm at approximately 800 °C. The high proton conductivity for the undoped material is explained by assuming interaction between water vapor and intrinsic (anti-Frenkel) oxygen vacancies.  相似文献

Layered SrBi2(Nb1−xVx)2O9−δ (SBVN) ceramics with x lying in the range 0-0.3 (30 mol%) were fabricated by the conventional sintering technique. The microstructural studies confirmed the truncating effect of V2O5 on the abnormal platy growth of SBN grains. The electrical conductivity studies were centred in the 573-823 K as the Curie temperature lies in this range. The concentration of mobile charge carriers (n), the diffusion constant (D0) and the mean free path (a) were calculated by using Rice and Roth formalism. The conductivity parameters such as ion-hopping rate (ωp) and the charge carrier concentration (K′) term have been calculated using Almond and West formalism. The aforementioned microscopic parameters were found to be V2O5 content dependent on SrBi2(Nb1−xVx)2O9−δ ceramics.  相似文献

Magnetocaloric effect (MCE) in fine-grained perovskite manganites of the type La0.67Ba0.33Mn1−xSnxO3 (x=0.05, 0.1 and 0.15) were prepared by the solid-state method. The prepared samples remain single phase and exhibit paramagnetic to ferromagnetic phase transition (TC) at 340, 325 and 288 K for x=0.05, 0.1 and 0.15, respectively. From the measured magnetization data of La0.67Ba0.33Mn1−xSnxO3 compounds as a function of field (2 T), the associated magnetic entropy change close to their respective Curie temperatures and the relative cooling power (RCP) have been determined. Large MCE has been obtained in all samples and |ΔSM|max reached the highest value of 2.49 J/kg K at TC (288 K) for the sample x=0.15, with H=2 T.  相似文献

Phase pure perovskite (1−xy)Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-yPbTiO3 (PNN-PZN-PT) ferroelectric ceramics were prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method via a B-site oxide mixing route. The PNN-PZN-PT ceramics sintered at the optimized condition of 1185 °C for 2 h exhibit high relative density and rather homogenous microstructure. With the increase of PbTiO3 (PT) content, crystal structure and electrical properties of the synthesized PNN-PZN-PT ceramics exhibit successive phase transformation. A morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) is supposed to form in (0.9−x)PNN-0.1PZN-xPT at a region of x=32-36 mol% confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement and dielectric measurement. The MPB composition can be pictured as providing a “bridge” connecting rhombohedral ferroelectric (FE) phase and tetragonal one since crystal structure of the MPB composition is similar to both the rhombohedral and tetragonal lattices. Dielectric response of the sintered PNN-PZN-PT ceramics also exhibits successive phase-transition character. 0.64PNN-0.1PZN-0.26PT exhibits broad, diffused and frequency dependent dielectric peaks indicating a character of diffused FE-paraelectric (PE) phase transition of relaxor ferroelectrics and 0.40PNN-0.1PZN-0.50PT exhibits narrow, sharp and frequency independent dielectric peaks indicating a character of first-order FE-PE phase transition of normal ferroelectrics. The FE-PE phase transition of 0.56PNN-0.1PZN-0.34PT is nearly first-order with some diffused character, which also exhibits the largest value of piezoelectric constant d33 of 462pC/N.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline powders of Sr1 − xBi2 + yNb2O9 (SBN, x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4; y = 0, 0.066, 0.133, 0.200, and 0.266) were prepared by aqueous solution method using water-soluble Sr-EDTA, Bi-EDTA and Nb-tartarate as the starting materials. XRD showed that the samples were free from fluorite or pyrochlore phase within heat-treatment temperature from 550 to 600 °C. Average crystallite size and particle diameter were observed to be between 10 and 25 nm, which were analyzed through XRD and TEM, respectively. Bi-substitution has substantially improved the sinterability of SBN and enabled to achieve high density (96%), which was otherwise difficult in the case of pure SBN. The dielectric properties of SBN ceramics were significantly enhanced by the partial replacement of Sr2+ ions by the trivalent bismuth ions. The complex impedance diagrams of Bi-substituted SBN, x = 0.4 ceramics exhibited only one semicircle indicating a significant contribution from the grains. In contrast, the impedance plots for pure and other substituted SBN ceramics show an additional low-frequency semicircle, which was attributed to the blocker size effects. The dielectric behavior of pure and Bi-substituted SBN ceramics was rationalized using the impedance and modulus data.  相似文献

Magnetic properties, phase evolution, and microstructure of melt spun Zr-substituted Sm(Co1−zZrz)xCy (x=5-9; y=0-0.15; z=0.03 and 0.06) ribbons quenched at the wheel speed of 40 m/s have been studied. The x-ray diffraction analysis showed that the main phases, found in Sm(Co0.97Zr0.03)x ribbons, were 1:5 phase for x=5-5.5; 1:5 and 1:7 phases for x=6; 1:7 phase for x=6.5-7.5; 1:7 and 2:17 phases for x=8; and only 2:17 phase for x=8.5-9, respectively. For Sm(Co0.97Zr0.03)x ribbons, the attractive magnetic properties of remanent magnetization (Br) of 5.5 kG, intrinsic coercivity (iHc) of 9.5 kOe, and energy product ((BH)max) of 7.0 MGOe were obtained for Sm(Co0.97Zr0.03)6.5 ribbons. Furthermore, a slight amount of C addition in Sm(Co0.97Zr0.03)x ribbons could not only effectively refine the grain size from 200 to 500 nm for C-free ribbon to 10-70 nm for C-added ribbons, but also bring extremely fine fcc-Co grains (2-10 nm), leading to the strengthened exchange coupling effect between the magnetic grains. As a result, magnetic properties were further improved. In this study, the optimal magnetic properties of Br=6.3 kG, iHc=10.5 kOe, and (BH)max=9.0 MGOe were achieved for Sm(Co0.97Zr0.03)7C0.1 nanocomposites.  相似文献

Crystalline solid solution of BiHoXFe1+XO3 (X=0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.15) ceramics have been successfully synthesized by slow step sintering schedule. At particular value of X (X=0.1) the sample showed good crystallinity with almost impurity free phases. It was observed that at particular concentration of X (X=0.1), the sample showed enhanced MH loop by Ho doping in presence of excess Fe. Furthermore, the MH loop gets reduced with the increase in value of X (X=0.15). Compared to the pure BFO, the dielectric properties for X=0.1 composition are improved due to the decreased oxygen vacancies by the stabilized oxygen octahedron. Raman spectra over the frequency range of 100–1500 cm?1 have been systematically investigated with different concentrations of X. Besides the changes of the peak position and the line width of the all modes, the prominent frequency shift, the line broadening and variation of the intensity for the two-phonon mode between 1270 and 1280 cm?1 were observed with increase in value of X. All these results indicate the existence of strong spin–phonon coupling in Ho doped Fe rich BFO.  相似文献

A series of the SmFeAsO1−xFx and GdFeAsO1−xFx (x=0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.25) samples have been prepared using nano-scaled ReF3 as the fluorine resource at a relatively low temperature. The samples have been sintered at 1100 and 1120 °C for SmFeAsO1−xFx and GdFeAsO1−xFx, respectively. These temperatures are at least 50-60° lower than other previous reports. All of the so-prepared samples possess a tetragonal ZrCuSiAs-type structure. Dramatically supression of the lattice parameters and increase in Tc proved that this low temperature process was more effective to introduce fluorine into REFeAsO. Superconducting transition appeared at 39.5 K for SmFeAsO1−xFx with x=0.05 and at 22 K for GdFeAsO1−xFx with x=0.1. The highest Tc was detected to be 54 K in SmFeAsO0.8F0.2 and 40.2 K in GdFeAsO0.75F0.25. The use of the nano-scaled ReF3 compounds has improved the efficiency of the present low temperature method in synthesizing the fluorine-doped iron-based superconductors.  相似文献

This paper reports on multiferroic properties of Ho substituted BiFeO3 (Bi1−xHoxFeO3) ceramics. It is observed that for x=0.15, a prominent ferroelectric loop is seen at 300 K even if the system remains in rhombohedral (R3c) phase without appearance of any observable impurity phases. A well shaped M-H loop is observed at 10 K for x=0.15. However it showed ferromagnetism, confirming the contribution of Ho3+ towards enhancement of ferromagnetic properties of BiFeO3 at 300 K. Suppression of impurity phases of pure BiFeO3 bulk ceramic favors the reduction of mobile oxygen vacancies and reduces leakage current, due to which ferroelectric properties of BiFeO3 is enhanced. We argue that Ho substitution at Bi site is likely to suppress the spiral spin modulation and at the same time increase the canting angle, which favors enhanced multiferroic properties. XRD, SEM, magnetization, polarization and chemical bonding analysis measurements were carried out to explain the multiferroic behavior.  相似文献

The conducting oxides solid solutions of Cd1+xIn2−2xSnxO4 (x=0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0) were prepared via a solid state reaction method. The band gaps were estimated to be 2.4 eV for x=1.0, 2.5 eV for x=0.7, 2.6 eV for x=0.5, 2.7 eV for x=0.3 and 2.8 eV for x=0.1. Oxygen could be evolved over Cd2SnO4 under the irradiation of Xe-lamp or even visible light (λ>420 nm), while the others could only work in the UV-light range. Raman showed the cation distribution in Cd2SnO4 is ordered, while that in the others is disordered. The cations distribution was proposed to be the cause of the difference in photocatalytic O2-evolution activities.  相似文献
