A polynomial-time algorithm,based on Newton's method,for linear programming   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
A new interior method for linear programming is presented and a polynomial time bound for it is proven. The proof is substantially different from those given for the ellipsoid algorithm and for Karmarkar's algorithm. Also, the algorithm is conceptually simpler than either of those algorithms.This research was supported by an NSF Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and by NSF Grant 8120790. The interior proximal extragradient method for solving equilibrium problems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In this article we present a new and efficient method for solving equilibrium problems on polyhedra. The method is based on an interior-quadratic proximal term which replaces the usual quadratic proximal term. This leads to an interior proximal type algorithm. Each iteration consists in a prediction step followed by a correction step as in the extragradient method. In a first algorithm each of these steps is obtained by solving an unconstrained minimization problem, while in a second algorithm the correction step is replaced by an Armijo-backtracking linesearch followed by an hyperplane projection step. We prove that our algorithms are convergent under mild assumptions: pseudomonotonicity for the two algorithms and a Lipschitz property for the first one. Finally we present some numerical experiments to illustrate the behavior of the proposed algorithms.  相似文献

基于乘子交替方向法(ADMM)和序列二次规划(SQP)方法思想, 致力于研究线 性约束两分块非凸优化的新型高效算法. 首先, 以SQP思想为主线, 在其二次规划(QP)子问题的求解中引入ADMM思想, 将QP分解为两个相互独立的小规模QP求解. 其次, 借助增广拉格朗日函数和Armijo线搜索产生原始变量新迭代点. 最后, 以显式解析式更新对偶变量. 因此, 构建了一个新型ADMM-SQP算法. 在较弱条件下, 分析了算法通常意义下的全局收敛性, 并对算法进行了初步的数值试验.  相似文献

The paper proposes a new shrinking gradient-like projection method for solving equilibrium problems. The algorithm combines the generalized gradient-like projection method with the monotone hybrid method. Only one optimization program is solved onto the feasible set at each iteration in our algorithm without any extra-step dealing with the feasible set. The absence of an optimization problem in the algorithm is explained by constructing slightly different cutting-halfspace in the monotone hybrid method. Theorem of strong convergence is established under standard assumptions imposed on equilibrium bifunctions. An application of the proposed algorithm to multivalued variational inequality problems (MVIP) is presented. Finally, another algorithm is introduced for MVIPs in which we only use a value of main operator at the current approximation to construct the next approximation. Some preliminary numerical experiments are implemented to illustrate the convergence and computational performance of our algorithms over others.  相似文献

We describe an infeasible interior point algorithm for convex minimization problems. The method uses quasi-Newton techniques for approximating the second derivatives and providing superlinear convergence. We propose a new feasibility control of the iterates by introducing shift variables and by penalizing them in the barrier problem. We prove global convergence under standard conditions on the problem data, without any assumption on the behavior of the algorithm.  相似文献

We propose a quadratically convergent algorithm for computing the invariant subspaces of an Hermitian matrix. Each iteration of the algorithm consists of one matrix-matrix multiplication and one QR decomposition. We present an accurate convergence analysis of the algorithm without using the big O notation. We also propose a general framework based on implicit rational transformations which allows us to make connections with several existing algorithms and to derive classes of extensions to our basic algorithm with faster convergence rates. Several numerical examples are given which compare some aspects of the existing algorithms and the new algorithms.  相似文献

A new smoothing function of the well-known Fischer–Burmeister function is given. Based on this new function, a smoothing Newton-type method is proposed for solving second-order cone programming. At each iteration, the proposed algorithm solves only one system of linear equations and performs only one line search. This algorithm can start from an arbitrary point and it is Q-quadratically convergent under a mild assumption. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose and analyze a new conic trust-region algorithm for solving the unconstrained optimization problems. A new strategy is proposed to construct the conic model and the relevant conic trust-region subproblems are solved by an approximate solution method. This approximate solution method is not only easy to implement but also preserves the strong convergence properties of the exact solution methods. Under reasonable conditions, the locally linear and superlinear convergence of the proposed algorithm is established. The new trust region subproblem with the conic model was proposed in 2005, and was divided into three different cases. The first two cases can be converted into a quadratic model or a convex problem with quadratic constraints, while the third one is a nonconvex problem. In this paper, first we analyze the nonconvex problem, and reduce it to two convex problems. Then we discuss some dual properties of these problems and give an algorithm for solving them. At last, we present an algorithm for solving the new trust region subproblem with the conic model and report some numerical examples to illustrate the efficiency of the algorithm.  相似文献

In this work we present and analyze a new scaled conjugate gradient algorithm and its implementation, based on an interpretation of the secant equation and on the inexact Wolfe line search conditions. The best spectral conjugate gradient algorithm SCG by Birgin and Martínez (2001), which is mainly a scaled variant of Perry’s (1977), is modified in such a manner to overcome the lack of positive definiteness of the matrix defining the search direction. This modification is based on the quasi-Newton BFGS updating formula. The computational scheme is embedded in the restart philosophy of Beale–Powell. The parameter scaling the gradient is selected as spectral gradient or in an anticipative manner by means of a formula using the function values in two successive points. In very mild conditions it is shown that, for strongly convex functions, the algorithm is global convergent. Preliminary computational results, for a set consisting of 500 unconstrained optimization test problems, show that this new scaled conjugate gradient algorithm substantially outperforms the spectral conjugate gradient SCG algorithm. In this paper,a new globally convergent algorithm for nonlinear optimization prablems with equality and inequality constraints is presented. The new algorithm is of SQP type which determines a search direction by solving a quadratic programming subproblem per itera-tion. Some revisions on the quadratic programming subproblem have been made in such a way that the associated constraint region is nonempty for each point x generated by the algorithm, i. e. , the subproblems always have optimal solutions. The new algorithm has two important properties. For unconstrained optimization, an inexact Newton algorithm is proposed recently, in which the preconditioned conjugate gradient method is applied to solve the Newton equations. In this paper, we improve this algorithm by efficiently using automatic differentiation and establish a new inexact Newton algorithm. Based on the efficiency coefficient defined by Brent, a theoretical efficiency ratio of the new algorithm to the old algorithm is introduced. It has been shown that this ratio is greater than 1, which implies that the new algorithm is always more efficient than the old one. Furthermore, this improvement is significant at least for some cases. This theoretical conclusion is supported by numerical experiments.   相似文献

In this article, we analyze the precedence diagramming method, the only published algorithm for time-only project scheduling with activity splitting allowed. The criteria used in this method (forward and backward pass computations) for deciding when an activity has to be interrupted are shown to be invalid in some situations. We look into the causes of these failures and propose new formulae that always provide feasible solutions. The new algorithm has been tested on 240 randomly generated problems ranging up to 600 activities and 7,200 precedence relationships, resulting in an average deviation from optima of less than 1 percent.  相似文献

本文对非线性规划问题给出了一个具有一步超线性收敛速度的可行方法。由于此算法每步迭代均在可行域内进行,并且每步迭代只需计算一个二次子规划和一个逆矩阵,因而算法具有较好的实用价值。本文还在较弱的条件下证明了算法的全局收敛和一步超线性收敛性。  相似文献
