Summary: A poly(aspartic acid)‐block‐polylactide (PAsp‐block‐PLA) diblock copolymer was synthesized through the polymerization of β‐benzyl‐L ‐aspartate‐N‐carboxyanhydride [Asp(OBzl)‐NCA] with amino‐terminating polylactide (NH2‐PLA) as a macroinitiator. The chain length of the PAsp segment could be easily controlled by changing the monomer/initiator ratio. Dynamic light scattering measurements of PAsp‐block‐PLA aqueous solutions revealed the formation of polymeric micelles. Changes in the micelles as a function of pH were investigated.

AB block copolymers composed of hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and hydrophobic poly(amino acid) with a carboxyl group at the end of PEG were synthesized with α‐carboxylic sodium‐ω‐amino‐PEG as a macroinitiator for the ring‐opening polymerization of N‐carboxy anhydride. Characterizations by 1H NMR, IR, and gel permeation chromatography were carried out to confirm that the diblock copolymers were formed. In aqueous media this copolymer formed self‐associated polymer micelles that have a carboxyl group on the surface. The carboxyl groups located at the outer shell of the polymeric micelle were expected to combine with ligands to target specific cell populations. The diameter of the polymer micelles was in the range of 30–80 nm. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 42: 3527–3536, 2004  相似文献

Dissipative particle dynamics simulation was applied to investigate the self-assembly of new segmented random-block copolymers (A-co-B)-b-B in selective solvents. The coarse-grained models of random-block copolymers were built. The effects of the composition of the copolymer, the interaction parameters, the volume fractions, as well as the ratio of hydrophilic particles to hydrophobic particles in the random segment, on the morphology of the aggregations were systematically investigated. The results showed that new segmented random-block copolymers (A-co-B)-b-B could self-assemble into rodlike micelle, spherical micelle and two-compartment micelle. Oval-shaped micelle and spherical micelle could be formed at different volume fractions. The simulation results provide an important reference to the design and synthesis of specific micelles.  相似文献

Poly[(L-histidine)-co-(L-phenylalanine)]-block-poly(ethylene glycol) (HF-b-PEG) diblock copolymers were synthesized to be used for preparation of pH-sensitive polymeric micelles. First, HF block was synthesized by ring opening copolymerization of L-histidine and L-phenylalanine N-carboxyanhydride, and then the resulting copolymer was coupled with PEG. The pKa value of diblock copolymer can be controlled by adjusting the histidine/phenylalanine ratio in HF block. It is observed that the block copolymers form micelles in aqueous media and that the micelles are spherical in shape with a unimodal distribution. The micelle is formed at pH higher than pKa of block copolymer while it is not formed at lower pH. This is because the protonation of histidine residue in the HF block converts the hydrophobic core into hydrophilic one at lower pH. Amphiphilic AB‐type diblock copolymers composed of hydrophobic poly(L ‐lactide) (PLA) segments and hydrophilic poly(glycolic acid lysine) [poly(Glc‐Lys)] segments with amino side‐chain groups self‐associated to form PLA‐based polymeric micelles with amino surfaces in an aqueous solution. The average diameter of the loose core–shell polymeric micelles for poly(Glc‐Lys) [number‐average molecular weight (Mn) = 1240]‐b‐PLA (Mn = 7000) obtained by a dimethyl sulfoxide/water dialysis method was estimated to be about 50 nm in water by dynamic light scattering measurements. The size and shape of the obtained polymeric micelles were further observed with transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. To investigate the possibility of applying the obtained PLA‐based polymeric micelles as bioabsorbable vehicles for hydrophobic drugs, we tested the entrapment of drugs in poly(Glc‐Lys) (Mn = 1240)‐b‐PLA (Mn = 7000) micelles and their release with doxorubicin as a hydrophobic drug. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Amphiphilic triblock copolymers of poly(methyl methacrylate)-b-poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA-b-PEO-b-PMMA) with well-defined structure were synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methyl methacrylate (MMA) initiated by the PEO macroinitiator. The macroinitiator and triblock copolymer with different PMMA and/or PEO block lengths were characterized with 1H and 13C NMR and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The micelle formed by these triblock copolymers in aqueous solutions was detected by fluorescence excitation and emission spectra of pyrene probe. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) ranged from 0.0019 to 0.016 mg/mL and increased with increasing PMMA block length, while the PEO block length had less effect on the CMC. The partition constant Kv for pyrene in the micelle and in aqueous solution was about 105. The triblock copolymer appeared to form the micelles with hydrophobic PMMA core and hydrophilic PEO loop chain corona. The hydrodynamic radius Rh,app of the micelle measured with dynamic light scattering (DLS) ranged from 17.3 to 24.0 nm and increased with increasing PEO block length to form thicker corona. The spherical shape of the micelle of the triblock copolymers was observed with an atomic force microscope (AFM). Increasing hydrophobic PMMA block length effectively promoted the micelle formation in aqueous solutions, but the micelles were stable even only with short PMMA blocks.  相似文献

A novel thermo-responsive diblock copolymer of poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone)-block-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNVP-b-PNIPAM) was synthesized. FT-IR, 1H-NMR and SEC results confirmed the successful synthesis of PNVP-b-PNIPAM diblock copolymer via anionic polymerization. The polymeric micelles formed from PNVP-b-PNIPAM copolymer in aqueous solution were developed and characterized as a potential thermo-responsive and biocompatible drug delivery system. Micellization of the diblock copolymer in aqueous solution was characterized by dynamic laser scattering (DLS), turbidity measurement, tension measurement and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The thermo-responsive polymeric micelles with the size ranges of 200 to 260 nm and thickness of 30 nm are localized, selected and targeted for drug release, having a great potential in response to external-stimulus such as temperatures from 35 to 39°C. The critical micellization concentration (cmc) of PNVP-b-PNIPAM in aqueous solution is 0.0026 wt% determined by turbidity measurement. The size of micelles determined by DLS increased from 163 to 329 nm with increasing concentration of PNVP-b-PNIPAM from 0.25 to 0.5 wt% in aqueous solution at 40°C, which is determined by DLS.  相似文献

Amphiphilic diblock and triblock copolymers of various block compositions based on hydrophilic poly(2‐ethyl‐2‐oxazoline) (PEtOz) and hydrophobic poly(ε‐caprolactone) were synthesized. The micelle formation of these block copolymers in aqueous media was confirmed by a fluorescence technique and dynamic light scattering. The critical micelle concentrations ranged from 35.5 to 4.6 mg/L for diblock copolymers and 4.7 to 9.0 mg/L for triblock copolymers, depending on the block composition. The phase‐transition behaviors of the block copolymers in concentrated aqueous solutions were investigated. When the temperature was increased, aqueous solutions of diblock and triblock copolymers exhibited gel–sol transition and precipitation, both of which were thermally reversible. The gel–sol transition‐ and precipitation temperatures were manipulated by adjustment of the block composition. As the hydrophobic portion of block copolymers became higher, a larger gel region was generated. In the presence of sodium chloride, the phase transitions were shifted to a lower temperature level. Sodium thiocyanate displaced the gel region and precipitation temperatures to a higher temperature level. The low molecular weight saccharides, such as glucose and maltose, contributed to the shift of phase‐transition temperatures to a lower temperature level, where glucose was more effective than maltose in lowering the gel–sol transition temperatures. The malonic acid that formed hydrogen bonds with the PEtOz shell of micelles was effective in lowering phase‐transition temperatures to 1.0M, above which concentration the block copolymer solutions formed complex precipitates. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Thermosensitive polylactide‐block‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (t‐PLA‐b‐PNIPAAm) tri‐armed star block copolymers were synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of monomer NIPAAm using t‐PLA‐Cl as macroinitiator. The synthesis of t‐PLA‐Cl was accomplished by esterification of star polylactides (t‐PLA) with 2‐chloropropionyl chloride using trimethylolpropane as a center molecule. FT‐IR, 1H NMR, and GPC analyses confirmed that the t‐PLA‐b‐PNIPAAm star block copolymers had well‐defined structure and controlled molecular weights. The block copolymers could form core‐shell micelle nanoparticles due to their hydrophilic‐hydrophobic trait in aqueous media, and the critical micelle concentrations (CMC) were from 6.7 to 32.9 mg L?1, depending on the system composition. The as‐prepared micelle nanoparticles showed reversible phase changes in transmittance with temperature: transparent below low critical solution temperature (LCST) and opaque above the LCST. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations revealed that the micelle nanoparticles were spherical in shape with core‐shell structure. The hydrodynamic diameters of the micelle nanoparticles depended on copolymer compositions, micelle concentrations and media. MTT assays were conducted to evaluate cytotoxicity of the camptothecin‐loaded copolymer micelles. Camptothecin drug release studies showed that the copolymer micelles exhibited thermo‐triggered targeting drug release behavior, and thus had potential application values in drug controlled delivery. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two chiral amphiphilic diblock copolymers with different relative lengths of the hydrophobic and hydrophilic blocks, poly(6‐O‐p‐vinylbenzyl‐1,2:3,4‐Di‐O‐isopropylidene‐D ‐galactopyranose)‐b‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) or poly(VBCPG)‐b‐poly(NIPAAM) and poly(20‐(hydroxymethyl)‐pregna‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one methacrylate)‐b‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) or poly(MAC‐HPD)‐b‐poly(NIPAAM) were synthesized via consecutive reversible addition‐fragmentation chain‐transfer polymerizations of VBCPG or MAC‐HPD and NIPAAM. The chemical structures of these diblock copolymers were characterized by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. These amphiphilic diblock copolymers could self‐assemble into micelles in aqueous solution, and the morphologies of micelles were investigated by transmission electron microscopy. By comparison with the lower critical solution temperatures (LCST) of poly(NIPAAM) homopolymer in deionized water (32 °C), a higher LCST of the chiral amphiphilic diblock copolymer (poly(VBCPG)‐b‐poly(NIPAAM)) was observed and the LCST increased with the relative length of the poly(VBCPG) block in the copolymer from 35 to 47 °C, respectively. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Water‐soluble crosslinked hollow nanoparticles were prepared using pH‐responsive anionic polymer micelles as templates. The template micelles were formed from pH‐responsive diblock copolymers (PAMPS‐PAaH) composed of the poly(sodium 2‐(acrylamido)‐2‐methylpropanesulfonate) and poly(6‐(acrylamido)hexanoic acid) blocks in an aqueous acidic solution. The PAMPS and PAaH blocks form a hydrophilic anionic shell and hydrophobic core of the core‐shell polymer micelle, respectively. A cationic diblock copolymer (PEG‐P(APTAC/CEA)) with the poly(ethylene glycol) block and random copolymer block composed of poly((3‐acrylamidopropyl)trimethylammonium chloride) containing a small amount of the 2‐(cinnamoyl)ethylacrylate photo‐crosslinkable unit can be adsorbed to the anionic shell of the template micelle due to electrostatic interaction, which form a core‐shell‐corona three‐layered micelle. The shell of the core‐shell‐corona micelle is formed from a polyion complex with anionic PAMPS and cationic P(APTAC/CEA) chains. The P(APTAC/CEA) chains in the shell of the core‐shell‐corona micelle can be photo‐crosslinked with UV irradiation. The template micelle can be dissociated using NaOH, because the PAaH blocks are ionized. Furthermore, electrostatic interactions between PAMPS and PAPTAC in the shell are screened by adding excess NaCl in water. The template micelles can be completely removed by dialysis against water containing NaOH and NaCl to prepare the crosslinked hollow nanoparticles. Transmission electron microscopy observations confirmed the hollow structure. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2012  相似文献

Several series of amphiphilic diblock copolymers are investigated as macrosurfactants in comparison to reference low-molar-mass and polymeric surfactants. The various copolymers share poly(butyl acrylate) as a common hydrophobic block but are distinguished by six different hydrophilic blocks (one anionic, one cationic, and four nonionic hydrophilic blocks) with various compositions. Dynamic light scattering experiments indicate the presence of micelles over the whole concentration range from 10(-4) to 10 g x L(-1). Accordingly, the critical micellization concentrations are very low. Still, the surface tension of aqueous solutions of block copolymers decreases slowly but continuously with increasing concentration, without exhibiting a plateau. The longer the hydrophobic block, the shorter the hydrophilic block, and the less hydrophilic the monomer of the hydrophilic block is, the lower the surface tension is. However, the effects are small, and the copolymers reduce the surface tension much less than standard low-molar-mass surfactants. Also, the copolymers foam much less and even act as anti-foaming agents in classical foaming systems composed of standard surfactants. The copolymers stabilize O/W emulsions made of methyl palmitate as equally well as standard surfactants but are less efficient for O/W emulsions made of tributyrine. However, the copolymer micelles exhibit a high solubilization power for hydrophobic dyes, probably at their core-corona interface, in dependence on the initial geometry of the micelles and the composition of the block copolymers. Whereas micelles of copolymers with strongly hydrophilic blocks are stable upon solubilization, solubilization-induced micellar growth is observed for copolymers with moderately hydrophilic blocks.  相似文献

A block copolymer of hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) and a hydrophobic poly(alkylene oxide) can associate in dilute aqueous solution to form micelles. The results of recent investigations of the micellisation behaviour and micelle properties of such copolymers are described. Copolymers of ethylene oxide with propylene oxide, 1,2‐butylene oxide or styrene oxide are considered, including aspects of their preparation. Experimental methods for determination of critical conditions for micellisation, micelle association number and spherical‐micelle radius are summarised. Effects of temperature, composition, block length and block architecture (diblock, triblock and cyclic‐diblock) are described and, where possible, related to the predictions of theory. Brief consideration is given to the dynamics of micelle formation/dissociation, to cylindrical micelles, and to effects of added salts.  相似文献

Thermo-responsive polymeric micelles of poly (ethylene glycol)-b-poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-g-lactide)-b-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PEG-P(HEMA-PLA)-PNIPAM) with core–shell–corona structure were fabricated for applications in controlled drug release. The graft copolymer of PEG-P(HEMA-PLA)-PNIPAM was self-assembled into core–shell micelles with a densely PLA core and mixed PEG/PNIPAM shells at 25 °C in aqueous media. By increasing the temperature above the lower critical solution temperature of PNIPAM, these core–shell micelles could be converted into core–shell–corona micelles because of the collapse of PNIPAM block on the PLA core as the inner shell and the soluble PEG block stretching outside as the outer corona. Anticancer drug doxorubicin (DOX) was loaded in the polymeric micelles as a model drug. Compared with polymeric micelles formed by liner PEG-b-PLA-b-PNIPAM triblock copolymer, these polymeric micelles exhibited higher loading capacity, and release of DOX from the polymeric micelles with core–shell–corona structure was well-controlled.  相似文献

We followed the self-assembly of high-molecular weight MePEG- b -PCL (poly(methyl ethylene glycol)-block-poly(ε-caprolactone)) diblock and MePEG- b -PBO- b -PCL (poly(methyl ethylene glycol)-block-poly(1,2-butylene oxide)-block-poly(ε-caprolactone)) into micelles using molecular dynamics simulation with a coarse grain (CG) force field based on quantum mechanics (CGq FF). The triblock polymer included a short poly(1,2-butylene oxide) (PBO) at the hydrophilic-hydrophobic interface of these systems. Keeping the hydrophilic length fixed (MePEG45), we considered 250 chains in which the hydrophobic length changed from PCL44 or PBO6- b -PCL43 to PCL62 or PBO9- b -PCL61. The polymers were solvated in explicit water for 2 μs of simulations at 310.15 K. We found that the longer diblock system undergoes a morphological transition from an intermediate rod-like micelle to a prolate-sphere, while the micelle formed from the longer triblock system is a stable rod-like micelle. The two shorter diblock and triblock systems show similar self-assembly processes, both resulting in slightly prolate-spheres. The dynamics of the self-assembly is quantified in terms of chain radius of gyration, shape anisotropy, and hydration of the micelle cores. The final micelle structures are analyzed in terms of the local density components. We conclude that the CG model accurately describes the molecular mechanisms of self-assembly and the equilibrium micellar structures of hydrophilic and hydrophobic chains, including the quantity of solvent trapped inside the micellar core.  相似文献

The self-assembly of functionalized polycaprolactone amphiphilic diblock copolymers is explored for carrier-mediated doxorubicin delivery for cancer treatment. In this report, functionalized polycaprolactone-based amphiphilic block copolymers with controlled branching architecture are investigated. Star-like copolymers, namely 4-arm and 6-arm poly(γ-benzyloxy-ε-caprolactone)-b-poly{γ-2-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy]ethoxy-ε-caprolactone} (PBCL-b-PMEEECL) were synthesized by living ring-opening block copolymerization (ROP) of γ-(2-benzyloxy)-ε-caprolactone and γ-2-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy]ethoxy-ε-caprolactone using multifunctional initiators. A systematic investigation of the effect of branching points on polymer properties and micellar carrier properties was carried out. The star-like PBCL-b-PMEEECL micelles displayed better thermodynamic stability, size reduction, and enhanced doxorubicin encapsulation than the linear PBCL-b-PMEEECL. Furthermore, the π–π stacking between the benzyl group of the hydrophobic PBCL core and the doxorubicin, the anti-cancer drug, also increases the stability and loading capacity of the micelles. The star-polymers display tunable thermoresponsivity in the range of 40–42°C. When the DOX-loaded micelles are accumulated in the tumor, the shell of the polymeric micelles dehydrates upon heating (at a temperature above its LCST), causing disassembling of the micelles and releasing of DOX. Compared with DOX-loaded linear and 4-arm micelles, DOX-loaded 6-arm micelles exhibited higher in vitro anti-tumor activity. Thus, the 6-arm benzyl substituted polycaprolactone-based micellar systems are promising candidates for drug delivery applications.  相似文献

We prepared well‐defined diblock copolymers of thermoresponsive poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide‐coN,N‐dimethylacrylamide) blocks and biodegradable poly(D ,L ‐lactide) blocks by combination of reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer radical (RAFT) polymerization and ring‐opening polymerization. α‐Hydroxyl, ω‐dithiobenzoate thermoresponsive polymers were synthesized by RAFT polymerization using hydroxyl RAFT agents. Biodegradable blocks were prepared by ring‐opening polymerization of D ,L ‐lactide initiated by α‐hydroxyl groups of thermoresponsive polymers, which inhibit the thermal decomposition of ω‐dithioester groups. Terminal dithiobenzoate (DTBz) groups of thermoresponsive blocks were easily reduced to thiol groups and reacted with maleimide (Mal). In aqueous media, diblock copolymer products formed surface‐functionalized thermoresponsive micelles. These polymeric micelles had a low critical micelle concentration of 22 μg/L. In thermoresponsive studies of the micelles, hydrophobic DTBz‐surface micelles demonstrated a significant shift in lower critical solution temperature (LCST) to a lower temperature of 30.7 °C than that for Mal‐surface micelles (40.0 °C). In addition, micellar LCST was controlled by changing bulk mixture ratios of respective heterogeneous end‐functional diblock copolymers. Micellar disruption at acidic condition (pH 5.0) was completed within 5 days due to hydrolytic degradation of PLA cores, regardless of showing a slow disruption rate at physiological condition. Furthermore, we successfully improved water‐solubility of hydrophobic drug, paclitaxel by incorporating into the micellar cores. © Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report on the fabrication of self-assembled micelles from ABC-type miktoarm star polypeptide hybrid copolymers consisting of poly(ethylene oxide), poly(L-lysine), and poly(ε-caprolactone) arms, PEO(-b-PLL)-b-PCL, and their functional applications as co-delivery nanocarriers of chemotherapeutic drugs and plasmid DNA. Miktoarm star copolymer precursors, PEO(-b-PZLL)-b-PCL, were synthesized at first via the combination of consecutive "click" reactions and ring-opening polymerizations (ROP), where PZLL is poly(ε-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-lysine). Subsequently, the deprotection of PZLL arm afforded amphiphilic miktoarm star copolymers, PEO(-b-PLL)-b-PCL. In aqueous media at pH 7.4, PEO(-b-PLL)-b-PCL self-assembles into micelles consisting of PCL cores and hydrophilic PEO/PLL hybrid coronas. The hydrophobic micellar cores can effectively encapsulate model hydrophobic anticancer drug, paclitaxel; whereas positively charged PLL arms within mixed micellar corona are capable of forming electrostatic polyplexes with negatively charged plasmid DNA (pDNA) at N/P ratios higher than ca. 2. Thus, PEO(-b-PLL)-b-PCL micelles can act as co-delivery nanovehicles for both chemotherapeutic drugs and genes. Furthermore, polyplexes of pDNA with paclitaxel-loaded PEO(-b-PLL)-b-PCL micelles exhibited improved transfection efficiency compared to that of pDNA/blank micelles. We expect that the reported strategy of varying chain topologies for the fabrication of co-delivery polymeric nanocarriers can be further applied to integrate with other advantageous functions such as targeting, imaging, and diagnostics.  相似文献

Cationic amphiphilic diblock copolymers of poly(n-butylacrylate)-b-poly(3-(methacryloylamino)propyl)trimethylammonium chloride) (PBA-b-PMAPTAC) with various hydrophobic and hydrophilic chain lengths were synthesized by a reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) process. Their molecular characteristics such as surface activity/nonactivity were investigated by surface tension measurements and foam formation observation. Their micelle formation behavior and micelle structure were investigated by fluorescence probe technique, static and dynamic light scattering (SLS and DLS), etc., as a function of hydrophilic and hydrophobic chain lengths. The block copolymers were found to be non-surface active because the surface tension of the aqueous solutions did not change with increasing polymer concentration. Critical micelle concentration (cmc) of the polymers could be determined by fluorescence and SLS measurements, which means that these polymers form micelles in bulk solution, although they were non-surface active. Above the cmc, the large blue shift of the emission maximum of N-phenyl-1-naphthylamine (NPN) probe and the low micropolarity value of the pyrene probe in polymer solution indicate the core of the micelle is nonpolar in nature. Also, the high value of the relative intensity of the NPN probe and the fluorescence anisotropy of the 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH) probe indicated that the core of the micelle is highly viscous in nature. DLS was used to measure the average hydrodynamic radii and size distribution of the copolymer micelles. The copolymer with the longest PBA block had the poorest water solubility and consequently formed micelles with larger size while having a lower cmc. The "non-surface activity" was confirmed for cationic amphiphilic diblock copolymers in addition to anionic ones studied previously, indicating the universality of non-surface activity nature.  相似文献

Amphiphilic diblock copolymers with various block compositions were synthesized on poly(2‐ethyl‐2‐oxazoline) (PEtOz) as a hydrophilic block and poly(4‐methyl‐ε‐caprolactone) (PMCL) or poly(4‐phenyl‐ε‐caprolactone) (PBCL) as a hydrophobic block. These PEtOz‐b‐PMCL and PEtOz‐b‐PBCL copolymers consisting of soft domains of amorphous PEtOz and PM(B)CL had no melting endothermal peaks but displayed Tg. The lower critical solution temperature (LCST) values for the PEtOz‐b‐PMCL, and the PEtOz‐b‐PBCL aqueous solution were observed to shift to lower temperature than PEtOz homopolymers. Their aqueous solutions were characterized using fluorescence techniques and dynamic light scattering (DLS). The block copolymers formed micelles with critical micelle concentrations (CMCs) in the range 0.6–11.1 mg L?1 in an aqueous phase. As the length of the hydrophobic PMCL or PBCL blocks elongated, lower CMC values were generated. The mean diameters of the micelles were between 127 and 318 nm, with PDI in the range of 0.06–0.21, suggesting nearly monodisperse size distributions. The drug entrapment efficiency and drug‐loading content of micelles depend on block polymer compositions. In vitro cell viability assay showed that PEtOz‐b‐PMCL has low cytotoxicity. Doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX)‐loaded micelles facilitated human cervical cancer (HeLa) cell uptake of DOX; uptake was completed within 2 h, and DOX was able to reach intracellular compartments and enter the nuclei by endocytosis. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
