报道了在调Q的Nd∶YAG激光器泵浦下用Z扫描技术对具有分子内质子转移(ESIPT)特性的分子2(2′羟基苯基)间氮杂氧茚(HBO)的光学非线性的研究。结果表明:对1.06μm的光,HBO无非线性吸收,其三阶非线性极化率不随入射光强而变;而在0.53μm的激光作用下,HBO表现出显著的双光子吸收,其双光子吸收系数随泵浦光强增强而减小,而其三阶非线性极化率实部则随泵浦光强的增强而增大。在建立双光子泵浦产生激发态分子内质子转移动态模型的基础上,通过理论计算很好地解释了实验现象  相似文献

All-optical switching and beam deflection of 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl) benzoxazole (HBO) in three species of solvent (cyclohexane, ethanol and dimethyl sulfoxide) have been investigated by using third-harmonic generation (355 nm) of a mode-locked Nd:YAG laser as a pump beam and a continuous-wave He-Ne laser (632.8 nm) as a probe beam. The nonlinear refractive indices of HBO in different solvents are determined by using the Z-scan technique. The optical switching and beam-deflection effects are due to the change of the refractive index of HBO under the pump beam. Through the study of the absorption spectra and the fluorescence spectra of HBO in different solvents, we conclude that the principal reason for the change of the refractive index of HBO is not the thermal effect because of absorption of the pump beam, but the excited-state intramolecular proton-transfer (ESIPT) effect of HBO under the pump beam. As the ESIPT process is very fast, HBO might be an excellent material for high-speed optical switching. Magnetic resonance imaging of burn injury in rats.   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In-vivo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies have been performed to follow pathological changes induced by 3-sec and 10-second burns on eleven rat tails. T1-weighted, T2-weighted, density-weighted, and water-suppressed images were acquired immediately after and four days following thermal injury. MRI results were correlated with histology. For 3-sec burns, both edema and lipids contributed significantly to the hyperintensity seen on MRI at the site of injury. For 10-sec burns, edema was the major contributor to hyperintensity. Quantitative comparisons indicated the intensity and spatial extent of the edema signal to be most indicative of the degree of injury. MRI also demonstrated potential in determining coagulation necrosis and lipid accumulation at burn sites. These studies indicate the potential of MRI in diagnosing and monitoring burn injuries and therapies.  相似文献

Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) is a rare disorder caused by the obstruction of hepatic venous outflow, leading to sinusoidal congestion, ischemic injury to liver cells and portal hypertension. Long-term survival largely depends on whether hepatocellular carcinoma occurs. A recently available liver-specific contrast medium, gadolinium-ethoxybenzyl-diethylenetriamine penta-acetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA), reportedly has high diagnostic capability for detection of malignant liver tumors. However, there has been no report of the sue of Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for BCS. We present a case of chronic BCS who underwent both gadopentetate dimeglumine (Gd-DTPA) and Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI. Hepatic congestion and edema were seen as slightly hypointense areas on Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced hepatobiliary-phase images, although these areas were observed as slightly hyperintense on previously obtained Gd-DTPA-enhanced delayed-phase image. Reduced uptake of Gd-EOB-DTPA by hepatocytes in the region of congestion or edema may account for this difference, which should be recognized in image interpretations.  相似文献

报道了在氮分子激光泵浦下,激发态分子内质子转移分子2-(2'-羟基苯基)间氮杂氧茚(HBO)环乙烷溶液放大的自发辐射(ASE)实验和理论研究。在环己烷溶液中,HBO的增益系数α(510um)约为1.2cm-1。在建立了HBO激发态分子内质子转移(ESIPT)的放大的自发辐射动态模型基础上,通过数值模拟得到了HBO的增益光谱和放大的自发辐射光谱,计算结果与实验很好相符,证实了HBO的酮式异构体的基态寿命更接近于260ns而非亚纳秒级。  相似文献

In the traumatically injured spinal cord, decreased perfusion is believed to contribute to secondary tissue damage beyond the primary mechanical impact, and restoration of perfusion is believed to be a promising therapeutic target. However, methods to monitor spinal cord perfusion non-invasively are limited. Perfusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques established for the brain have not been routinely adopted to the spinal cord. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between spinal cord blood flow (SCBF) and injury severity in a rat thoracic spinal cord contusion injury (SCI) model using flow-sensitive alternating inversion recovery (FAIR) with two variants of the label position. SCBF as a marker of severity was compared to T1 mapping and to spinal cord-optimized diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) with filtered parallel apparent diffusion coefficient. Thirty-eight rats underwent a T10 contusion injury with varying severities (8 sham; 10 mild; 10 moderate; 10 severe) with MRI performed at 1 day post injury at the lesion site and follow-up neurological assessments using the Basso, Beattie, Bresnahan (BBB) locomotor scoring up to 28 days post injury. Using whole-cord regions of interest at the lesion epicenter, SCBF was decreased with injury severity and had a significant correlation with BBB scores at 28 days post injury. Importantly, estimates of arterial transit times (ATT) in the injured spinal cord were not altered after injury, which suggests that FAIR protocols optimized to measure SCBF provide more value in the context of acute traumatic injury to the cord. T1-relaxation time constants were strongly related to injury severity and had a larger extent of changes than either SCBF or DWI measures. These findings suggest that perfusion decreases in the spinal cord can be monitored non-invasively after injury, and multi-parametric MRI assessments of perfusion, diffusion, and relaxation capture unique features of the pathophysiology of preclinical injury.  相似文献

灵长类大脑在结构、生理、功能及神经学上与人类大脑非常相似. 因此,灵长类中风模型为研究大脑缺血的损伤机制和开发各种药物治疗方法提供了理想的动物模型. 该文介绍了近年来使用的各种灵长类中风模型,并总结了目前可用于该模型的各种磁共振成像(MRI)方法. 同时,还讨论了灵长类动物高分辩弥散张量成像(DTI)和磁共振灌注成像(PWI)的数据采集方法和心跳及呼吸引起的生理运动伪影的矫正方法. 这些方法改进了弥散一灌注失配(DWI-PWI MISMATCH)成像的精度和质量,有助于提高对脑缺血半暗带演化及其对药物治疗反应的精确评估,为更好地利用灵长类脑中风模型和当代磁共振成像技术进行中风机制研究和药物开发建立一个理想的研究平台.  相似文献

Energies and oscillator strengths of vertical transitions for various rotameric and tautomeric species of 2-(2′-hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazole (HBO), 2,5-bis(2-benzoxazolyl)phenol (DBP) and 2,5-bis(2-benzoxazolyl)hydroquinone (BBHQ) have been calculated in the ground and first excited states with the use of TDDFT methods. The TDDFT results demonstrate good correspondence to the frequencies of absorption and fluorescence bands of the benzoxazoles reported for measurements in supersonic jets and solution, but fail to predict relative energies of the enol and keto tautomers of DBP and BBHQ in the excited state. Low intensity of the fluorescence bands attributed to the conformations of HBO and DBP that do not undergo excited state proton transfer is shown to be caused by low concentrations of the conformations in the ground state. For the three compounds large-amplitude twisting of the keto tautomer is found to be one of radiationless processes resulting in decrease of the fluorescence with a large Stokes shift.  相似文献

Exposure of adult male mice to a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedure has been shown to abolish the nocturnal analgesic responses observed following treatment with morphine. The field component(s) responsible for this inhibitory effect were examined by exposing mice to either the static, time-varying or rf magnetic field components associated with an MRI procedure. In the middle of the night portion of their day-night cycle, mice were exposed for 23.2 min to one of the above field components, intraperitoneally injected with morphine sulphate (10 mg/kg) and then exposed to the field conditions for another 23.2 min, after which analgesic responses were determined. Analgesia was quantitated by determining the length of time mice were content to be on a hot surface (50 degrees C) before they showed discomfort by licking their paws. It was observed that the time-varying magnetic field completely abolished, the rf field significantly reduced, while the static field component (0.15 T) had no evident effect on morphine-induced analgesia. These results indicate that the time-varying, and to a lesser extent the rf, fields associated with the MRI procedure inhibit morphine-induced analgesia in mice. These data also raise the possibility that exposure in humans to some of the magnetic field components associated with MRI may have clinically relevant effects on the actions of narcotic drugs such as morphine.  相似文献

Background and Purpose

Susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) is sensitive to deoxyhemoglobin and blood products such as hemosiderin in detecting microbleeds in the brain. However, there are no studies on SWI in the spine cord injury so far. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of SWI in detecting hemorrhage in acute cervical spinal cord injury (SCI).

Materials and Methods

Twenty-three patients with a history of acute cervical spine trauma were studied. High-resolution SWI, gradient-echo (GRE) T2* weighted-image (T2*WI) and conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed on all patients within 15 days of the onset of injury. On the basis of the MRI findings, the patients were classified into four patterns: normal cord, spinal cord edema, spinal cord contusion and spinal cord hemorrhage. Quantitative analysis was performed by calculating and comparing the signal ratio of the hemorrhage to normal spinal cord on the same slice of T2*WI and SWI. All patients were clinically evaluated in follow-up. Twenty volunteers were also scanned as a control group.

Results

Out of 23 patients with a history of acute cervical spine trauma, 4 patients showed normal spinal cord on both conventional MRI and SWI, 8 had only spinal cord edema and 5 had contusion on conventional MRI, but SWI showed hemorrhage in 2 of the 5 patients with spinal contusion on conventional MRI; the other 6 patients had intraspinal hemorrhage on conventional MRI, and SWI proved hemorrhage in all these 6 patients. There was a significant difference between the signal ratios of hemorrhage to normal tissue on T2*WI and SWI (Z=2.34, P=.02).

Conclusion

Susceptibility weighted imaging is more sensitive than conventional MRI in detecting hemorrhage in acute cervical SCI. This technique could prove to be a useful tool in the routine evaluation of cervical SCI patients.  相似文献

主要介绍了几种脑功能核磁共振成像方法以及在精神疾病中的研究情况.血氧水平依赖fMRI (BOLD-fMRI)是目前应用最广泛的fMRI技术,可利用神经激活后对局部血流的影响,间接显示神经活动.灌注加权成像是直接测定脑血流的fMRI技术,但由于它的时间分辨率比较低,对快速的脑功能难以进行研究.扩散加权象目前主要用于脑缺血的早期诊断,利用该技术也可示踪神经通路.化学位移成像能够检测局部组织代谢产物的含量,可反映不同脑区能量和物质代谢的状况,也是一种脑功能的研究手段.尽管这些技术在神经、心理学领域已经取得非常可喜的进展,目前fMRI在精神疾病方面的工作较少,相信随着技术的改进,fMRI必将在精神疾病方面大显身手.  相似文献

We report two cases of rotator cuff tear in which the T(2)-weighted MRI signal was negative at the first examination, but positive by the second examination without any changes in symptoms. Many authors have reported on correlations between the MRI and operative findings of rotator cuff tears. However, MRI findings, history of symptoms and operative findings in our patients suggest that there was a discrepancy between symptoms and MRI findings dependent on the period from the injury. Operative findings also indicate that intratendinous tears might have occurred first in these patients then progressed to partial or full thickness tears over time. We concluded that physicians should keep rotator cuff pathology in mind even in patients whose MRI findings are negative but symptoms of rotator cuff tear persist.  相似文献

Quantification of the acute increases in blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability that occur subsequent to experimental ischemic injury has been limited to single time-point, invasive methodologies. Although permeability can be qualitatively assessed to visualise regional changes during sequential studies on the same animal using contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), quantitative information on the magnitude of change is required to compare barrier function during sequential studies on the same animal or between different animals. Recently, improvements in MRI tracer kinetic models and in MR hardware design mean that an estimate of permeability in vivo can now be obtained with acceptable accuracy and precision. We report here the use of such methods to study acute changes following spontaneous reperfusion in an animal model of ischemia. We have obtained estimates of BBB permeability following spontaneous reperfusion, subsequent to forebrain ischemia by unilateral carotid injection of starch microspheres in the rat. T2*-weighted and diffusion-trace imaging were used to monitor the initial reduction in CBF and the time-course of ischemia, respectively. Following reperfusion, an intraveneous bolus of dimeglumine gadopentetate (Gd-DTPA) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was given during a continuous acquisition of T1 maps with a 48 s temporal resolution. Permeability maps were constructed using a 4-compartment model; K(trans), the permeability-surface area product of the capillary walls was estimated to be 9.2 +/- 0.6 x 10(-4) min(-1) in the cortex. Visualisation of the regional extent of HRP extravasation on histological sections following termination of the experiment demonstrated very little correspondence to the region of Gd-DTPA leakage. Quantitative MRI assessment of BBB permeability following ischemia-reperfusion is consistent with published values obtained by invasive methods. Differences between Gd-DTPA-enhancement and HRP may reflect differences in the molecular size of the tracers.  相似文献

The localization of critical structures within the brain is important for the planning of therapeutic strategies. Functional MRI is capable to assess functional response of cortical structures to certain stimuli. The authors present two techniques for functional MRI (fMRI) in a stereotactic set-up. The skull of the patients has been immobilized for stereotactic treatment planning either with a self developed stereotactic ceramic frame and bony fixation or with an individual precision mask system made of light cast. It has been shown that this frame does not produce any image distortion. fMRI was performed using a modified FLASH sequence on a conventional 1.5 T MRI scanner with a specially developed linear polarized head coil. The imaging technique used was an optimized conventional 2D and 3D, first order flow rephased, gradient echo sequence (FLASH) with fat-suppression and reduce bandwidth (16–28 Hz/pixel) and TR = 80–120 ms, TE = 60 ms, flip angle = 40°, matrix = 128 × 128, FOV = 150–250 mm, slice-thickness = 2–5 mm, NEX = 1, and a total single scan time for one image of about 7 sec. The motor cortex stimulation was achieved by touching each finger to thumb in a sequential, self-paced, and repetitive manner. Statistical parametric maps based on student's test were calculated. Pixels with a highly significant signal increase (p < 0.001) are overlaid on T1w SE images. The primary motor and sensory cortex could be visualized with this method in all 10 patients that were imaged in this study. Due to tight fixation of the patient's skull there have been no motion artifacts. These results show that functional MRI is feasible in an stereotactic set-up with an standard 1.5 T scanner. This is a prerequisite for the exact pre therapeutic assessment of the function of cortical centers.  相似文献

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is applied for on-line inspection of fruits. The aim of this work is to address the applicability of MRI for freeze injury detection in oranges directly on a distribution chain. Undamaged and damaged oranges are conveyed at 50 and 100 mm/s by a specially designed conveyor within a 4.7 T spectrometer obtaining fast low-angle shot images. An automatic segmentation algorithm is proposed that allows the discrimination between undamaged and damaged oranges.  相似文献

Acetaminophen (APAP) toxicity is responsible for approximately half of all cases of acute liver failure in the United States. The mouse model of APAP toxicity is widely used to examine mechanisms of APAP toxicity. Noninvasive approaches would allow for serial measurements in a single animal to study the effects of experimental interventions on the development and resolution of hepatocellular necrosis. The following study examined the time course of hepatic necrosis using small animal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) following the administration of 200 mg/kg ip APAP given to B6C3F1 male mice. Mice treated with saline served as controls (CON). Other mice received treatment with the clinical antidote N-acetylcysteine (APAP+NAC). Mouse liver pathology was characterized using T1- and T2-weighted sequences at 2, 4, 8 and 24 h following APAP administration. Standard assays for APAP toxicity [serum alanine aminotransaminase (ALT) levels and hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining of liver sections] were examined relative to MRI findings. Overall, T2 sequences had a greater sensitivity for necrosis and hemorrhage than T1 (FLASH) images. Liver injury severity scoring of MR images demonstrated increased scores in the APAP mice at 4, 8 and 24 h compared to the CON mice. APAP+NAC mice had MRI scores similar to the CON mice. Semiquantitative analysis of hepatic hemorrhage strongly correlated with serum ALT. Small animal MRI can be used to monitor the evolution of APAP toxicity over time and to evaluate the response to therapy.  相似文献

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become one of the most valuable modalities for initial and follow-up imaging of suspected or known neuroblastoma (NBL) owing to its excellent inherent contrast, lack of ionizing radiation and multiplanar imaging capability. Importantly, NBL has a variable appearance on different imaging modalities, and this is particularly pertinent to MRI. MRI is a cornerstone for management of NBL, providing essential information at initial presentation regarding diagnosis, staging, resectability and relation to vital structures. It can also define the extent of residual disease after surgical resection or assess the efficacy of treatment. Follow-up MRI is frequently performed to ensure sustained complete remission or to monitor known residual disease. This pictorial review article aims to provide the reader with a concise, yet comprehensive, collection of MR images of primary and metastatic NBL lesions with relevant correlation with other imaging modalities.  相似文献
