The analytical expression for the complex amplitude of light reflected from a wedge-shaped thin film is derived. For plane wave incidence, a simple ray tracing approach is used to calculate Goos-Hanchen (GH) shifts; and for non-plane wave incidence, for example, a Gaussian beam, the angular spectrum approach of plane wave is used in simulation. The two approaches predict that a wedge-shaped thin film can produce large negative longitudinal GH shifts. Although the reflectivity is small near the condition of resonance, the large negative GH shifts can be more easily detected in comparison with the shift from a plane-parallel film in vacuum.  相似文献

The gradient elastic constitutive equation incorporating the second gradient of the strains is used to determine the monochromatic elastic plane wave propagation in a gradient infinite medium and thin rod.The equation of motion,together with the internal material length,has been derived.Various dispersion relations have been determined.We present explicit expressions for the relationship between various wave speeds,wavenumber and internal material length.  相似文献

Fe~(2+):ZnSe thin films are prepared on sapphire substrate at room temperature by electron beam evaporation and then annealed in vacuum(about 1 × 10~(-4) Pa) at different temperatures. The influences of thermal annealing on the structural and optical properties of these films such as grain size and optical transmittance are investigated. The x-ray diffraction patterns show that the Fe~(2+):ZnSe thin film is preferred to be oriented along the(111) plane at different annealing temperatures.After the film is annealed, the full-width-at-half-maximum( FWHM) of the x-ray diffraction peak profile(111) of the film decreases and its crystal quality is improved. Scanning electron microscope images show that the films are more dense after being annealed. Finally, the sample is used as a saturable absorber in ZBLAN fiber laser. The annealed Fe~(2+):ZnSe thin films can be used to realize stable Q-switching modulation on ZBLAN fiber laser. The results demonstrate that the Fe~(2+):ZnSe thin film is a promising material for generating the high-power pulses of mid-infrared Q-switched fiber lasers.  相似文献

A simple integrated coupler is proposed for the efficient excitation of surface plasmon polariton (SPP) mode in a thin metal film. The SPP mode is generated in a single Ag-dielectric interface by the incident field and coupled with an Ag thin film. The coupling efficiency at different wavelengths using two different dielectrics, gallium lanthanum sulfide (GLS) and aluminum gallium arsenide (AIGaAs) is calculated by analyzing the SPP propagation dynamics with the finite difference time domain method. A maximum coupling efficiency of 70~ is obtained at a wavelength of 46Ohm when GLS is used, whereas the corresponding value obtained for A1GaAs is 60~o at 56Onto. The proposed structure can be used to excite SPPs in a nano-thin film from an external bulky source and is easier to fabricate since a single interface metal-dielectric configuration is used to excite the metal-thin film.  相似文献

A slanted columnar TiO2 sculptured anisotropic thin film (ATF) is prepared via the glancing angle deposition technique and used as the phase retardation plate. The tilted nanocolumn microstructures of thin film induce the optical anisotropy. With the biaxial birefringent model, the optical constants dispersion equations of TiO2 ATF are derived by fitting the transmittance spectra for s-and p-polarized waves measured at normal and oblique incidence within 400 nm–1200 nm. The phase shift of polarized light after reflection and/or transmission through the TiO2 ATF is analyzed with the characteristic matrix employing the extracted structure parameters. The theoretical studies reasonably well accord with the experimental results measured with spectroscopic ellipsometry. In addition, the dependences of the phase shift on the coating physical thickness and oblique incidence angle are also discussed. Birefringence of the biaxial ATF provides a sophisticated phase modulation by varying incidence angles over a broad range to have a wide-angle phase shift.  相似文献

A self-organized thin film of a cyanine dye is fabricated by the spin-coating technique and is characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy,infrared(IR)spectroscopy,small-angle X-ray diffraction,ellipsometer, and atomic force microscopy(AFM).The nonlinear optical properties of the thin films are investigated by degenerate four wave mixing(DFWM)technique.The cyanine dye thin film sample exhibits high optical nonlinearities(X~(3)=2.55×10~(-12)esu),and the mechanism is analyzed by the exciton coupling theory.  相似文献

We describe a new simple technique for the low-frequency ultrasonic thickness measurement of an air-backed soft thin layer attached on a hard substrate of finite thickness throug-h the frequency-shifts of the substrate resonances by the substrate-side insonification. A plane compressive wave impinging normally on the substrate surface from a liquid is studied. Low frequency here means an interrogating acoustical wave frequency of less than half of the ‘half-wavelength resonance frequency‘ of the thin layer depending on the acoustical impedance ratio of the coating to the substrate. Equations for the frequency-shifts are derived and solved by the Newton iterative method and the Taylor expansion method, respectively, indicating satisfactory agreement within the range of interest of thickness ratio of the thin layer to the substrate for a polymer-aluminium structure. An experimental setup is constructed to verify the validity of the technique.  相似文献

The buckling of an elastic thin film on a compliant substrate under small perturbation in normal deflection and tangential displacement is studied with the effect of surface energy and interracial slip. It is revealed that Poisson's ratio of the soft substrate and the interracial slip can be neglected for film's thickness smaller than tens of nanometers. The effect of surface energy nevertheless renders the critical strain for the onset of wrinkling and the wave length dependent on the thickness highly nonlinearly. The potential of using buckling of thin films on compliant substrates for determination of surface parameters has been discussed.  相似文献

The Lamb wave technique is used in the detection of internal defects inplates.The reflection of the Lamb wave at the free edge of the plate has been shownto be rather complicated.The reflected wave is usually composed of infinite numberof Lamb wave modes even in the case of incidence of one pure mode.The analysisof the reflection problem is complicated in nature as the orthogonality relations ofthe eigen modes of the Lamb wave concern both the stresses and displacements.Weadopt the principle of the least squares as a new approach to simplify the analysis,inwhich the eigen-modes are taken as the trial function.It seems to be simple and effective.In most cases a good enough result can be obtained on using an 8-bitmicrocomputer.Here the coefficients of the various reflected modes are calculated,some interesting phenomena on the mode conversion are indicated and the condi-tions on the pure mode reflection are given.  相似文献

A simulation of the growth of an obliquely deposited thin film in a three-dimensional lattice was made using kinetic Monte Carlo method. Cu growth in three dimensions on a (001) substrate with high deposition rates has been simulated in this model. We mainly investigated the variation of three-dimensional morphology and microstructure offilms with incidence angle of sputtered flux. The relation of roughness and densities of films with incidence angle was also investigated. The simulation results show that the surface roughness increases and the relative density of thin film decreases with increasing incidence angle, respectively; the columnar structures were separated by void regions for large incidence angle and high deposition rate. The simulation results are in good agreement with experimental results.However, the orientation angle of columns is not completely consistent with the classical tangent rule.  相似文献

BaTiO3(BTO) ferroelectric thin films are prepared by the sol-gel method.The fabrication and the optical properties of an InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well light emitting diode(LED) with amorphous BTO ferroelectric thin film are studied.The photoluminescence(PL) of the BTO ferroelectric film is attributed to the structure.The ferroelectric film which annealed at 673 K for 8 h has the better PL property.The peak width is about 30 nm from 580 nm to 610 nm,towards the yellow region.The mixed electroluminescence(EL) spectrum of InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well LED with 150-nm thick amorphous BTO ferroelectric thin film displays the blue-white light.The Commission Internationale De L’Eclairage(CIE) coordinate of EL is(0.2139,0.1627).EL wavelength and intensity depends on the composition,microstructure and thickness of the ferroelectric thin film.The transmittance of amorphous BTO thin film is about 93% at a wavelength of 450 nm-470 nm.This means the amorphous ferroelectric thin films can output more blue-ray and emission lights.In addition,the amorphous ferroelectric thin films can be directly fabricated without a binder and used at higher temperatures(200℃-400℃).It is very favourable to simplify the preparation process and reduce the heat dissipation requirements of an LED.This provides a new way to study LEDs.  相似文献

It is reported that the Goos-Haenchen (GH) shift of both TE and TM light beams totally reflected from a dielectric interface can be greatly enhanced by a dielectric thin film without changing the property of total internal reflection.Numerical simulations confirm the theoretical analysis and show that the enhanced GH shift can be as large as the width of the beam for beam‘s width up to 820 times of the wavelength. This may stimulate investigations in other areas of physics and may lead to interesting applications in optical devices. The enhancement of the GH shift is accompanied by the enhancement of the intensity of the decaying field in the optically thin medium and of the propagating field inside the film.  相似文献

Based on laser radar equations, a Doppler shift model of a laser pulse beam scattered by a rotating arbitrary convex target is reported in this paper. The boundary relations between an incident pulse beam and the detected area elements are analyzed by geometric methods. The Doppler shift characteristics of the rotating cone and cylinder are discussed and the difference between the laser pulse beam and the plane wave scattered from the same rotating target is compared accordingly. Numerical simulations show that the Doppler shift is tightly relevant to their dimensions, speeds, and so on. In the same incidence conditions, the pulse beam and plane wave have difference peak values and the same Doppler shift bandwidth. If the waist radius of the pulse beam is larger, the peak value is higher, and the Doppler shifts are proportional to the speed of the rotating target. By virtue of our theoretical model, we probe into the scattered characteristics of the Doppler shifts of a laser pulse beam, which would benefit target identification in national defense.  相似文献

Acoustic scattering from a submerged fluid-filled finite cylindrical shell insonified by an incident plane wave was studied.The analytic solutions of the scattering field are derived using the elastic thin shell theory with the boundary conditions.The fluid-filled impedance,due to the effect of internal fluid,must add to the impedance of the system.The results show that in the backscattering field,rigid scattering has a large contribution only on the broadside and elastic scattering play a major role when oblique incidence.The dispersion curves of the phase velocity show that comparing with the internal vacuum condition,except the contribution by longitudinal wave and shear wave near the broadside a series of the additional waves caused by the internal fluid is added which have great contribution to the scattering field.Bowl-shape resonance curves are presented in the frequency-angle spectrum as the contribution of the internal fluid waves.  相似文献

The low-frequency features of the ultrasound reflection spectra from the structure of a single layer on a substrate bonded by a thin adhesive layer are theoretically studied; the low-frequency here means the frequency of the interrogating ultrasonic wave is less than the quart-wavelength resonance frequency of the adhesive layer. The possibility of the inversion of the thickness and the evaluation of the cohesion strength of the adhesive layer from the resonance frequency shifts of the layered system is indicated. An analytic solution to the nonlinear equation satisfied by the resonance frequency is presented by Taylor expansion method showing satisfactory agreement with the numerical results by Newton iterative method. The results indicate larger range for application than the traditional spring model for the thin adhesive layer. In a much lower frequency range the thin adhesive layer may be regarded to be a spring.  相似文献

We investigate the relationship between natural frequencies of a multilayered system of different elastic materials and the thickness of the undermost thin film. The natural frequencies are numerically calculated from the reflection coefficient of a sample system of "steel-epoxy resin-aluminium-thin polymer" with normal incidence. Strain energy ratio is defined and calculated to give the physics explanation why some frequencies are sensitive to thickness of the thin film in certain range. Experiments of three specimens indicate that the measured natural frequencies agree well with the theoretical ones. It is found in our experiments that the ratio of the lowest film thickness to wavelength is about 1/5. The average relative errors for the inverted polymer film thicknesses are found to be 11.8%, -4.8% and -1.3%, respectively.  相似文献

The relative band gap for a rhombus lattice photonic crystal is studied by plane wave expansion method and high frequency structure simulator(HFSS)simulation.General wave vectors in the first Briliouin zone are derived.The relative band gap as a function of air-filling factor and background material is investigated,respectively,and the nature of photonic band gap for different lattice angles is analyzed by the distribution of electric energy.These results would provide theoretical instruction for designing optical integrated devices using photonic crystal with a rhombus lattice.  相似文献

Developing natural "free space" frequency upconversion is essential for photonic integrated circuits. In a singlecrystal lithium niobate thin film planar waveguide of less than 1 μm thickness, we achieve type I and type II mode phase-matching conditions simultaneously for this thin film planar waveguide. Finally, by employing the mode phase matching of e t e → e with d_(33) at 1018 nm, we successfully achieve a green second-harmonic wave output with the conversion efficiency of 0.12%∕(W·cm~2), which verifies one of our simulation results. The rich mode phase matching for three-wave mixing in a thin film planar waveguide may provide a potential application in on-chip frequency upconversions for integrated photonic and quantum devices.  相似文献

The effect of In doping on the electronic structure and optical properties of SrTiO3 is investigated by the first-principles calculation of plane wave ultra-soft pseudo-potential based on the density function theory (DFT). The calculated results reveal that due to the hole doping, the Fermi level shifts into valence bands (VBs) for SrTi1-x InxO3 with x = 0.125 and the system exhibits p-type degenerate semiconductor features. It is suggested according to the density of states (DOS) of SrTi0.875In0.125O3 that the band structure of p-type SrTIO3 can be described by a rigid band model. At the same time, the DOS shifts towards high energies and the optical band gap is broadened. The wide band gap, small transition probability and weak absorption due to the low partial density of states (PDOS) of impurity in the Fermi level result in the optical transparency of the film. The optical transmittance of In doped SrTiO3 is higher than 85% in a visible region, and the transmittance improves greatly. And the cut-off wavelength shifts into a blue-light region with the increase of In doping concentration.  相似文献
