Mesoporous silica synthesized from the cocondensation of tetraethoxysilane and silylated carbon dots containing an amide group has been adopted as the carrier for the in situ growth of TiO2 through an impregnation–hydrothermal crystallization process. Benefitting from initial complexation between the titania precursor and carbon dot, highly dispersed anatase TiO2 nanoparticles can be formed inside the mesoporous channel. The hybrid material possesses an ordered hexagonal mesostructure with p6mm symmetry, a high specific surface area (446.27 m2 g?1), large pore volume (0.57 cm3 g?1), uniform pore size (5.11 nm), and a wide absorption band between λ=300 and 550 nm. TiO2 nanocrystals are anchored to the carbon dot through Ti?O?N and Ti?O?C bonds, as revealed by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Moreover, the nitrogen doping of TiO2 is also verified by the formation of the Ti?N bond. This composite shows excellent adsorption capabilities for 2,4‐dichlorophenol and acid orange 7, with an electron‐deficient aromatic ring, through electron donor–acceptor interactions between the carbon dot and organic compounds instead of the hydrophobic effect, as analyzed by the contact angle analysis. The composite can be photocatalytically recycled through visible‐light irradiation after adsorption. The narrowed band gap, as a result of nitrogen doping, and the photosensitization effect of carbon dots are revealed to be coresponsible for the visible‐light activity of TiO2. The adsorption capacity does not suffer any clear losses after being recycled three times.  相似文献

Mesoporous titania has been successfully synthesized by photodegradation removal of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as the surfactant, after slow hydrolyzation of titanium(IV) isopropoxide. Fourier transform infrared spectra proved that photodegradation has successfully decreased the peak areas of the alkyl groups from the template. The nitrogen adsorption analysis showed that the pore size and the specific surface area of the mesoporous titania were 3.7 nm and 203 m2 g−1, respectively, proving the mesoporosity of the titania obtained with the existence of the interparticle mesoporosity which was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy. Based on X-ray diffraction results, the mesoporous titania obtained was in the form of crystalline anatase phase. Furthermore, results from the diffuse reflectance ultra violet-visible spectra showed that the composition of tetrahedral titanium(IV) was more than the octahedral titanium(IV). When the mesoporous titania obtained was used as a catalyst in the oxidation of styrene, an improvement in the conversion of styrene (38%) was observed when compared to those obtained using Degussa P25 TiO2 (14%) as the catalyst.  相似文献

Hierarchical, titania‐coated, nanofibrous, carbon hybrid materials were fabricated by employing natural cellulosic substances (commercial filter paper) as a scaffold and carbon precursor. Ultrathin titania films were firstly deposited by means of a surface sol–gel process to coat each nanofiber in the filter paper, and successive calcination treatment under nitrogen atmosphere yielded the titania–carbon composite possessing the hierarchical morphologies and structures of the initial paper. The ultrathin titania coating hindered the coalescence effect of the carbon species that formed during the carbonization process of cellulose, and the original cellulose nanofibers were converted into porous carbon nanofibers (diameters from tens to hundreds of nanometers, with 3–6 nm pores) that were coated with uniform anatase titania thin films (thickness ≈12 nm, composed of anatase nanocrystals with sizes of ≈4.5 nm). This titania‐coated, nanofibrous, carbon material possesses a specific surface area of 404 m2 g?1, which is two orders of magnitude higher than the titania–cellulose hybrid prepared by atomic layer deposition of titania on the cellulose fibers of filter paper. The photocatalytic activity of the titania–carbon composite was evaluated by the improved photodegradation efficiency of different dyes in aqueous solutions under high‐pressure, fluorescent mercury‐lamp irradiation, as well as the effective photoreduction performance of silver cations to silver nanoparticles with ultraviolet irradiation.  相似文献

Structurally thermostable mesoporous anatase TiO2 (m‐TiO2) nanoparticles, uniquely decorated with atomically dispersed SiO2, is reported for the first time. The inorganic Si portion of the novel organosilane template, used as a mesopores‐directing agent, is found to be incorporated in the pore walls of the titania aggregates, mainly as isolated sites. This is evident by transmission electron microscopy and high‐angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy, combined with electron dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy. This type of unique structure provides exceptional stability to this new material against thermal collapse of the mesoporous structure, which is reflected in its high surface area (the highest known for anatase titania), even after high‐temperature (550 °C) calcination. Control of crystallite size, pore diameter, and surface area is achieved by varying the molar ratios of the titanium precursor and the template during synthesis. These mesoporous materials retain their porosity and high surface area after template removal and further NaOH/HCl treatment to remove silica. We investigate their performance for dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with bilayer TiO2 electrodes, which are prepared by applying a coating of m‐TiO2 onto a commercial titania (P25) film. The high surface area of the upper mesoporous layer in the P25–m‐TiO2 DSSC significantly increases the dye loading ability of the photoanode. The photocurrent and fill factor for the DSSC with the bilayer TiO2 electrode are greatly improved. The large increase in photocurrent current (ca. 56 %) in the P25–m‐TiO2 DSSC is believed to play a significant role in achieving a remarkable increase in the photovoltaic efficiency (60 %) of the device, compared to DSSCs with a monolayer of P25 as the electrode.  相似文献

A simple synthetic method was employed to prepare mesoporous titania with anatase crystalline walls and high photocatalytic activity. The properties and structures of mesoporous titania were characterized by means of low angle and wide angle X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform (FT)-IR spectra, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and N2 adsorption–desorption. The characteristic results clearly show that crystallization rate of the mesoporous titania affects the stability of the mesoporous structure after reflux, and that the anatase crystal in the mesoporous wall of mesoporous titania can stabilize the mesoporous structure. The photocatalytic activity of titania powder was evaluated from an analysis of the photodegradation of methyl orange under UV irradiation. The results indicate that the titania powder with mesoporous structure shows the highest photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

A novel carbon‐titania composite material, C/TiO2, has been prepared by growing carbon nanofibers (CNFs) on TiO2 surface via methane decomposition using Ni‐Cu as a catalyst. The C/TiO2 was used for preparing supported palladium catalyst, Pd/C/TiO2. The support and Pd/C/TiO2 catalyst were characterized by BET, SEM, XRD and TG‐DTG. Its catalytic performance was evaluated in selective hydrogenation of citral to citronellal, and compared with that of activated carbon supported Pd catalyst. It was found that the Pd/C/TiO2 catalyst contains 97% of mesopores. And it exhibited 88% of selectivity to citronellal at citral conversion of 90% in citral hydrogenation, which was much higher than that of activated carbon supported Pd catalyst. This result may be attributed to elimination of internal diffusion limitations, which were significant in activated carbon supported Pd catalyst, due to its microporous structure.  相似文献

A complex titania nanostructure of monodisperse spiky mesoporous anatase beads composed of anatase nanocrystals with diameters of less than 15 nm in the core and much larger hollow‐cone shaped spikes on the surface was fabricated using a facile solvothermal process in the presence of ammonia. This proceeded through a controllable phase transformation from an amorphous titania to a metastable amorphous titania/ammonium titanate core‐shell structure then finally to anatase titania. The size of the spiky anatase nanostructures can be increased from approximately 55×100 nm to 160×410 nm (square edge×length) by increasing the ammonia concentration used in the solvothermal treatment step from 2.2 to 17.4 wt. %. Such hollow‐cone shaped nanostructures, as revealed by HRTEM characterization, are single crystals elongated along the c axis of the tetragonal anatase titania. The resultant spiky titania beads have high surface areas of up to 112 m2g?1 and pore diameters and pore volumes that vary depending on the ammonia concentration and solvothermal treatment time. The morphological evolution and crystallization process of the spiky titania beads was investigated using SEM and XRD techniques. A metastable amorphous titania/ammonium titanate core‐shell structure evolved from the smooth amorphous precursor beads producing a “fluffy” titanate intermediate, on further heating the final spiky mesoporous titania beads were clearly observed. This titanate‐phase‐mediated approach allows control over the size of the nanocrystals in the core of the bead, as well as the anatase spikes on the surface, and thereby, tuning of the surface area and porosity of the resultant products. The spiky mesoporous titania beads have been used to prepare working electrodes for dye‐sensitized solar cells achieving a solar to electric power conversion efficiency of 10.30 %, indicating their potential for application in the photovoltaic field. Such complex titania nanostructures would have a number of other possible applications, such as photocatalysis, lithium ion batteries, and catalysis.  相似文献

Cerium-doped mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles with high surface area and thermal stable anatase wall were synthesized via hydrothermal process in a cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)/Ti(SO4)2/Ce(NO3)4/H2O system. The obtained materials were characterized by XRD, FESEM, HRTEM, FTIR spectroscopy, nitrogen adsorption and DRS spectra. Experimental results indicated that the doping of cerium not only increased the surface area of mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles, but also inhibited the mesopores collapse and the anatase-to-rutile phase transformation. Moreover, the undoped, doped anatase mesoporous nanoparticles exhibit higher photocatalytic activity than commercial photocatalyst (Degussa, P25), but the maximum photodegradation rate corresponds to the undoped mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles. The lower photocatalytic activities of cerium-doped samples compared with undoped one may be ascribed to that the doped cerium partially blocks titania's surface sites available for the photodegradation and absorption of Rhodamine B (RB).  相似文献

Limited strategies have been established to prepare monodisperse mesoporous carbon nanospheres (MCNs) with tailored pore sizes. In this work, a method is reported to synthesize MCNs by combining polymerization of aniline with co‐assembly of colloidal silica nanoparticles. The controlled self‐assembly behavior of colloidal silica enables the formation of uniform composite nanospheres and convenient modulation over mesopores. After carbonization and removal of sacrificial templates, the resultant MCNs possess tunable mesopores (7–42 nm) and spherical diameters (90–300 nm), as well as high surface area (785–1117 m2 g?1), large pore volume (1.46–2.01 cm3 g?1) and abundant nitrogen moieties (5.54–8.73 at %). When serving as metal‐free electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), MCNs with an optimum pore size of 22 nm, compared to those with 7 and 42 nm, exhibit the best ORR performance in alkaline medium.  相似文献

A porous, high surface area TiO2 with anatase or rutile crystalline domains is advantageous for high efficiency photonic devices. Here, we report a new route to the synthesis of mesoporous titania with full anatase crystalline domains. This route involves the preparation of anatase nanocrystalline seed suspensions as the titania precursor and a block copolymer surfactant, Pluronic P123 as the template for the hydrothermal self-assembly process. A large pore (7–8 nm) mesoporous titania with a high surface area of 106–150 m2/g after calcination at 400°C for 4 h in air is achieved. Increasing the hydrothermal temperature decreases the surface area and creates larger pores. Characteristics of the seed precursors as well as the resultant mesoporous titania powder were studied using XRD analysis, N2-adsorption/desorption analysis, and TEM. We believe these materials will be especially useful for photoelectrochemical solar cell and photocatalysis applications.  相似文献

In this study, polyaniline-titanium dioxide (PAni-TiO2) nanocomposite has been prepared and was utilized as an effective catalyst for photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) dyes from aqueous solution. Adsorption characteristic on the PAni-TiO2 surface and the aqueous solubility of the dyes also play an important role in the photodegradation of dye. Adsorption and photodegradation process occurs simultaneously on the surface of the catalyst at first adsorption occurs (21.5%) on the outer surface of the catalyst and then photodegrade the material up to (66.5%). In reaction mechanism OH· makes the vital role to the degradation of methylene blue and its intermediates. To know the surface and stability of the photocatalyst, it was characterized by FTIR, TEM, TGA–DTA, XRD, UV-vis spectrophotometer, and SEM analysis. Kinetic data indicate that up to 20 minutes photodegradation rates usually follows the pseudo-first-order reaction. After 20 minutes, it follows the Langmuir-Hinshelwood (LH) kinetics. Photo reactivity of PAni-TiO2 was studied with pH of solution, dosage of photocatalyst and concentration of dye. The reaction rate constant (r) and equilibrium binding constant (K) values were incredibly significant than other catalyst.  相似文献

A mesoporous TiO2?x material comprised of small, crystalline, vacancy‐rich anatase nanoparticles (NPs) shows unique optical, thermal, and electronic properties. It is synthesized using polymer‐derived mesoporous carbon (PDMC) as a template. The PDMC pores serve as physical barriers during the condensation and pyrolysis of a titania precursor, preventing the titania NPs from growing beyond 10 nm in size. Unlike most titania nanomaterials, during pyrolysis the NPs undergo no transition from the anatase to rutile phase and they become catalytically active reduced TiO2?x. When exposed to a slow electron beam, the NPs exhibit a charge/discharge behavior, lighting up and fading away for an average period of 15 s for an extended period of time. The NPs also show a 50 nm red‐shift in their UV/Vis absorption and long‐lived charge carriers (electrons and holes) at room temperature in the dark, even long after UV irradiation. The NPs as photocatalysts show a good activity for CO2 reduction.  相似文献

Sensing and photocatalysis of textile industry effluents such as dyes using mesoporous anatase titania nanowires are discussed here. Spectroscopic investigations show that the titania nanowires preferentially sense cationic (e.g. Methylene Blue, Rhodamine B) over anionic (e.g. Orange G, Remazol Brilliant Blue R) dyes. The adsorbed dye concentration on titania nanowires increased with increase in nanowire dimensions and dye solution pH. Electrochemical sensing directly corroborated spectroscopic findings. Electrochemical detection sensitivity for Methylene Blue increased by more than two times in magnitude with tripling of nanowire average length. Photodegradation of Methylene Blue using titania nanowires is also more efficient than the commercial P25-TiO2 nanopowders. Keeping illumination protocol and observation times constant, the Methylene Blue concentration in solution decreased by only 50% in case of P25-TiO2 nanoparticles compared to a 100% decrease for titania nanowires. Photodegradation was also found to be function of exposure times and dye solution pH. Excellent sensing ability and photocatalytic activity of the titania nanowires is attributed to increased effective reaction area of the controlled nanostructured morphology.  相似文献

Thermally stable mesoporous TiO2/SiO2 hybrid films with pore size of 50 nm have been synthesized by adopting the polymeric micelle‐assembly method. A triblock copolymer, poly(styrene‐b‐2‐vinyl pyridine‐b‐ethylene oxide), which serves as a template for the mesopores, was utilized to form polymeric micelles. The effective interaction of titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) with the polymeric micelles enabled us to fabricate stable mesoporous films. By changing the molar ratio of TEOS and TTIP, several mesoporous TiO2/SiO2 hybrid films with different compositions can be synthesized. The presence of amorphous SiO2 phase effectively retards the growth of anatase TiO2 crystal in the pore walls and retains the original mesoporous structure, even at higher temperature (650 °C). These TiO2/SiO2 hybrid films are of very high quality, without any cracks or voids. The addition of SiO2 phase to mesoporous TiO2 films not only adsorbs more organic dyes, but also significantly enhances the photocatalytic activity compared to mesoporous pure TiO2 film without SiO2 phase.  相似文献

Mesoporous TiO2 with anatase crystalline structure (MTiO2/F2319) has been synthesized by using vinylidene fluoride/chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer (1:9 in mole, F2319) as template. The synthesized mesoporous titania samples were characterized by a combination of various physicochemical techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and N2 adsorption/desorption. It was found that without any external doping, MTiO2/F2319 exhibited significantly higher photocatalytic activities for the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) dye than P25 TiO2 under visible light irradiation. Furthermore, the UV-Vis absorption maximum of the dye solution exhibited a gradual hypsochromic shift due to de-ethylation and degradation of RhB dye.  相似文献

In this study, core‐shell structures of magnetite nanoparticles coated with CMK‐8 ordered mesoporous carbon (Fe3O4@SiO2‐CMK‐8 NPs) have been successfully synthesized for the first time by carbonizing sucrose inside the pores of the Kit‐6 mesoporous silica. The nano‐sized mesoporous particles were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, Fourier transform‐infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope, dynamic light scattering, vibrating‐sample magnetometer, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) and transmission electron microscopy instruments. The obtained nanocomposite was used for removal of Reactive Yellow 160 (RY 160) dye from aqueous samples. The N2 adsorption–desorption method (at 77 K) confirmed the mesoporous structure of synthesized Fe3O4@SiO2‐CMK‐8 NPs. Also, the surface area was calculated by the BET method and Langmuir plot as 276.84 m2/g and 352.32 m2/g, respectively. The surface area, volume and pore diameter of synthesized nanoparticles (NPs) were calculated from the pore size distribution curves using the Barrett–Joyner–Halenda formula (BJH). To obtain the optimum experimental variables, the effect of various experimental parameters on the dye removal efficiency was studied using Taguchi orthogonal array experimental design method. According to the experimental results, about 90.0% of RY 160 was removed from aqueous solutions at the adsorbent amount of 0.06 g, pH 3 and ionic strength = 0.05 m during 10 min. The pseudo‐second order kinetic model provided a very good fit for the RY 160 dye removal (R2 = 0.999). The Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin–Radushkevich models were applied to describe the equilibrium isotherms, and the Langmuir isotherm showed the best fit to data with the maximum adsorption capacity of 62.893 mg/g. Furthermore, the Fe3O4@SiO2‐CMK‐8 NPs could be simply recovered by external magnet, and exhibited recyclability and reusability for a subsequent six runs.  相似文献

Nanoscale anatase TiO2 single crystals were successfully synthesized using three kinds of activated carbon (AC) templates through a simple sol–gel method. The optimal photocatalyst (T‐WOAC) was obtained using wood‐based AC template. X‐ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller analyses revealed that T‐WOAC possessed a small crystallite size of 8.7 nm and a clear mesoporous structure. The photocatalytic properties of samples were then evaluated through photodegradation of crystal violet (CV). Results implied that the photocatalysts prepared using the AC templates exhibited superior photocatalytic activity to that of the original TiO2. This enhancement may be due to the small crystallite size, large specific surface area and pore volume of the catalysts prepared with ACs. T‐WOAC showed high photocatalytic activity, CV degradation of 99.01% after 120 min of irradiation and k = 0.03914 min?1, which is 3.9 times higher than that of the original TiO2 (k = 0.00994 min?1). This result can be mainly attributed to the application of WOAC with moderate specific surface area and pore volume to produce T‐WOAC. Alkaline conditions benefitted the photodegradation of CV over photocatalysts. This work proposes a possible degradation mechanism of CV and indicates that the fabricated photocatalysts can be used to effectively remove CV from aqueous solutions.  相似文献

Magnetically active, thermally stable, and ordered mesoporous resin (MOMR-200) and carbon (MOMC-200) monoliths were prepared by one-pot hydrothermal synthesis from resol, copolymer surfactant, and iron cations at high-temperature (200 °C), followed by calcination at 360 °C and carbonization at 600 °C. X-ray diffraction results show that both MOMR-200 and MOMC-200 have ordered hexagonal mesoporous symmetry, and N2 isotherms indicate that these samples have uniform mesopores (3.71, 3.45 nm), high surface area (328, 621 m2/g) and large pore volume (0.31, 0.43 cm3/g). Transmission electron microscopy shows that iron nanoparticles, which are superparamagnetic in nature, are dispersed in the network. More importantly, the high temperature (200 °C) products exhibit much better stability than the samples synthesized at low temperature (100 °C). Interestingly, MOMC-200 has higher adsorption capacity for organic dyes when compared with commercial adsorbents (activated carbon and macroporous resin: XAD-4). Combining the advantages such as magnetically active, thermally stable networks, ordered and open mesopores, high surface area, large pore volume, adsorption of pollutants in water and desorption in ethanol solvent, MOMC-200 is potentially important for water treatments.  相似文献

Mesoporous F-doped TiO2 powders were prepared by hydrolysis of titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) in a mixed NH4F-H2O solution. Effects of F ion content and calcination temperatures on the phase composition and porosity of mesoporous titania were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and BET surface areas. The results showed the BET surface area (SBET) of the pure and doped powders dried at 100°C ranged from 260 to 310 m2/g as determined by nitrogen adsorption. With increasing calcination temperatures, the SBET values of the calcined titania powders decreased due to the increase in crystalline size. The pore size distribution was bimodal with fine intra-particle pore and larger inter-particle pore as determined by nitrogen adsorption isotherms. The peak pore diameter of intra-particle pore increases with increasing F ion content. At 700°C, all the titania powders exhibit monomodal pore size distributions due to the complete collapse of the intra-particle pores. The crystallization of anatase was obviously enhanced due to F-doping at 400°C and 500°C. Moreover, with increasing F ion concent, F ions not only suppressed the formation of brookite phase at low temperature, but also prevented phase transition of anatase to rutile at high temperature.  相似文献
