In this paper, we make the asymptotic estimates of the heat kernel for the quaternionic Heisenberg group in various cases. We also use these results to deduce the asymptotic estimates of certain harmonic functions on the quaternionic Heisenberg group. Moreover a Martin compactification of the quaternionic Heisenberg group is constructed, and we prove that the Martin boundary of this group is homeomorphic to the unit ball in the quaternionic field.  相似文献

A tensor invariant is defined on a quaternionic contact manifold in terms of the curvature and torsion of the Biquard connection involving derivatives up to third order of the contact form. This tensor, called quaternionic contact conformal curvature, is similar to the Weyl conformal curvature in Riemannian geometry and to the Chern–Moser tensor in CR geometry. It is shown that a quaternionic contact manifold is locally quaternionic contact conformal to the standard flat quaternionic contact structure on the quaternionic Heisenberg group, or equivalently, to the standard 3-Sasakian structure on the sphere iff the quaternionic contact conformal curvature vanishes.  相似文献

By constructing normal coordinates on a quaternionic contact manifold M, we can osculate the quaternionic contact structure at each point by the standard quaternionic contact structure on the quaternionic Heisenberg group. By using this property, we can do harmonic analysis on general quaternionic contact manifolds, and solve the quaternionic contact Yamabe problem on M if its Yamabe invariant satisfies λ(M) < λ( n ). The main technical result of the paper is a Bochner type formula for the sub-Laplacian on a quaternionic contact manifold. With the help of this formula we establish a version of Lichnerowicz’s theorem giving a lower bound of the eigenvalues of the sub-Laplacian under a lower bound on the Sp(n)Sp(1) components of the qc-Ricci curvature. It is shown that in the case of a 3-Sasakian manifold the lower bound is reached iff the quaternionic contact manifold is a round 3-Sasakian sphere. Another goal of the paper is to establish a priori estimates for square integrals of horizontal derivatives of smooth compactly supported functions. As an application, we prove a sharp inequality bounding the horizontal Hessian of a function by its sub-Laplacian on the quaternionic Heisenberg group.  相似文献

Gabor frames play a vital role not only in modern harmonic analysis but also in several fields of applied mathematics, for instances, detection of chirps, or image processing. In this work we present a non-trivial generalization of Gabor frames to the quaternionic case and give new density results. The key tool is the two-sided windowed quaternionic Fourier transform (WQFT). As in the complex case, we want to write the WQFT as an inner product between a quaternion-valued signal and shifts and modulates of a real-valued window function. We demonstrate a Heisenberg uncertainty principle and for the results regarding the density, we employ the quaternionic Zak transform to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions to ensure that a quaternionic Gabor system is a quaternionic Gabor frame. We conclude with a proof that the Gabor conjecture does not hold true in the quaternionic case.  相似文献

In this paper, we generalize the classical windowed Fourier transform (WFT) to quaternion-valued signals, called the quaternionic windowed Fourier transform (QWFT). Using the spectral representation of the quaternionic Fourier transform (QFT), we derive several important properties such as reconstruction formula, reproducing kernel, isometry, and orthogonality relation. Taking the Gaussian function as window function we obtain quaternionic Gabor filters which play the role of coefficient functions when decomposing the signal in the quaternionic Gabor basis. We apply the QWFT properties and the (right-sided) QFT to establish a Heisenberg type uncertainty principle for the QWFT. Finally, we briefly introduce an application of the QWFT to a linear time-varying system.  相似文献

We use cohomological methods to study the existence of symplectic structures on nilmanifolds associated to two-step nilpotent Lie groups. We construct a new family of symplectic nilmanifolds with building blocks the quaternionic analogue of the Heisenberg group, determining the dimension of the space of all left invariant symplectic structures. Such structures can not be K?hlerian. Also, we prove that the nilmanifolds associated to H type groups are not symplectic unless they correspond to the classical Heisenberg groups. The conjugacy class of parabolic subgroups with Heisenberg unipotent radical in a simple Lie groups over ³ not of type CnC_{n} contains an element defined over  for each quaternionic real form. In this paper we study the Whittaker models for quaternionic discrete series of these real forms and prove results analogous and by analogous methods to the case of simple Lie groups over  that are the automorphism groups of tube type Hermitian symmetric domain and (so-called Bessel models) for holomorphic representations. In particular we calculate the decomposition of the space of Whittaker vectors under the action of the stabilizer of the corresponding character in a Levi factor of the Heisenberg parabolic subgroup.  相似文献

We discuss the octonionic regular functions and the octonionic regular operator on the octonionic Heisenberg group. This is the octonionic version of CR function theory in the theory of several complex variables and regular function theory on the quaternionic Heisenberg group. By identifying the octonionic algebra with \(\mathbb{R }^{8}\) , we can write the octonionic regular operator and the associated Laplacian operator as real \((8\times 8)\) -matrix differential operators. Then we use the group Fourier transform on the octonionic Heisenberg group to analyze the associated Laplacian operator and to construct its kernel. This kernel is exactly the Szegö kernel of the orthonormal projection from the space of \(L^{2}\) functions to the space of \(L^{2}\) regular functions on the octonionic Heisenberg group.  相似文献

Selberg introduced weakly symmetric spaces in theframework of his development of the trace formula, and provedthat in a weakly symmetric space, the algebra of all invariant(with respect to the full isometry group) differential operatorsis commutative [22]. In this paper, Selberg asked whether theconverse holds. In the present work, we shall answer this questionby presenting examples of commutative spaces which are not weaklysymmetric.
