Density functional theory periodic slab calculations were carried out for CO adsorption on a series of Mo modified Pt(111) surfaces to provide an insight into the interaction between CO and doped metal surface, an important issue in CO oxidation as well as in promotion and poisoning effects of catalysis. The modification of adsorption properties with respect to those of adsorption on the pure Mo(110) and Pt(111) is described in terms of changes in the adsorption energies, adsorption sites and vibrational properties occurring upon alloying. We believe that the present DFT calculations can provide important information into optimal alloy composition for CO-tolerance, which is not easily obtained by experimental methods.  相似文献

The various adsorption states of oxygen on different sites of silver surfaces have been studied using CNDO method. The result shows that a fairly strong, adsorption bond is formed when oxygen molecule is adsorbed, in lying down position with its axis parallel to the surface, at the surface bridge site having larger silver-silver distance. In this case, the adsorbed oxygen molecule has fairly strong tendency to dissociate. The most favorite sites on Ag(110) and Ag(111) surfaces for oxygen molecules or atoms to be adsorbed have been suggested after calculation and analysis. The differences of oxygen adsorption on these two surfaces mentioned above have been compared. The most stable adsorption states of oxygen are O_2~(2-), O~(2-) on Ag(110) and O_2~-, O~-on Ag(111). On silver film or polycrystalline silver, O_2~(2-), O_2~-, O~(2-), O~- may coexist. The results are in agreement with experiments.  相似文献

Catalysts containing metal nanotubes were prepared by the adsorption of platinum metal nano‐tubes onto functionalized and modified silica surfaces (MCM‐41 and fumed silica). (3‐Chloropro‐pyl)trimethoxysilane and cinchonidine were used for functionalization and modification, respec‐tively. Potassium chloroplatinate was used as the metal precursor to impregnate platinum metal nanotubes on the pretreated functionalized and modified silica surfaces. The solid catalysts were characterized by ESEM, TEM, EDAX, and XPS. The MCM‐41 supported platinum nanotube catalyst showed>98%to~100%enantioselectivity towards the hydrogenation of a range of pharmaceuti‐cally important chemicals such as methyl pyruvate, ethyl pyruvate, and acetophenone with nearly full conversion.  相似文献

Adsorption kinetics for a stilbene derivative type fluorescent whitening agent (FWA) on fiber surfaces was studied based on a real-time spectroscopic measurement system. Results showed that the time-dependent behavior of FWA agrees to that of a mono-molecular adsorption layer on fiber surfaces,as characterized in Langmuir-type expression. The adsorption has two distinguishable stages includ-ing initial fast phase with the primary constant of 1.51×1014 and the later near-equilibrium phase with the secondary constant of 4.96×10-4. The maximum amount of FWA adsorbed on fiber surfaces is 1.67×10-4g (per dry weight based fiber) in the initial phase. A mathematical model of adsorption kinetics was therefore established and evaluated. This model is important for the optimization of FWA applica-tion in papermaking.  相似文献

Rechargeable lithium-oxygen(Li–O_2) batteries have been considered as the most promising candidates for energy storage and conversion devices because of their ultra high energy density. Until now, the critical scientific challenges facing Li–O_2batteries are the absence of advanced electrode architectures and highly efficient electrocatalysts for both oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER), which seriously hinder the commercialization of this technology. In the last few years, a number of strategies have been devoted to exploring new catalysts with novel structures to enhance the battery performance. Among various of oxygen electrode catalysts, carbon-based materials have triggered tremendous attention as suitable cathode catalysts for Li–O_2batteries due to the reasonable structures and the balance of catalytic activity, durability and cost. In this review, we summarize the recent advances and basic understandings related to the carbon-based oxygen electrode catalytic materials, including nanostructured carbon materials(one-dimensional(1D) carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers, 2D graphene nanosheets, 3D hierarchical architectures and their doped structures), and metal/metal oxide-nanocarbon hybrid materials(nanocarbon supporting metal/metal oxide and nanocarbon encapsulating metal/metal oxide). Finally, several key points and research directions of the future design for highly efficient catalysts for practical Li–O_2batteries are proposed based on the fundamental understandings and achievements of this battery field.  相似文献

The adsorption and dissociation behaviors of methanol on Pd(111), Pd/Au(111) and Pd/Rh(111) surfaces were studied using a periodical slab model and the PW91 generalized gradient approximation(GGA) within the framework of first-principles calculations based on density functional theory(DFT). The adsorption energy and geometric parameters for the three surfaces showed that methanol is preferentially adsorbed onto the top-Pd sites and that the adsorption energy of methanol on these surfaces decreases in the order Pd/Au(111) Pd/Rh(111) Pd(111). After adsorption, the C–O, C–H and O–H bonds in methanol adsorbed onto these surfaces are elongated and the vibrational stretching frequency of the O–H bond is obviously redshifted. Furthermore, the first step for the possible dissociation pathway for methanol on these surfaces was calculated. Our results indicate that the O–H bond in methanol decomposes producing methoxy and a hydrogen atom, with the Pd/Au(111) surface exhibiting the smallest dissociation barrier.  相似文献

The adsorption of nitric oxide adsorption on clean Mod(111), Mo(111)/O2-(4×4), Mo(111)/O2-(1×3), Mo(111)/O2-(112) facets and Mo(111) oxide surfaces was studied. Mass 28 (N2) desorption spectra show two high temperature peaks at approximate 1030 (β1) and 1200K (β2). For NO exposures less than 0. 1 L only the ft peak was observed. At higher exposures, the ft peak appeared and small amounts of N2O as well as NO desorbed. The preadsorption of oxygen blocked the β2 desorption partially on the (4×4) and (1×3) surfaces and fully on the (112) facet and oxide surfaces. In addition, the β1 desorption peak shifted to higher temperatures with increasing oxygen preexposure.  相似文献

Adsorption and diffusion of carbon monoxide on Pd low‐index surfaces and missing‐row Pd (110) reconstructed surface have been investigated by the extended London–Eyring–Polyani–Sato (LEPS) method constructed by means of a five‐parameter Morse potential. All critical characteristics, such as adsorption site, adsorption geometry, binding energy, CO vibrational frequency have been obtained and compared with the experimental and theoretical data. On these surfaces, the stable adsorption sites of CO are changed with increasing CO coverage. On the missing‐row Pd (110) reconstructed surface, there are five stable adsorption sites: H1, H2 (H1 and H2 are threefold hollow sites on (111) subsurface), B (bridge site on the second layer), SB (short‐bridge site), and T (top site). 应用原子和表面簇合物相互作用的5参数Morse势方法(简称5-MP)构造了S-Ni表面簇合物体系的解析势函数.首先对S-Ni低指数表面体系进行了研究,并获得了全部临界点性质.计算结果表明:硫原子在Ni(100)面上的稳定吸附态为四重洞位,在Ni(111)面上,硫原子吸附于三重位,硫原子在Ni(110)面上的吸附位有所变化.第一与第二周期的原子在(110)面上的稳定吸附态大都为赝式三重位和长桥位,而硫原子却吸附在Ni(110)面的四重洞位.理论分析结果和实验推测结果符合得很好.同时,还对S-Ni(311)台阶面吸附体系进行了研究.理论结果表明:S-Ni(311)表面吸附体系只存在四重吸附态和hcp三重吸附态,fcc三重吸附态在和四重吸附态的竞争中完全湮灭.对于S-Ni表面吸附体系,理论结果给出S原子的表面吸附结合能和表面簇合物的粗糙度有关.结合能从小到大的顺序为(111)<(100)<(110)<(311).  相似文献

The adsorption and diffusion of N atoms on the three low-index Cu planes were studied using 5-parameter Morse potential (5-MP) method, and the best theory-experiment agreement was obtained. N atoms of Cu(100) surface sit on the fourfold hollow site with the vertical height of 0.018 nm closely coplanar with the topmost copper layer, and the four Cu-N bond lengths are 0.182 nm and the fifth Cu-N distance is 0.199 nm. For Cu(111) system, the existence of aberrant Cu(100) reconstructed structure is approved at higher coverage, and at low coverage the structure is almost an ideal Cu(111) surface structure. With respect to Cu(110) system, the N atoms are adsorbed at LB and H3 sites, not at SB site. The diffusion passage and diffusion barrier of adsorbed N atoms were also studied.  相似文献

运用广义梯度近似密度泛函理论方法(GGA-PW91)结合周期平板模型, 研究水分子在二氧化铪(111)和(110)表面不同吸附位置在不同覆盖度下的吸附行为. 通过比较不同吸附位的吸附能和几何构型参数发现:(111)和(110)表面铪原子(top 位)是活性吸附位. 水分子与表面的吸附能值随覆盖度的变化影响较小. 在(111)和(110)表面, 水分子都倾向以氧端与表面铪原子相互作用. 同时也计算了羟基、氧和氢在表面的吸附, Mulliken 电荷布居, 态密度及部分频率. 结果表明, 在两种表面羟基以氧端与表面铪相互作用, 氧原子与表面铪和氧原子同时成键, 而氢原子直接与表面氧原子相互作用形成羟基. 通过过渡态搜索, 水分子在(111)和(110)表面发生解离, 反应能垒分别为9.7和17.3 kJ·mol-1, 且放热为59.9和47.6 kJ·mol-1.  相似文献

应用5-参数Morse势方法模拟了O-Ni表面相互作用势,考察了氧原子在镍三个低指数表面的吸附特性.同时构造了羟基与Ni(100)、Ni(110)和Ni(111)表面相互作用的推广LEPS势,获得了羟基在表面的吸附位、吸附几何、结合能及本征振动等数据.理论结果表明,羟基垂直吸附于镍表面的高对称位是稳定的,垂直吸附于Ni(100)表面4-重洞位的吸附能为96.98 kJ•mol-1,垂直吸附于Ni(111)表面3-重洞位的吸附能为96.00 kJ•mol-1,在Ni(110)表面存在两种吸附态:垂直吸附于长桥位的吸附能为99.38 kJ•mol-1,倾斜14°吸附于赝势三重位吸附能为96.98 kJ•mol-1.理论结果与实验结果符合得较好.  相似文献

Both adsorption and dissociation of the diatomic molecular NO on Pd (100) and (111) surfaces are studied using the extended London‐Eyring‐Polyani‐Sato (LEPS) method constructed by means of 5‐MP (the 5‐parameter Morse potential). All critical characteristics of the system that we obtain, such as adsorption geometry, binding energy, eigenvalues for vibration, are in good agreement with the experimental results. On Pd (100) surface, NO prefers to adsorb in fourfold hollow site (H) uprightly at low coverage. With increase in the coverage NO gradually tilts in fourfold hollow and bridge sites. For NO? Pd (111) system, two adsorption states are found at low coverage, of which one adsorption state is the B(tilt) state that the centroid of NO projects at bridge site, another (H? B? H state) that NO almost parallels to the (111) surface with the vibration frequency of 610 cm?1, but the frequency is near to that of the atoms, which is easy to be ignored in experiments. At high coverage, two transitional states (BH and HT) are found. NO is difficult to dissociate on Pd (100) and (111) surfaces. Especially for NO? Pd (111) system, the three‐well‐potential dissociation mode is initially put forward to show the remarkable dissociation process with two dissociation transitional states of NO on Pd (111). 采用密度泛函理论(DFT)研究糠醛在最稳定Pd/Cu(111)双金属表面上的吸附构型和糠醛脱碳及加氢的反应机理。结果表明,当糠醛初始吸附于O_3-Pd-top、O_7-Cu-hcp位时,吸附构型最稳定,其吸附能为73.4 kJ/mol。糠醛在Pd/Cu(111)双金属表面上更易发生脱碳反应。对于糠醛脱碳反应,所需活化能较低,各个基元反应均为放热反应,糠醛更易先失去支链上的H形成(C_4H_3O)CO,然后中间体脱碳加氢得到呋喃,其中,C_4H_3O加氢生成呋喃所需活化能(72.6 kJ/mol)最高,是反应的控速步骤。对于加氢反应,糠醛与首个氢原子的反应需要最大的活化能(290.4 kJ/mol),是反应的限速步骤。  相似文献

采用密度泛函理论(DFT), 选取DMol3程序模块, 对噻吩在M(111) (M=Pd, Pt, Au)表面上的吸附行为进行了探讨. 通过对噻吩在不同底物金属上的吸附能、吸附构型、Mulliken 电荷布居、差分电荷密度以及态密度的分析发现, 噻吩在Pd(111)面上的吸附能最大, Pt(111)面次之, Au(111)面最小. 吸附后, 噻吩在Au(111)面上的构型几乎保持不变, 最终通过S端倾斜吸附于top 位; 噻吩在Pd(111)及Pt(111)面上发生了折叠与变形, 环中氢原子向上翘起, 最终通过环平面平行吸附于hollow 位. 此外, 噻吩环吸附后芳香性遭到了破坏, 环中碳原子发生sp3杂化, 同时电子逐渐由噻吩向M(111)面发生转移, M(111)面上的部分电子也反馈给了噻吩环中的空轨道, 这种协同作用最终导致了噻吩分子稳定吸附于M(111)面.  相似文献

 The adsorption of isolated Pd atoms on the (1 1 0) surface of rutile TiO2 was investigated through ab initio embedded-cluster calculations performed at the Hartree–Fock, second-order M?ller–Plesset and Becke's three parameter hybrid method with the Lee–Yang–Parr correlation functional levels. The role played by the magnitude of the surrounding charges used in the embedding procedure was carefully analyzed. The most stable site for adsorption consisted of a fourfold hollow site in which the Pd atom was coordinated to a fivefold Ti atom, two basal oxygens, and a protruding oxygen atom. However, the adsorption energies computed after basis set superposition error corrections seemed to favor a bridge site in which the Pd atom binds two protruding oxygen atoms. A periodic slab calculation using gradient-corrected functionals and plane-wave basis sets confirmed that for full coverage, the hollow site was more stable, although Pd displacement along the fivefold Ti channels was almost free. These results agree with the experimental data obtained from scanning tunneling microscopy. Finally, the adsorption energy computed from the periodic calculations was found to be 1.88 eV. Adsorption of carbon monoxide on Pd (210) and (510) stepped surfaces has been investigated by the extended London‐Eyring‐Polyani‐Sato method constructed using a five‐parameter Morse potential. Pd (210) and (510) stepped surfaces consist of terrace with (100) structure and step with (110) character. These results show that there exist common characteristics of CO adsorption on these two surfaces. At low coverage, CO adsorbs in twofold bridge site of the (100) terrace. The critical characteristics inherit that of CO molecule adsorbed in twofold bridge site of (100) original surface. When the coverage is increased, the top site of (110) step is occupied. The critical characteristics resemble that of CO molecule adsorbed in top site of (110) original surface. A number of new sites are exposed on the boundary regions, for example, the fivefold hollow site (H) of these two surfaces. There are stable adsorption sites at high coverage. Because of the different length of the (100) terrace, the (210) and (510) stepped surfaces have some different characteristics. First, CO is tilted adsorption on bridge site of terrace of (210), but perpendicular on terrace of (510) surface. Second, the bridge site (B1) where one Pd atom at the top of the step and the other at the bottom of the step is a stable adsorption site on (210), but the same type of site on Pd (510) surface is not.
