The phenyl acetylene and benzyl azide cycloaddition reaction in water in the presence of β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD) as a phase transfer catalyst (PTC) can get a better yield in a shorter time. The interaction between β‐CD and phenyl acetylene or benzyl azide plays an important role in this reaction. This paper studies the complexes of β‐CD with phenyl acetylene and benzyl azide using density functional theory (DFT) method. In order to find out the orientations of guests in the cavity of β‐CD, binding energy and deformation energy are investigated, and the calculated results are confirmed by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR). The data from single point energy indicate that the inclusion complexes can improve the solubilities of phenyl acetylene and benzyl azide in water. The 13C and 15N spectra show that the most obvious variation concentrates on C6 and C8 of phenyl acetylene and N15 of benzyl azide in complexes. Mulliken charge and frontier orbital are employed for revealing the charge distribution. The effect of β‐CD is discussed in terms of the calculated parameters. Interactions between niflumic acid and native and hydroxypropylated α‐ and β‐cyclodextrins (CDs) were investigated by 1H NMR, UV‐vis spectroscopy, densimetry, and calorimetry at pH = 7.4 (phosphate buffer) and T = 298.15 K. Thermodynamic parameters of 1:1 complex formation were calculated and discussed in terms of influence of cavity size and availability of hydroxypropyl substituents on the complex stability. The 1H NMR data indicated the inclusion of niflumic acid into macrocyclic cavity of all CDs under study. It was found that both phenyl and pyridine rings of niflumic acid molecule can be included in the cyclodextrin cavity. The co‐existence of two different kinds of 1:1 inclusion complexes in the solution was suggested. In spite of the fact that binding of niflumic acid with α‐cyclodextrin is more enthalpically favorable, stability of the inclusion complexes is very low due to the enthalpy–entropy compensation effect. Complex formation of β‐CDs with niflumic acid is characterized by the higher enthalpy and entropy changes caused by more intense dehydration. Introduction of hydroxypropyl groups in the cyclodextrin molecule was found to promote the binding with niflumic acid. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The inclusion complexes of p‐sulfonated calix[4, 6] arene and β‐cyclodextrin with dopamine were studied by fluorescence spectrometry in aqueous media. It was found that the fluorescence intensity of dopamine regularly decreased upon the addition of p‐sulfonated calix[4, 6] arene, on the contrary, it increased upon the addition of β‐cyclodextrin. 1H NMR spectra were applied to verify the formation of the complexes. According to the experimental results, 1:1 stoichiometry for the complexes was established and their association constants at 25°C were calculated by applying a deduced equation. Judging from the magnitude of their inclusion constants, the p‐sulfonated calix[4, 6] arene showed better inclusion capability than β‐cyclodextrin. The probable interaction mechanisms are proposed.  相似文献

A series of 1,3‐bis(2′‐hydroxyethyl)imidazolium ionic liquids is reported where 1H NMR chemical shift values and thermal stabilities (Td), as determined by thermogravimetric analysis, are correlated with the hydrogen bonding capability of various anions ([Cl?], [Br?], [CF3CO2?], [NO2?], [MsO?], [NO3?], [TfO?], [BF4?], [NTf2?], and [PF6?]). Use of anions with the strongest hydrogen bonding capability, such as chloride [Cl?], bromide [Br?], and trifluoroacetate [CF3CO2?], led to the furthest observed downfield chemical shift values in DMSO‐d6 and the poorest thermal stabilities ([CF3CO2?] < 200 °C). Thermal stabilities in excess of 350 °C and upfield chemical shift values were observed for ionic liquids, which employed the weakly coordinating triflate [OTf?], tetrafluoroborate [BF4?], or bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [NTf2?] anion. Optimized structures of selected ionic liquids, as determined by density functional theory calculations at the B3LYP/6‐31G + (d,p) level, indicated that the anion preferred to be located above the imidazolium ring and in close proximity to the hydroxyl groups. Calculated dissociation energies (ΔE) and a comparison of key bonding distances (C2―H, (C2)H···X, O―H, and (O)H···X) also confirmed this structural preference. Herein, we report the synthesis, electrochemical, and computational evaluation of six 2‐substituted imidazolium bromides and six 2‐substituted imidazolium triflates. All final compounds were obtained in 2 or fewer synthetic steps from inexpensive starting materials and display a single, irreversible electrochemical reduction. The reduction potentials span a range greater than 1 V depending on the electron withdrawing power of the 2‐substituent. Imidazolium bromides such as Bn2(H)ImBr reduce with E1/2 = ?2.70 V vs Fc/Fc+, whereas the electron‐withdrawing Br‐containing analog Bn2(Br)ImBr reduces at only ?1.58 V vs Fc/Fc+. The reduction potential of imidazolium bromides obeys a linear free energy relationship to σm Hammett constants, whereas imidazolium triflates correlate better with the σp Hammett constants. These results indicate that the stabilizing effect of the 2‐substituent is anion‐sensitive, changing from induction to resonance upon exchanging bromide for triflate. Predicted electron affinities from density functional theory–optimized structures of imidazolium cations and reduced species more closely match experimental data for the triflates, suggesting that a triflate anion does not electronically perturb the imidazolium core as much as a bromide. Taken together, these data highlight the dual modularity of imidazolium salts by changing both 2‐substituent and anion.  相似文献

The interaction of β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD) with meta‐trisulfonated triphenylphosphine derivatives bearing one or two methyl (or methoxy) groups on the aromatic rings has been investigated by PM3 calculations. The results show that phosphine molecules interact with β‐CD having either an unsubstituted sulfophenyl group or a substituted sulfophenyl group at the para and/or meta‐position. The presence of one methyl or methoxy group in the ortho‐position on each aromatic ring prevents the formation of an inclusion complex between meta‐trisulfonated triphenylphosphine derivatives and β‐CD. The deeply included phosphines in the β‐CD cavity show significant van der Waals interactions with β‐CD. These interactions are at the origin of the high association constants between these molecules and β‐CD. Phosphines exhibiting small association constants interact with β‐CD by forming H‐bonds and weak (or null) van der Waals interactions. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Gas‐phase structure, hydrogen bonding, and cation–anion interactions of a series of 1‐(2‐hydroxyethyl)‐3‐methylimidazolium ([HOEMIm]+)‐based ionic liquids (hereafter called hydroxyl ILs) with different anions (X = [NTf2], [PF6], [ClO4], [BF4], [DCA], [NO3], [AC] and [Cl]), as well as 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimizolium ([EMIm]+)‐based ionic liquids (hereafter called nonhydroxyl ILs), were investigated by density functional theory calculations and experiments. Electrostatic potential surfaces and optimized structures of isolated ions, and ion pairs of all ILs have been obtained through calculations at the Becke, three‐parameter, Lee–Yang–Parr/6‐31 + G(d,p) level and their hydrogen bonding behavior was further studied by the polarity and Kamlet–Taft Parameters, and 1H‐NMR analysis. In [EMIm]+‐based nonhydroxyl ILs, hydrogen bonding preferred to be formed between anions and C2–H on the imidazolium ring, while in [HOEMIm]+‐based hydroxyl ILs, it was replaced by a much stronger one that preferably formed between anions and OH. The O–H···X hydrogen bonding is much more anion‐dependent than the C2–H···X, and it is weakened when the anion is changed from [AC] to [NTf2]. The different interaction between [HOEMIm]+ and variable anion involving O–H···X hydrogen bonding resulted in significant effect on their bulk phase properties such as 1H‐NMR shift, polarity and hydrogen‐bond donor ability (acidity, α). The competitive 1,5‐electrocyclization versus intramolecular 1,5‐proton shift in imidazolium allylides and imidazolium 2‐phosphaallylides has been investigated theoretically at the DFT (B3LYP/6‐311 + +G**//B3LYP/6‐31G**) level. 1,5‐Electrocyclization follows pericyclic mechanism and its activation barrier is lower than that for the pseudopericyclic mechanism by ~5–6 kcal mol?1. The activation barriers for 1,5‐electrocyclization of imidazolium 2‐phosphaallylides are found to be smaller than those for their nonphosphorus analogues by ~3–5 kcal mol?1. There appears to be a good correlation between the activation barrier for intramolecular 1,5‐proton shift and the density of the negative charge at C8, except for the ylides having fluorine substituent at this position ( 7b and 8b ). The presence of fluorine atom reduces the density of the negative charge at C8 (in 7b it becomes positively charged) and thus raises the activation barrier. The ylides 7f and 8f having CF3 group at C8, in preference to the 1,5‐proton shift, follow an alternative route leading to different carbenes which is accompanied by the loss of HF. The carbenes Pr 7 , 8b – e resulting from intramolecular 1,5‐proton shift have a strong tendency to undergo intramolecular SN2 type reaction, the activation barrier being 7–28 kcal mol?1. 1H and 13C NMR studies and quantum chemical calculations show the interaction between 2,11‐dithia‐5,6,8,9‐tetramethyl[32](1,4)cyclophane and nitrosonium cation to result in the formation of π‐ and n‐complexes. According to DFT/B3LYP/6‐31G(2d,p) calculations, formation of nitrosonium complexes is a strongly exothermic process both in gas phase and in SO2. Affinity of single‐charged complexes to NO+ is usually larger than that of double‐charged and triple‐charged complexes, affinity of all the charged complexes to nitrosonium cation in SO2 being larger than that in gas phase. The π‐complex with nitrosonium cation coordinated to the methylated aromatic ring is the most stable with structural characteristics being close to those obtained by X‐ray diffraction for nitrosonium π‐complexes of hexamethylbenzene and other arenes. The N―O bond lengths in all the complexes are quite close to each other and larger than that in NO+ cation. The S―N bond length increases upon transition from single‐charged to double‐charged and polycharged complexes. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The gas‐phase acidities (GA) of 2‐aryl‐2‐chloro‐1,1,1‐trifluoroethanes ( 1a ), 2‐aryl‐2‐fluoro‐1,1,1‐trifluoroethanes ( 2a ), and related compounds, XC6H4CH(Z)R where Z = Cl ( 1 ) or F ( 2 ) and R = C2F5 ( b ), t‐C4F9 ( c ), C(CF3)2C2F5 ( d ), C(CF3)2Me ( e ), Me ( f ), H ( g ), were investigated experimentally and computationally. On the basis of an excellent linear correlation (R2 > 0.99) of acidities of 1c , 1d , 1e , 1f and 2c , 2d , 2e , 2f where there is no fluorine atom at β‐position to the deprotonation site with the corrected number of fluorine atoms contained in the fluorinated alkyl group, the extent of β‐fluorine negative hyperconjugation of the CF3 and C2F5 groups (ΔGoβ‐F) was evaluated. The GAel values given by subtraction ΔGoβ‐F from the apparent GA value were considered to represent the electronic effect of the substituent X. The substituent effects on the GAel values and GA values for 1c , 1d , 1e , 1f and 2c , 2d , 2e , 2f were successfully analyzed in terms of the Yukawa–Tsuno equation. The variation of resonance demand parameter r? with the R group observed for various XC6H4CH(Z)R was linearly related to the GA (GAel) value of the respective phenyl‐substituted fluorinated alkanes. On the other hand, the corresponding correlation for the ρ values provided three lines for ArCH(Cl)R, ArCH(F)R and ArCH2R, respectively. These results supported our previous conclusion that the r? and ρ values are governed by the thermodynamic stability of the parent ion (ring substituent = H). Other factors arising from an atom bonded to the acidic center also influence the ρ value. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The structures of 2‐substituted malonamides, YCH(CONR1R2)CONR3R4 (Y = Br, SO2Me, CONH2, COMe, and NO2) were investigated. When Y = Br, R1R2 = R3R4 = HEt; Y = SO2Me, R1–R4 = H and for Y = CONH2 or CONHPh, R1–R4 = Me, the structure in solution is that of the amide tautomer. X‐ray crystallography shows solid‐state amide structures for Y = SO2Me or CONH2, R1–R4 = H. Nitromalonamide displays an enol structure in the solid state with a strong hydrogen bond (OO distance = 2.3730 Å at 100 K) and d(OH) ≠ d(OH). An apparently symmetric enol was observed in solution, even in appreciable percentages in highly polar solvents such as DMSO‐d6, but Kenol values decrease on increasing the solvent polarity. The N,N′‐dimethyl derivative is less enolic. Acetylmalonamides display a mixture of enol on the acetyl group and amide in non‐polar solvents, and only the amide in DMSO‐d6. DFT calculations gave the following order of pKenol values for Y: H > CONH2 > COMe ≥ COMe (on acetyl) ≥ MeSO2 > CN > NO2 in the gas phase, CHCl3, and DMSO. The enol on the C?O group is preferred to the aci‐nitro compound, and the N? O? HO?C is less favored than the C?O? HO?C hydrogen bond. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The complexes of cerium(III) and neodymium(III) were synthesized by reaction of the respective inorganic salts with 5‐aminoorotic acid (H4L) in amounts equal to the metal:ligand molar ratio of 1:3. The structures of the final complexes were determined by means of spectral (IR, Raman, 1H NMR and 13C NMR) and elemental analysis. Significant differences in the IR spectra of the complexes were observed as compared to the spectrum of the ligand. A comparative analysis of the Raman spectra of the complexes with that of the free H4L allowed a straightforward assignment of the vibrations of the ligand groups involved in coordination. The geometry of H4L was computed and optimized for the first time with the Gaussian03 program using the B3PW91/6‐311++G**, B3PW91/LANL2DZ, B3LYP/6‐311++G** and B3LYP/LANL2DZ methods. The experimental IR and Raman bands of the ligand were assigned to normal modes on the basis of DFT calculations. The vibrational analysis performed for the studied species, H4L and its complexes, helped to explain the vibrational behavior of the ligand vibrational modes sensitive to interaction with the lanthanides. The vibrational study gave evidence for the coordination mode of the ligand to lanthanide ions and was in agreement with the other theoretical prediction. In the present work, we theoretical study the sensing mechanism of a new fluoride chemosensor (E)‐2‐(2‐(dimethylamino)ethyl)‐6‐(4‐hydroxystyryl)‐1H‐benzo[de]‐isoquinoline‐1,3(2H)‐dione (the abbreviation is NIM ). Based on density functional theory and time‐dependent density functional theory methods, the fluoride anion response mechanism has been confirmed via constructing potential energy curve. The exothermal deprotonation process along with the intermolecular hydrogen bond O–H···F reveals the uniqueness of detecting F?. After capturing hydrogen proton forming NIM‐A anion configuration, a new absorption peak around 655 nm appears in dimethyl sulfoxide solvent. In addition, the emission of NIM can be quenched when adding F? has been also confirmed. Due to the twisted intramolecular charge transfer character NIM‐A‐S 1 form, we further verify the experimental phenomenon. The theoretical electronic spectra (vertical excitation energies and fluorescence peak) reproduced previous experimental results (ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2014, 6, 7996), which not only reveals the rationality of our theoretical level used in this work but also confirms the correctness of geometrical attribution. In view of the excitation process, the strong intramolecular charge transfer process of S0 → S1 transition explain the redshift of absorption peak for NIM with the addition of fluoride anion. This work presents a straightforward sensing mechanism (deprotonation process) of fluoride anion for the novel NIM chemosensor.  相似文献

Knowledge of the strength of the metal–ligand bond breaking and formation is fundamental for an understanding of the thermodynamics underlying many important stoichiometric and catalytic organometallic reactions. Quantum chemical calculations at different levels of theory have been used to investigate heterolytic Fe―C bond energies of para‐substituted benzyldicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl)iron, p‐G‐C6H4CH2Fp [1, G = NO2, CN, COMe, CO2Me, CF3, Br, Cl, F, H, Me, MeO, NMe2; Fp = (η5‐C5H5)(CO)2Fe], and para‐substituted α‐cyanobenzyldicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl)iron, p‐G‐PANFp [2, PAN = C6H4CH(CN)]. The results show that BP86 and TPSSTPSS can provide the best price/performance ratio and more accurate predictions in the study of ΔHhet(Fe―C)'s. The good linear correlations [r = 0.98 (g, 1a), 0.99 (g, 2b)] between the substituent effects of heterolytic Fe―C bond energies [ΔΔHhet(Fe―C)'s] of series 1 and 2 and the differences of acidic dissociation constants (ΔpKa) of C―H bonds of p‐G‐C6H4CH3 and p‐G‐C6H4CH2CN imply that the governing structural factors for these bond scissions are similar. And the excellent linear correlations [r = ?1.00 (g, 1c), ?0.99 (g, 2d)] between ΔΔHhet(Fe―C)'s and the substituent σp? constants show that these correlations are in accordance with Hammett linear free energy relationships. The polar effects of these substituents and the basis set effects influence the accuracy of ΔHhet(Fe―C)'s. ΔΔHhet(Fe―C)'s(1, 2) follow the Capto‐dative Principle. The detailed knowledge of the factors that determine the Fp―C bond strengths would greatly aid in understanding reactivity patterns in many processes. A series of substituted chlorinated chalcones namely, 3‐(2,4‐dichlorophenyl)‐1‐(4′‐X‐phenyl)‐2‐propen‐1‐one, have been synthesized, X being H, NH2, OMe, Me, F, Cl, CO2Et, CN, and NO2. Dual substituent parameter (DSP) models of 13C NMR chemical shift (CS) have revealed that π‐polarization concept could be utilized to explain the reverse field effect at CO, the enhanced substituent field effect at CO, C‐2, and C‐5, and the decreased sensitivity of substituent field effect at C‐6. Chlorine atoms dipole direction at the benzylidene ring either enhances or reduces substituent effect depending on how they couple with the substituent dipole at the probe site. The correlation of 13C NMR CS of C‐2, C‐5, and C‐6 with σ and σ indicates that chlorine atoms in the benzylidine ring deplete the ring from charges. Both MSP of Hammett and DSP of Taft 13C NMR CS models give similar trends of substituent effects at C‐2, C‐5, and C‐6. However, the former fail to give a significant correlation for CO and C‐6 13C NMR CS. MSP of σq and DSP of Taft and Reynolds models significantly correlated 13C NMR CS of Cβ. MSP of σq fails to correlate C‐1′ 13C NMR CS. Investigation of 13C NMR CS of non‐chlorinated chalcones series: 3‐phenyl‐1‐(4′‐X‐phenyl)‐2‐propen‐1‐one has revealed similar trends of substituent effects as in the chlorinated chalcones series for C‐1′, CO, Cα, and Cβ. In contrast, the substituent effect of the non‐chlorinated chalcone series at C‐2, C‐5, and C‐6 did not correlate with any substituent constant. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The first conformational analysis of 3‐silathiane and its C‐substituted derivatives, namely, 3,3‐dimethyl‐3‐silathiane 1 , 2,3,3‐trimethyl‐3‐silathiane 2 , and 2‐trimethylsilyl‐3,3‐dimethyl‐3‐silathiane 3 was performed by using dynamic NMR spectroscopy and B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) quantum chemical calculations. From coalescence temperatures, ring inversion barriers ΔG for 1 and 2 were estimated to be 6.3 and 6.8 kcal/mol, respectively. These values are considerably lower than that of thiacyclohexane (9.4 kcal/mol) but slightly higher than the one of 1,1‐dimethylsilacyclohexane (5.5 kcal/mol). The conformational free energy for the methyl group in 2 (?ΔG° = 0.35 kcal/mol) derived from low‐temperature 13C NMR data is fairly consistent with the calculated value. For compound 2 , theoretical calculations give ΔE value close to zero for the equilibrium between the 2 ‐Meax and 2 ‐Meeq conformers. The calculated equatorial preference of the trimethylsilyl group in 3 is much more pronounced (?ΔG° = 1.8 kcal/mol) and the predominance of the 3 ‐SiMe3 eq conformer at room temperature was confirmed by the simulated 1H NMR and 2D NOESY spectra. The effect of the 2‐substituent on the structural parameters of 2 and 3 is discussed. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The thermo‐Raman spectra of synthesised α‐gallium oxyhydroxide nanorod prove that the transition of α‐gallium oxyhydroxide to β‐gallium oxide nanorods occurs above 350 °C but below 400 °C. Scanning electron microscopy proves that the morphology of the α‐gallium oxyhydroxide nanorods is retained upon calcination to β‐gallium oxide. X‐ray diffraction patterns show that the nanorods are α‐gallium oxyhydroxide converting upon calcination to β‐gallium oxide. Intense Raman bands are observed at 190, 262, 275, 430, 520, 605, and 695 cm−1, which undergo a red shift of ∼5 cm−1 upon heating to 350 °C. Upon thermal treatment above 350 °C, the Raman spectrum shows a significantly different pattern. Raman bands are observed at 155, 212, 280, 430, 570, and 685 cm−1. The thermo‐Raman spectra are in harmony with the TG and DTG patterns, which show that the reaction of α‐gallium oxyhydroxide to β‐gallium oxide occurs at 365 °C. Based on energetic compound [1,2,5]‐oxadiazolo‐[3,4‐d]‐pyridazine, a series of functionalized derivatives were designed and first reported. Afterwards, the relationship between their structure and performance was systematically explored by density functional theory at B3LYP/6‐311 g (d, p) level. Results show that the bond dissociation energies of the weakest bond (N–O bond) vary from 157.530 to 189.411 kJ · mol?1. The bond dissociation energies of these compounds are superior to that of HMX (N–NO2, 154.905 kJ · mol?1). In addition, H1, H2, H4, I2, I3, C1, C2, and D1 possess high density (1.818–1.997 g · cm?3) and good detonation performance (detonation velocities, 8.29–9.46 km · s?1; detonation pressures, 30.87–42.12 GPa), which may be potential explosives compared with RDX (8.81 km · s?1, 34.47 GPa ) and HMX (9.19 km · s?1, 38.45 GPa). Finally, allowing for the explosive performance and molecular stability, three compounds may be suggested as good potential candidates for high‐energy density materials. Bis(pyrrol‐2‐ylmethyleneamine) ligands and their mononuclear monomeric and dinuclear dimeric self‐assembly complexes with Cu(II) were investigated by means of IR and Raman spectroscopies and density functional theory. The ground‐state geometries were calculated by using the Becke Lee Yang Parr composite exchange‐correlation functional (B3LYP) and a combined basis set (LanL2DZ for Cu; 6–31G(d) for C, H, N), and they were compared with the single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (XRD) structures. The DFT‐calculated Cu N bond lengths are generally higher by 0.001–0.040 Å than those determined through XRD. The vibrational spectra were also calculated at the same level of theory for the optimized geometries. The calculated wavenumbers were scaled by a uniform scaling factor and compared with the experimental fundamentals. The predicted spectra are in good agreement with the experimental ones with the deviations generally less than 30 cm−1. In comparison with the spectra of the ligands, the coordination effect shifts the υ(CN) wavenumber by about 50 cm−1 toward a lower value. Because of the weak intermolecular C H···Cu hydrogen bond, the Cu N stretching mode is shifted toward a lower wavenumber. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The thermal and light‐induced O ? O bond breaking of 2‐ethyl‐4‐nitro‐1(2H)‐isoquinolinium hydroperoxide (IQOOH) were studied using 1H NMR, steady‐state UV/vis spectroscopy, femtosecond UV/vis transient absorption (fs TA) and time‐dependent density functional theory (TD DFT) calculations. Thermal O ? O bond breaking occurs at room temperature to generate water and the corresponding amide. The rate of this reaction, k = 5.4 · 10?6 s?1, is higher than the analogous rates of simple alkyl and aryl hydroperoxides; however, the rate significantly decreases in the presence of small amounts of methanol. The calculated structure of the transition state suggests that the thermolysis is facilitated by a 1,2 proton shift. The photochemical process yields the same products, as confirmed using NMR and UV/vis spectroscopy. However, the quantum yield for the photolysis is low (Φ = 0.7%). Fs TA studies provide additional detail of the photochemical process and suggest that the S1 state of IQOOH undergoes fast internal conversion to the ground state, and this process competes with the excited‐state O ? O bond breaking. This result was supported by the fact that the model compound IQOH exhibits similar excited‐state decay lifetimes as IQOOH, which is assigned to the S1 → S0 internal conversion.
