内点算法中一类非奇异矩阵的证明及其应用

在内点算法中,迭代方向WK=(X,Y,Z)的存在唯一性需要考虑一类矩阵的非奇异性.本文用简单的代数方法给出这类矩阵非奇异性的证明,并给出了迭代方向WK=(X,Y,Z)的具体表达式.

In this paper we consider the problem of analytical continuation of the solution to the system of equations of the moment theory of elasticity in spatial many-dimensional domain. We give an explicit formula of restoring of solution inside the domain by values of sought-for solution and values of strains on part of the boundary of this domain.     

Fourier Moment Method with Regularization for the Cauchy Problem of Helmholtz Equation

In this paper, we consider the reconstruction of the wave field in a bounded domain. By choosing a special family of functions, the Cauchy problem can be transformed into a Fourier moment problem. This problem is ill-posed. We propose a regularization method for obtaining an approximate solution to the wave field on the unspecified boundary. We also give the convergence analysis and error estimate of the numerical algorithm. Finally, we present some numerical examples to show the effectiveness of this method.     

Construction of the Control Realizing the Rotation of a Timoshenko Beam

We consider the linear model of a slowly rotating Timoshenko beam in a horizontal plane whose moment is controlled by the angular acceleration of the disk of the driving motor into which the beam is clamped. This work complements our previous results on the controllability of the beam from a position of rest into another position of rest; we give a method of construction of a piecewise constant control solving the problem.     

Step-by-step solving of ordered interpolation problem for stieltjes functions

We investigate a step-by-step solving of ordered generalized interpolation problems for Stieltjes matrix functions and obtain a multiplicative representation for the sequence of resolvent matrices. Thematrix factors inmultiplicative representations of the resolventmatrices are expressed through the Schur–Stieltjes parameters, for which we obtain explicit formulas and give an algorithm of step-by-step solving of Stieltjes type interpolation problems. As examples, we consider step-by-step solutions of the Stieltjes matrix moment problem and the problems by Nevanlinna–Pick and Caratheodory.

Regularized DPSS Preconditioners for Singular Saddle Point Problems

Recently, Cao proposed a regularized deteriorated positive and skew-Hermitian splitting (RDPSS) preconditioner for the non-Hermitian nonsingular saddle point problem. In this paper, we consider applying RDPSS preconditioner to solve the singular saddle point problem. Moreover, we propose a two-parameter accelerated variant of the RDPSS (ARDPSS) preconditioner to further improve its efficiency. Theoretical analysis proves that the RDPSS and ARDPSS methods are semi-convergent unconditionally. Some spectral properties of the corresponding preconditioned matrices are analyzed. Numerical experiments indicate that better performance can be achieved when applying the ARDPSS preconditioner to accelerate the GMRES method for solving the singular saddle point problem.     

Part I Parallel architectures and algorithms

This paper provides an introduction to algorithms for fundamental linear algebra problems on various parallel computer architectures, with the emphasis on VLSI systolic array machines. To illustrate the basic concepts and key issues, we consider the problem of the parallel solution of a nonsingular linear systems derived from the finite difference/element discretisation of anN ^th order system of differential equations.     

Distributions of distances and volumes of balls in homogeneous lens spaces

Lens spaces are a family of manifolds that have been a source of many interesting phenomena in topology and differential geometry. Their concrete construction, as quotients of odd-dimensional spheres by a free linear action of a finite cyclic group, allows a deeper analysis of their structure. In this paper, we consider the problem of moments for the distance function between randomly selected pairs of points on homogeneous three-dimensional lens spaces. We give a derivation of a recursion relation for the moments, a formula for the kth moment, and a formula for the moment generating function, as well as an explicit formula for the volume of balls of all radii in these lens spaces.     

A System of Plane Elasticity Canonical Integral Equations and Its Application

In this paper, we obtain a new system of canonical integral equations for the plane elasticity problem over an exterior circular domain, and give its numerical solution. Coupling with the classical finite element method, it can be used for solving general plane elasticity exterior boundary value problems. This system of highly singular equations is also an exact boundary condition on the artificial boundary. It can be approximated by a series of nonsingular integral boundary conditions.     

Tridiagonal and upper triangular inverse M-matrices

In this paper we characterize the nonnegative nonsingular tridiagonal matrices belonging to the class of inverse M-matrices. We give a geometric equivalence for a nonnegative nonsingular upper triangular matrix to be in this class. This equivalence is extended to include some reducible matrices.     

A connection between the moment problem and the subnormal completion problem

1引言在计算数学、数学物理、控制论与矩阵论中,非奇异H-矩阵是有着重要应用的一类特殊矩阵,有关其数值判定也一直是矩阵计算的重要课题,不少学者对此进行了研究,得到了许多结果,如文[1]-[10]都给出一些比较实用的判别方法．本文另提出了一些新的实用性判别,进一步改进了文[1]的主要结果．用Cn×n表示n阶复矩阵集,设A=(aij)∈Cn×n,记,若|aii|≥Λi(i=1,2,…,n)(本文用Λi表示Λi(A)),则称A为对角占优矩阵;如果每个不等号都为严格成立,则称A为严格对角占优矩阵,记A∈D;若存在正对角阵X,使得AX为严格对角占优矩阵,则称A为广义严格对角占优阵,记A∈D．设A∈Zn×n={(aij)∈Cn×n|aij≤0,i≠j;i,j∈N},若A=sI-B,s>ρ(B),其中B为非负方阵,ρ(B)表示B的谱半径,则称A为非奇异M-矩阵．若A∈Cn×n的比较矩阵M(A)=(mij)为非奇异M-矩阵,则称A为非奇异H-矩阵,其中     

对角占优矩阵的推广及应用

研究了几类广义对角占优矩阵的可逆性，然后讨论它们的特征值的性质以及在M矩阵的应用．     

New criteria for identifying H-matrices

In the recent paper of Gan and Huang (Linear Algebra Appl. 374 (2003) 317), several simple criteria, as well as a necessary condition for nonsingular H-matrices, have been obtained. Inspired by this work, we will define several new subclasses of nonsingular H-matrices and give necessary conditions for a matrix to be an H-matrix. Finally, as a result of numerical experiments, we establish relations between defined and some already known subclasses.
