A class of nonlinear systems with homogeneous right-hand sides and time-varying delay is studied. It is assumed that the trivial solution of a system is asymptotically stable when delay is equal to zero. By the usage of the Lyapunov direct method and the Razumikhin approach, it is proved that the asymptotic stability of the zero solution of the system is preserved for an arbitrary continuous nonnegative and bounded delay. The conditions of stability of time-delay systems by homogeneous approximation are obtained. Furthermore, it is shown that the presented approaches permit to derive delay-independent stability conditions for some types of nonlinear systems with distributed delay. Two examples of nonlinear oscillatory systems are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our results.  相似文献

The asymptotic stability and instability of the trivial solution of a functional-differential equation of delay type relative to part of the variables are investigated using limit equations and a Lyapunov function whose derivative is sign-definite. The theorems thus obtained are used to solve the problem of stabilizing mechanical control systems with delayed feedback. As examples, solutions of problems of the uniaxial and triaxial stabilization of the rotational motion of a rigid body with a delay in the control system are presented.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear age-structured model, inspired by hematopoiesis modelling, describing the dynamics of a cell population divided into mature and immature cells. Immature cells, that can be either proliferating or non-proliferating, differentiate in mature cells, that in turn control the immature cell population through a negative feedback. We reduce the system to two delay differential equations, and we investigate the asymptotic stability of the trivial and the positive steady states. By constructing a Lyapunov function, the trivial steady state is proven to be globally asymptotically stable when it is the only equilibrium of the system. The asymptotic stability of the positive steady state is related to a delay-dependent characteristic equation. Existence of a Hopf bifurcation and stability switch for the positive steady state is established. Numerical simulations illustrate the stability results.  相似文献

The problem on determining conditions for the asymptotic stability of linear periodic delay systems is considered. Solving this problem, we use the function space of states. Conditions for the asymptotic stability are determined in terms of the spectrum of the monodromy operator. To find the spectrum, we construct a special boundary value problem for ordinary differential equations. The motion of eigenvalues of this problem is studied as the parameter changes. Conditions of the stability of the linear periodic delay system change when an eigenvalue of the boundary value problem intersects the circumference of the unit disk. We assume that, at this moment, the boundary value problem is self-adjoint. Sufficient coefficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of linear periodic delay systems are given.  相似文献

Some new asymptotic and stability results are given for a first order linear neutral delay differential equation with periodic coefficients and constant delays. The asymptotic behavior of the solutions and the stability of the trivial solution are described by the use of an appropriate real root of an equation, which is in a sense the corresponding characteristic equation.  相似文献

We study systems of differential equations with delay whose right-hand sides are represented as sums of potential and gyroscopic components of vector fields. We assume that in the absence of a delay zero solutions of considered systems are asymptotically stable. By the Lyapunov direct method, using the Razumikhin approach, we prove that in the case of essentially nonlinear equations the asymptotic stability of zero solutions is preserved for any value of the delay.  相似文献

We consider the problem of asymptotic stability of the trivial invariant torus of one class of impulsive systems. Sufficient criteria of asymptotic stability are obtained by the method of freezing in one case, and by the direct Lyapunov method for the investigation of stability of solutions of impulsive systems in another case. We consider some classes of nonlinear mechanical systems with retarded argument. It is assumed that, in the absence of delay, the systems in question have asymptotically stable equilibria. We analyze how the delay affects the stability of these equilibria. The Lyapunov function method and Razumikhin’s approach are used to derive conditions under which asymptotic stability is preserved for arbitrary delay values. We suggest a method for stabilizing strongly nonlinear conservative systems by constructing a delay feedback control depending only on the generalized coordinates.  相似文献

We study certain sufficient conditions for the local and global uniform asymptotic stability, as well as the stabilizability of the equilibrium in cascade systems of delay differential equations. As distinct from the known results, the assertions presented in this paper are also valid for the cases, when the right-hand sides of equations are nonlinear and depend on time or arbitrarily depend on the historical data of the system. We prove that the use of auxiliary constant-sign functionals and functions with constant-sign derivatives essentially simplifies the statement of sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of a cascade. We adduce an example which illustrates the use of the obtained results. It demonstrates that the proposed procedure makes the study of the asymptotic stability and the construction of a stabilizing control easier in comparison with the traditional methods.  相似文献

We give spectral and algebraic coefficient criteria (necessary and sufficient conditions) as well as sufficient algebraic coefficient conditions for the Lyapunov asymptotic stability of solutions to systems of linear deterministic or stochastic delay difference equations with continuous time under white noise coefficient perturbations for the case in which all delay ratios are rational. For stochastic systems, mean-square asymptotic stability is studied. The Lyapunov function method is used. Our criteria on algebraic coefficients and our sufficient conditions are stated in terms of matrix Lyapunov equations (for deterministic systems) and matrix Sylvester equations (for stochastic systems).  相似文献

In this paper, we studied the stabilization of nonlinear regularized Prabhakar fractional dynamical systems without and with time delay. We establish a Lyapunov stabiliy theorem for these systems and study the asymptotic stability of these systems without design a positive definite function V (without considering the fractional derivative of function V is negative). We design a linear feedback controller to control and stabilize the nonautonomous and autonomous chaotic regularized Prabhakar fractional dynamical systems without and with time delay. By means of the Lyapunov stability, we obtain the control parameters for these type of systems. We further present a numerical method to solve and analyze regularized Prabhakar fractional systems. Furthermore, by employing numerical simulation, we reveal chaotic attractors and asymptotic stability behaviors for four systems to illustrate the presented theorem.  相似文献

In this paper we mainly study the existence of periodic solutions for a system of delay differential equations representing a simple two-neuron network model of Hopfield type with time-delayed connections between the neurons. We first examine the local stability of the trivial solution, propose some sufficient conditions for the uniqueness of equilibria and then apply the Poincaré–Bendixson theorem for monotone cyclic feedback delayed systems to establish the existence of periodic solutions. In addition, a sufficient condition that ensures the trivial solution to be globally exponentially stable is also given. Numerical examples are provided to support the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

We investigate a system of two nonlinear age-structured partial differential equations describing the dynamics of proliferating and quiescent hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) populations. The method of characteristics reduces the age-structured model to a system of coupled delay differential and renewal difference equations with continuous time and distributed delay. By constructing a Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the global asymptotic stability of the trivial steady state, which describes the population dying out. We also give sufficient conditions for the existence of unbounded solutions, which describe the uncontrolled proliferation of HSC population. This study may be helpful in understanding the behavior of hematopoietic cells in some hematological disorders.  相似文献

On the basis of the geometric singular perturbation theory and the theory of delayed Hopf bifurcation in slow–fast systems with delay, the stability of nonlinear systems with slowly and periodically varying delay is investigated in this paper. Sufficient conditions ensuring asymptotic stability of those systems are obtained. Especially, though a time-varying delay usually increases complexity in the analysis of system dynamics and it usually deteriorates system stability as well, the study indicates that under certain conditions, the stability of the systems with a time-invariant delay only can be improved by incorporating a slowly and periodically varying part into the constant delay. Two illustrative examples are given to validate the analytical results.  相似文献

In the present paper, we consider the stability problem for delay functional-differential equations with finite delay. We suggest a development of the Lyapunov function method involving the use of scalar comparison equations and limit functions and equations. We prove a localization theorem for the positive limit set of a bounded solution and a theorem on the asymptotic stability of the zero solution. We present examples of sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of solutions of systems of the first, second, and arbitrary orders.

Under study are the systems of nonlinear delay differential equations with periodic coefficients of the linear terms. Some sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of the zero solution are established. We obtain the estimates that characterize the decay rate of solutions at infinity and describe the attraction sets of the zero solution.  相似文献

To obtain sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of linear periodic systems with fixed delay commensurable with the period of coefficients, singular numbers of the monodromy operator are used. To find these numbers, a self-adjoint boundary value problem for ordinary differential equations is applied. We study the motion of eigenvalues of this boundary value problem under a variation of a parameter. Obtaining sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability is reduced to finding the bifurcation value of the parameter for the boundary value problem.  相似文献

In this paper, an eco-epidemiological predator–prey model with stage structure for the prey and a time delay describing the latent period of the disease is investigated. By analyzing corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of the trivial equilibrium, the predator-extinction equilibrium, the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium is addressed. The existence of Hopf bifurcations at the endemic equilibrium is established. By using Lyapunov functionals and LaSalle’s invariance principle, sufficient conditions are obtained for the global asymptotic stability of the trivial equilibrium, the predator-extinction equilibrium, the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium of the model.  相似文献
